Heroes: RIP Nikki

Heroes: RIP Nikki

So I completely SPACED and forgot to do a “Heroes” post on the latest episode. I’m so sorry! A quick recap as well as some thoughts.

Angela revealed to Sylar that she was his mother and she had given him up for adoption. We don’t know who his father is, but I have a sneaking suspicion it’s Adam Monroe, via an affair. That’s why he was given up, that’s why he’s so evil.

Angela teamed Sylar up with Noah to bring back the bad guys that had escaped from Level 5. Noah didn’t like the idea at all, but Sylar proved to be an impressive partner . . even if he did end up killing some of them to absorb their powers. Upon finishing the job, Sylar was put back in Level 5 lockup, for now. Okay I have to say that was it? It seems the escape of these villains was hyped as such a big part of the season, and they are already captured?

Peter from the future returned to get the current Peter out of Jesse, one of the escaped villains. He then said he would take Peter to the future to understand the horrors that had happened, and how they have to save the world this season. Maybe in the future Peter will remeet with the Irish lass who got left there and forgotten there? Or maybe they just want her forgotten!

The Haitian returned in this episode and had the 2nd half of the formula Daphne was looking to steal. Hiro and Ando bungled the whole thing and basically handed it over to Daphne. I have to say as silly as they played this out with the “Batman” references, I’m loving it. I really want to know who Daphne’s boss is. I’m guessing Adam!

The Haitian met up with HRG at the end of the show asking if he had been replaced as his partner? Noah told him that he planned to find Sylar’s weakness . . . and kill him! Um, he can’t die though. Has Noah forgotten that part?

Parkman continued his spirit walk with the guy in Africa. The guy had painted portraits of Parkman on the rocks when he was only a kid. He had painted Parkman finding his powers, finding Molly and everything that had happened since the series debut. He also painted a future with Parkman, a wife and a baby. However that had been changed according to him, he erased it and was beginning new paintings. Did anyone think based on the painting that Parkman was supposed to end up with Daphne?

Finally Traci Strauss went in search of answers and her connection to Nikki. This led her to New Orleans where she found Micah at a funeral home. Nikki was in a coffin, she’s actually dead! DEAD! OMG! I was stunned by this. I also wonder if this means Micah is a goner for this show, as well as his boring cousin? I liked the actress, I was just bored with her story. Something tells me no, because I remember reading Nichelle Nichols is set to return this season for a few shows.

Micah helped Traci look for answers, cross referencing her with his mom. As it turned out, they were born at the same hospital on the same day. Traci went in search of a doctor on the birth records. He thought she was someone else, until she revealed “which” one she was. The doctor told her that he had created her. What what what! It looks like we are dealing with some insane cloning experiment gone wrong?

  1. I left out Claire’s story. I’ll add it soon.

  2. I really enjoyed this episode. I was worried that the series was going to get so many storylines going, it would be a headache to follow them all, but they are doing well tying things/people together. Last week was a little disturbing though, the whole scalping thing was a bit of a stomache churner!

  3. Linderman had extensive information on both Nikki and her husband, as well as Micah. And he eluded to the fact that he had set Nikki and her husband up. Perhaps he was partners with Dr. Zimmerman.

Overall, I found this episode a bit dull, especially compared to last week.

The painting did look like Daphne.

  4. I have to admit I’m feeling a little bad for Sylar — you grow up and turn out all weird, wanting to kill people and you end up killing your own mom. But then you find out she wasn’t your birth mother — but ANGELA PETRELLI is. Could he get crappier cards? Then new mom says she cares for you, yada yada but then keeps putting you in a cell. He’s gonna be a bigger head case than he already was!

The Hiro/formula story is annoying me now. If he can manipulate time, why didn’t he just hop back 5 minutes before they opened the safe, remove the formula and be done with it? I know we’re dealing with fiction here and all, but let’s at least be smart about it.

As for killing Sylar, wasn’t there some reference to beheading? I thought there was a comment by Adam that that’s one you don’t come back from. (Unless perhaps someone reunites head and body.) So it may be possible to kill Sylar. Heck, Claire stayed dead that one time until the mortician pulled the whatever-it-was out of her.

Claire’s Fire Mommy is pretty wacked out. Had to agree with the adoptive mom (forgotten her name) — Fire Mom shouldn’t get to make decisions about Claire’s safety. Of course, they should’ve seen right through the cheerleading ruse. She may be indestructible but she is still a teenager.

I’m really not sure where they are going with Parkman. They explained what Future Peter did with Present Peter, but no explanation on why Future Peter dumped Parkman where he did. (All I know is I can’t look at his sunburned, blistered, oogy face anymore. Ew!) Interesting that the spirit walk guy can trigger his power with a walkman. (Walkman. Parkman. hmmm…) My husband thought the girl in the painting was Daphne, too.

I’m not sure where they are going with this Nikki/Jessica/Traci thing. If I had to guess, I’d say Zimmerman is in with the whole “company” and they were researching the genetic links of powers. Nikki, Jessica and Traci were probably test tube triplets. I hope they keep Micah around — I like his power the best. Maybe “Aunt” Traci will need his help uncovering her past.

I always leave this show scratching my head — where will they go next??

  5. Yes! I totally thought the woman in the painting was Daphne. But did I miss something? How was Parkman able to use the spirit guy’s powers?

The name of this season is villains right? So maybe that is why we thought these escaped guys would be a bigger storyline. Now I’m thinking when the Peter’s go back to the future there will be villains everywhere as a result of evil people obtaining the serum to give themselves powers.

Sylar did say he couldn’t die. Maybe though, Noah will keep trying to kill him just so this fact can be proven to us?

How could Adam be Daphne’s boss? Isn’t he still buried alive? I’m thinking maybe it is Angela. And what is the formula? Is it also the formula to give someone powers?

So how many Nikkis are there? If she was a clone, it is interesting they do not have the same powers. And now I’m wondering if Traci can be taken over by Nikki and Jessica like Nikki could be taken over by Jessica…..hmmm.

I’m always surprised by where this show goes though…. which is why I love it so much!
