ABC’s Once Upon A Time Pilot Thoughts

ABC’s Once Upon A Time Pilot Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 10.23.2011 at 3:11 pm

So as I already posted, the pilot for this amazing show hit the web this past week, and I cheated and watched it. I plan to rewatch it tonight to pick up on anything I missed, and to see it on TV (rather than my netbook, which is where I watched it).

If you haven’t seen it yet, read this post AFTER you watch the show! I’m not giving too much away, but I don’t want to spoil this amazing show.

So the one thing I was unsure of from the pilot was whether the evil queen/mayor had memories in the real world as to what she’d done, or if like everyone else under the curse she too had forgotten who she was? She seemed surprised when Emma told her about Henry’s fairytale fantasies. But then again, she had the book about them all, which it seems is how Henry found out the truth.

If she does know, did she purposely adopt Henry, being he’s Emma’s son? If so, why? Just more punishment for Snow White and Prince Charming? She genuinely seemed upset that Henry had found his birth mom as it was supposed to be a closed adoption. She also seemed to want Emma to leave town, which if she knows who she is, makes sense. But according to Henry, once in town she’d be trapped like the others.

Secret Circle: The Circle Is Still Complete!

Secret Circle: The Circle Is Still Complete!

Posted by Dustin on 10.21.2011 at 7:08 pm

This week on “The Secret Circle” we learned that the circle is in fact still complete. It seems Nick, who is very very dead, has a brother named Jake. Jake was Faye’s ex, and pretty much hated all around town. However Cassie’s grandmother revealed that they didn’t just bind the circle between the six of them, but their bloodlines. So Jake still completes the circle.

We also learned even with a broken circle they still had powers, they just would never be at their strongest. So Jake was needed to fight off the evil coming their way. Cassie’s grandma revealed to her that her bloodline was the strongest, and she was born to lead. Grandma also gave her their families crystal, which would enhance her powers without the need for the circle . . . but she should never tell anyone about it . . . as it was the most coveted type of magic. Dawn and Charles, meanwhile, are trying to uncover other crystals to help restore their powers. Charles doesn’t seem to be the villain the pilot made him out to be. I think it’s really all Dawn and her controlling him.

Cassie’s Grandma made the mistake of revealing to Dawn that she knew about the circle, and they needed to watch over them. For now Dawn thinks Grandma is not a threat . . . Yeah this is going to spell trouble at some point.

We also learned the kids have more to worry about than just demons. A group of witch hunters is seeking them out. Unfortunately Jake has aligned with them, apparently wanting to eradicate witches to avenge his parents death.

Right now it seems Jake is just a guest star. Whether he’ll become a real cast member or not? Well they seem to indicate they need a complete circle to fight off the evil coming their way. So unless someone else has a secret sibling we don’t know about, it would have to be Jake?

Grey’s Anatomy: Less Talking, More Sexing!

Grey’s Anatomy: Less Talking, More Sexing!

Posted by Dustin on 10.21.2011 at 6:37 pm

So the theme on this week show seemed to be that nobody wanted to talk to one another.

Derek and Meredith had a “no talking about work” rule, which seemed to be working for them. But in reality they were just ignoring the problems that are the issues in their marriage. Meredith was also working in Ortho to be near Zola.

Christina and Owen weren’t talking at all, unless it involved sexting one another! They too are ignoring the bigger issue.

Callie felt Mark and Arizona were doing too much talking (and cooking) and it was interfering in her sex life.

The Chief didn’t want to talk to Bailey about what she was screwing up with the diabetes trial, so he used Meredith, who was being used by April, who Bailey initially hired to be her assistant. When Meredith (with the Chief’s help) figured out what was wrong, Bailey was fuming and fired April and told Meredith to stay away from her trial.

5th year was starting to get to the residents. They had to defend any bad surgeries during their boards, so they have been playing it way too safe. I have a feeling Meredith will end up being the rock star of the group in the end.

I actually really liked this episode. It was for the most part light, upbeat and funny. I really loved that April finally found her voice and told the others that they had to do what she said or she’d make their lives a living hell. It’s about time. Go April!

The whole “not talking” about the issues thing is eventually going to bite all the couples in the butt. But for a change it was nice seeing Derek being civil to Meredith.

Revenge: The First Death

Revenge: The First Death

Posted by Dustin on 10.20.2011 at 7:56 pm

Just got caught up on last nights “Revenge” in which Lydia met her end at Frank’s hands. Wow! Guess she shouldn’t have tried to get back into the Hamptons.

