Stunned: BB & AI

Stunned: BB & AI

Okay first let me say I had to get all this info second hand. As I type this I’m in Sin City, Las Vegas baby! I’ll be here till Sunday. All my shows are Tivoing, but I can also get them all the next day online. So if my thoughts/recaps are late . . . that’s why!

So anyway, tonight Ryan won the final HOH on “Big Brother” and sent Sheila packing, and I heard she was a blubbering mess. I really wanted her and Adam to end up in the final 2.

What I’m shocked, and pissed about, is “American Idol.” Holy crap, I did not see Carly going home tonight at all! I didn’t expect her to win, but at this point I am very angry. It seems every time I watch AI this happens to me, people who I feel need to go home don’t. Grrrr! I can’t believe they voted her out over Jason last night and even Brooke’s huge mess up.

Let me reiterate grrrr!

lucyliu.jpg If ABC decides to cancel “Cashmere Mafia” then Lucy Liu is expected to jump ship over to “Dirty Sexy Money” and will become a regular there for the second season. The character she’s being courted for is that of an attorney, but it’s not known how she will fit into the show. Peter Krause’s character on the show Nick is the head attorney for the Darling family.

Last night on “Dancing With the Stars” was the last dance for Marlee and Fabian, who were sent home. Also in the bottom two with her were Mario and Karina.

Over to “Big Brother,” Ryan won the veto and did not use it. Sharron was then immediately voted out. The final three house guests went on to compete in the final HOH competition.

Tonight’s show will be the live final eviction and the big reveal of the two final house guests. I believe the voting for the winner will be Sunday night.

American Idol: You Must Love Me

American Idol: You Must Love Me

Posted by Dustin on 04.22.2008 at 9:24 pm

So tonight was Andrew Lloyd Weber night on American Idol, and I have to admit I’ve been looking forward to this night since it was announced. I was pleasantly surprised, as well as shockingly horrified.

Let’s get to the bad stuff right off the bat. Jason Castro doing “Memory” from “Cats” was the worst performance of the night. I admit I’m biased against him, but that was not a good song pick at all. Brooke White meanwhile chose “You Must Love Me” from Evita (actually written for Madonna for the movie version) and she forgot the words and started over. Not good for her. These are going to be the bottom two and if they aren’t I will be stunned.

For the good. Syesha, who has been struggling, did an amazing performance of the song “One Rock’n’ Roll Too Many” from “Starlight Express.” I have never seen this show, so it was new to me. She was really good though. The two stars of the night for me were David A. who did an amazing song with “Think Of Me” from “Phantom” and really was the only one I thought to pull off doing a Broadway song more as a pop song. I have to say I also loved Carly doing “Jesus Christ Superstar.” I got chills! Finally David C. did “Music Of The Night” from “Phantom.” He was good, but it didn’t click with me. He should have done something from “Joseph” of “Miss Saigon,” something with more of a rock feel.

Brothers and Sisters: Primary Blues

Brothers and Sisters: Primary Blues

Posted by Dustin on 04.22.2008 at 5:42 pm

First up, sorry this was so late in coming. Anyway, let’s get to the latest episode of “Brothers and Sisters.”

The show opened pretty much were it left off a few months ago. Robert had won a major primary, but then lost a bunch to his rival Taylor, which effectively squashed his dreams for the republican nomination for President. Three months had then past from where we left off, perhaps an ode to the time lapsed during the strike and lack of episodes?

Anyway, three months later we find Kitty and Robert are starting fertility treatments to try and help her conceive. Meanwhile Isaac has accepted a job teaching in DC and shocks Nora by asking her to come with him. All the kids are worried, but think she’d never do it. She shocks everyone when she tells Isaac yes! One of the best scenes of the episode was when Kevin started to cry and Sarah slapped him and told him to be a man!

Rebecca’s birthday was coming up and she found that Nora was planning to throw her a party. She invited her mom and David to go, they’ve been seeing a lot of each other. David presented Rebecca with a gift beforehand, a necklace which she wore to the party. When Holly saw it, she was taken aback. She confronted David knowing very well it was a family heirloom, his mother’s. She said that was a gift a father would give a daughter, what is he implying? Of course it as foolish of her to do this in the middle of the Walker’s house because Justin over heard. Duh!

Meanwhile all the kids started arguing with Nora about her leaving and she blew up. She told them all off, that she wasn’t moving out of fear of being alone but to get away from all of them meddling in her life all the time. She said this was a choice she made for herself. After her blow-up the party was pretty much over. Kitty, who had told Isaac she didn’t think her mom was really ready for this or knew what she was doing, apologized to her mom for putting doubts in his head. She also told her mom she really did want her to stay.

Meanwhile back at Holly’s place, David confronted Holly about whether Rebecca was his daughter. She admitted there was a remote possibility. Oh boy! It seems she and William had a fight one night and she ended up in David’s bed. However Holly said if Rebecca learned this, she might never recover and she might never forgive her. She begged him to leave it for Rebecca’s sake, and he seemed to agree. These scenes pretty much cinched it for me, they are going to make David her father.

