So I didn’t make any comments on last week’s “Ghost Whisperer.” Honestly I wasn’t sure what to say. This was the episode that dealt with the Iraq War veteran whose squad followed him home and was haunting him for some reason. The show was so much more serious than others it was just a “wow, that was powerful” episode.
This week’s episode went back to the more creepyesque storyline. This week Melinda had to help a ghost who was stalked in life and died under mysterious circumstances. Of course the guy who was stalking her went after Melinda, until she was able to stop him and bust him. I should have seen the end coming, but I didn’t. Knowing of her powers, he killed himself to stalk her forever! Creepy! However it doesn’t seem to have worked, as once again while in a basement the ghost was grabbed by the mysterious hands and pulled through the wall into the underground.
Next week is the episode where Gabriel returns, as well as Melinda’s father. We should hopefully get some answers about them as well as what is going on with this haunted underground in Grandview. I’m unable to figure this mystery out. Hopefully it won’t be some “it’s situated on a vortex” explanation. Also they seem to have totally dropped Professor Payne’s feelings for Melinda and the blog writer who it appeared was going to expose Melinda. What gives?

Ghost Whisperer: Bloody Mary! Plus some Moonlight Talk
Posted by Dustin on 10.07.2007 at 3:48 pm
I really enjoyed this week’s episode of “Ghost Whisperer.” If you missed it, it was about the local university and a group of girls being haunted by Bloody Mary, who of course as it turns out was originally from Grandview.
While the episode was good, in fact one of my favorites so far, it didn’t do much to advance the story of Gabriel, Melinda’s father or her mother’s secret. It was a very stand alone episode. I couldn’t help but feel it would have been better off being the Halloween episode. Now I wonder how they’ll top it for Halloween?
In other news, “Moonlight” kinda failed to hold my attention this week. I did kinda pay attention to it, and I know what went on, but it just didn’t lock me in. Given it follows GW, I’ll probably continue to watch it, I just don’t know if it will be one of those shows I love. It’s definitely not a “must see” show for me at this point.

Ghost Whisperer Premier! Plus Moonlight Thoughts
Posted by Dustin on 09.29.2007 at 1:41 pm
So last night was the season premier of “Ghost Whisperer.” I liked it, but it seemed a bit disconnected from last seasons finale. For starters, I got the impression at the end of last season that Melinda’s father was somehow evil and therefore spawned Gabriel, who was evil. In this premier it seems like Melinda’s father was good and he left to protect her from something almost. I didn’t get it. Also Melinda’s mom claims she doesn’t have another child and Melinda doesn’t have a brother as far as she knows. We know her mother is a big fat liar, so is she lying, or did Gabriel come from the father after he left them? As one of you commented, Melinda’s powers seem to come from her mom and grandma, not her father as far as we know.
Also what was up with the professor in this episode? I got the impression he is in love with Melinda based on a little talk he was prepping to give her, about how there were so many things he wanted to say to her and didn’t think he’d get the chance when he thought she had died. Please don’t go there, I love Melinda and her husband’s relationship!
Melinda found out her family lived in Grandview for a few years before moving, her mother tries to warn her to leave the town, as if she knew something bad was going to happen. The ghost in this episode felt the whole underground of Grandview was somehow haunted. Then, in researching this episode, Melinda got warnings from some very angry ghosts who told her not to stick her nose into things. What is going on? Is Grandview ghost central or something?
Finally, we got introduced to some blogger college kid who snapped a photo of Melinda with a ghost in the background. Uh oh! He won’t let it go either, even though Melinda and the professor told him it was nothing. It seems someones out to expose Melinda this season!
After “Ghost Whisperer” was the new show “Moonlight,” which is about a vampire PI. I watched it and was entertained, but I think I need to see a few more episodes before I make up my mind. Given nothing is on Friday nights after GW, I’ll keep tuning in. For some reason though the promos at the end highlighting the love story between the Vampire and the girl made me think of “Beauty and the Beast.”

