This post contains bits about a few different ABC shows I watch/cover here . . . .
First up, the news we have been teased with all summer, but pretty much figured out. Ausiello broke the news that Owen and Christina are marrying in the season premier of “Grey’s Anatomy.” Shocking I know . . . yes I know you figured it out by now.
The ever fabulous Frances Conroy is checking in as a patient on “Grey’s Anatomy” according to TV Guide
Debra Monk will appear in a recurring role on “Brothers and Sisters” this season as a nemesis of sorts for Nora. Nora begins hosting a radio show about moms. Source: Playbill
Stephen Collin’s character on “Brothers and Sisters” is named Charlie. He’ll be Saul’s new boyfriend on the show.
Reggie Austin is going to play new housewife Vanessa William’s husband on the show. Vanessa also makes moves on Brian Austin Green, who is playing a handyman Bree has her eye on.
Here is the new promo for the new season of housewives. No spoilers revealed, but it is funny!
For over a week now there have been reports that Brian Austin Green (best known as David on 90210) was in talks to join “Desperate Housewives” as the new hunky contractor on the block.
Most news outlets say he’s in talks for the role, or he’s nearing a final agreement. On The Red Carpet seems to be the first site to say ABC has confirmed to them that he is joining the show for an unknown number of episodes in the new season.

Casting Bits: B&S, 90210, Army Wives, Housewives, Weeds
Posted by Dustin on 07.02.2010 at 12:42 pm
These are various casting bits, most of which I’ve posted links on Twitter already. In case some haven’t seen them though . . .
By now most everyone has head that Emily VanCamp (Rebecca) is departing “Brothers and Sisters.” She will appear in a few episodes, then head out somehow. We still don’t know. Emily gave an interview on it here.
Jill Biden, the VP’s wife, will appear on the August 15th episode of “Army Wives.” She is playing herself in the episode, that’s all we know at this point.
TV Guide is reporting that we’ll see Harriet Sansom Harris return as Felicia Tilman on “Desperate Housewives. She’s the woman who got Paul Young sent to jail for killing her sister. She’s back to explain why Paul is now OUT of jail!
Ausiello is reporting that Miguel #3 from “Passions” is joining “90210.” Blair Redford joined the show and was Miguel after he escaped hell (and went to DirecTV). He’ll be playing Oscar, a British character who moves in with Ivy and her mother.
Finally news broke awhile ago that “Weeds” will be a major character short this season. There will be no drunken Cecelia! Can the show survive another major character loss? We never got Conrad or Heylia back after season 2 (3?).
Desperate Housewives Season Finale: Paul Young And A Baby Swap?
Posted by Dustin on 05.17.2010 at 8:19 pm
An amazing season finale to “Desperate Housewives” I must say. So many questions for next season, such a long wait!
A nurse at a hospital confessed something terrible to a priest. It looks like there was a baby switch (or several) going on . . . . and one of the couples involved lived on Wisteria Lane! Unfortunately we don’t know who the couple or baby is. Grrrr! There were some clues, which I’ll point out as I go through my other thoughts.
Bree signed her company over to Sam to protect Andrew, but lost Orson in the processes. He reminded her that she made him go to jail for what he did to Mike, but did not expect the same from Andrew, who ever offered to confess. He walked out on her at the end. She then realized she had to tell Gabby the truth, which she prepared to do.
As she signed over her company to Sam, she warned him she felt he would live a very unhappy life. He’d probably never have the family he sought, which she offered him, or anyone who truly cared about him. In light of the baby switch, a very telling statement wasn’t it? Could Andrew and Sam have been switched? It might make sense, if someone close to Sam’s mom or Rex had it out for her or Rex in some way?
Gabby helped Angie deal with Patrick. Angie built Patrick his bomb, which he placed in her house where Tyler was held hostage. Patrick truly was twisted, later daring Angie to run and save their son before he detonated the bomb. In the end the joke was on him, as she put the bomb in the detonator, and sent Patrick sky high in his car! Angie and Nick decided to leave, still on the run, but sent Tyler/Danny to New York to have a real life with his grandma and Carlos’ niece Anna. I really wish Angie and Nick could have stuck around. They were a great addition to the show. Anna however can just remain gone. I never liked her at all.
Lynette had to deliver her baby with Crazy Eddie’s help. She convinced him, in the end, to turn himself in. I was worried her was going to run off with her baby.
Mike and Susan had to sell their house and much of their stuff in order to pay off the IRS. At the end as they drove away, someone bought their house. It was Paul Young! Oh lord, what is he doing back? I can’t help but worry he also might be involved or part of the baby switch. Susan always HATED Zack Young, what if Zack and Julie were the babies switched? There has to be a reason Paul is back.
