Dirty Sexy Money: RIP Carmelitta

Dirty Sexy Money: RIP Carmelitta

Posted by Dustin on 12.22.2008 at 3:26 pm

On the last episode of “Dirty Sexy Money,” which might actually be the last new episode, we found ourselves a month after Patrick’s inauguration and the shooting. Mini-cap and thoughts follow.

No surprise, we all guessed it, Carmelita was shot and killed. She basically had to die, or it would have been Patrick’s career that was dead. I’m still sad to see her go. She was probably the only thing interesting about Patrick’s storyline.

Chase fell into a coma and was never expected to regain consciousnesses. He had a living will, but his wife was fighting it. Of course Tripp and Simon both had their reasons to see the plug pulled on Chase. Tripp Nick up to challenging the wife legally on behalf of the hospital wanting to honor Chase’s wishes. Meanwhile Simon put Nola up to going and pulling the plug. In the end Chase died on his own in his sleep.

Jeremy hit his head at the inauguration and ended up with amnesia. However by the end of the episode we learned he really didn’t have amnesia, he was faking it so that Nola wouldn’t get in trouble with Simon over telling him about her brother. He also thought he could fly under the radar this way and help her get her brother back. I have to admit that was one twist I didn’t see coming, nd I’m usually good about spotting them. I’m still confused as to how and why Simon’s holding her brother. She mentioned Simon helped her family out once, I guess she has to repay the debt?

The church held some big “meet the reverend” night for Brian, which annoyed him as he felt they only wanted to dip into his families pocket books. He found out that a donation came in for 1.6 mil to fix the church’s organ right after he announced his return to the church. He didn’t tell Andrea about the whole shindig and became distant. She felt he wanted out of their marriage, that he married her when he thought she was dying and now she wasn’t. He said he wanted out, but thankfully later recanted. Whew! Love these two and want them to have their happily ever after. Brian told her that she was the only one in his life who wanted him for him, not his money or family, and it scared him. I didn’t see this explanation coming actually. I thought maybe he was pushing her away as some weird way of honoring the pact he made with God the week earlier, that if he saved Andrea he would return to the church.

Nick wanted joint custody of Kiki, but Lisa wasn’t sure he had the time to take care of her with all the Darlings he had to look after. She left him with Kiki for a weekend trial, which of course he screwed up. When he had to take care of things he left her with Letitia, but Karen got a hold of her. She wanted to prove to Nick, who she’s back to crushing on, that she could take care of Kiki and be responsible. In the end Nick was impressed, Lisa was not. She was furious and planned to sue Nick for sole custody of Kiki. Gotta say I’m really loathing Lisa lately. I started out this season wanting their marriage to work, but now I want her to just go away. Nick and Karen forever!

Finally the show ended leaving us with a possible answer to a question many of us have been wondering . . . is Dutch alive? The donation to the church to fix the organ came with a plaque that said something along the lines of “In honor of my son.” Brian thought it was from Tripp, but Nick told him it wasn’t, that he would have known if Tripp made this donation. That left one person . . . Dutch! It would seem Dutch is possibly alive after all. If so, where the hell did he get that kind of cash?

RuPaul’s Drag Race

RuPaul’s Drag Race

For those who love all things “Project Runway” and are looking for a fresh new spin, look no further! I found out about this upcoming show tonight. Logo begins airing RuPaul’s Drag Race on February 2nd. Think of a cross between “Project Runway” and a drag show? The idea appears to be to design the most fabulous drag queen costume in various weekly challenges, to become the next supreme drag queen? It seems to be a mix of fashion and music. Oh wait, the best part includes the judges! Santino from “PR” will be there! Also Lucy Lawless from “Xena” fame. Tori Spelling appears to be a guest judge, along with her husband. I have to say, I can’t wait to see this. It will either be amazing or a “hot tranny mess.”

No More Jackson For Housewives? (Update!)

No More Jackson For Housewives? (Update!)

Posted by Dustin on 12.19.2008 at 4:28 pm

I know of few of you aren’t going to like this news! Ted Casablanca at E! is reporting that Gale Harold (Jackson) may not be returning to “Desperate Housewives.” The star was involved in a serious motorcycle accident a few month back. The rumors are that he is still severely injured to the point he probably won’t return to work. A spokesperson for Harold insists the injuries aren’t as bad as the media is making them out to be, but had no comment on whether he’d return to “Housewives.” The show made no comment either.

E! updated this story with a tidbit. It seems Gale did return to the set recently to film a few quick scenes, but was still in a lot of pain. So it’s unknown what the fate of Jackson may be.

Private Practice: Last Show Of The Year Thoughts

Private Practice: Last Show Of The Year Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 12.18.2008 at 7:18 pm

So I didn’t get a post up about last week’s show. I was home in Virginia, it wasn’t easy to pay close attention. I never got to rewatch it, so this week I made sure to park my butt in front of the TV and pay attention!

Kevin and Addison had serious drama this week. Kevin was getting better and decided to go home, complaining that his place was probably a mess. Addison sent her housekeeper over there to clean it up, which ticked Kevin off. That and the fact that she wouldn’t listen to him when he was telling her the cold hard facts about call girls (one of Addison’s patients had confessed she became one to pay her student bills). In the end Kevin basically dumped Addison it seems, using the excuse that she just liked the power and control she had. She never once went to his place, she insisted he recuperate here and then she sent her housekeeper to clean up his place for him. He felt like she liked taking care of him and didn’t want to face he was not rich or live on the beach like her. Frankly, Kevin came off like an ass to me. I mean Addison lived in a trailer with Derrek, I don’t think she has a problem with where Kevin lives. I think Kevin has a serious case of “my girlfriend comes from a rich family, is brilliant and has a high profile and paying job; this makes my penis feel small” syndrome.

