Grey’s Anatomy: Crumbling Lives and Relationships

Grey’s Anatomy: Crumbling Lives and Relationships

“Grey’s” has been really dark and unhappy lately. While the show has always been a bit morbid, I think we are in need of an uplifting episode stat! It just seems like watching the show is a depressing drag because of what is going on as of late.

Christina and Meredith’s war has gotten so out of hand, and it’s really sad to see that they may not be able to repair their fractured friendship. I have been on Meredith’s side up until this episode. The fact that she wouldn’t let Christina use her awesome 3D printer to save a baby’s life really annoyed me, even more than Christina waiting until the last minute to ask Meredith if she could use it. Boooooo! I loved Alex telling her that she’s a good surgeon, but today she was a crummy doctor!

Arizona is still caring on her affair . . .fling . . . whatever with Murphy. Really? So they are really just gunna end Callie and Arizona like this? I was pissed at Callie, but deep down hoped they might work things out. However it doesn’t look like that will happen.

Ben returned to Seattle, giving up his surgical internship because he missed Bailey. She was thrown for a loop by his return, and then a surgery involving a colon turned her into an OCD mess as she worried about another MRSA infection. By the end of the episode she seemed to be completely falling apart. What’s up with Bailey? Please don’t lock her up in the psych ward!

The one light aspect of the show seemed to be that The Chief has his gumption back and now wants to get out of his bed and better.

Spoilers for the next two episodes below!

Sleepy Hallow: The Horseman Rides Again!

Sleepy Hallow: The Horseman Rides Again!

“Sleepy Hallow” finally returned last night after a brief hiatus. Ichabod ended up being kidnapped by the Freemasons, who are also out to stop the Horseman. We learned it was the Masons that Katrina hid his body from way back when, as they knew killing him even then would also kill the horseman due to their blood link. Most of the show dealt with Ichabod’s past and how he met Katrina and turned on his country to fight for the side of the colonies during the revolution. Basically Ichabod, like Abby and Jennifer, has the gift to see demons as they really are.

Katrina meanwhile came to Abby in a vision to implore her to find a sin-eater to sever the ties between Ichabod and the Horseman. Okay I have to say that Katrina could have picked a better time to come to Abby. She almost got Abby killed sending her a vision while she was driving a car. How would that have helped Ichabod at all?

Renard’s missing brother from “Grimm” turned up as the head of the Masons who kidnapped Ichabod. They gave him poison to drink, and Ichabod did so willingly knowing it was what needed to be done to kill the horseman. However Abby, along with sis Jennifer, managed to find Walter from “Fringe” who was the sin-eater that could help Ichabod. Ichabod was tied to the horseman by a sin he carried around, not their blood. Letting that sin go, the death of someone he blamed himself for, is what freed him from the horseman.

Of course all this was fine and dandy, but now the horseman is back and coming. I was confused here, I thought he was already back? They kept talking like he just woke up tonight?

Also they kept making it a point that Ichabod and Abby are special as they both have the gift to “bear witness” and thus only they can destroy the horseman. Hello, her sister has that gift too I believe? Why is she suddenly left out?

It’s clear that Abby has feelings for Ichabod, and I think that will become a huge problem as I don’t think Katrina is really dead either. I think she’s trapped somewhere as one witch said a few episodes back. Her bones are definitely not in her grave, that’s where they found the horseman’s head.

Once Upon A Time: Storybrooke Ahead!

Once Upon A Time: Storybrooke Ahead!

Posted by Dustin on 11.04.2013 at 8:03 pm

So last week’s “Once Episode” was the sad story of Captain Hook’s origins and how he ended up Pan’s rival. It was not as exciting as I hoped it would be. Hook at least was able to cure David/Charming of his nightshade poisoning. Oh but there is a catch, he can’t leave Neverland as he will die if he does. Uh Oh! Please don’t keep this show tied to this island any longer than it has to be! Please!

Pan devilishly told Hook about Neil being alive and on the island, because he knew Hook and Emma were becoming a thing and that this would throw a wrench into that thing. This week Hook told David and Mary, and while the men wanted to make sure Pan wasn’t saying this to be cruel and to keep it from Emma until confirmation, Mary refused and told her that Neil may be alive. They later set out to find him, he was supposed to be hidden in some cave. However just like with everything on this island, there is a price to pay, a secret fear or truth has to be revealed to gain entrance. Mary admitted that as much joy that she has from finding Emma again, they missed her life, she didn’t get to be a mother. She wants another baby. Charming then had to admit he could never leave Neverland, and told her about the poison.

