Some official ABC spoilerish bits follow. A good number of “Dirty Sexy Money” spoilers and Grant Show’s appearance on “Private Practice” as Addison’s brother.
Ausiello revealed that John Scheider will join “Dirty Sexy Money” as a congressmen who is blackmailed by Tripp into screwing over Simon Elder. Hmmm, interesting!
Over on “Ugly Betty,” Access Hollywood has reported that Nikki Blonsky, who played Tracey Turnblad in the film adaptation of “Hairspray,” joins the show for a guest spot as an assistant and “Elle” magazine who could be trouble for Betty.
Last week the main story on “Dirty Sexy Money” was Patrick’s race for the senate. Unfortunately for him, Ellen’s brother returned determined to reveal Patrick had killed his sister. He was paid money to go away, as Ellen had been paying him off all along it seemed. I somewhat wish Nick had told him what really happened, that Ellen went alcoholic nuts and slipped trying to kill Patrick.
Patrick won the race, but in the process lost Carmelita. Tripp made sure to tell Carmelita exactly what really happened to Ellen, and how the cover-up was in part to protect her and what people might say about her. That was a load of bull and Patrick knew it. However Tripp’s mind-trip worked. Carmelita dumped Patrick as she couldn’t be with a man who would cover up a crime the way he had.
Speaking of mind-trips, Simon pulled one of his own this week. He flat out told Nick he planned to marry Karen, take her shares of Darling Industries and combine them with his to take over the company. Nick played into his hands and told Karen, and she of course thought Nick was lying and being the jerk. She ran right to Simon and agreed to marry him. I really hope something bigger is going on here, that Karen IS smarter than this. I’d hate to think she really is being played for a fool.
Speaking of feeling like a sucker . . . Lisa learned the only way she’d be able to open her own gallery was to have a big name celebrity partner. Jeremy offered to help her out, but she knew Nick wouldn’t like it. He didn’t, and he forbid it. I loathed that Nick actually made me side with Lisa! Nick felt she couldn’t have boundaries with Jeremy because they kissed. Um hello, Karen Darling? Grrrrr! Lisa ended up going behind Nick’s back and signing with Jeremy. Actually Jeremy went behind her back and did it, she then just decided to go along and that Nick could never find out.
Brian and his ex-mistress fought over Brian Jr. this week, what was best for him and who should have custody. The only one thinking with their brain was Brian Jr. He stated he wanted to stay in New York and he wanted his parents to work this out for all of them. Brian and the woman (forgetting her name) agreed to try and do what was best for their son. Again you can tell these two will hook up. I do wonder what happened to his ex-wife and his daughters. They must be on that island with Juliet 
Finally Tripp had some type of heart attack or scare and was rushed to the hospital, but he was okay. Nick was the last one staying with him. Letitia had to return home as she was only given a short leave from house arrest. She pointed out to Nick that all of Tripp’s kids had left, yet he was still there . . . Nick then intercepted a phone call meant for Jeremy . . . from Nola Lyons!

P.S. Looks like “Housewives and “Brothers and Sisters” are knocked out for the “American Music Awards.”
So on the latest episode of “Dirty Sexy Money,” Nick learned that Nola Lyons was calling his mother as the star witness. It seems she was the last to talk to Dutch while he was alive. Furthermore she’s been living in France on Letitia Darling’s money.
Nick was a bit miffed with Letitia, who told him his mom wanted to go. That back then they didn’t know what was wrong with her, she was just unhappy. These days she’d probably be diagnosed as bipolar.
Nick went to France and basically found his mom living with some guy in a nice chateau, and learned Letitia was telling him the truth. His mom did want to leave, she cracked and couldn’t handle things. She told Nick that her father called her the day he died. He had just that day found out Brian was his son, and he was leaving Letitia and the family. He was sorry for everything, he still loved her and wanted another chance.
Nick’s mom said she was scared, she called Letitia, Letitia said she’d handle things. Nick told his mom Letitia didn’t kill dad, and to trust him on this. He asked her to stay in France, not to testify, which in the end she did.
This was the main story in this episode, and I don’t have much to comment about. I was rather annoyed with Lisa, yet again. She was upset Nick was going to see his mother, as she had tried to get him to do it before but he wouldn’t. He in fact did try once before, but his mom stood him up. She felt yet again it was something Nick would do for the Darlings and not her. Lisa is becoming REALLY annoying!
