So I did in fact sit through the entire two hours of “Dancing With The Stars” last night . . . mainly because with “90210″ moved to Tuesdays, there was nothing else on I wanted to watch. We’ll see how long it takes for networks to move things around and conflict with it!

The show was okay. I did get bored often, and found myself not caring about some of the people. Carson Kresley I thought was hilarious, but obviously needs to step up his technique. Chynna Phillips and Ricki Lake were why I watched, and by far my favorites. I was glad to see Chaz Bono could actually dance, but the weight issue will keep him from going too far I think.

Others I didn’t know who they were, or didn’t care (Rob Kardashian!). I do hope that sports guy (Ron Artest? Or whatever his new name is) goes home. Not only was he horrible, but he was creepily leering and hanging onto his partner and the female cohost. Sports people tend to last though, because of their large fan bases.

Born to musicians John and Michelle Phillips of famed 60′s group The Mamas and The Papas, Chynna began her acting career appearing in John Hughes’ 1982 teen-sensation, “Some Kind of Wonderful.” She followed up with roles in 1988′s “Caddyshack II,” 1989′s “Say Anything,” and played the character Roxanne Pulitzer in the 1989 TV biopic, “Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer.” Next Phillips, along with childhood friends Carnie & Wendy Wilson, formed the trio Wilson Phillips.
HOPE SOLO — Hope Solo is widely considered the best goalkeeper in the world and has been the starter for the United States women’s national team since 2005. She scored 109 goals as a high school forward before moving to goal at the University of Washington near her hometown of Richland, Washington. At the 2011 World Cup, Solo recorded two shutouts in group play, and then, in what is considered one of the greatest soccer games in history, made a save in a penalty shootout against Brazil in the quarterfinal, helping the Americans advance to the semis. The U.S. reached the final, falling to Japan in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw. Solo was awarded the Adidas Golden Glove by FIFA as the tournament’s top goalkeeper. She was also the starting goalkeeper for the United States in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where the U.S. women’s team won the gold medal by defeating Brazil 1-0 in extra time, in no small measure due to Solo’s performance as she stopped an energetic Brazilian attack, making save after save. Solo started her Women’s Professional Soccer career playing for Saint Louis Athletica, and was named Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009. Since then she has played for the Atlanta Beat and currently plays for magicJack as the starting goalkeeper, and is a two-time WPS All Star. When not playing soccer, Solo enjoys reading, basketball, beach volleyball and other outdoor activities. She loves traveling the world and gives back through community service projects.

The new season’s cast was announced tonight during “The Bachelor” and I feel fairly confident that unless there is NOTHING else on TV those night, I pretty much won’t be tuning in.

Just some quick thoughts on the first week of “Dancing With The Stars.”

So far I am enjoying it. Because of Heroes and other shows that ended up on Monday nights, I was always torn. That and seeing the people I tuned in for sent home week one always turned me off the show. I feared that would happen this year too, but fortunately it didn’t.

For sure there are some clunkers. The Hoff was rightly sent home, he was horrible. I was surprised though as he is also popular. I thought he’d be there for awhile. I guess ABC made voting German proof

Michael Bolton and “The Situation” probably need to go next. Unfortunately “The Situation” I fear will be on the show for awhile just because “Jersey Shore” fans will rabidly vote for him.

Jennifer Grey of course seems to be the stand-out favorite right now, but that can always change! Her breakdown though was a tear jerker.

I was afraid Margaret Cho would be sent home after her first dance. She’s one of the main reasons I tuned in, so as usual I was expecting her to be axed. Hopefully she won’t pull the comedy schtick next week and do a serious dance. I don’t, however, expect her to win. But hey who knows. The girl that played Tracy Turnblad surprised everyone and made it to the finals!

The kid from the Disney Channel show I was afraid would be axed last night simply because I didn’t think he’d have the fan base to keep him. That has happened in the past with good dancers. No fan base to vote meant they went home when they deserved to stay over others.

Anyway, those are my thoughts!

I’ve become increasingly disinterested with “Dancing With The Stars” the past few seasons. Having other shows I watch up against it didn’t help, and neither does the fact that a lot of the time the people I really like get the boot early on. Still, the new season starts September 23rd, and I’m sure I’ll tune in off and on at least. Maybe I’ll get sucked in to some drama?

There are a few stars in this new season I’m interested in seeing, like Margaret Cho, Jennifer Grey and Flo Henderson. A lot of the others on this list . . . I don’t know . . . I really don’t think reality stars should be on a reality show about stars . . . there is something odd about that.