A very nail biting episode of “Desperate Housewives” this weekend, all building up to the season finale next week! Let’s get into it . . . .
The story that irked every last nerve in me this week was Eddie the serial killer. Irina’s body was found, and the cops needed to talk to Porter. Tom and Lynette took him in. All they needed to do was confirm his whereabouts this summer, to rule him out. Seems they rightly think the person who killed the other women also killed Irina. Lynette then overheard them mention Eddie’s mom was also found dead. Eddie had previously told Lynette his mom was probably on a bender, which is why nobody had seen her, and that she’d turn up. By the end of the show Lynette found Eddie claiming he just talked to his mom, who was in Florida with his Uncle. He was going there, they were getting her help. Lynette then opened her big mouth, thinking the cops at the station made a mistake as they said they found his mom dead. Yup, she spoke to soon, and immediately realized her mistake. Eddie began locking the doors and closing the windows! I was SO pissed at Lynette by the end. I would expect such a blunder from Susan or even Gabby, but NOT Lynette. Lynette supposedly goes into labor next week while Eddie is there, and I have horrible visions of Eddie running with the kid once it’s born.
Susan went on a hunt to get their dead beat neighbors to pay Mike the money they owed him, but claim they couldn’t pay because times were tough. She thought it would be easy enough to cry and pout, but it didn’t work. These were major manipulators, so Susan got dirty with them . . . and they paid! Unfortunately then the IRS came knocking on their doors. So Mike and Susan’s money troubles have only begun. I’ll post a Mike and Susan spoiler at the end, with a little discussion! I honestly didn’t expect the IRS twist here. I simply thought Susan the Terminator would single handily ruin Mike’s rep with the neighbors and thus his business.
Bree, Andrew and Orson discussed how to deal with Sam. They decided to pay him off. It didn’t work, and only pissed him off. In the end, he told Bree she would sign over her entire company to him . . . or he’d go to the cops with the dirt a drunk Danielle told him a few weeks back. Seems Sam knows Andrew once ran down Carlos’ mother! I totally forgot all about that. Wow way to dig up the past and surprise me. However I am loathing Sam. Does he really think anyone wants anything to do with him running Bree’s company? That he can do what Bree does? He’s an idiot, and he’s messed with the wrong woman. It will be interesting to see what happens. I expect Bree to take him down hard.
Gabby, on a quest to make the perfect lasagna for Carlos, went to Angie for help. She didn’t realize Angie and Tyler were being held hostage until the very end of the show, when the lasagna Angie made her had a secret note in it screaming for help. Patrick had it in his head that Angie would make him another bomb he could use in more of his environmental terrorism. Tyler meanwhile was tied up in another room and apparently learned the truth from PAtrick, who expected Tyler to come around and hate Nick and Angie when he thought about it. I have to say I am not a fan of Patrick the Eco-Terrorist. He’s not only nuts, but so is his quest. I guess in that way it does make his nuttiness seem more realistic. I mean he’s going around blowing up lumber camps and what not to save the environment? I think blowing stuff up is not helping the environment, ozone or greenhouse gasses! I also have a feeling both Patrick and Angie might go out together in the finale, with Nick taking Tyler.
Desperate Housewives: Borrowed Money & Not-So Dead Parents
Posted by Dustin on 05.03.2010 at 6:12 pm
So this week’s “Housewives” had a lot of scary, violent men on it. Wow, this years season finale looks to be a big one for sure with all the psychos living on this block now.
The one storyline that was more humorous than anything was Gabby and Susan learning that both their husbands had deceived them. Gabby wanted to buy some ski chalet, but Carlos said their money was tied up in another deal. She found out he lent 50K to Mike. Eventually Susan learned of this too, and she was none to pleased that her husband would borrow money rather than use what she had sitting in the bank as a result of selling the strip club. They teamed up to teach their husband’s a lesson at dinner. It was probably one of the few times this season where Susan was really funny and didn’t make me cringe cause she was doing something stupid. As for Gabby . . . who just decides to take half their savings to go buy some resort vacation house? Oh, never mind, of course, Gabby does!
Bree was stunned to learn Sam lied to her, his mother in fact was alive. Now Bree is onto Sam, but it might be too late. It seems Rex made the offer to Sam’s mom to have him live with him, saying he could provide Sam with a better life. Sam found out a few months ago and was livid, realizing he could have had the family he always wanted. When Bree confronted him, he lost it and began throwing and smashing things. Yeah Bree, it’s time to fire Sam and kick his arse out! He is not a well boy.
