Chickezie Sent Packing On American Idol

Chickezie Sent Packing On American Idol

Tonight the bottom three were Jason, Chickezie and Syesha. I am somewhat surprised Ramelie wasn’t among the bottom, but not shocked that Chickezie went home. I think Kristy Lee Cook’s performance this week is the only thing that saved her. I expect her, Jason, Ramelie and Syesha to be the next four to go home, unless there is some serious shake-ups and muck-ups!

Big Brother 9: Evicted and the new HOH

Big Brother 9: Evicted and the new HOH

As always, big spoilers for those on the west coast who haven’t seen the show.

Sharron was put on the block when James took himself off. Josh manipulated Sharron into going up, afraid he was going to be put up, also knowing the house would vote Chelsea out.

The house, well mostly Natalie, dyed Easter Eggs and Chelsea decided since she was going to be evicted that she would go out with a bang, smashing all the eggs and going on a huge rampage. Everyone knew she was toast after that.

The votes were counted, and Chelsea was voted off unanimously. Before she left, Chelsea told everyone off, but whispered something to Joshua!

Julie asked what she told to Joshua. She gave him a pep talk and that said he psyches himself out too much before competitions and he can do anything. She also told James there was a a reason he was in this game, she wants to see him and Josh go far.

Chelsea told James not to hang himself, don’t give her a vote, she wants to see him win this if he could.

The new HOH competition was held and the new HOH is . . . . NATALIE!

Some Really Major News . . . .

Some Really Major News . . . .

Posted by Dustin on 03.26.2008 at 11:28 am

I haven’t shared this news here, but I have on my personal blog. I couldn’t talk about it for a long time because I didn’t know if I was allowed to, what I was allowed to say and when I was allowed to say it. It has been semi-formally announced, it’s been trickling around the web slowly and I’m starting to get emails about it. Because of that I feel I can now speak about it.

Many have probably wondered why I took down the reciprocal links between here and the soap site months ago. Well it’s because months ago I chose to give up the soap site. The following is a post from my personal blog from about a month ago explaining it all . . . . .

As you may or may not have heard, I have in fact sold my site SoapOperaFan.com to one of the companies that advertise on my site. The sale was actually made months ago, I had just stayed on to continue running the site for the time being until they took over. It now seems they are finally going to be taking over soon, and even posted on the site’s forum about the site being sold and what not. It’s not on the main site yet, but soon changes will be made there and it will become evident. Probably within a month I’ll no longer be working on the site anymore, or if I am in a very limited capacity while they take over and get the hang of things.

I’ve actually been waiting to be bombarded with emails about this from the forum post, but they never came. Most people who post there (the forum) asked me questions, I answered them. I had also written this standard explanation right after the sale and plan to set it as the “auto-response” for my email when the time comes and I start getting tons of emails about what happened. Here’s what I wrote (and posted on the forum as well) . . . .

I’ve been doing my various soap pages (Days, Another World, Passions, The O.C.) for almost fourteen years now. What started out as a hobby essentially blossomed into pretty much a full time job over the past several years.

For well over a year I had been receiving offers from parties interested in taking over or purchasing the page. I turned down initial offers, but a year later when more came along, I was at a point in my life where I had some choices to make regarding my future. As many of you may or may not know, I’ve been in graduate school for a long time now, and I’d really like to finish! The soaps were supposed to be a hobby, not my life and career, but that’s what it started to feel like for me. Due to the fact that I am now on a very strict deadline to finish school, I opted to make the difficult choice to give up the page.

Other issues also factored in my choice. As I have said, it was not an easy choice as the page has been so much a part of my life for almost 14 years now that I couldn’t imagine not doing it anymore. That in and of itself was a major issue for me believe it or not. I felt I was putting too much of my time into the page, sacrificing school, personal time, and well a personal life for the page at times. As many who have been with me for a long time know, I would even keep the page up to date while on vacation. Let me tell you, that doesn’t go over well with those you vacation with!

So all these factors contributed in my decisions to give up the page, and I truly hope you can understand. Again this wasn’t an easy choice for me, but essentially for so long I feel I have put the page first and now it was time to put me first.

All of the above was written by me back in early February. The whole transition has taken a little longer than expected. I honestly didn’t expect to be doing the pages past the end of last year to be frank. This as well as other things caused a mini-melt-down for me recently, which unfortunately has forced me to say goodbye rather abruptly I know.

Sadly all obligations I have to the site have ended. I stayed on past when I was obligated to mainly out of concern and care for it, as it was my “baby.” However the point of selling was for me to be able essentially retire from the daily workings, the updates, the time consumption and the frustrations; to focus on school and moving on with my life. At this point my staying on as long as I have and any further is just defeating that purpose.

So I’ve brought you all up to speed now. The reason I’m posting this here and now is probably evident at this point. I wanted it all out in the open in case people started leaving messages in the shoutbox about what is going on, which they are. And like I said, emails have already started trickling in. The site will continue to be updated, just not by me. The updates should start up again this week with an official explination as to what is going on. Eventually there will also be a sleek new redesign of the site.