Nora ended up telling Isaac that she was sorry but she couldn’t go with him after all. He seemed to know it was coming, and he knew her going was a long shot. Well I think we all knew Nora wasn’t going to move away. I have to say I’m A-Okay with this as I never warmed up to these two. I still want the contractor guy back!

Finally Justin told Rebecca about the fight Holly and David had. Rebecca says her mom denies the possibility of David being her dad, but she has her doubts. She knows she can get a test, but isn’t sure she can handle the results and have her life turned upside down yet again. Justin offered to go with her, which is what he did. I have to say I’m not liking this story at all, for me it’s far too “daytime” to pull another “whose the daddy” with Rebecca. I feel it’s being done so they can pair Justin and Rebecca together.

Also going on in this episode was some issue with the deal Graham had put together, which Saul is really pushing. Sarah has reservations as the plan requires them taking out a large loan and risking a lot. In the end it appeared Sarah had decided to back out and told Graham this decision. This storyline was the big snoozer for me in this episode.

Finally as Kitty was getting used to having Robert around and looking forward to a family, Robert was missing Presidential politics and told Isaac as much. He really wanted this, he thought it was his time. Of course then the phone call from his opponents people came in, and Kitty knew it was a VP invite. I’m still not sure what will happen here, as if this happens for Robert then it means a move to DC and really would tear the storylines apart for the show in terms of the interconnectedness of the family.

Next Week:
Surprising revelations will shock the family.
Kitty call from her fertility doctor.
Saul is apparently accused of fraud by Sarah.
Taylor asks Robert to be his VP candidate.
Kevin and Tommy want to know if Justin knows something about Rebecca.
Justin asks Rebecca if she heard any news.

Dancing With The Stars: April 21st Episode

Dancing With The Stars: April 21st Episode

Posted by Dustin on 04.21.2008 at 9:45 pm

Jason and Edyta danced the samba to “Best of My Love.” Len thought he did a great job this week, but Bruno felt his timing and footwork was a little off this week and Carry Anne seemed to agree. They got a 24.

Shannon and Derrek danced the rumba to “True Colors.” I can’t help but feel their dance was somewhat of an ode to their relationship that been the focus of several tabloids this past week! Bruno said they were sizzling, but Shannon had no hip action. Carrie Anne said she had the ability to make great shapes, but she has to work at it. Len thought overall they did a good job. Samantha grilled them about their relationship before the scores, but they weren’t talking. They got a 24.

Marlee and Fabian danced the mambo to some song Latin I don’t know. Carrie Anne felt it was forced and they were struggling, Len said it looked uncomfotable and Bruno said the timing was off and she was stumbling. They all told her though that she had made great achievements. They got a 21.

Christian and Cheryl danced the foxtrot to “Come Fly With Me.” Len thought it was his best performance, Bruno said his footwork was amazing and Carrie Anne said he was refined. They got a 27.

Marissa and Tony danced the Viennese waltz to “Delila” Bruno said he liked it, Carrie said she has been on two weeks in a row and Len said she was elegant like a true princess. They got a 26.

Kristy and Mark danced the jive to “Gunna Rock It Up.” Carrie Anne said hell yeah and that was her favorite dance done this season so far. Len loved it and Bruno said this was top notch entertainment. He said she nailed it and performed it the best she ever had. They got a perfect 30, the first of the season.

Mario and Karina danced the rumba to “Let’s Get It On.” Len said they did a good job, but it wasn’t a rumba for him and was too raunchy. Bruno thought it was fabulous. Carrie Anne said it was better than good sex, but they did a lift which she’d dock them for. They got a 28, they’re best score yet.

After everyone danced it was time for the group dance, which was a country theme. The women played sheriffs while the men outlaws. They danced to the song “Cotton Eye Joe.” Each couple got a chance to showcase some fun moves during their solos.

Tomorrow night is the results show, and unless there is a surge of votes I’m thinking Marlee will be leaving this week. Also ABC is taking a chance and letting Ashlee Simpson sing. Will it be live or Memorex?

Desperate Housewives: Someone’s In The Kitchen

Desperate Housewives: Someone’s In The Kitchen

Posted by Dustin on 04.21.2008 at 4:56 pm

Wow this week’s episode of “Desperate Housewives” was amazing! Let’s get into it shall we?

Poor Mike is still cooling his heels in rehab, which has to be the longest stint in rehab on any kind of serial drama. I’m getting worried here about the lack of use of his character! Here’s hoping that we’ll see more Mike soon. Anyway, Mike asked Orson to come visit him. It seemed Mike had something important to talk about. Orson’s guilty conscience thought Mike knew about the accident, but of course Mike only wanted to apologize for making Orson write him that prescription for drugs. I seems the guilt is really getting to Orson, who started sleep walking and sleep talking. Unfortunately for others, Orson obviously sleeps in the nude as he kept running into Susan naked! She didn’t realize he was sleepwalking first time, and when she confronted him and Bree . . . they accused her of dreaming it all up! I loved how she explained “If I dreamt it do you think I’d be scrubbing butt prints off my stool!” I also loved when she said seeing Orson naked meant she couldn’t have her cake, and she really wanted to eat a slice. Too funny!

