Dustin, Im a BIG fan of your soap site, and usually agree with ALL your comments and personal thoughts on there, but im going to have to disagree with you about Gordon Ramsey. Click over to the Food Network and check out “Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares”… He HELPS people in that show using the same tactics (toned down, of course) that he does on Hell’s Kitchen. Sure, most of it might be for dramatic effect and ratings, but hey. It’s Fox.
Anyways, Im pretty sure the guests are aware of the conditions and circumstances. Over all Gordon is a great guy who just wants to make sure hes funding a restaurant for someone who can handle taking charge and getting the job done. I’d more than likely do the same thing to secure my investment

i love hells kitch..avid watcher since last season…this is gonna be a good 1 cant wait to see how it pans out…i can only laugh at the crybabies and the tough guys (who aren’t).

You would be amazed at how many chefs are like that to their employees. You would stay home then if you are that offened. Because they all do it.

You will see as the season goes on that Ramsey softens a little. He has to be really tough at first so they don’t try to get stuff by him or mess with him. He makes them better by not accepting failure. By the time he gets to the end of the show he’ll bark a little but mostly he encourages or gives constructive criticism.

The people eat for free, they are like extras on a movie.
Also, Ramsay is just like many, many chefs- they all shout and scream. I know a chef that threw a shoe at an employee.

I am pretty sure that Rock was thinking strategically, wanting to get rid of his biggest competition early. Aaron needed to go, but I think he knows he’s a bumbling bafoon and will get himself kicked off anyway–OR will quit! So why waste a nom on him? AT LEAST that is what I think rock was thinking. PERSONALLY I would have booted his sorry ass cuz he annoys the crap outta me. As I see it, they cannot win challenges or get dinner served as long as they are having to compensate for him!!!! He’s making me ill….seriously. ALSO D, not sure that Ramsey is REALLY like that at his places. My guess is he’s turning it up a few notches cuz its TV and its part of the expectation that has been set up. He’s the meaner simon cowell on speed and turned up a few more notches for good measure!!

This being my first season watching, it’s kind of growing on me. The only thing that bugs me is the bad words. I also enjoy watching Army Wives on Lifetime on Sunday nights.

Don’t give up. It’s always like this at the beginning. It does get better. Yes, Aaron should have went home but drama sells and increases ratings! Go figure.

It may be the drama that keeps Mr. Cowboy around or it might be simple strategy. Some people on these “reality shows” try to get rid of the toughest competition FIRST.
