Brothers And Sisters: Who Is R?
Posted by Dustin on 05.12.2008 at 8:03 pm
In the season finale the episode surrounded Kevin and Scotty’s wedding. They wanted it quick and simple, no fuss no muss. Of course Nora being Nora, she went into planning mode. She later told Kevin that he deserved this day to be special, and he thanked her for that.
Kevin, Tommy and Justin took a road trip to Arizona to meet Scotty’s parents, who wouldn’t come to his wedding. Scotty’s mom basically told Kevin while they loved their son, they didn’t condone his behavior as it was against God, their religion and was a sin. Basically the mom sat their going off on all this while the father seemed to be uncomfortable, but not allowed to speak. The father stopped Kevin before he left and gave him his cuff links to give to Scotty, who he promised could wear them when he got married. It was an odd twist where the mother basically seemed to be the condemner and the father the more accepting one. I think the dad really wanted to be there, but didn’t want to go against his wife.
The Walkers all accepted Rebecca, even if she wasn’t blood. Sarah had the best line when she told her they were like the mafia, once your in your in. I loved it because Sarah was one of the cold ones with Rebecca initially, as was Kitty.
Tommy meanwhile continued to defend Saint Holly. Sarah tried to make him see that Holly had lied and deceived them all, but Tommy said Holly saved Ojai and it was actually Sarah who first put the idea in their heads that Rebecca was a Walker. You know what, I’ve had it with Tommy. If he loves Holly so much then he should divorce his wife and marry her! Seriously though, I want Holly out, but I want Tommy out of Ojai too! I hope Holly does something and loses them the orchard, maybe then Tommy would realize she’s fallible.
Rebecca had told Sarah the baby picture they thought was her, was in fact not her! This sent Sarah back on the hunt to find out who the baby was and who was the mysterious R in their dad’s password if not Rebecca. The other Walker kids didn’t want to hear it or go there again, but Kevin soon began having memories of his dad. He remembered his dad inquiring about someone named Ryan, and later seeing the same baby photo. He was told by his dad a woman he had done work with died and left behind 3 kids, Ryan was the youngest. Kevin told Sarah, and they went to give Nora the news that William was basically a big cheat.
Robert and Kitty meanwhile decided to adopt a child, rather than continue with months of IVF which might not work out. I knew it! I think we can also see where this is headed. The classic “woman gets pregnant right after adopting” storyline.
Finally Justin and Rebecca had a talk and Justin basically admitted he was a jerk, he didn’t even think about what she was going through. Rebecca told him that he’s the one she’s always turned to, always wanted to share things with first. She thought all that had happened may have been a way for her to meet him. They kissed, but then agreed to take things slow. I dunno, I think they are cute together, but they just went from siblings to kissing to a potential relationship pretty quickly.

Brothers and Sisters: The Shocking R
Posted by Dustin on 05.11.2008 at 11:10 pm
So I just watched “Brothers and Sisters” big season finale. I’ll update my normal thoughts/summary post on it soon. However I wanted to get this post out there about the big secret for discussion.
Well those who have seen it know what the shock is. Basically William is a man whore! He not only had an affair with Holly, but some other unknown floozy who he had a kid with as well! She was married too and had a husband and other kids. Jeeze Louise! William couldn’t keep it in his pants could he?
Sarah guessed as much, realizing there could possibly be another kid out there with an R name. That is what the R in the password was, that is the baby photo. Rebecca confirmed the baby photo Sarah found wasn’t her. The rest of the Walkers didn’t seem to want to hear this idea though. Kevin however started remembering things and remembered catching his dad with the photo of the kid once before who was supposedly a kid of a friend of his.
When Kevin had the first flashback and heard the name Ryan I knew that was it. For a moment I thought though “Ew gross, please don’t let it be Robert!” No they didn’t go into yet another incest themed story. So apparently William has another kid out there, Ryan, who I guess we’ll meet next season.
Thoughts? I don’t know if I like this twist honestly. They have really made William out to be a bigger jerk than he already was! I don’t know if I want to see through them all going through meeting yet another possible sibling. They better do a DNA test first thing!

I’m not sure if this is anything anyone would be interested in, but I thought I’d throw it out anyway. Tonight is the “Brothers and Sisters” season finale, and other ABC shows are soon to follow. I thought it might be fun, if enough want to, to gather in the chatroom and discuss the shows as the finales are going on. This is something I’ve done with my friends before, actually we usually all gather and talk about “Housewives” on Sundays and they talk about “Lost” (and of course I’m lost!) on Thursday’s.
