Lily Tomlin will join “Desperate Housewives” this season in the recurring role of Mrs. McCluskey’s sister. Tomlin is a Tony and Emmy award winning actress, but is probably best known to an entire generation for the character of Edith Ann, a little girl sitting in a giant chair. The character was often featured on “Sesame Street” and other PBS kid shows.

Move over Edie and Gabby, a new sex kitten is taking over? Ausiello is reporting that Gail O’Grady will join “Desperate Housewives” this season as a recurring character. He originally hinted that the story was to have her lusting after one of Lynette’s teenage sons, but that might have changed. That’s already been done with Gabby and John in season 1, so hopefully they’ll find a different story for her character.
Six year old Madison Delagarza, who is the half-sister of Disney Channel star Demi Lovato, will play Gabby and Carlos’ oldest daughter Juanita when “Desperate Housewives” returns in the fall.

Some tidbits for the coming season of “Desperate Housewives” . . . .
Susan will be the housewife that has gone through the biggest change, and we’ll learn why she and Mike split up. It’s supposed to be tragic.
Lynette will be dealing with her two twins, who are getting into trouble with the law. Tom is going through a mid-life crisis and now drives a mustang.
Gabby has her two kids, is not the glamorous woman she once was. Carlos is still blind, has a job and is a functional member of society.
Edie returns in the fifth season premier with her new love interest (Neal McDonough) who is out for revenge. This is the new mystery of the season.

Eva Longoria-Parker told “Entertainment Tonight” that for her role as Gabriel on “Desperate Housewives” that she’s been eating to put on weight. The end of last season had her not looking like herself and having two small daughters. She’s also cut her hair to a short bob for the show, which she unveiled today to announce the Alma Award Nominees.
Never fear Gabby fans, by mid-season something supposedly happens to make Gabriel drop the weight and get back to her old fashionable self. I’m taking a guess that it might have something to do with Edie’s return to the show. Edie is rumored to now be the wife of Neil Mconough’s new character on the show. Edie, if you recall, left Wisteria Lane in the episode before the 2 hour finale after the other housewives turned on her. Oh and Neil’s character, he moves into the show in the first episode and starts the new mystery for this season. Marc Cherry says he has revenge on his mind!

Lynette’s aged kids on “Desperate Housewives” have been cast.
Joshua Moore will play Parker, the oldest and quiet one of the bunch.
Charles and Max Carver play Porter and Preston, the twin boys who have turned into the teens from hell this season (getting themselves arrested, throwing parties, smoking and drinking!). They are going to be around 15 or 16.
Kendall Applegate will play Penny, the youngest and daughter. She’s said to be 8 or 9 now.

People Magazine spoke to James Denton, who said that Mike Delfino will be back on next season’s “Desperate Housewives,” but he and Susan will be split up! Hence the reason 5 years later Susan had a new husband.
Kristin at E! recently said Mike and Susan will be sharing custody of their son Maynard.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Neil Mconough is joining “Desperate Housewives next season as a white-collared resident who could cross paths with Edie Brit.
Neil may be most familiar to many for his recent role as the Tin Man on SciFi’s miniseries “Tin Man.”
Lynette’s kids are currently being re-cast as tweens and teens, as well as Susan and Mike’s 5 year old son Maynard.
No winter edition this year it seems.
