Dirty Sexy Money: The Wedding Day
Posted by Dustin on 12.10.2008 at 5:46 pm
I had started this post and forgot to finish it! It was for last week’s “DSM.”
The week befores episode was supposed to be the Thanksgiving episode, but it was bumped for the Barbra WaWa special, and ABC just decided not to air it or even (as of yet) put it on ABC.com. It was supposedly a filler episode, which I guess makes sense since it seems based on this past week’s episode we missed no huge storyline developments.
Patrick decided to hire Jeremy to be part of his campaign team. Basically he was just the office gopher, as he had no real experience in politics (or anything!). Nola hated this and wanted him fired. This was an over-used plot in these situations. Patrick lost a big investing candidate for his energy bill, because of Tripp, but Jeremy knew the guys son and scored the guy for Patrick (and saved his job). There was no surprise here, as I said this has been done before.
Tripp asked Nick to set up a lunch date with Ren, but Ren wasn’t interested in Tripp that way. When Nick invited her to Karen’s wedding, Tripp was not happy. He sabotaged Nick and Ren by telling Letitia how he had let himself have feelings for Ren and he was sorry, she was the only woman for him. Letitia then kicked Ren out, thinking she was scheming to steal her husband. What Tripp couldn’t have, neither could Nick! Letitia played right into Tripp’s game to get rid of Ren and hurt a relationship for her and Nick. Honestly though, Nick hasn’t even signed the divorce papers . . . this is the last thing he needs. Plus I think we all know he’ll probably end up with Karen.
Lisa went to the wedding with Jeremy to try and make Nick jealous. Too bad she’s so boring that her plan didn’t work! Nick and Lisa both realized it was over, it wasn’t going to work, but they seemed civil about it. I still expect Lisa to end up with a Jeremy Darling in the oven.
Tripp agreed to sell his shares in Darling Enterprises to Simon to call off the wedding, which he did. Karen was left jilted at the alter. However rather than waste everything, Brian proposed to Andrea and they married. Andrea is apparently dying, the radical drugs didn’t work. Their son knew his mom was sick and was afraid she was dying, but Brian said she wouldn’t die. Brian still won’t give up on Andrea. These two are my favorites on the show, so I would like to see them get a happily ever after in the end.
Tripp pulled a fast one on Simon in a move I never saw coming. I eventually figured it out, but loved it! When Tripp lost controlling share, basically all his associates and the people he had deals and contracts with walked. Darling Enterprises tanked, the company went belly up in hours! Tripp then offered to buy back the stocks from Simon, but he wouldn’t give up that easily. Tripp and Simon in the end became partners, each owning 50 percent. Oh you know it’s now going to be a battle between them to kill the other!
Frankly this was one of the best shows of the series, if not THE best show. I’m so miffed that ABC canceled it so early. Note to NBC: perhaps you should pick up some of these shows since the ones you usually develop deserve to be canceled?
Closure for fans of Dirty Sexy Money
Posted by Dustin on 12.04.2008 at 12:13 pm
TV Guide is reporting that the final episode of “Dirty Sexy Money” will reveal who killed Dutch, so fans won’t be hanging. However it’s unknown if the final episodes will be on ABC.com or a DVD release.
“The Ex-List,” which was quickly canceled by CBS, is doing a similar thing on DVD. The whole 13 episode season was finished and will be put out on DVD. By the end of the episodes Bella finds her one true love.

Dirty Sexy Money: The Break Up
Posted by Dustin on 11.20.2008 at 7:43 pm
In this episode Letitia, driving around celebrating her freedom, hits a bicyclist! While she checked out as fine, the family brought her home to recover, in hopes of keeping her from suing. The last thing Letitia needs is to end up in court again. The bicyclist, a cute young blond named Ren, caught Tripp’s eye and Letitia took notice. The ironic part was, Ren seemed taken with Nick! So it’s like Dutch all over for Tripp, the woman he loves loves Nick.
Nick and Lisa tried to work things out, but some misunderstandings with Nick meeting Karen (to tell her it was over and he had to make things work with Lisa) as well as her seeing the conversation between Nick and Karen that Simon had recorded (in which she told Nick she’d be with him if he said the word) were too much for Lisa. She and Karen had a great cat fight though, one a long time coming. Nick and Lisa both agreed though that it was over. Is anyone shocked at all?
Lisa, for all her high and mightiness in her kiss off speech to Nick, jumped in the sack with Jeremy that night. She said it was only about the sex, just so he was clear, as she didn’t want to be alone. I have to say, I’m not feeling for Lisa that much really, as she is going to end up married to someone in the Darling family (or knocked up by one!).
Brian and (the woman whose name I always forget!) argued over whether she should have some experimental cancer treatment that could save her. She preferred to die with dignity and die living rather than on drugs. However she couldn’t tell their son, and after a disaster of a dinner party she told Brian she had to live because she couldn’t leave her son with him and this family. Too funny! I really love these two together, and Brian is quickly becoming my favorite on the show because of his snarky insults.
Finally Simon has clearly become a villain and it seems one with no redeeming qualities. It became clear in this episode he didn’t love Karen, he told Nick as much during a confrontation when he said he could have her back when he was done with her. Later he blackmailed Nola to continue working with Patrick. She was fed up and didn’t want to do this anymore, but Simon is apparently holding her little brother somewhere and that’s what he’s using to get her to do his dirty work. He has her convincing Patrick to be on some environmental committee so he can get some biofuel technology passed.

ABC Cancels Several Shows?
Posted by Dustin on 11.16.2008 at 1:06 pm
The Futon Critic, using screen captures from ABC’s site for advertisers, has revealed ABC’s Mid-Season schedule. This is not expected to be officially revealed to the press until next week.
The shockers? “Pushing Daisies” and “Dirty Sexy Money” are not on the schedule, neither is “Life on Mars.” “Scrubs” and “The Goode Family” take the place of “Daisies” while “The Unusuals” takes the place of “Money” on the schedule. “Private Practice” indeed moves to Thursday’s in “Life on Mars’” place. “Eli Stone” however remains on the schedule.
The story/site notes that it is possible that “Money” and “Daisies” may just finish their seasons early and could be considered for next season, not officially canceled.
ABC MAY Move Around Some Shows
Posted by Dustin on 11.12.2008 at 11:26 am
It was reported that early next year “Lost” would return to its 9pm Wednesday slot. ABC may move “Private Practice” to 10pm Thursdays behind “Grey’s” and put “Life on Mars” behind “Lost” on Wednesdays. Of course “Dirty Sexy Money” now seems to be . . . . um, nowhere?

Weekly spoilers from ABC for several shows, including “Brothers and Sisters” (the return of Steven Weber!), “Desperate Housewives,” “Dirty Sexy Money” (the return of Samaire Armstrong!), “Private Practice,” (Grant Show’s episode as Addison’s brother) and “Samantha Who.”
Note: “Grey’s” this week is a repeat of the 2 hour season premier, it seems there is no “Ugly Betty” because of this (or there is a Thanksgiving special on instead).
