Private Practice Season Finale Spoiler Bits . . . .
Posted by Dustin on 04.24.2010 at 11:31 pm
What follows is the spoiler release for the May 13th season finale of “Private Practice.” I’ll be out of town when it airs, grrr! I know one of you called the drama with Maya long long ago!
- This is the episode where one of the main original recurring characters bites it BTW. Given the way this reads, I’m guessing it’s not Maya or her baby – sounds like one of the staff members! (Notice Violet nor Pete are mentioned anywhere!)
“The End of a Beautiful Friendship”
Maya and her unborn baby are fighting for their lives on the operating table, and Addison, Amelia and Fife try everything humanly possible to save them. Meanwhile, Sam operates on an incoming crash victim and later makes a grim discovery; Cooper makes an ill-timed but valiant effort with Charlotte, and the staff’s world gets rocked by an unexpected death, on the Season Finale of “Private Practice,” THURSDAY, MAY 13 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
I just re-watched the last half-hour of the Madonna episode again and decided to make sure to get some thoughts up pronto
I love Madonna, and I loved SOME of the numbers in this episode, others I questioned why they picked certain songs honestly. I wasn’t a fan of the whole “What it feels like for a girl” number. I get why they picked it, but I didn’t like it. Same for the open your heart/borderline thing.
As much as I love “Like A Prayer,” “Music” might have made a better ending number.
I still loved the Sue/Vogue number, as well as “Express Yourself.” Kurt and Mercedes joining the Cheerios and doing “4 Minutes” was probably my favorite. I did love when Mercedes told Mr. Shue that they were tired of being passed over for solos, and all she did was wail on the final note. So true!
I wasn’t much a fan of the whole virginity storyline going on, but at least Will and Emma are back to trying to be together. I’m still waiting for Terry to come out of the wings and ruin that one.
Rumors have it this episode did so well they want to do a followup to it, but that won’t be till next season. They already shot the finale, and according to Kristin (E!) tweets from the taping, Vocal Adrenaline is doing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” She also mistweeted and made it sound like Jesse was back with them, but quickly corrected her tweet spotting him on set. Hmmm, I think she was covering and Jesse is a spy. He joined New Directions this episode, claiming to want to prove to Rachel he’s not the enemy, even if it means giving up yet another trophy he could win via Vocal Adrenaline.
Well, that’s how D does it! I have to try and relax, I have a conference and a paper I’m presenting bright and early.
Beginning May 2nd, right after encores of select Season 2 “True Blood” episodes, will be some mini-episodes to tide us over till the season 3 premier. It looks like these are individual back stories to fill us in on a variety of things?
“V” gets better and better each week, though sadly it’s quickly coming to and end. I think we will be left with some major cliff hangers at this point.
Chad’s story was for once interesting this week. His dream of Anna attacking him, and his growing suspicions of her were pretty good. I think that UN Prime Minister (or whoever he was) is gunna go missing soon! Chad is no dummy, and it seems like Anna is invading his dreams as she made this comment about how he slept.
Lisa failing the empathy test was also a great story. Clearly her love for Tyler has “jaded” her. With him on the outs with his mom, he wants to live aboard. We still don’t know what Anna wants with him, but my guess Lisa won’t let it happen. Does Anna know the truth about his parentage? Is that why he’s needed. I’m reminded of the special hybrid with “powers” from the original “V.”
The V head doc is keeping Lisa’s failing the test a secret from Anna, as she should have been executed on Anna’s orders. He told her one day he’d call in a favor from her. So she hasn’t been pulled into the 5th Column, but my guess is she’s going to have to help them at one point. I don’t think she’ll join them though, to bring her in might be too much of a risk like the one guy said?
Val realized something was wrong with her baby and headed to a Visitor healing center, and was narrowly caught. Actually from the previews she was, but Ryan killed the doctor and they ran off. I was so looking forward to Ryan telling her the truth , but it looks like we have to wait till next week.
Jack, Erica, and that hired hand they brought in all tracked down someone who was killing off fifth column. In the end it turned out it was a human, a traitor to his own race. When questioned as to why he simply said “We can’t win!” . . . and then the show ended.
Last nights “United States of Tara” was probably one of the best of the new season. I felt the first few episodes were going off in an alien direction.
I am still loving the whole Princess Valhalla Hawkwind think! Kate is such a hoot! I’m not sure where the hell it’s going, but I’m loving the ride.
Charmaine, lord how does this girl keep herself together? She might crack like Tara with all these secrets and men. Now she can’t decide how to tell the real father Neil the truth, but plans to? And she thinks it will just all work out for her?