I’m still wondering why Grayson Global did what they did, and framed Emily/Amanda’s father. Did their company somehow take off big after the scandal? They clearly used what they did for PR image in creating a charity for victims, partly from Victoria’s own guilt.

Emily’s game is getting more dangerous, and too many people are getting too close. She can’t keep it up for much longer. We know from the pilot she gets as far as an engagement party with Daniel, which seems to be the end for him (I guess we don’t know if he’s really dead or not). My guess is when we get back to that point, her game will quickly be exposed, and then she better run!

Also many of you (in comments) seemed to be right about Daniel’s old college buddy! From the previews it looks like he’s gay and wants Daniel for himself.

First reported by TV Line it’s now being reported all over that Chord Overstreet is in negotiations to return to “Glee” as Sam in time for December. Yay! But that could mean a big love triangle for Mercedes, who is dating a new guy now.

American Horror Story: Horrific Origins Revealed!

American Horror Story: Horrific Origins Revealed!

Posted by Dustin on 10.19.2011 at 10:45 pm

Once again we’ve been introduced to a whole new set of ghosts on “American Horror Story,” but it seems some of the cast might not be ghosts after all. Which are and which aren’t? I’m still scratching my head.

The opener had the back story with Constance and the maid Moira. Moira slept with Constance’s husband once, he later tried to rape her, but Constance walked in and shot them both. She shot Moira in the head, which gave her the nasty eye. I’m confused that since she died young, why does she appears so old to everyone but men (a detective saw Moira in the house as young and sexy).

There was also some talk between the two in the present. Moira wished Constance was dead . . . so maybe she isn’t dead? But later Moira said she wished she could get out of this world and see her mother again . . . Constance said she too wanted out of this world of death and rot but they were both stuck here. I couldn’t figure out if Constance was dead or not! She does seem to leave the house, where as others definitely don’t. There was a scene of her walking dogs and looking at Tate standing in the window of the house, but while the realtor could see Connie, she didn’t see the boy.

Vivian was determined to sell the house, but Ben revealed their accountant made bad investments, almost all their cash is tied up in the house . . . of course! Vivian was still determined to sell the house, but at the same time wanted to learn about the history. She took the murder house tour bus to learn about it. We got flashbacks to the original owners, a doctor, his wife and their baby. It was an unhappy marriage, they too sunk too much money into the house and were broke. The wife made the husband start performing abortions for Hollywood starlet wannabes. We learned they performed 12 of them before the real tragedy struck.

Later in the show the wife started to show up and haunt Vivian. Vivian thought initially she was coming to look at the house, never realizing the back of her head is blown off! She kept talking about her baby, and later we saw her sitting by Vivian’s bed as she slept and feeling her baby. We don’t know what became of her husband or child yet, but clearly this is what the creepy beginning is all about.

Ben’s tryst from Boston Hayden showed up crazy as ever, and still pregnant. In the end the burned guy, Larry Harvey killed her! He buried the body in the garden area, which Ben kept digging in for some odd reason. Constance told him the soil was dead, he should put in a patio and a gazebo out there. When Larry finished the grave, he found Moira’s body! We watched Ben build the gazebo on top of them both, and Constance told a crying Moira “Now she’s really stuck here for good!”

I can’t decide if Larry is a ghost or not too. I mean clearly the other ghosts in the house have been able to kill people. But bury them? If Constance is still alive, then that explains how she got rid of the home invader bodies.

Confused!

Ringer: Goodbye Gemma?

Ringer: Goodbye Gemma?

Posted by Dustin on 10.19.2011 at 10:12 pm

So the latest “Ringer” definitely seemed to seal the deal on Gemma’s death. I guess there is a chance she isn’t dead, but being held hostage, but I doubt it. I definitely loved that what appeared last week with Henry killing her was not at all what it seemed. He only found a mess and blood, no Gemma, and cleaned it up thinking Siobhan killed her.

I was really confused when Bridget appeared to be turning Henry into the cops, calling and saying she believed Gemma was killed and then said where to find the bloody rags Henry disposed. But at the very end we found out she put her prints on the things to throw the track off Henry and I guess herself (her being Siobhan). But now that creepy guy she’s really running from will get tipped off!

In the end, we learned Siobhan (in Paris) was the one who had some man back home take care of Gemma. Whoever it is, they must be fairly close to Bridget/Siobhan as to know Gemma was about to blow things out of the water?

I’m so confused, but still loving the show. Oh and where has her poor sponsor been taken off to now? Her original one that is.
