Sexy Rexy Back to Brothers and Sisters?

Sexy Rexy Back to Brothers and Sisters?

Eric Winter (ex Rex on “Days”, Jason McCallister on “Brothers and Sisters”) had a part in the new, but now very dead, CBS musical dramedy “Viva Laughlin.” The show was canceled after only two episodes aired. If any of you actually attempted to watch the show, I’m sure you aren’t surprised. It was terrible!

However for “Brothers and Sisters” fans this is excellent news! We will probably get Eric back as Kevin’s love interest, the revered Jason McCallister, brother to Senator and Presidential hopeful Robert. Jason/Eric was written off in the season premier and sent to build a church on some island in the South Pacific made famous for the musical of the same name. He didn’t know how long he’d be gone. Why do I get the feeling he’ll be back sooner then expected?

Heroes: Fight or Flight

Heroes: Fight or Flight

Posted by Dustin on 10.23.2007 at 11:56 am

So let’s get to discussing this week’s episode of “Heroes.”

Over in Ireland, Kristen Bell’s character Elle appeared asking about Peter. The Irish mob guy/pub owner sent Peter off with Kaitlin, saying he’d handle her. He ended up very dead and crispy. Elle’s character can shoot electricity out of her hands. Elle also called “Daddy” saying Peter was here and she was close, but she was ordered home. Who is her daddy? My guess is probably Bob, the guy running “The Company,” given she spoke of Peter as her assignment.

Peter finally opened the box, which told him his last name, had a photo of him and his brother and a ticket to Montreal. He then went all Isaac and painted a picture of him and possibly Kaitlin standing at an address, they figured in Montreal. Looks like that is where they are headed, especially since finding out about Kaitlin’s brother’s death. What or who is in Quebec? My guess is another person from the photo to be killed, someone with big answers. Of course it would be great it Peter found his supposedly dead father there.

Matt and Nathan went to Philly to confront his father. I was disappointed, they just showed an apartment! I wanted to see how they faked being in Philly. Anyway, Matt’s father can read minds and more, hinting to Matt that is where the power just begins. It seems he can alter reality, sending people into living nightmares, which is what he did to Matt and Nathan before escaping. Matt’s nightmare was him locked up and we got hints that his ex-wife’s kid may be his and not the other cop’s. Nathan’s nightmare dealt with the city being destroyed and once again he faced the ugly version of himself, which has yet to be explained. Is Matt’s dad the killer? It sure looks like it! However it also seems so early on to give away a huge secret like that. Either way, it seems he’s headed after Bob.

Surresh, worried about Molly, took her to “The Company” for treatment, in spite of HRG telling him not to. I think this is just a baaaaad idea. Afterall they had to rescue her from tmen last season! HRG and the Haitian were off on their trip this week, we didn’t learn anything more there. While at “The Company,” Surresh ran into Nikki who was there to be cured. However it doesn’t seem they are doing a good job as she lost it and went nuts. As it turns out, it doesn’t look like she wants to be cured of her powers as we thought before, but of her MPD. Has Jessica come back, or did she never leave?

Monica and Micah bonded over her new found powers this week. Micah basically let her know she was a copycat, she could learn to do whatever she saw. As the episode ended, Surresh showed up on her doorstep. He was sent by “The Company” to investigate Monica!

Hiro is still in Japan helping Kensei and writing messages to Ando, who is trying to decipher them and learn what is going on. Not to much exciting stuff going on with this storyline this week I’m afraid.

TV Writers Set To Strike

TV Writers Set To Strike

Posted by Dustin on 10.22.2007 at 7:04 pm

You’ve probably heard about this on the news or read about it in the papers, but if you haven’t, well TV could start sucking a lot soon. Basically the Writers Guild of America is set to strike beginning November 1st if contract negotiations can’t be reached by the end of the month. The last time this happened was in 1988 and lasted 5 months!

Should writers strike, we’ll probably have new episodes running possibly up to the end of the year. It will really all depend on how many scripts are done. This of course would spell disaster for many shows that are set to begin mid-season, such as Lost and 24. Oh and yes, the soaps and many daytime shows would be hit too, more likely before any other shows on television.

Desperate Housewives: Crab-cakes, new neighbors and wigs

Desperate Housewives: Crab-cakes, new neighbors and wigs

Posted by Dustin on 10.22.2007 at 6:20 pm

The latest episode of “Desperate Housewives” I thought was just so so, but it served to introduce a few new/old characters into the story lines.

Edie found out she had crabs, which she gave to Carlos, who gave them to Gabby who finally gave them to Victor. Gabby played “nurse” to treat Victor’s crabs without him knowing, but by the end of the show, Edie had followed the trail of crab-cakes at Bree’s baby shower party to figure out what had happened. I’m pretty much just loathing Edie right now for what she’s doing to hang onto Carlos. Meanwhile Gabby needs to dump Victor is she wants to get back with Carlos.