I am loving Shoshana the therapist personality, and next week it looks like a Jewish Yenta personality comes out? Where the heck is that one coming from? Is Tara part Jewish?
I loved Max coming to Shoshana/Tara of all people to “talk” about things. At the end Tara stood outside her body and watched. This seems new, as I don’t remember her ever being on the outside watching before. She always never knew what her altars were doing before.
The best part, which is getting things back on track, was Tara having memories of some Mimi woman she and Charmaine spent time with when they were little? What’s going on here? Charmaine claims not to remember this woman. A neighbor, or a grandma or aunt the family shunned? The name didn’t sound like something you just call the strange old lady on the block.
Okay so I’m trying to remember what happened on Sunday’s “Army Wives” the best I can I watched it way late in the morning on a re-run . . . .
Jeremy was given a clean bill of health by Roland, or at least told he was making excellent progress. Denise expected him to be given a medical discharge, but the army plans to send him right back into combat. It looks like it’s going to be Denise Vs the Army very soon! From the casting news about Harry Hamlin I posted the other day, I’m guessing he becomes Denise’s lawyer to get Jeremy out of the army. It will be interesting to see which of the Army Wives support her, and how their spouses feel.
Trevor began moonlighting as a pizza delivery man when he and Roxy needed more money. There is still a ban on Roxy’s bar and many other’s on the strip. With Claudia Joy’s help, she and the other owners presented a case to the army that this ban was pointless, as their men were going elsewhere to get into trouble. They proposed all sorts of programs to insure no more issues would happen or be minimized, and they are on a trial period with it.
Lenore of course got all up in Claudia Joy’s face about this, and how Claudia Joy chased her off and humiliated her once before. Claudia Joy pointed out Lenore did that all on her own. See the show hasn’t forgotten what happened, so how could they expect us to believe the Army has and has nominated this scheming witch for that Spencer Award? I hope Lenora goes down hard yet again, but worry she might come out on top this time.
Chase is gone on his training, so there wasn’t much developed with his and Pam’s story.
Joan received an eye/cornea transplant which has allowed her to see again. Breaking protocol, she found out who her donor was and wrote the wife of the man killed in combat a thank you letter. It was very very touching, let’s just hope it doesn’t get Joan or someone in trouble. It will be interesting to see where Joan’s story goes from here. Even with her eyesight back, it’s probably not perfect nor good enough for her to return to combat again (though this is TVland). Roland and Denise butted heads over Jeremy being discharged, as he defended Jeremy going back to work because it is what Joan would do and what the army expects. I have a feeling it might be Joan who sides with Denise in her case against the Army and not Roland.
Brothers and Sisters: What the BLEEP is Narrow Lake!
Posted by Dustin on 04.20.2010 at 12:52 am
So we still have many unanswered questions after the latest episode of “Brothers and Sisters” and I am getting annoyed I have to say. I want some answers!
Robert learned he didn’t get his top secret job, which would have meant relocating to D.C. We still, however, don’t know what it is! He didn’t get it and still won’t tell us or Kitty. Seriously? He didn’t get the job because of his heart condition and elevated heart rate. My guess is that was a big clue, and Robert is going to have a fatal heart attack soon.
Luc has only a week or so left before he has to leave. He is sure he’ll be back, but Sarah isn’t as confident. Luc wanted to leave his things with her as a show he’d be back, but all Sarah could think is that the airlines will see him as a terrorist if he’s taking a one way trip with little to no things.
Kevin still remained upset with his mom, who was planning a birthday party for him that he was refusing to attend. They did work things out though. Kevin felt his dad kept the truth from him because he thought Kevin was weak, which is what York told him. Nora said that wasn’t true, and William never really knew Kevin. Nora confided she always knew he was gay, she knew what happened that night and what was going on, but she needed Kevin to come out to her in his own time.
Tommy still remains around and he, Kevin and Justin attempted to make a deal with York to get him to back off. York however knew Ojai was in trouble, banks are calling in loans and it’s only a matter of time before he can buy them out. Rebecca sunk her 2 million dollars her mom gave her in the company to buy them time. It worked, and they got geological reports on Narrow Lake. However yet again . . . they still can’t figure out what it is and why it’s worth so much. I’m so annoyed, I am dying to know the secret. I have a feeling we are going to be strung along until the season finale on this one.
The good news came at the end of the show with Kevin and Scotty getting the news that their surrogate is finally pregnant. Next week, from the previews, it looks like someone else in the family may also be pregnant.
So, anyone have any new guesses on what the heck Narrow Lake is?