Patrick had a debate in this episode in his run for Senate. He wanted to come clean about Ellen’s murder, even if it cost him everything. He wanted a life with Carmelita, who was still missing. Tripp didn’t want to hear this, and during the debate arrives with Carmelita on his arm. Patrick said nothing and played his part. Tripp sent Carmelita away and told Patrick she agreed with him, she didn’t want him ruining his career. He said tonight Patrick was presidential. He gave Patrick the address where Carmelita was, so he went to her at the end.
Brian headed to Brazil in this episode as his son was being left home alone at night while his mom went out. He was sure the mom was partying, and he was going to take his son away. However he got their to find out the mom had been working a night job as a waitress. He talked to her, saying he was sending money to help out. She was too proud to take it, but eventually agreed to for Brian Jr’s sake. Brian headed home, with his son stowing away on the plane. You know what this means, the mom will come back to New York at some point. I think there was a lot of hinting that these two would end up together, and the kid seems to be trying to get them together.
The final story was the ongoing drama of Karen and Simon, with Simon still pushing Karen to get over Nick. He wanted her to see Nick didn’t love or respect her. She went to talk to Nick, but talked to Lisa instead. She realized the Nick she loved, the Nick that Lisa loved, didn’t seem to exist anymore. She was ready to move on with Simon. Simon later made a call saying they had Karen where they wanted her. I’m still wondering who he has been talking to in these calls. At first I thought, what if he’s been plotting with Lisa? That would make sense, but she doesn’t have anything to give him . . . other than Karen. The real shocker of course is if he’s actually been plotting with Tripp all along.

(Presidential Politcs look to take out “Grey’s” yet again this week, possibly “Brothers and Sisters” as well).
The premier of “Dirty Sexy Money” was last night and wow did they ever ramp up the sleaze on the show. Word was they were going to, as it just wasn’t dirty or sexy enough last season.
The show picked up several months where last season left of, long long ago. Fortunately there were some recaps, in a way, to remind us what had happened.
This show centered around a party the Darlings were throwing for Nick, but troubled abound of course. Jeremy Darling was still stalking Lisa, and she got drunk and kissed him. Nick saw and ran to Karen Darling, who unfortunately claims she’s finally thinking about another man . . . Simon Elder.
Simon told Karen he loved her, and she said “Thanks, I think your neat too!” OMG! Hilarious! Karen continued spying on Simon for her dad, but at the end of the show said to Simon how she didn’t want to be used by him or her dad in their little war . . . as she was feeling something for him and wanted to explore that. When Karen left, Simon made a call saying “We Got Her!” Seems like Simon has been playing Karen, but has Karen played Simon? She stole this little trinket from his house he claimed was one of the first things he bought in this country, it was only worth anything in value to him. She gave that to her dad. So is Karen playing him . . . or is there a bug in the trinket? I think the later, as I think Simon wanted her to take it.
Over to Patrick, whose wife had become a full fledged alchie. She was furious that Patrick wanted Carmelita over her. When he was in the shower, she came and started attacking him with a fire poker, shattering the shower door. She made the comment that she had taken care of Carmelita and he’d never see her again . . . right before she slipped and killed herself. OMG OMG OMG! I was stunned they killed his wife, and now Carmelita is being held lord knows where. This will allow Simon to come in and play hero to Patrick I bet.
Brian’s ex ran off with his kid back to Brazil in this show, even though Trip was supposed to have taken care of things. Brian’s storyline didn’t interest me too much, there wasn’t much to it really. I did love the comment he made to his dad about how he quit being a priest because he was sick of hearing people whine about their problems, yet working for him that’s all he’s getting. He also said so far the only fun this job has been was when he got to take over a factory and fire a lot of people. Good lord this man is messed up.
Jeremy went to drown his sorrows at a bar, meeting Lucy Lui’s character, who got him drunk and had sex with him in his limo.
All of this happened and led up to Nick’s birthday party. Patrick and Trip had reconciled because Trip helped take care of the mess with his dead wife, who was sent to the summer house which mysteriously burned down as Patrick was at the Patrick. Patrick also claimed to be sailing in the Hamptons with Brian the past two days. Nick and Lisa made up at the party just in time for the cops to storm it and arrest . . . Letitia for the murder of Dutch! Did she do it? No, but I think one of the Darlings did . . or thinks they did. I still maintain Dutch faked his death.
Strangely missing was Juliet Darling. She’s said to only have some bit parts, and the spoiler/rumors are she’s become involved with a Hoippy Cult. Also gone was Nick and Lisa’s little girl. I’m not sure what has happened to her. Finally Brian’s wife and two little girls were not mentioned. She was considering leaving Brian at the end of last year.
All in all, two thumbs up! I really love this show, loved it last season too. I hope it does well enough to stick around.