Andrew was back again in this episode with a bigger part than the last one, yeah! He was peeved that his mother won’t let him keep the extravagant gifts his grandma Phyllis keeps sending. Therefore he not only helped the ladies with a baby shower, which Bree didn’t want, he invited Phyllis! Phyllis and Bree faced off and of course she found out Bree’s baby secret. She didn’t reveal it, but she did go spring Danielle from the convent she’s been hid in. It will be good to have Danielle home finally. Phyllis is getting on my nerves and she’s only been back for one episode. As much as I want Bree to tell the truth about her pregnancy, I don’t want to see her humiliated by the likes of Phyllis.

The painful part of the episode was watching Susan eat her entire foot upon meeting Bob and Lee, the new gay neighbors. She managed to say every wrong thing she could have. Bob seemed to understand she was not doing it on purpose, Lee could have cared less and was a snot to her. Susan then had to force them to like her, because she has an “everyone has to like me” complex. This of course culminated in the holding hostage of their pet dog, who got loose, to try and win them over when she became a hero. Of course she hid him in her garage, with all her open paint cans and pans, and thus disaster struck. When Mike opened the garage door, out the dog ran and jumped all over Bob’s 2000 dollar Dolce suit. Needless to say, the new neighbors pretty much hate Susan and Mike isn’t thrilled with her at the moment either. Bob I liked, Lee I loath at the moment. He’s far too stuck up and it’s clear he feels he’s just better than these people living in the suburbs.

Lynette and Tom continued to deal with her cancer. Lynette finally stopped feeling woozy and was ready to get busy with her hubby, but Tom couldn’t seem to get it going for her bald head, given her wig got torn and she had to have it repaired. Gabby convinced her to get another wig and role play a bit, which Tom got way to into for Lynette’s tastes. He later explained for him it was nice to not be with someone who had cancer, and through this whole thing she had not once asked how he was handling any of this. She felt guilty and labeled herself one of those “cancer bitches.” I was actually waiting for the inevitable joke or role playing of Captain Kirk and Veeeeeger, but I guess maybe they couldn’t get permission or the $$$ to pay for the mention? Or maybe it didn’t cross their minds.

Finally Aunt Lily came home to die, and she was determined to tell Dylan what really happened to her years ago and why she can’t remember living here, saying it was nobody’s fault what happened. That pretty much settles that she hasn’t been kidnapped and replaced. It’s now sounding like a huge accident, and I’m thinking Dylan as a small child killed her father and has blocked it out. Katherine wouldn’t let Lily tell Dylan, and she died at the end of the episode . . . . but not before leaving a note behind! Grrrrrr, I want to know what is going on and now!

Golden Girl Betty White Guest Stars on Ugly Betty!

Golden Girl Betty White Guest Stars on Ugly Betty!

Posted by Dustin on 10.22.2007 at 3:24 pm

There’s a new Betty coming to town – “Golden Girl” Betty White, who will guest star on an episode of “Ugly Betty” that begins filming next week.

The beloved television actress will play herself in the episode entitled “Bananas for Betty,” which finds Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) trying to change her image as the queen of mean, only to be met with a major setback when she manhandles an older woman in an effort to take the lady’s cab away from her. The victim: None other than Betty White, with the incident filmed by bystanders on their camera phones. Will Willie ever live this down?

Ghost Whisperer Roundup

Ghost Whisperer Roundup

Posted by Dustin on 10.21.2007 at 7:43 pm

So I didn’t make any comments on last week’s “Ghost Whisperer.” Honestly I wasn’t sure what to say. This was the episode that dealt with the Iraq War veteran whose squad followed him home and was haunting him for some reason. The show was so much more serious than others it was just a “wow, that was powerful” episode.

This week’s episode went back to the more creepyesque storyline. This week Melinda had to help a ghost who was stalked in life and died under mysterious circumstances. Of course the guy who was stalking her went after Melinda, until she was able to stop him and bust him. I should have seen the end coming, but I didn’t. Knowing of her powers, he killed himself to stalk her forever! Creepy! However it doesn’t seem to have worked, as once again while in a basement the ghost was grabbed by the mysterious hands and pulled through the wall into the underground.

Next week is the episode where Gabriel returns, as well as Melinda’s father. We should hopefully get some answers about them as well as what is going on with this haunted underground in Grandview. I’m unable to figure this mystery out. Hopefully it won’t be some “it’s situated on a vortex” explanation. Also they seem to have totally dropped Professor Payne’s feelings for Melinda and the blog writer who it appeared was going to expose Melinda. What gives?

