Desperate Housewives: Beth Loves Paul?

Desperate Housewives: Beth Loves Paul?

Posted by Dustin on 11.15.2010 at 2:34 pm

So another awesome episode of “Desperate Housewives!”

Crazy Beth Tillman/Young seems to be falling for her husband Paul, which has Felicia going nuts. Paul has convinced her that not only did he not kill Martha Huber, but Felicia Tillman is nuts, off her rocker, always has been. Beth was sneaky, bringing up what neighbors and friends of Felicia said to her. Beth than began to look at her life and relationship with her mom and wondered maybe her mother was nuts. Paul was so good, he had me wondering if he was innocent. I had to think hard (cause it’s been so long), but I do believe we did see Paul kill Martha (I think he clubbed her and strangled her?).

Gabby and Carlos invited Grace and her parents (whose names I keep forgetting) over for Thanksgiving. Long story short, Gabby got the husband pulled over when she nagged him to drive on the shoulder to get around some traffic. He was illegal, as is his wife. The husband (Hector, I remembered his name!) is being deported, while Gabby and Carlos (especially Gabby) are trying to convince the wife to let them try and help her. She however wants to run. Gabby’s already formulating a plan to have Grace stay with them . . . so she gets to keep both daughters basically. Oh Gabby, I have been expecting it, but I don’t like it. Now had they killed the parents . . . that’s one thing. Gabby is just scheming to keep both of the kids now though, and I don’t like that. Also, I could have sworn there was some law/issue with deporting an illegal parent (should their kid be born in the US). I’m not up on those legalities, but I thought often the mother is allowed to stay (though the father is sent packing).

Bree invited Keith’s parents over for Thanksgiving, where they promptly fought with one another and Keith’s mom announced she wanted a divorce. This tore Keith up, who felt like marriage was not something that lasted. Bree gave him a huge pep talk about how he had to believe in marriage, she still does; and his dad told Keith this had been years coming now. What Bree didn’t know is Keith has a ring and had originally planned to propose to her over a quiet Thanksgiving . . . oops! Now there are bigger problems. Keith’s dad thinks Bree is a “very special lady.” Creepy stalker man! I think Keith’s dad is going to make a play for Bree.

Renee hosted Thanksgiving for Lynette, Susan and family . . . though the kids had to eat outside in the driveway. Susan and Lynette battled over sleep training Paige, while Tom tried to avoid Renee giving their past . . . I really hate that they are doing this to Lynette and Tom frankly. Enough of Tom’s secret past flings!

Private Practice: The Doctors Figure Out What Happened To Charlotte

Private Practice: The Doctors Figure Out What Happened To Charlotte

Posted by Dustin on 11.14.2010 at 7:22 pm

Yet another amazing episode of “Private Practice” this week. KaDee Strictland better land herself an emmy for these episodes!

Charlotte returned to work, but throughout the episode everyone began having their suspicions as to whether Charlotte was raped. Addison finally came out and told Sam. She also revealed she did a rape kit without Charlotte knowing, but hadn’t had it processed. By the end of the episode he convinced her to call the cops and have it done. They kept discussing all these legal ramifications, like how if Addision didn’t follow through with the kit and report she could lose her job. Can’t she also lose it for doing the kit without the patients consent? I am guessing she did it only because the day might come when Charlotte regretted not having one done.

Violet tried to reach out to Charlotte over her attack, talking about what Katie did to her (cutting her baby out). Charlotte reacted angrily telling Violet that she couldn’t relate to what she went through. This tipped Violet off, and she talked to Pete later. Pete also believed Charlotte was raped, but didn’t know for sure. Pete also knew Violet was raped as well, though she never told him. He picked up on it based on her reactions to patients in the past. I had wondered if they planned to bring this up. She had only ever talked to Cooper about it before. I was beginning to think it would be one of those forgotten TV land facts. I’m glad Violet will be there to hopefully help Charlotte heal.

Violet confided in Charlotte about her own rape back in college, saying she did understand what she was going through. Charlotte didn’t say anything, but later destroyed her office in a rage . . . and then asked Amelia to take her to a meeting.

Violet and Sheldon had a powwow, and Sheldon began to really put the pieces together with the perp the cops were holding.