This week’s big draw was of course the entrance of Ariel the Little Mermaid. She rescued long haired snow in the past as she was on the run from Regina’s men. Ariel was of course in love with Eric, but he didn’t know she was a mermaid, as they only met once when she rescued him from a ship wreck. Snow was determined to help her, and then in stepped Regina with a plot to get Snow. Regina disguised herself as Ursula, who was only a myth to Ariel’s people, but did so and appeared to grant Ariel’s wish. She would allow Ariel to stay on land forever, and in exchange Snow would become a mermaid and could get away from the evil queen. Ariel thought it was a great idea, but Snow didn’t and saw it for the trap it was. When Regina did manifest and reveal her trickery, Ariel saved Snow, but at the price of losing her legs and voice forever. Meanwhile back at her castle, the real Ursula, well a weird CGI version of her, appeared in Regina’s mirror. She warned her that she is no myth, she is very real, and Regina better never impersonate her again! I think it’s a clue that we will eventually see Ursula. Whether that will be this season or next, who knows. I hope they land someone excellent to play her.

Meanwhile in the present Neverland, Rumple keeps talking to Belle’s image, who Regina sees and realizes is a trick of Pan’s, one of his shadows. So apparently he hasn’t been talking to himself all along. We got another clue as to the relationship between Pan and Rumple. Rumple knows how to kill pan, but to do so would be killing himself? Is Pan some weird fractured piece of Rumple’s childhood? I’m so confused! Regina and Rumple set out to get rid of Pan once and for all. She summoned Ariel who can travel between dimensions, apparently that’s a gift of the mermaids. Ariel of course wasn’t about to help Regina, but Regina said she could actually give her what she’s always wanted . . . Eric. Regina gave Ariel her voice back, and offered her legs forever . . . she just needs her to go to Storybrooke and deliver a message as to where they are and that they are trying to save Henry. Oh and as temptation for Ariel to do this, Eric just happens to be there of course!

At LEAST we are going to see Storybrooke again. That’s an improvement. I’ll post official spoilers when they are out. For some reason they’ve been keeping things under wraps. My guess is the network was waiting until the Ariel episode aired.

Grimm: Zombi Powers Activate !?!?!?

Grimm: Zombi Powers Activate !?!?!?

So on the latest episode of “Grimm,” the team managed to get ahold of Nick and cure him, however it seems that there are some residual effects from the poisoning. Nick keeps going in and out of these comatose death like states, and at odd times. At one point it was while sleeping, and Juliet thought he had died. The state came on while he was awake as well, when he was getting emotional after overhearing a truth that was kept from him. I’m not sure what this will mean in the long run for Nick. It definitely can’t be good.

It turns out one of the guys Nick attacked in the bar ended up dying. Renard fortunately took the hard drive with the security footage from the bar, but he was spotted there with Juliet and Rosalee. They had to come up with a cover, and tried to keep this news from Nick. He eventually found out and felt huge guilt. He wanted to turn himself in, until Renard showed him the footage he had stolen. On it the guy attacked Nick with a knife, so Renard said in a bizarre way it was self defense. Yeah, right . . . whatever makes Nick shut up at this point! Something tells me like Nick’s zombie sickness, this won’t go away so easily either. Nick, Hank and the others were all spotted at a family’s home where they caught Nick. Something tells me the father who saw them all will eventually be this story’s undoing. This will all catch up to them.

Renard’s brother is still MIA. Renard set something up to make it look like his brother was killed in a car accident. I wasn’t clear if he really ordered a hit on his brother, or was covering? Either way, his mother called to talk to him and congratulate him on finally getting rid of his wretched step-brother. She said they’d talk soon. Hmmmmmm . . .

Over in Europe, Stefania continued to lead Adelind in the nasty ceremony to get her powers back. Was it just me, or does Stefania’s voice sound a lot like the voice of Renard’s mother on the phone?

SPOILERS for the next two episodes below!