Grey’s: Duking It Out

Grey’s: Duking It Out

Posted by Dustin on 10.19.2007 at 1:28 pm

So first up, I had “Betty” on last night, but wasn’t watching. I’ve been ill and was preoccupied with other things. The same thing with “Grey’s” last night, but I did try hard to watch. Here is some comments on what I could recall.

The Grizzy saga continued, and I am now officially sick of it! First up, Izzy thought Callie wanted to rumble in the cafeteria. What is this, 7th grade? Callie didn’t want to fight, but put her in her place saying “Shame on you” for doing this to another woman, and she wouldn’t forgive her. At the end of the show George made Callie admit she didn’t forgive him either. Please someone end it all!

Meanwhile I’m getting fed up with Alex. Izzy gave him hell for acting self righteous towards her when he’s in love with his own married woman Ava. Alex then basically revealed he’s upset that she turned to and fell for George over him after Denny? Boo hoo Alex, you may be pretty on the outside, but you are ugly on the inside.

Lexi continues to be the only inter who counts this season, well her and pretty old intern. Meredith got her panties in a bunch over the fact that McDreamy and Lexi were bonding and talking about her. At the end of the show McDreamy told her that he was ready to marry her, to have a life with her, to grow old and have kids with her; but he knew she wasn’t. He said he’d wait, but in waiting if she couldn’t decide, someone else might come along.

Okay I can somewhat see McDreamy’s point here, but at the same time I wanted to slap him. Hello Meredith knew what she wanted a few seasons ago . . . . and you went back to your wife Addison who cheated on you!

The other story of the evening was The Chief/Adele’s relationship basically crumbling over Adele’s niece dying of cancer. She wanted Chief to basically convince her to do what she could to live, but he said that wasn’t his job. She felt after years of him choosing his job over his family, he had a chance to do something good and wouldn’t. Adele just annoyed me here and I couldn’t stand her either. She wasn’t thinking of her niece who was in pain and didn’t want to fight anymore, she was thinking of herself. It kinda looks like this marriage is over.

Dirty Sexy Money: Whose Kid Is Dutch’s?

Dirty Sexy Money: Whose Kid Is Dutch’s?

Posted by Dustin on 10.18.2007 at 12:40 pm

So yet another mystery, which could be seen a mile away, was opened up this week. Are all of Tripp’s kids really his?

Letitia finally confessed her 40 year affair with Dutch to Tripp. Tripp asked if all the kids where his, she quickly answered yes. Seems he didn’t believe her and had some DNA tests run.

Nick and his wife headed to Italy on “business.” They were going to see a spy that his dad employed from time to time to find out what was going on with Nick’s dad and why he had a file on Simon Elder. He also had several meetings with someone marked in his calender book only as “C.” Of course they thought this would be some romantic time alone . . . . but then Karen and her Tennis star fiance decided to hijack their weekend trip and tag along.

In Italy Nick learned that his dad not only had a file on Simon compiled, but wanted info on Tripp as well! It also seems his dad was working for a third party . . . the mysterious C? Things aren’t looking good and it seems Dutch may have been a naughty boy.

Also in Italy a drunk and ever in love with Nick Karen told Nick’s wife that when they were 19 and in Italy with the family, Nick proposed to her. Nick’s wife wasn’t thrilled to learn this, and later told Karen to stay the hell away from her and her family. Yes! I don’t understand why Karen’s fiance puts up with her. He must be after the money and the attention he gets being involved with her.

Back in New York, Brian continued to try and keep the truth about Gustaf the Swedish Orphan from his wife, but it’s becoming more and more difficult. I think she already knows he’s had an affair and this is his kid, she’s just waiting for him to say it. I mean she can’t be that stupid? During a family dinner Brian was asked why he went into the church? Brian said he didn’t feel he fit in anywhere else, he didn’t like business, politics and wasn’t able to live the life of a media “Darling.” Hmmmmm . . . .

Finally the storyline I have no real interest in, the Darling twins Jeremy and Juliet. Jeremy is dating Juliet’s former best friend, she found out and is furious, and Jeremy found out he knocked the best friend up. Well first we don’t really know if he’s the father, he probably won’t be. Second, these two bore me!

So let’s talk about which kid isn’t Tripp’s. Tripp confronted Letitia, she admitted one of them wasn’t his (well she didn’t say one), and she said she would tell only if he promised it would never be revealed and things would stay the way they are. Of COURSE we didn’t find out who it was! The show gave some huge hints it was Brian, as he felt he never fit in with the family. That seems just too easy that they’d give it away like that. Then again, Brian is the one who hates Nick so it would be interesting. Then there is Karen. However if she was Dutch’s kid, it would essentially kill the whole Karen-Nick obsession Karen has, unless the show wanted to go in a “VC Andrews” kind of direction. Patrick? It would kill his chances in the senate. I have to wonder if it will wind up being the twins, only because their worlds would come crashing down as they pretty much seem to just be the media darlings of the family.