Again, I’m continuing with this site as well as all my other personal sites/blogs. I can now focus on my school work from pretty much 9 to 5 and then have time to relax and enjoy myself for once. Once my dissertation draft is turned in and it’s all about editing then I hope to expand this site a little more than the personal blog it is now. As I mentioned before, I’m hoping to pull some others in to blog about shows I don’t.

If you have any questions, you can email me or leave them in the comments. Nasty comments will be deleted though 🙂

Penn Jillette and Monica Seles were both given the boot this week on “Dancing With The Stars.” I’m not shocked by either, and am pretty sure Adam Corolla will probably be the next to go.

In other news, next week Kylie Minogue is set to perform a song from her new album “X.”

Medium Gets Darker

Medium Gets Darker

Posted by Dustin on 03.25.2008 at 9:04 pm

“Medium” has always dealt with issues of murder, kidnapping and what not; not exactly fun and games. However the past few episodes, and in fact much of this season, just seem darker and more violent than usual. I’m not sure what to think about that. I mean I have been cringing while watching the show lately, something I didn’t used to do. I think part of it is a purposeful reflection on the troubles the family is going through, with both Joe and Allison facing dark times with the loss of their jobs.

Recently we’ve had to face a lot two-part episodes as well. Previously Allison and Ariel were both having odd dreams of death and murder, which ended up connecting two similarly different cases. Also Joe’s mom faces cancer and an uncertain future. Currently Allison and Cynthia (guest star Angelica Houston) are involved in a kidnapping case which appears linked to the disappearance of Cynthia’s daughter years ago by a couple of psychopaths that kidnap and torture young girls.

The one bright spot going on is Joe is now having funny dreams! Joe is dreaming of an invention of sorts which he’s looking to patent and make money off of, but Allison says they don’t have the money now to do this. Obviously this is going to cause some problems between them, as if they need anymore. I hope Joe can make it work, because let me tell you he’s annoying me. I was glad Elton (from the Cosby Show, the unemployment office worker) basically asked him if he was doing anything to get a job. In my opinion he’s not, as he could get a job but is seems doesn’t want to do something he thinks is beneath him and his education. You have kids to feed buddy, suck it up!

Kelly Preston Joins Medium For Four Episodes

Kelly Preston Joins Medium For Four Episodes

Posted by Dustin on 03.25.2008 at 1:56 pm

KELLY PRESTON (‘THE TENTH CIRCLE,’ ‘DEATH SENTENCE’) TO GUEST STAR ON NBC’S ‘MEDIUM’ FOR A FOUR EPISODE ARC AS AN ATTRACTIVE VENTURE CAPITALIST WHO SEES SOMETHING SPECIAL IN JOE (JAKE WEBER) AND HIS NEW INVENTION, WHICH ULTIMATELY CREATES TENSION IN HIS MARRIAGE TO ALLISON (EMMY WINNER PATRICIA ARQUETTE)

BURBANK, Calif. – March 24, 2008 – Actress Kelly Preston (“The Tenth Circle,” “Death Sentence”) will guest star in NBC’s hit drama “Medium” for a four episode arc, beginning Monday, April 14, 10-11:00 p.m. ET. Beginning with an episode entitled “Partners In Crime,” Preston will play Meghan Doyle, an attractive venture capitalist who likes what she sees when Joe Dubois (Jake Weber) makes a presentation on his new solar power-based invention to her investment firm. Her decision to independently fund and become business partners with Joe ultimately creates tension in his marriage to Allison (Emmy winner Patricia Arquette), it was announced today by Executive Producer Glenn Gordon Caron.

“We’re thrilled to have Kelly join us for the final episodes of Season 4,” said Caron. “For the role of Meghan Doyle, a venture capitalist who decides to underwrite Joe, we needed an actress who exuded both intelligence and sexuality. Someone who could stand toe-to-toe with Patricia and Jake, and credibly create chaos in a household and a marriage that is as strong as any on television.”

Preston has proven her versatility with strong performances in smaller independent films including “From Dusk ‘Til Dawn” and “Citizen Ruth” as well as in hit feature films, including her breakout role in “Jerry McGuire” opposite Tom Cruise. Since then, she has appeared alongside Michael Keaton in “Jack Frost,” Jim Carrey in “The Cat in the Hat” and received critical notices for her role opposite Kevin Costner in “For the Love of the Game.” She appeared in “Battlefield Earth,” a film produced by her husband of 16 years, John Travolta, and most recently starred with Kevin Bacon in “Death Sentence.” Later this year, Preston will star in “The Tenth Circle,” based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Jodi Picoult.

Dancing With Stars: Take 2

Dancing With Stars: Take 2

Posted by Dustin on 03.24.2008 at 10:00 pm

Tonight on “Dancing With The Starts,” each couple danced yet another set of dances. The scores from tonight and phone in votes will all be combined and lead to a double elimination on Tuesday. One man and one woman will go home this week.

I’m not going to review everyone’s dances again like I did last week. Instead I’m just giving my predictions that Monica Seles and Adam Corolla will be heading home tomorrow night. Additionally I felt that Jason Taylor and Kristi Yamaguchi were the best of the couples tonight, followed by Shannon Elizabeth, Mario and Priscilla Presley. The tear jerker moment of the night went to Marissa Jared Winoker, who felt she let her partner Tony down and broke down into tears. I can’t help it, I love her. Also Marlee Matlin is just amazing!