The other lunatic on the block, Eddie, couldn’t control his anger around Lynette’s family. Whenever Tom or Porter insulted Lynette, he would lose it and go nuts, even attacking the son at one point. Lynette wanted to get him help, but the psychiatrist felt they also needed to have sessions with Eddie’s mom. That’s when she went looking for his mom, only to find out the mom is mysteriously missing. It’s time for Lynette to give Eddie the boot. Not her kid, not her problem, has to think of her own family first. Plus is Eddie even a minor? It seems he’s not, so he’s not Lynette’s worry anymore. Unfortunately we know from the finale spoilers that Lynette finds herself in a situation with Eddie.
The final psycho Patrick ran Nick down this week, and while he was stuck in the hospital, moved in on Angie. And by in on, I mean in with. He blackmailed her into letting him move into her house, saying if she called the cops she’d be giving herself up too. Oh boy! We did learn for sure that Nick is an ex-FBI agent who convinced Angie to run away from Patrick. He was undercover trying to nab Patrick when they all met.
As I said, this finale is going to be insane, and when I say insane I mean it . . . three lunatics on the block, a new family moving in, and an old cast member returning who, given the limited amount they can choose from, also probably isn’t well in the head.
I really don’t have much to comment on last nights “Desperate Housewives” other than to say that I was not a fan of this episode at all. It seemed as if they wanted us to not only feel sorry for Eddie, but blame all the women for him becoming a killer. Yeah he had a rotten child hood, yeah he was used and abused, but I’m not going to excuse him going around killing people because of it!
We did learn that he attacked Julie not knowing who she was. It seemed like he thought she was Susan, who was his target after she was going to remarry Mike, much to Eddie’s dismay (just another woman he fell for and was rejected).
The show ended with Eddie moving in with Lynette, who felt his home life was too terrible. Little does she know he had just killed his mother, who found out he was killing all these women.

The season finale spoilers for “Housewives” and “Brothers and Sisters,” which air May 16th.
- No word on who is said to be returning “Housewives,” but they hint at setting up the new mystery for next season as well as an “explosion.”
- On “Brothers and Sisters” the tagline seems to indicate the hidden wealth of Narrow Lake is indeed a spring of sorts.

Guest starring are Ken Olin as David Caplan, Gilles Marini as Luc Laurent, John Aylward as Rawling and Patrick St. Esprit as Bill Stanton.
So last night we finally found out who the Fairview Strangler is! More on that in a few . . .
First up, Lynette didn’t give up on exposing her almost-to-be daughter-in-law Irena. She knew something was up, did some digging with immigrations help, and found out the woman had a history of marrying men all over the world and taking their money. Preston promptly dumped her and was heartbroken. I still am clueless as to what she wanted from Preston at this point, as he has no money. A ticket to stay in the US so she could find a more eligible man?
Bob and Lee had marital troubles, fighting over trying to have a child. Adoption and surrogacy had both failed, and Lee wanted to drop the whole thing as he couldn’t take being let down again. Bob however wanted a child. Gabby opened her mouth and offered her eggs up, but Carlos had issues and later when she thought about it she too couldn’t give up a child and step out of its life. Bob and Lee fought once again, with Lee moving out. A very sad story, but good to see them being given a larger more deeper storyline than simply “the funny gays on the block.”
Mike and Susan were also having marital problems. Mike was behind on car payments, which almost cost him his truck. Susan then tried to get him work by clogging people’s tubs around the neighborhood, but got caught. From the upcoming spoilers for the finale, it looks like their money issues get worse. I swear, can this show stop pushing/pulling these two? Just let them be happy! I will be so upset if we have to go through yet another Mike and Susan breakup.
Andrew remained out to expose Sam to Bree, but only got himself fired by Bree. Bree however planned to hire him back, which Sam wouldn’t have. Sam sabotaged an important book deal dinner of Bree’s and made it look like Andrew did it. Yeah, this kid is nuts! Orson is onto him, as is Andrew. I fear Bree might not catch on until too late.
Patrick came to Fairview and met Danny/Tyler while he was working at the coffee shop. He claimed to be writing a book about a love story gone “very dark.” Little did Tyler know the love story was about his mom and Patrick. Patrick considered killing Angie, but by the end of the episode decided to use Tyler in his nefarious plot. I wonder . . . . does he know Tyler is his son, or suspect it? I might have missed that part, as the show seemed to end with him planning to abduct Tyler (or the fictitious kid of the women in his love story).
By the end of the show, Preston’s geeky friend Eddie was revealed as the killer. He picked up Irena, who got the boot from Preston, and offered her a ride. He promptly killed her! I have to say I was disappointed. He’s a nobody, and a random serial killer. There was no nefarious plot against Julie or anyone else, she was randomly target by this guy. Supposedly if you go back and watch from the beginning of the season you’ll see all the subtle hints and signs. I don’t have the time to do so right now, and honestly am not impressed with this “reveal” enough to do so.
