Sunday Night TV Brings Two Losses

Sunday Night TV Brings Two Losses

Two Sunday Night shows, two huge characters gone on the same night. How much more can I take?

On “Desperate Housewives” what I feared was coming came to pass … The loan shark gunned down Mike in the final moments of the episode. So unfair! After so many seasons of Mike and Susan fans being given the shaft, the show gives us the ultimate one. Boooo!

On “Army Wives” we had to say goodbye to Pamela. After her house was destroyed in the hurricane, she chose to move to California to join Chase. She wanted to let the kids finish the school year before they all moved out, but it wasn’t meant to be. Pamela has always been my favorite on this show, so I am at a loss.

Two major blows in one night. So cruel!

Who Will Kick The Bucket on Housewives?

Who Will Kick The Bucket on Housewives?

Posted by Dustin on 03.06.2012 at 9:44 pm

So this past Sunday on “Desperate Housewives,” Roy finally learned the truth about Karen’s terminal cancer. It sure seems as if Karen is going to be the character to kick the bucket, doesn’t it? I don’t know, I always think the obvious choice never should be the obvious choice. Then again, time and time again with this show, that’s exactly what happens.

Both Mike and Renee got on Ben’s loan shark’s bad side. Killing off Renee would not really be shocking or devastating, Mike on the other hand . . . I’ve been worried for awhile now that it could be Mike they kill off. That would just be cruel!

Susan and Lynette battled it out over their grand baby. Susan came to Porter’s aid, while Lynette wanted him to learn to stand on his own if he planned to raise the kid.

Tom (and Jane) took all the kids off Lynette’s hands so she could have some time to herself. Tom was very insistant that they even take the baby . . . Jane hadn’t taken care of one in years. This . . . cannot . . . be . . . good. I swear if Tom has gotten her pregnant I will scream!

Bree finally caught onto Orson the psychopath and dumped his ass. Unfortunately he later dumped an envelope (of probable evidence) into a mailbox. Looks like more trouble is about to come for the girls!

Desperate Housewives: Evil Orson!

Desperate Housewives: Evil Orson!

Posted by Dustin on 02.20.2012 at 8:34 pm

So I didn’t write a thoughts update about last week’s “Desperate Housewives,” in part because the episode was soooooo boring and I didn’t have much to say about Lynette’s sexy time with her new guy. This week’s episode was much more enjoyable . . . though infuriating at the same time.

We’ve basically been told next month that a major character will die, well before the season finale in May (though there are only 7 new episodes left before the two hour finale . . . so I guess that means 9 episodes left in reality.) This episode heavily hinted that it could be Karen, who is fighting cancer. She’s doing so in secret, not having told the other women and also having kicked Roy out so he doesn’t figure out what is going on. The actress in real life has been going through her own cancer fight, so honestly I think it would be really sick and depraved to kill her TV character off with the disease. Would Marc Cherry be so cold?

I started getting the feeling in this episode that they might actually kill of Mike. He’s been between a rock and a hard place all season with his work for Ben. I could see him ending up getting killed off . . . which would suck!

Renee has also seemingly put herself in harms way. After getting roughed up by the loan sharks, Ben ended up in the hospital. Renee decided to pay them off to save him, even if he was an ass to her. He told her not to, it was his problem. He wanted to solve it, then give her a proper proposal. But even though they were paid off, the loan sharks still don’t seem satisfied and gave Renee veiled threats . . . . Could Renee find herself dead soon? While she’s a major character, she’s not one many have become attached to as she’s so new, so she is very expendable.

The other major story dealt with Orson “rescuing” Bree and helping her out. He rode in like a shining knight, called by the girls mind you, and then proceeded to LIE to Bree! She wanted to reach out to the girls, but he lied and claimed they were glad to be rid of her. Then in the final moments we learned what some had suspected all along . . . Orson has been behind a lot of misdoings! He has been spying on Bree for months, and he was behind all the notes in her mailbox. He pushed her over the edge with the hopes of being her hero . . . now he has her secluded in some kind of “Misery” setting out in Maine (or where he wants them to move to). Oh lord, I hope Bree wakes up and fast!

ACK! POST NOTE: I forgot the entire storyline with Susan, Julie and the baby! Susan learned that Lynette’s son Porter was the father. Porter wanted to step up and raise the kid, Julie wanted to put it up for adoption. Knowing her son, Lynette was on Julie’s side, while Susan was on Porter’s side. For once I actually found myself on Team Susan! I know, shocking. She usually does NOTHING right on this show, just causes more problems. Maybe that is what she’s doing, and I did feel for Julie as she told her mother “she took this choice from her . . . ” In other words Susan’s meddling has made it more difficult for her to give the baby up and not have to see it again. I still oddly find myself on Team Susan . . .

On “Grey’s” and “Private Practice,” a two part cross-over as they turn to Derek to help Mason’s mom Erica with her brain tumor.

Desperate Housewives: Don’t Call My Name, Alejandrooooooo . . . Just call me Ramonnnnnnnn

Desperate Housewives: Don’t Call My Name, Alejandrooooooo . . . Just call me Ramonnnnnnnn

Posted by Dustin on 01.25.2012 at 10:31 pm

So the latest episode of “Housewives” had Susan and Gabby scrambling to clean up Susan’s mess with Alejandro’s latest wife, who came to town thinking Susan had stolen her man. This all happened as Gabby was having the room Alejandro was killed in redone before Carlos came home, so he wasn’t further reminded of what happened. The blood stain on the floor and carpet she claimed was a wine stain.

Alejandro/Ramon’s wife showed up and met with Gabby, when Gabby decided it was time to tell the truth after Susan let her know another step-daughter had been molested. Gabby never said she killed Alejandro, but did point out his name was not Ramon, that he had a family before his new one, and disappeared on them . . . She said Alejandro returned to find her when she revisited her old home town and said some not nice things about him that got him angry. She told the new wife he was a child molester, which at first she wouldn’t believe . . . until her own daughter claimed it was true. All this coupled with the “Red Wine Stain,” well the new wife seemed to fill in the pieces. It seems like she’s keeping the secret . . . but who knows. I’m sure something will come out eventually and get the girls in hot water again. Ben’s construction site is in big trouble, I’m sure that cement foundation Alejandro is hidden in will break open at any moment! Knowing this show, it will crack when a tornado hits, and crashes a plane into it! Have they done an earthquake yet? That could be an option too!

Lynette attempted to move on by dating Renee’s hairdresser. Of course it was a huge disaster of a first date, because she did what she does best . . . critique and micro-manage. Apparently that’s what this guys ex-wife did, and it ended their marriage. Oops! But there must be something there, as it seems they give a second date a try. Frankly, I’m not sure I want to watch another date!

Bree, however, was a very very very fun date! Bree continued her drinking binge, along with her string of men. Her Reverend became concerned with her, even suggesting . . . no telling her that she wouldn’t be running the bake sale this year as it was for her own good. Bree didn’t like that, showed up, and got into a huge fight with a woman who happened to be married to one of her one-night-stands. Bree decided she liked being bad, the town slut, and walked out of the bake sale with her head held high. Honestly, I loved it! It was shades of Kimberly from “Melrose Place!”

Finally Ben proposed to Renee, who accepted. However his conscious got the best of him and he confessed while he loved her, he proposed because he was having money problems and she had money. Renee was devastated and ended things, unsure if Ben ever really loved her. Poor Renee! Why do I feel like Renee might end up with Tom in the end?