Meanwhile Gabby grew frustrated with Carlos, finally realizing that things weren’t going to be as easy as she first thought. Upon a trip to their own version of Costco or BJ’s Wholesale Club, Gabby noticed all the “preemo” parking for handicap people and then got a sneaky idea . . . she applied for a handicap permit for Carlos! However she used it for herself to get the spaces, and was quickly confronted by two men in wheelchairs for taking up a space. This was the best scene of the show, as Gabby told one of the men that she has to walk in high heels while he gets to wheel around. They wanted to call the cops, and she got in a fight with them! Yes Gabby basically started beating up men in wheel chairs. One went to get a security guard, so Gabby shoved the other and sent him rolling saying “Now I am going to hell . . . ” She then split. Too funny, but so Gabby. Later she started dragging Carlos around so she didn’t have another scene like that, but he soon figured out what was going on. He was furious, but she explained that this has affected her as well. She finds herself constantly worrying about him anytime she leaves him alone, whether he’ll be okay. She says if getting the preemo parking spaces is the only good thing she can get out of it well by golly she’s taking it!

Also going on was the Founder’s Day Ball. This is an event where someone in the community is presented with an award for their service to bettering the community. For the past eight years Bree has planned it and presented the award. Katherine thought it sounded like fun and volunteered to help Bree, who accepted. It seemed like their rivalry days were past them, but all the other girls couldn’t help but think they would end up killing one another. Unfortunately it seems their rivalry wasn’t over, as Katherine slowly took over the flowers, the food and then Bree learned that Katherine insisted on presenting the award too, telling the committee that Bree was too busy. This was like slamming the door of the oven and ruining Bree’s bunt cake, and she wasn’t going to take it. Knowing the ranch dip that was made had gone rancid and needed to be thrown out, she let Katherine taste test it and didn’t tell her it had gone bad. Katherine soon ended up violently ill and figured out what Bree had done. It was Bree that ended up with dip on her face though as Katherine presented this year’s Founder’s Day award to Bree! Later Katherine and Bree had a talk. Katherine thought they were getting along fine, but Bree admitted that she doesn’t know how to get along with Katherine because they are so much alike. Katherine pointed out that didn’t have to be a bad thing. Katherine said she’s been were Bree’s been, when you’ve had days so bad all you could do was set a nice table and put on a face. Katherine said they could end up being the best of friends. So after this episode it looks like the rivalry finally might really be behind them. It’s been fun, but was starting to get a little played out. I can’t wait to see where these two go from here as it should be great.

desperate-ricktom.jpg Finally this episode saw the return of Rick. Rick showed up at Tom’s pizza place to basically give him and Lynette fair warning, he was opening up his own restaurant across the street! One of Tom’s customers remembered him and hoped he was coming back. Rick then started handing out his business cards. Ouch! Tom however told Lynette they could show Rick up, he’ll add to their menu and beat him. Unfortunately soon it seemed vandalism struck Rick’s, as a large brick went sailing threw the front picture window of the place. Lynette suspected Tom, who admitted he did it. However he was furious that Rick was back in their lives because he made him see that another man could steal Lynette from him . . . and Lynette made him see that it could happen too. Unfortunately as they fought, the kids listened in . . . Later during the Founder’s Day’ Ball, Lynette got a call from Andrew who said Rick’s place had gone up in flames! Seconds later, Tom walked into the ball . . . late. Has Tom done a very bad thing? Something tells me no . . . . but the kids did! I think the kids probably set the fire because they were afraid of their parents getting divorced if Rick stayed around.

The show ended with some great cliff hangers. Julie came home to find Orson sleep walking, fortunately with clothes on this time . . . and he sleep talked and said “I’m sorry I ran you over Mike!” Meanwhile photos of Katherine and Dylan from the ball showed up in the paper, and a strange man circled Dylan’s face in the paper. Hello daddy!

On the Next Episode:
Carlos gets a seeing eye dog, which Gabby doesn’t take a liking to.
Rick and Tom get into a fight which Lynette breaks up.
Mike confronts Orson about running him over.

Big Brother: On The Block And Other Spoilers

Big Brother: On The Block And Other Spoilers

Posted by Dustin on 04.20.2008 at 9:23 pm

So tonight on “Big Brother” we got a recap of Natalie’s eviction, getting to watching her cry and sob all over again and asking the men why she would do this to her?

After Natalie left, Ryan was furious with Adam as he apparently whispered to her that he voted to keep her. He did, but told Ryan he didn’t say anything to her. He claimed he said something else to her, leaving Ryan unsure if Adam is lying to him.

Ryan is the new HOH this week and he ended up nominating Sheila and Sharron, no shock there. He said after last week, he and Adam stuck together not knowing who to trust and that is why he kept Adam safe, nothing against the women.

Thanks to the trick gerbil question, everyone continued to speculate about who is the pre-existing relationship in the house. Ryan and Sheila even wondered if they could be distant relatives!

A luxury competition was held, Ryan and Sharron won a free screening of the new movie “What Happens In Vegas” while Adam and Sheila are stuck shackled together for 24 hours.

To find out some POV spoilers, keep reading . . .