So if you are interested head into The Chatroom and poke around. If enough people show an interest I might have to make rooms for the shows on any given night. Currently the chatroom dumps everyone into “The Lobby.” Other rooms can be created by users for various shows at any given time/night.
I’ll be in there tonight (I’m usually there every night actually) for “Brothers and Sisters” if anyone wants to watch and discuss. I am on eastern time though, so if your west coast, you might not want to show up unless you want to be spoiled
Brothers and Sisters: Most Aggravating Episode Ever?
Posted by Dustin on 05.05.2008 at 12:09 pm
Last night’s episode of “Brothers and Sisters” was tense, frustrating, aggravating and infuriating! I don’t think I’ve ever watched an episode that upset me as much as last night’s did.
First let’s get the boring story out of the way, Kitty and Robert’s plotline. Back to the doctor they went, who wanted to try harvesting more eggs from Kitty, but wanted to take a month off to let her body rest. Robert and Kitty decided to use that month, and her 48 hour fertile period, to have as much sex as possible and try things the old fashion way. Zzzzzzzzz.
Justin tried to avoid Rebecca like the plague and confided in Kevin about Rebecca and that for the moment there that she might not have been their sister, well he started having feelings for her. Kevin told him she was their sister and to stay away from her. Okay I find it somewhat odd that his first thoughts were basically “Wow your not my sister, so I can bang you now.” Ewwwwww! She was most likely your sister a minute ago and you weren’t thinking that! It’s like these feelings came out of no where. When Rebecca confronted him on being weird, he told her the truth. Upset, she ran off. Poor Justin thought he had repulsed her.
Rebecca and Holly had it out in this episode. Holly was moaning about David leaving and she never saw it coming. Rebecca unleashed holy hell on her mother, telling her she knew the truth, that David was her father. Holly then deduced Rebecca sent him away, but Rebecca said he left because he knew she loved the Walkers and it would make things more difficult. Holly got sick of the Walkers being thrown in her face and the way Rebecca treated her. Rebecca told her off, how they were more a family to her in a short year and Nora more a mother! Holly then ranted on and on about how she raised her on her own, she struggled and worked as a single mother. Rebecca shot back that she let William die thinking she was his daughter, she took all that money William left her in the will. Holly felt it was their money and they deserved it after what she has struggled through, unlike Nora who fell into money. Holly then told Rebecca she wouldn’t be treated like this anymore and kicked her out! Okay I have to say, Holly has some nerve! She struggled and worked to raise Rebecca? Seems to me William set her up in that house and gave her money! Poor Holly! Her playing the single mother and victim card didn’t work on me at all, it’s only made me see she’s still a beyotch!
Rebecca returned to Justin, who apologized and said he was over those weird feelings. She told him the truth, she’s not his sister. He then let her have it, saying she was a liar just like her mother! Uhg, why why why? I didn’t get Justin at all in this episode. At the end of the episode, Justin told Nora the truth about Rebecca.
Sarah, annoying me to no end, decided to cover for Saul and take the blame for his mistake. This meant she took crap from her mom, Kevin and Tommy, who you could see was probably secretly loving it because he always felt he should be running Ojai. I thought we’d have to put up with this forever, but fortunately Saul came forward to Nora, who of course told everyone. Nora apologized, but I wanted to see Tommy doing so! His smugness lately has irked me. Nora then had the idea to turn to Tommy and Holly’s orchard to save Ojai.
Tommy of course wanted to save the business, but Holly had reservations and told him to put the blame on her for saying no. She felt they were an upstart, they would go down with Ojai. Then however she came up with a plan that would work, a merger of the companies. Tommy would be co-president of Ojai with Sarah and in case they couldn’t agree, the new CEO Holly would break the tie. Sarah felt railroaded, but Nora pushed her to do it to save the company. I have to say Holly seems to be getting everything she wanted doesn’t she? Now she’s fricken CEO of Ojai and Tommy gets back in. Not liking this one bit at all. I have a feeling Sarah will be ousted or quit pretty soon! Sarah also seemingly gave Graham the boot at the end of the episode, using business speak saying it was time to go their separate ways and break off talks. Looks like we may have seen the last of him.
Saul went and got himself good and drunk and drove into a tree. He called Kevin to bail him out from the police station. He finally came out to Kevin saying he was a gay man, but he didn’t know how to be a gay man, and he wanted his entire life back . . . all those waisted years. Kevin then went home to Scotty and proposed for real, saying he realized how lucky he was to have Scotty while the rest of his family was falling apart, and he didn’t want to be like Saul looking back wanting lost years back. Scotty of course accepted. I’m shedding a tear for what could have been with Jason. *Sniff Sniff*
Brothers and Sisters: Incest Issues!