Spoilers for the first full week in May. Highlights include . . . .
- No shock here, Tyler gets invited to live abord with the Vs
- “Grey’s” gets a very big patient, while Naomi tries to save a dying William on “Practice.”
- Lynette learns the truth about Eddie, while Patrick goes after Tyler on “Housewives.”
- The Walkers are about to lose Ojai on “Brothers and Sisters” Read More »
Info : Please, resolve the addition below before post any new comment...
Dustin : I agree, they are gonna have to kill CJ for it to be a shock, but I don't think they will
Guest_3468 : Found army wives ending really blah, been done too many times by them especially with that character
Dustin : About to sit down and watch the Army Wives! They return June 24th, long ways away
Dustin : Gunna write a post this weekend about which shows I'm looking forward to this fall! I'll try and add in all the promo videos for each as well.
Guest_3468 : This just might put me off the show for good, can't believe it was her, Shonda sucks, crappy addison sam obsession and now this
Dustin : I have some major issues with this one, as . . . . well I'll save it for after the show with my write up
Jay : So sad!
Dustin : Well this sucks!
Dustin : No it's been said its a real and permanent death, so I don't think it's one of the people whose contracts were up in the air. I heard they all would be in positions to stay or leave by the end of the season and that's how they'd be written out if they left
Guest_4669 : I heard that Shonda wrote the finale before contracts were resigned, so I'm not sure if there will be a clear answer tonight as to who dies. I think that there will be a lot of potential victims. I know this sounds morose, but I'd like to see someone come out of the accident with long lasting injuries. With the exception of PTSD (and other mental problems) it seems like people on this show bounce back from injuries too quick.
Guest_3699 : After watching the 6 min preview I'm wondering if they aren't going to do someone stupid like the captain of the plane.
Dustin : I hate that they failed April too. So lame!
Guest_4669 : I don't want Adele to die, but I think that will be too easy. I'm still angry over April failing, but will wait to comment on your thoughts to voice that opinion. (This is the only GA board I comment on so I have been holding onto these thoughts for a few weeks ha ha.)
Dustin : Though I also think there is a possibily the plane crash is a fake out, and it's still Adele who dies
Dustin : I think Arizona or Mark is gunna kick the bucket. I am thinking it will be Arizona, as then who will Lexie have?
Guest_4669 : Hey Dustin - any predictions for the Grey's Finale?
Dustin : I'll get my Once Thoughts up tonight. Have a draft. But now I'm off to see Dark Shadows My main questions really are about the haze, and also when the heck did Regina figure out who Emma was? This episode?
Dustin : I didn't think the queen looked that happy? I'm gonna have to watch it again. I am also not certain when Regina figured out who Emma was? Was it in this episode?
Guest_1607 : Like how they ended Housewives but hated the whole ghost thing.
Dustin : I'll get thoughts on both finales up a little later.
Guest_2158 : I think the purple haze is going to bring magic to storybrooke, hence the reason Gold wanted the love potion and the Queen looked happy/devious when she saw it.
Sean : I think DH went out on a very high note. The stories coming out about Terri and her bitchiness are really piling up.
Sean : Once was great tonight and really satisfying and tied up most story lines and set the tone for next season.
Sean : I only watched Once (LUV IT) and I would have dropped Grimm if it had been on any other night but enjoy it now, the second half was very strong. I gave up (mostly) on Network shows because they have such a high mortality rate. I'll commit to Cable and Premium shows because they usually go for 3 season minimum and although a shorter season they air all the eps in a row. Besides, with network shows only doing 20 -22 thats not much more than the 13 of cable et all.
Dustin : I wanna slap Tom, even in the finale.
Dustin : Wow what do we think the Purple Haze does? Make them high lol
Dustin : Last Housewives tonight! Gunna be sad Finale Once for the year too!
CGinCA : Dustin, I too had bad luck this year on new shows to get hooked on. And a few of the shows that I tried one or two episodes and gave up on as being short lived are returning..... Not fair.
Guest_1633 : Me too on circle and GCB. I really like both of those shows.
Dustin : I'm still upset about Circle and GCB! I am glad Body of Proof is coming back though
Guest_3468 : Ringer really made it too confusing for people to stay tuned in I was surprised at The Secret Circle, I thought it would make it after it's surges at the end
Guest_3750 : So sad about Ringer and GCB!
Julie : I can't believe they cancelled Ringer! I loved that show!
Dustin : I think every new show I picked up save for Grimm and Once has gotten canceled! This SUCKS!
Dustin : A lot of people suspect Arizona, because that paves the way for Karev to take over Pedes