The only person who hasn’t yet figured it out, and has the most evidence to do so (outside of Addison), is Cooper. I don’t know if it is because he is in denial about it, or he is afraid of how Charlotte will react if he breaks it up. Also of note, Addison keeps reminding Charlotte she needs to follow up on HIV screenings and other STDs. While clearly she is not sleeping with Cooper anytime soon, I’m shocked it hasn’t been brought up that she is going to have to tell Cooper because at some point he will be at risk as well (if Charlotte has HIV that is).

Oh and as if the main story wasn’t heartbreaking enough, the show had to throw in the obligatory dying child storyline . . . . boo! There was also an interesting storyline dealing with an abusive wife.

Next week has Charlotte’s secret out, and her facing pressing charges against her attacker. I also think this is the last new episode for awhile because of the Thanksgiving holidays. Grrrrrr, just when it was finally getting good!

Grey’s Anatomy: Callie Gets A Hair Cut

Grey’s Anatomy: Callie Gets A Hair Cut

Posted by Dustin on 11.12.2010 at 8:12 pm

So it’s been awhile since I posted on “Grey’s Anatomy,” so I thought I better get a thoughts post up. I really liked this week’s episode, so that made it easy. However some quick comments on last week . . . .

Oh no they did not do that to Calzona! A lot of people cheered Arizona on as she gave Callie the “you are ruining Africa for me” speech. I however was on Callie’s side. It’s not often you find someone who is willing to give up their job, their life, their friends to move with you and follow you where your job takes you. So yes Callie had a right to be a pissy, but she was still going with Arizona because she felt she was worth it in the end. For Arizona to cast her aside and basically say “Your ruining this for me” to me translated as “This is more important than you or us, and I don’t want you bringing it down.” I am hoping when we see Arizona again she is also ready to kiss butt and beg for forgiveness. Here is hoping she tells Callie she didn’t want her coming, because she’d have to look at her every day and know that Callie was willing to give up everything for me, but I clearly wasn’t willing to give up Africa for her.

As for this week, Hunt and Teddy were busy working on a top secret and important patient from the Middle East, his survival was basically paramount to maintaining peace there. At the same time everyone had begun to learn Christina quit, and many, including Derek, placed the blame on Teddy.

Christina and Callie bonded over their pain and what not. I laughed so hard when Christina cut Callie’s hair off (after she was contemplating out loud a haircut). When Christina butchered it, they had to go to the mall. Callie now has a hot sassy hair cut with blue highlights. Very nice! She is also moving back in with Mark. YES! These two are the best best friends, possibly even more fun than Meredith and Christina.

Karev and April were assigned to work with the new Pediatric attending (Peter MacNicol), who as it turns out, is as big of an ass as Karev. He not only doesn’t seem to care about the kids, he stole Karev’s suggestion on saving a kid and tried to pass it off as his own work. April made sure people, aka The Chief, knew who came up with the life saving surgery. Just when it looked like April and Karev would be getting it on, he turned into the jackass he normally is. He wasn’t alone though, Avery has a huge anger chip growing on his shoulder two, and the two got into a huge fight over Alex being an ass to April.

What we did learn was that Alex, who claimed he went to Vegas for a friend’s bachelor party, really had to go home. His brother got diagnosed as a schizophrenic and he had to commit him. His mom is also off her pills and not doing well. We learned Alex has a 16 year old sister, whom I’m guessing will probably be showing up in Seattle shortly. Hey they need to soften Alex somehow, this is probably it.

Derek and Christina, who planned a housewarming party but hid from everyone when she found out they all planned to confront her on quitting, bonded on the rooftalk over home maintenance and interior decorating. Loved it! Word has it these two take a trip together in an upcoming episode with Derek trying to help Christina get back in the game.

9021…Oh No Jen Ran Too!

9021…Oh No Jen Ran Too!

Posted by Dustin on 11.10.2010 at 7:04 pm

So this week on 90210, a big celebrity party was going on and everyone who was anyone was going.