MICHAEL BOLTON – Michael Bolton has sold more than 53 million records, released 18 studio albums, won multiple Grammys® for Best Male Vocalist and countless other honors, all while selling out arenas worldwide. In 2002 the singer-songwriter earned a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. He has sung with Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, written songs with Bob Dylan, Ne-Yo and Lady Gaga, penned hits for a diverse range of artists, including Barbra Streisand and KISS, played guitar with B.B. King and had his music recorded on a track by hip-hop superstar Kanye West (featuring megastar Jay-Z). Earlier this year Bolton released his latest album, “One World One Love,” featuring his current single, “Murder My Heart,” which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, and is currently on a worldwide concert tour. Of all that he has accomplished, perhaps nothing is more important to Bolton than the foundation he founded in1993, The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. Based in his home state of Connecticut, the major focus of The MBC is the critical issue of violence against women. Since its inception, The MBC has dispersed over $6 million in grants to various organizations that support children and women at risk of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness and domestic violence.

BRANDY – Brandy is a platinum-selling R&B and pop singer, actress, songwriter and record/television producer. In 1994, at the age of 15, Brandy released her eponymous debut album, selling over 6 million copies. Following a major success with “The Boy Is Mine,” a duet with singer Monica, which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, she won a Grammy® Award for Best R&B performance by a duo or group. The accompanying album “Never Say Never” in 1998 sold over 16 million copies worldwide. A series of hit CD’s followed, including “Full Moon,” “Afrodisiac” and “Human,” bringing the star’s sales to over 30 million records to date. While maintaining a recording career, Brandy also gained fame as an actress, starring in several film and TV projects, including the popular UPN sitcom, “Moesha” (1996-2001), the 1997 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella, Double Platinum,” a miniseries co-starring Diana Ross, and the movie “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.” Brandy has also been spokesmodel for Cover Girl, Candies Shoes, DKNY, Sketchers Shoes and Ultima/Kaneka brand by Brandy. Her civic and charity interests include the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Norwood Kids Foundation, which supports music and the performing arts in public schools. She is currently filming Season 2 of the hit VH1 reality show “Brandy and Ray J: a Family Business,” in which she stars and on which she’s executive producer. She is also in studio recording a new CD for release in 2011.

MARGARET CHO – One of the most successful stand-up comediennes of today, Margaret Cho’s performances have been seen by millions around the world. Having first performed stand-up in her native San Francisco at the age of 16, Cho’s best-selling tours include the off-Broadway hit/concert film “I’m the One That I Want,” “Notorious C.H.O.,” “Revolution” and “Beautiful.” She is also a regular cast member of the hit Lifetime series “Drop Dead Diva.” Other acting work includes her starring role in the sitcom, “All-American Girl,” “Face/Off” and several guest star appearances, including “Sex and the City” and “Ghost Whisperer.” Cho is also a best-selling author whose work includes the book I’m the One That I Want and a collection of essays entitled I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight. A passionate advocate for equal rights, she has received honors from GLAAD, the National Gay and Lesbian task Force, National Organization for Women, Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Victory Fund and many others. Cho is currently touring with “Cho Dependent,” which features both stand-up and songs from her new music comedy album of the same name.

RICK FOX – Three-time NBA Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, actor and producer Rick Fox has appeared in a number of film and television projects, sharing the screen with actors ranging from Whoopi Goldberg to Henry Winkler, Angela Bassett and Shia LeBeouf. Fox’s acting debut came in 1994 in William Friedkin’s “Blue Chips.” Similar roles followed in 1996’s “Eddie” and 1998’s critically acclaimed “He Got Game” (directed by Spike Lee), before Fox’s breakout role on the hit HBO series “Oz.” Since then he has appeared in over a dozen network shows, including “Ugly Betty,” “One Tree Hill,” “The Game” and “Dirt.” In addition he has appeared in such diverse films as “Resurrection,” “Holes,” “Mini’s First Time” and Tyler Perry’s “Meet The Browns.” While Fox continues to strengthen his craft, he’s just as busy behind the camera developing his own film and television projects for his production company, 1744 Entertainment. As a star basketball athlete, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was coached by the legendary Dean Smith. He began his pro basketball career when he was drafted into the NBA by the Boston Celtics as a first round pick.
BRISTOL PALIN – Bristol Palin, former first daughter of Alaska, first entered the national spotlight when her mother, former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, was selected to be John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 Presidential election. Bristol traveled the country, alongside her mother, father and siblings on the campaign trail. After giving birth to her son, Tripp, and becoming a single teen mother in 2008, she became a spokesperson for the prevention of teen pregnancy and for other teen issues.
AUDRINA PATRIDGE – After starring in six seasons of the hit series “The Hills,” Audrina Patridge has joined the ranks of young Hollywood as one of the most sought-after and talked about talents on television. She made her debut on the big screen last fall in the thriller “Sorority Row.” Other film credits include the action-adventure film “Into the Blue 2” and “Honey 2.” She has also tested her hand at comedy, appearing on an episode of the sitcom “Do Not Disturb” and in a hilarious skit for “MAD TV.” Last summer Patridge made headlines steaming up TV screens in a commercial for Carl’s Jr. This July she became the latest Bongo girl, shooting the fall advertising campaign with famed photographer Tony Duran.