Posted by Dustin on 04.29.2008 at 10:06 pm
Oh boy, “Brothers and Sisters” went “there!” Let’s get to the latest episode.
Robert met with the republican candidate for President, who just as Kitty called it, wanted Robert to join him as the VP. Robert knew that he was needed to get the moderates to vote, but was unsure how much of a role he’d have. Taylor promised he’d have a voice and would listen to all his suggestions, but Robert didn’t know if that meant he’d actually take his advice. He ultimately turned him down. Taylor later told Kitty that Robert will one day regret this decision, and he’ll probably blame her. She then told him off, saying Robert makes his own decisions. Also in this episode, Kitty got the bad news that none of the embryos harvested are viable. Something tells me we’ll be seeing a possible adoption in the future, mimicing Calista’s real life choice to adopt a child.
Saul went behind Sarah’s back this week and allowed Graham to go through with the deal with the Chinese food company. When Sarah found out she was rightly furious, but Saul felt he had been doing this longer than most of them and to trust that he knew what he was doing. She ultimately gave up some of her control and trust issues and decided to trust that Saul and Graham knew what they were doing. Well it looks like Sarah’s first instincts were right . . . the company they made the deal with went under and now the bank is set to call back a 20 million dollar loan! Spoilerish thoughts ahead! We know from spoilers Holly somehow comes to the rescue. I have a feeling the orchard might be getting sold off to save Ojai. With Rebecca confronting her mother next week about the truth of her paternity, I’m thinking she may push Holly to do this as they really don’t have any right to any of William’s money (even if he did leave it to them). In the previews Rebecca is screaming at her mom that she let William die thinking he was her father.
Over to Scotty and Kevin. Scotty cut himself on the job and ended up with an expensive ER bill because of the lack of health insurance. Kevin, practical as always, suggested a domestic partnership so that Scotty could have his health insurance benefits and other stuff. I knew Kevin was going to take the practical and logical approach, and it ticked me off. Fortunately Scotty shot him down. I loved when he said this was as close to marriage as they could get, and maybe he was acting like a 12 year old girl, but he wanted his wedding day to be special and meaningful. I’ve never really liked Scotty all that much, but in this episode I did.
Finally on to the storyline that we were all really waiting and watching for. Rebecca got the test results . . . congratulations David, it’s a girl! I’m not shocked the show did this. Justin and Rebecca’s characters will eventually need love interests, they have great chemistry as is, so why not put them together rather than hire two additional actors. Rebecca told David the truth, and he stepped up and tried to do the noble thing. He convinced her not to tell anyone about this, continue life as a Walker because it did make her happy. He then made a lame excuse to Holly to skip town, saying a movie project came up. While it might have been noble he wanted Rebecca to be happy, he also encouraged her to live a lie. I don’t think she can do that, and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of David either.
Rebecca did however try and keep up the lie, telling Justin that David wasn’t her father. He hugged her, but she commented she wasn’t sure if he was happy or disappointed. Justin assured her that he was happy, but he didn’t sound like it. He then took her out to go surfing and you could tell he has the hots for his sister by the way he was looking at her and touching her. Ew make the ickyness stop! From the previews next week with Kevin telling Justin he has to stay away from Rebecca, that must mean he’s admitted to them he has feelings for their “sister.” Oh I hope Rebecca comes clean and soon, this is giving me icky feelings watching and wondering what is going through Justin’s head.

Brothers and Sisters: Primary Blues
Posted by Dustin on 04.22.2008 at 5:42 pm
First up, sorry this was so late in coming. Anyway, let’s get to the latest episode of “Brothers and Sisters.”
The show opened pretty much were it left off a few months ago. Robert had won a major primary, but then lost a bunch to his rival Taylor, which effectively squashed his dreams for the republican nomination for President. Three months had then past from where we left off, perhaps an ode to the time lapsed during the strike and lack of episodes?
Anyway, three months later we find Kitty and Robert are starting fertility treatments to try and help her conceive. Meanwhile Isaac has accepted a job teaching in DC and shocks Nora by asking her to come with him. All the kids are worried, but think she’d never do it. She shocks everyone when she tells Isaac yes! One of the best scenes of the episode was when Kevin started to cry and Sarah slapped him and told him to be a man!