Navid and Silver set out to determine if Navid’s dad was knowingly casting under age girls, and he was. He lashed out at Navid because his job gave Navid the house he lived in and his car and all the money he had. Navid later blabbed to a teacher, who is apparently reporting it . . . . I have a feeling Navid might not be rich for much longer.

Victor made Adrianna go to the party with Joe Jonas, because it was better publicity. In the end though she came forward on the red carpet and named Navid as her boyfriend. It seems they made up, but right before that Navid and Silver were getting way too close for comfort. Yup, looks like a West Bev Love Triangle coming up.

Adrianna did finally grow a brain and wouldn’t take Victor’s crap anymore. She knew he wasn’t going to tell anyone what she did, because then he would be making zero money. She said she was calling the shots from now on. Uh oh . . . . fame is about to go to her head even more it would seem. That leaves Navid to bond even more with Silver!

Naomi and Ivy teamed up to teach Oliver a lesson, leaving him naked in a pool in the middle of a big celebrity party.

Jen felt like a horrible mother and a failure at it. The holy shiz moment came when little Jack/Jaque rolled right off the changing table and onto the floor. Hello get the kid to the hospital, don’t look at him and just say “he’s okay.” That’s what Ryan did, Jen went nuts over her latest poor parenting mishap. At the end of the show, Ryan found a note from Jen saying Jaque would be better off with him and without her. Yup, she split! I did not like this, because they had just made Jen tolerable and likable. Now she’s gone? No!

Dixon and Annie’s went to visit their dad, only to learn Harry has moved on and moved in with another woman. They were shocked, and their mom pretended she knew about it but didn’t know how to tell them. Later though she broke down to Ryan she didn’t know, and she feels like all her years with Harry meant nothing to him. It seems like they are really aiming towards the mom and Ryan possibly pairing up. I don’t know if I like that idea at all.

Desperate Housewives: Beth Tillman!

Desperate Housewives: Beth Tillman!

Posted by Dustin on 11.08.2010 at 12:31 pm

So some very good guessing from some of you. The big reveal this week is that Beth is Felicia Tillman’s daughter, and she is with Paul playing the revenge game just as he is.

Paul’s plan, as much as we know, is to bring in ex-cons to populate the houses he’s buying up and make the neighborhood living hell for those he hates so much in it.

I can honestly see Carlos sticking up for them, and possibly even Susan after this last episode. It will turn everyone against each other. But he must have a bigger plan at the same time . . . is it really just that simple?

Renee and Lynette formed an interior decorating business (because they went to design school at some point and I missed this?). Lynette however needed a nanny, and Renee hired Susan . . . who thought she was going to be part of the business. It lead to some bad feelings between her and Lynette, but in the end Susan needed whatever job she was offered at that point. Of course the irony is that Susan is the only one with any kind of artistic background, so she is the one they probably need. I can see that happening at some point possibly.

Bree started going through “The Change” and didn’t want to tell Keith. This led to awkwardness when her new doctor turned out to be Keith’s mother! She eventually told him, but he didn’t care. However there is still the issue of kids, Keith wants them and Bree is done with them.

Finally Gabby helped get Bob and Lee back together, after at first fearing Bob was making a play for Carlos. The two bonded over sports, which shocked gay stereotyping Gabby. Lee warned her that Bob was known as flipper in college, because he got all sorts of straight guys to flip sides for him. Gabby had the best line of the whole show. After being shocked that Bob did not like show tunes, opera, or know who designed her dress he replied “Give me a beer and a college basketball game and I’m happy.” Her response was “Do you kiss boys with that mouth!”

Private Practice: Did You Hear What Happened To Charlotte King?

Private Practice: Did You Hear What Happened To Charlotte King?

Posted by Dustin on 11.05.2010 at 9:11 pm

So the big “Private Practice” episode aired last night. Even though we knew what was going to happen from the spoilers, the whole episode was just shocking from beginning to end.

The entire episode centered around the aftermath of Charlotte’s attack at the hospital. There Addison and Pete helped mend her, while she told the cops she was simply robbed, that was all. Addison knew better, and Charlotte admitted to only her that she was raped. However she wanted no one to know. Addison tried to tell her that as a doctor, she knew what her responsibilities were (to report the crime), and as a woman she herself had to report the rape to stop it from happening to someone else. Charlotte however wouldn’t have it. She wanted nobody to look at her the way Addison was, especially not Cooper.