MIKE “THE SITUATION” SORRENTINO – Mike Sorrentino has become one of Hollywood’s emerging talents. Born in Staten Island, New York and raised in Manalapan, New Jersey, Sorrentino is most known for starring on the hit show “The Jersey Shore,” now in its second season on MTV. He graduated from Manalapan High School and went on to college in NJ. After graduation in 2004, he tried his hand at personal training, fitness modeling and soon after was scouted for an upcoming reality show which would eventually become “The Jersey Shore.” The show caught fire, becoming one of the highest rated shows in MTV history, and propelled “The Situation” into pop culture phenomenon. As “The Jersey Shore” continues in its unrivaled success, Sorrentino also continues to gain in popularity nationally and internationally. He also earned his second NFL MVP in 2001. Injuries led Warner to move from the Rams to the Giants, and finally the Arizona Cardinals in 2005. In 2007 he led the Cardinals to their first ever Super Bowl berth, was voted to his fourth Pro Bowl and surpassed several Cardinals franchise records, including touchdowns, attempts, completions, completion percentage and passer rating. Warner’s gridiron accomplishments pale in comparison to the dedication he shows to the community. In 2001 he and his wife, Brenda, established the First Things First Foundation, a non-profit public charity dedicated to impacting lives by promoting Christian values, sharing experiences and providing opportunities to encourage everyone to believe that all things are possible when people seek to put first things first. Warner was born and raised in Iowa and played college football at the University of Northern Iowa. He lives in Arizona with his wife and seven children.

Well last night “DWTS” got some of it’s biggest ratings ever. Did you tune in? Do you have a favorite yet? Is someone already clearly the winner?

I did watch and look forward to being able to watch this season without “Heroes” interfering. The last few seasons that’s been some big competition. Though I will admit, I ended up turning it off near the end to watch “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” That show is like crack, bitchy snarky crack!

As for my quick thoughts though, I enjoyed it. I at least know most of the contestants this time around. The last few seasons I felt they were really reaching. I am guessing Buzz will go home this week, but he’s such an American hero that the votes might save him. The same with Jake the Bachelor, I think girl will vote to keep him on cause they think he’s all that (even if they hate the woman he chose).

I really liked seeing Shannan, I’ve always loved her as an actress. Neicy Nash was fun as well, love her too. The Pussycat Doll I guess I have my normal issues with, but even more so here. Before they hit it as a music act they were a dance/burlesque act in Vegas. I think that’s a bit unfair!

During the finale of “The Bachelor” the new cast of “Dancing With The Stars” was announced. With so many of my shows off the air, here is hoping I’ll get to keep up with the show this time around! “Heroes” was always the main competition with the show and it’s gone for the season. “Parenthood” could be a problem as I really want to watch it, but it looks like it’s now scheduled for Tuesdays rather than Mondays.

Here is the cast they announced. There are some misspellings I’m sure. I was trying to keep up as they went through them fast. A formal release will probably be out in an hour anyway.

Pamela Anderson – TV/Baywatch

Chad Ochocinco – Football

Aiden Turner – TV/Soaps

Erin Andrews – ESPN

Shannen Doherty – TV/90210

Buzz Aldrin – Astronaut

Neicy Nash – TV/Reno 911/Insider

Nicole Cherziendger – Pussycat Dolls

Evan Lyscech – Olympic Gold Medalist

Kate Gosselin – TV Reality Star

Jake Pavelcka – The Bachelor!

Kate Gosselin? Nooooooooooo! I think she might make a lot of people who might have watched tune out.