Rebecca’s birthday was coming up and she found that Nora was planning to throw her a party. She invited her mom and David to go, they’ve been seeing a lot of each other. David presented Rebecca with a gift beforehand, a necklace which she wore to the party. When Holly saw it, she was taken aback. She confronted David knowing very well it was a family heirloom, his mother’s. She said that was a gift a father would give a daughter, what is he implying? Of course it as foolish of her to do this in the middle of the Walker’s house because Justin over heard. Duh!
Meanwhile all the kids started arguing with Nora about her leaving and she blew up. She told them all off, that she wasn’t moving out of fear of being alone but to get away from all of them meddling in her life all the time. She said this was a choice she made for herself. After her blow-up the party was pretty much over. Kitty, who had told Isaac she didn’t think her mom was really ready for this or knew what she was doing, apologized to her mom for putting doubts in his head. She also told her mom she really did want her to stay.
Meanwhile back at Holly’s place, David confronted Holly about whether Rebecca was his daughter. She admitted there was a remote possibility. Oh boy! It seems she and William had a fight one night and she ended up in David’s bed. However Holly said if Rebecca learned this, she might never recover and she might never forgive her. She begged him to leave it for Rebecca’s sake, and he seemed to agree. These scenes pretty much cinched it for me, they are going to make David her father.
Nora ended up telling Isaac that she was sorry but she couldn’t go with him after all. He seemed to know it was coming, and he knew her going was a long shot. Well I think we all knew Nora wasn’t going to move away. I have to say I’m A-Okay with this as I never warmed up to these two. I still want the contractor guy back!
Finally Justin told Rebecca about the fight Holly and David had. Rebecca says her mom denies the possibility of David being her dad, but she has her doubts. She knows she can get a test, but isn’t sure she can handle the results and have her life turned upside down yet again. Justin offered to go with her, which is what he did. I have to say I’m not liking this story at all, for me it’s far too “daytime” to pull another “whose the daddy” with Rebecca. I feel it’s being done so they can pair Justin and Rebecca together.
Also going on in this episode was some issue with the deal Graham had put together, which Saul is really pushing. Sarah has reservations as the plan requires them taking out a large loan and risking a lot. In the end it appeared Sarah had decided to back out and told Graham this decision. This storyline was the big snoozer for me in this episode.
Finally as Kitty was getting used to having Robert around and looking forward to a family, Robert was missing Presidential politics and told Isaac as much. He really wanted this, he thought it was his time. Of course then the phone call from his opponents people came in, and Kitty knew it was a VP invite. I’m still not sure what will happen here, as if this happens for Robert then it means a move to DC and really would tear the storylines apart for the show in terms of the interconnectedness of the family.
Next Week:
Surprising revelations will shock the family.
Kitty call from her fertility doctor.
Saul is apparently accused of fraud by Sarah.
Taylor asks Robert to be his VP candidate.
Kevin and Tommy want to know if Justin knows something about Rebecca.
Justin asks Rebecca if she heard any news.

Brother and Sisters Upcoming Surprise
Posted by Dustin on 04.17.2008 at 12:25 pm
Spoilerish and speculation ahead!
When “Brothers and Sisters” returns the first few episodes will revolve around many topics. Scotty and Kevin apparently decide to get married, while Nora is offered a proposal from Isaac . . . move to Washington DC with her. Kitty undergoes fertility treatments to conceive, but the real conception story we all want to get to the bottom of is of course Rebecca’s.
When we last left the show, Rebecca was wondering if in fact William Walker was her father, or was her mother’s old boyfriend David a possibility. When the show returns we are set to learn the answer by the second or third new episode.
An article in the New York Daily News confirms a huge twist coming up that will change things for Rebecca. It’s almost as if they are screaming nope she’s not Williams. This wouldn’t mean the end of her, it sets her up for a romance and marriage to Justin (Dave Annabel’s character). So in the end, Rebecca would still be a “Walker.”
Hold on a minute, this could be potentially character killing for one Holly Harper (Patricia Wettig). I mean she is basically where she is with her money and orchard because William left her all this assuming that Rebecca was his daughter. She will come off looking the the witch of a character she was introduced as. This makes me think the surprise twist might be something bigger.
When Rebecca does a DNA test, something tells me she’ll be comparing her DNA to Justin’s. So if it shows they don’t share the same father that doesn’t mean William isn’t Rebecca’s father . . . if you catch my drift. The biggest shock of all would be to have had Nora have her own affair and gotten knocked up with Justin!