Meanwhile Sheldon was brought into the police station where a man was picked up, covered in blood, but nobody knew what he had done. As Sheldon talked to him, it became clear he was disturbed and had raped someone. But without someone coming forward, with his DNA not in the system from previous attacks, they couldn’t hold him more than 72 hours. It was clear he was Charlotte’s rapist.

That NO ONE asked Charlotte point blank if she was raped, or even seemed to suspect it, irked me. I mean it was like the cops, the nurses, the forensic team all knew, but wouldn’t ask THE question. Is that not their job? They made it a point to have Cooper and Violet see her office. Clearly more than a robbery for her purse took place in there. The previews for next week had Sheldon and Violet discussing whether they thought Charlotte was raped and was not talking about it.

As much as everything irked me, the episode was amazing. They are clearly building up to the big moment and revelation. I have this horrible feeling Sheldon might take on the rapist as a patient, and Charlotte will come face to face with him right in the office.

In an online interview, Jane Lynch revealed that Sue is going to get married to someone in an upcoming episode. The episode has been filmed, and we may even have met the groom already.

Ausiello (who has left EW and moving to a new site) posted a tweet and tip that Sue may also become Principal at some point soon. What, replace Figgens? Unacceptable!

Anyways, here is a final look at Kurt’s new love interest covering “Teenage Dreams” from the next episode of “Glee” (via Perez Hilton)

9021…Oh No, Where Did Mr. Cannon Go!

9021…Oh No, Where Did Mr. Cannon Go!

Posted by Dustin on 11.03.2010 at 8:21 pm

So here are my latest thoughts on “90210,” which in part extend over the past two episodes (since I didn’t post a thoughts last week).

Dixon and Ivy . . . I really liked them originally, now I’m just over them. Dixon told Ivy everything, and they tried working things out, but she finally broke down and told him about sleeping with Oscar. He simply walked off, leaving her standing there by herself. Ouch! Dixon handled things poorly, but so did Ivy. She did more than just jump in bed with Oscar, she has been fighting feelings for him for awhile and Dixon was always worried about that. This just confirmed that for him. She however has not had the chance to explain what a jerk Oscar really is.

Teddy battled rumors spread that he had sexual performance issues, which only put more of a strain on him personally. He has been smiling a lot at the guy he beat up and was nasty too though . . . by the end of the latest episode Teddy stormed off on Navid and Dixon, claiming he was walking home. I think however he’s walking to the nearest gay bar from the spoilers!

Navid learned his dad (who apparently makes porn movies, I guess I forgot about that) cast a girl from Navid’s school . . . an underage girl . . . in one of his movies. Uh oh! Does Navid get his dad in trouble by coming forward and trying to help the girl? My guess is yes. My guess is also that Silver will help him through this as Adrianna will be too busy with her career.

Adrianna meanwhile didn’t dump Victor when the shirtless photos she took (but covering her boobage with her arms) landed her on covers of magazines and back in the spotlight. She decided to stick with him, angering Navid. At some point BOTH of them are going to go down in flames.

The big story however was with Oscar and Naomi busting Cannon. Naomi finally pressed charges against Cannon. Mr. Matthews (who really needs his beard back, without it his young age shows!) came forward about what he saw that night, but because he was drunk and ran into the school sign, was suspended himself. I’m glad they brought that issue back, I thought they’d forgotten all about it.

I’m not sure why they are making Oscar out to be a good guy. Though technically he only was helping Naomi (at first) because he liked her. I loved that she basically wouldn’t give him the time of day and as a reward offered him her expensive pen, rather than a date with her.

Naomi, thanks to Oscar pinpointing Cannon’s “fake” Chelsea accent, learned he was not who he said he was. He was wanted in the UK under a whole other name (Douglas Allerton) for raping a student there as well. However when the cops went to arrest him . . . he was gone! You know this means he’s going to show back up at some point seeking revenge . . . watch out Naomi! Here is hoping he gets himself killed, or badly beaten in the end. Of course if it’s the former, then you know Naomi or Jen will be major suspects.
