Grey’s Anatomy: Ashes to Ashes

Grey’s Anatomy: Ashes to Ashes

This week was the Halloween episode of “Grey’s,” which featured of all things a man cutting off his own foot because he had a body dismorphic order.

So first up, George and Izzy are apparently now a couple, given their secret is out. Aw how cute. I used to like them, but now I’m just kind of annoyed by this storyline. I have to say Yang getting a tude with them was even more annoying. I love when the new heart doctor basically put Yang in her place for sleeping with all her supervisors. Izzy was great for pointing out Meredith was sleeping with another woman’s husband as well, but she’s in Yang’s circle so she gets forgiven.

Mark and Callie had a little moment in the scrub room it seemed. I see the show heading at pairing these two up! I really do, and I actually love it. The fact that the nurses have an anti-Mark club is hilarious. Later Callie moved into Yang’s apartment, I guess they are sharing it?

Meredith brought her mom to work, well her ashes, and got weird looks all around. She was convinced if she could finally put her mom to rest that she could move on and I guess have a healthy relationship with Derek. Derek meanwhile was flirted with by nurses and that new crazy stalkerish doctor. Derek later told the Chief that he had to start dating. WHAT? Didn’t he just tell Meredith last week he’d wait for her? I’m placing a call to McVet to bring him back, Meredith should never have picked Derek over him!

Ava/Rebbecca returned this week to see Alex and ask why he never came for her. They slept together, never really got to talk because of Alex falling asleep and having to deal with an emergency, and then Ava took off. What what what! Are they going to just leave us hanging here? They better resolve this one! Though given the way Alex has been acting latelty, I don’t know if I want to see some happiness for him.

Norman meanwhile had a stroke this week and finally resolved to go into psychiatry rather than surgery. He felt his dead wife was the one who wanted him here, because she knew this would happen and he’d be around the best surgeons in the world. It seems we’ve seen the last of Old Intern, at least for now.

  1. Merideth and Izzy’s situations were totally different. Mer was under the impression that McDreamy was single and even steped back when Addison showed up. Izzy knew they were married and knew both of them. As for Christina pupil/mentor relationships in the professional world turn into something more all the time to question her methods and skills was ok but to disreguard them isn’t. Doesnt matter how good int he sack she is if she can’t do her job.

  2. I think izzie was referring to the prom sex. when mer was with mcvet and derek was still with addison. and props to hahn for putting cristina in her place. yeah, she keeps being told she is a wonderful surgeon, but who is it that keeps telling her this? the people that she is sleeping with.

  3. I have to agree with Kay on this one. Mer had sex with Derek at the prom knowing he was married. I mean, how is that different from George and Izzie’s situation? And “that new crazy stalkerish doctor” is not new. She’s been on the show forever. She took over Bailey’s spot when Bailey was pregnant. And helped Izzie out after Denny died. She is in no way new. And am I the only one loving Haun being on the show!

  4. I new the crazy doc wasn’t new new, she was on last season for an episode. I didn’t know she’d been on before than though, as I thought I recalled her going around introducing herself to everyone.

  5. Hahn tells it like it is. I like that. I am, however, a little confused with the Callie/George/Izzie situation. I don’t think the writing is great for this storyline. It needs to be more clarified IMO. I know I’ve said this so many times, but I miss Burke!!

  6. The whole thing with the Izzy and george story seems really disturbing to me. I mean for the first season or two they were like brother and sister, they stood up for each other. Then Izzy fell in love with Denny, Denny died and she was depressed. She had fun with Alex and he didnt want to be her ‘addiction’ (i dont know what other word to use) to use when she needed to feel like she belonged. So she moved onto George after getting drunk and ‘wild’ night with him, all of a sudden its love???? I seriously dont Know if anyone else sees it this way, but correct me if Im wrong about the whole brother-sisterly relation during the beginning please.

  7. Oh, the whole Mer and Derek thing is a bit different from George and Izzy in relation to my first comment, as well as the fact that Dereks marriage was ‘over’ because his wife cheated on him **still cheated on him after he left**, George got married and was not happy **plus he got drunk** and he ended up with Izzy. Whose to say he wouldnt have done that with anyone else. I mean Mer and Derek never had that type of relationship before, and George and Izzy knowing that George was married (and there wasnt really any problems with him and his wife) did the ‘deed’ anyways. I dont know, I dont like George right now…