There are new shows coming up I do plan to tune into, but have to see the pilots to make up my mind (ex: Moonlight, Journeyman).

Ghost Whisper Season Finale: Shades Of Star Wars
Posted by Dustin on 05.12.2007 at 11:07 am
So the season finale of Ghost Whisperer was Friday. I dunno, it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be to be honest. I was expecting something huge as they kept hinting at this big bad dark following Melinda around.
Most of this episode centered around Melinda trying to find out the fifth tragedy and dealing with all the “special” children. It became apparent that the tragedy had something to do with the ceremony honoring the victims of the plane crash the year before. However the show dragged on and when it got to the final 15 minutes I began thinking “Okay how are they going to resolve this, the clock is ticking here.”
However the final 15 minutes were the best of the whole show! Melinda was killed and went into the light, where she met a strange shadowy figure. This figure was obviously not a good person though, they wanted her to know her other half, her dark half . . . . her brother! The little kids brought Melinda back though, angering this figure. We then learned her death was really the 5th sign, and that the figure was her father. Melinda has a brother!
Okay so it’s obvious her brother is Gabriel. Is he a twin though? We know her father left, maybe he had another kid with another woman? Though the powers seem to be with Melinda’s mother and grandmother. Also now that the fifth sign has come to pass, what does this mean? They seemed to drop the whole dead taking over the world story, well for now.

Okay this was one of the most bizarre episodes of the show. Through the whole thing I just sat there wondering where they were going with this? A bridge with falling cars? A boat in the sky? I wasn’t getting it, but at the end they really pulled it all together nicely with the 55555 thing. Why was the professor doing the math on his window though?
Through the whole episode I went back and forth between “They’re gunna kill Dehlia!” and “They’re gunna kill her husband!” Frankly they better not kill either off or I will be angry! I think early in the season there were hints Melinda’s husband would die. Don’t go there show! We already lost Andrea, we don’t need to go through this again.
The previews for next week have Melinda finding out who she really is. That should be interesting. Something from a past life maybe? I’m still not sure what the next big accident is, but I’m sure it has something to do with the dead taking over . . . which was totally ignored in this episode it seems. All I know is they better not leave us with another cliffhanger season finale, because CBS still hasn’t announced whether this show is coming back yet or not. I’m sure it will though, it is the ratings winner on Friday’s.
Ghost Whisperer Does Pulse?
Posted by Dustin on 04.28.2007 at 12:17 am
So tonight’s episode of “Ghost Whisperer” was so goood! But . . . . it kinda ripped off the movie “Pulse.” No not the horrid American remake, the original Japanese film. We’ll get to that.
In tonight’s episode Melinda met another Ghost Whisperer, but he wasn’t exactly good. As it turned out, years wrongly placed in a mental institution had twisted him and he was now collecting souls in his house instead of letting them pass on. A photograph showed a possible demon attached to him as well. Could it be that freaky guy from the end of last season and the beginning of this season? They did seem to drop him all together for a long long time. Given they brought back a woman from the plane, I think it might be him! He’s using this guy to do his bidding I think. I’m sensing another season cliff hanger. Hopefully the show gets picked up for season 3, it would suck to be left hanging.
We learned from Professor Payne’s wife that the dead were gathering, they were hungry for power, they wanted to be more powerful than the living. The new ghost whisperer Gabriel (the angel of death?) was a part of this little plot so it seems, or he’s being used. He doesn’t seem very stable. This whole “dead taking over the living” ultimately is the whole premise of the movie “Pulse.” Ghosts basically breakthrough and take over the world. I doubt many people are familiar with the movie, the US version was a bomb and probably wasn’t seen by many. However as I was watching the episode it was all I could think about.
Anyways, I’ll be excited to see where this goes come next week. I think there are only one or two more new episodes left though, the season ends earlier than other shows.