Violet and Pete danced around their night of sex, and Meg’s return came to town made things awkward. However they couldn’t seem to keep away from each other, and got caught by Meg in the end. I don’t know if I see a future for these two. I think Pete just wanted a way out of his relationship with Meg. Meanwhile Violet I think liked that Pete was this sexy almost unattainable guy she could brag to Cooper about (now that he and Charlotte are broken up), which in the end he thought she was joking and didn’t believe he was the guy she slept with.

Cooper faced the dilemma of turning in a boy and his father. The father had technically kidnapped the boy, but did so because his mother’s new live-in boyfriend was abusive and she wouldn’t believe him about the guy. Cooper let them run from the hospital, after Charlotte called the cops. Charlotte later covered for Coop so he wouldn’t get in trouble and lose his license. Charlotte always was a witch of a character and basically “the bad gal” of the show, but I’m really starting to get annoyed with her!

Charlotte’s practice kept stealing away Oceanside Wellness’ patients and referrals. The high and mighty doctor up there with his brilliant cancer curing drug came to Naoimi for help getting one of his patients pregnant. She should be dead, but his drug saved her, now she wants a baby. In the end Naomi agreed to help; which Addison and others felt was a betrayal of them and their practice which was struggling. Sam had serious issues, threatening to beat the doctor up if he hurts Naomi in any way. Jealousy? Do we think they might start a little something-something between Naomi and this guy? Sam seems to think so. I’ve always been hoping they’d do a Naomi-Dell thing at some point.

Heroes: Duality Thoughts

Heroes: Duality Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 12.16.2008 at 9:15 pm

Last night was the last new “Heroes” of the year and the end of “Chapter 3: Villains.” There was so much going on in this episode that I’m simply going to post thoughts on all the stories rather than try and recap everything.

Daphne, Ando and Matt came up with a plan to save Hiro. They theorized if they could get the formula and give it to Ando, he could time travel. Okay they clearly aren’t scientists, as I don’t know how they just thought Ando could get the power he wanted. Daphne shot in and out of Pinehurst with a vial for him. He ended up getting a power that acted as a supercharger for others powers. This let Daphne run fast enough to go back in time. She and Ando went back together (I was having issues with how she was dragging Ando along with her!) and they grabbed Hiro, who had just torn the formula in half. Once again I was having issues with this too. Hiro changed the future and who got the catalyst power by going there, yet the tearing up of the formula into two haves was done by him and remained in the same future? I know I shouldn’t nit pick 🙂

Sylar trapped pretty much everyone in Pinehurst, setting up “tests” for them all to show them how easy it was to become a monster. He locked HRG up with Claire’s mom Meridith, who he pumped full of adrenaline so she couldn’t control her fire. HRG was left with a gun and one bullet, off himself or Claire’s mom? Meanwhile he set Claire up to have to rescue either Angela or her dad, tick tock!

Claire saved her dad, while Meredith stayed behind in a cell trying to control her fire. Angela meanwhile revealed to Sylar she wasn’t his mother. Bummer! I liked the idea she was his mother from an affair. However she said she knew who his real parents were, and if he killed her then he’d never know (Well HRG knows too, so not true). Unfortunately for Sylar, Claire jumped him and spiked him in the neck with a glass shard.

Nathan found his dad was dead, which meant he was in charge. He went on an insane power trip, even turning on Tracy. However Peter, with the help of Flint, the Haitian and others set out to destroy the formula. They did so, save for a few vials, one which Peter used on himself at the very end to escape the blaze a dying Flint set to kill everyone, particularly Nathan. Peter flew himself and Nathan out just as the entire place blew! Meredith, at the same time lost control of her power and apparently self-combusted.

Peter has his power back, or does he? Is his lone power now to fly, or was he able to regain all his powers and flying was one he took from Nathan? We didn’t get an answer to that one. I don’t know if I like the idea that Peter only has the one power, that of flight. It would however make him and jhis brother even on the playing field, which I could see them doing to have a showdown. Nathan told Peter later if it was up to him, he would not have saved his life.

Surresh was flooded with the formula in the lab when Peter and Flint tipped the vat over, and it cured him of his abnormalities. I guess we are also to assume he’s left with a power. From the previews he clearly escaped the explosion. Left in question? Sylar, who we all know won’t be dead. Flint? My guess is dead. Meredith? I’m hoping she won’t be dead, but not sure. Tracey? Doubtful again. The Haitian? Not sure what happened to him honestly.

Claire, HRG and Angela escaped for sure. The show ended with Peter meeting with the new president and turning over a folder of all the “Heroes” that he said posed a threat and he wanted rounded up. One of them included a photo of Micah, so it looks like he’ll at least be back. Perhaps his cousin will return as well? That storyline was just dropped all together.

As I posted in the shout box, I felt the whole story with Nathan having the “Heroes” rounded up just falls a little too close to the Xmen comics. We’ll see how they carry it off, but that immediately struck me when watching the previews for the next chapter (along with rumors that the “Heroes” in transport get involved in a pane crash).
