So this week was the big sectionals episode. As they did last year with “Vocal Adrenaline,” magically “The Warblers” were not competing against “Nude Erections” . . . I mean “New Directions” this year (they mentioned they already won their sectionals). Man Ohio likes to district a lot I guess! I guess we can also figure out it will all three will figure into Nationals heavily.
Sectionals came down to “New Directions,” “Trouble Tones” and one other group, who I can’t recall. They were fronted by one of the “Glee Project” members I believe. They came in third, and she was thrilled as she’s only a sophomore . . . there is so much waiting for her in the next few years. I took that as a sign that we’ll somehow see her in “New Directions” next year?
In the end, “New Directions” won. I assumed this would happen, I mean if they didn’t, where would the rest of the season go? I guess knowing this show, they could have had the “Trouble Tones” win though and then have them make things difficult for the others.
In the end Mercedes, Santana and the horrid singer rejoined “New Directions.” Quinn let them know they were not only welcomed back, but Mr. Shue would guarantee them songs in upcoming competitions.
Quinn contemplated turning Shelby in to make sure they won the competition, but in the end didn’t. In spite on Shelby and Puck’s huge mistake, she knew Shelby was a good mom to Beth, and that is where Beth belonged.
With Sam back at school, he vowed to win Mercedes back. She claimed she had moved on, but by her smiles we knew she hadn’t. Oh the scenes with him in the strip club as Rachel and Finn went to get him back were hilarious! “That’s not something I can even unsee!” “Give me a dagger!”
Did anyone notice how well Efee, I mean Mercedes was dancing up on that stage? Guess she was just making excuses all along!
I loved seeing a bit more from Tina and Mike Chang in terms of singing in the latest competition. Also the story with Mike’s father realizing this is what he was ment to do was good too.
Glee: Santana Kissed A Girl!

So it’s been awhile since I wrote about “Glee.” I know, bad me! In truth I’ve had a love-hate-like relationship with the show lately. I either love an episode, I like it, or I just hate it. I am not a “West Side Story” fan, so I despised many of those themed episodes.
I was a little disappointed in the whole Presidential Election story. It almost seemed like Kurt would have won had Rachel not interfered, even if her intentions were good. Now Rachel has been suspended and prevented from competing in sectionals . . . . wait maybe there is a bright spot! As much as I love her voice, it’s time someone else get a larger role. However they are still competing against the “Trouble Tones” which have all the strong female singers who have defected . . . or will they?
Puck sleeping with Shelby was just EW! What’s with all these shows having the kids sleep with the teachers? I don’t care if they are really 30 in real life. Ew! “Glee” did at least make it clear that Puck was 18 (cause we all know he’s been held back a few years at this point). But he idiotically admitted it to Quinn, or so we are lead to believe. Something tells me the “Trouble Tones” in fact won’t be competing in sectionals when this comes out, and I think Quinn will leak this bit of information. I see a reunited group come sectionals.
I loved the latest episode with Santana coming out. All the songs were so well chosen and done! Well, maybe not “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” I think it’s such an iconic song that people shouldn’t redo Cyndi
Though she herself has redone so many of her old songs in concert, who knows, this may be one of her arrangements for the song. Santana’s Abeula (Grandma) reaction made me sad
The previews have shown us with Rachel’s suspension, the group realizes they need Sam back to help them. Fortunately he’s been stripping in a local club! Oh my . . . . .
Glee Casting Bits and Spoiler Blurbs!
Posted by Dustin on 11.01.2011 at 12:22 pm
Remember that little show on Fox? The one with the kids and singing? Yeah, “Glee” is finally returning with new episodes tonight. Here are a few casting and spoiler bits for the show . . . .
The winner (well one of them) of “The Glee Project” Damian McGinty will join as Rory, a transfer student.
Grant Gustin will play Sebastian, a Warbler who apparently becomes part of a love triangle with Blaine and Kurt.
Jonathan Groff will return in a future episode as Jesse St. James as Vocal Adrenaline’s new coach. Alex Newell from “The Glee Project” is apparently the school’s new star.
Samuel Larson (the other winner of “The Glee Project”) will show up after Christmas. Lindsay Pearce also from “The Glee Project” returns as well. She was part of the show choir group Rachel and Kurt met briefly and were stunned by how good they were.
Look for Santana to sing “I Kissed A Girl” in an episode where she comes out to her parents.
Glee’s 2nd Christmas album will be released on November 15th and will feature songs such as “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Let it Snow” “Santa Baby,” “Christmas Wrapping,” “Do They Know Its Christmas?” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

First reported by TV Line it’s now being reported all over that Chord Overstreet is in negotiations to return to “Glee” as Sam in time for December. Yay! But that could mean a big love triangle for Mercedes, who is dating a new guy now.

So I realize I’ve been bad with “Glee” thoughts. Mondays and Tuesday’s are hectic TV days, and Wednesday I get home late. The second episode of “Glee” this season I really didn’t like. I’m not a “West Side Story” fan, and there were a lot of numbers from it in that episode. I did like that Quinn return to the fold, as did Shelby. It was great that Shelby wanted Puck and Quinn to be a part of Baby Beth’s life. However Quinn wants to get custody back. Good luck! I did not like the previews from the latest episode have her being shady about it, trying to hurt her baby to make Shelby look bad? WOW! Puck meanwhile, the previews hinted that he and Shelby might be getting a little too close for comfort. Oh no!
The past episode “Asian F” I loved. It was nice seeing Mike Chang in more of a leading role for once, dealing with his parents disapproval of his wanting to dance rather than study law or medicine. Hearing him really sing by himself was a nice surprise too. I also LOVED the return of Vampire Tina.
Both Britney and Rachel have decided to run against Kurt for president. I feel bad for Kurt, but loved Britney’s pep rally.
Rachel and Mercedes went all out for the role of Maria. Mercedes started to out diva Rachel, not taking dancing practice seriously. The entire Glee Club went into a “Dream Girls” number where they told Mercedes/Effie they’re tired of her diva ways . . . the number right before “And I Am Telling You.” It was great . . . but not as great as Shue kicking her out of the club. At this rate they are not going to have enough members ready in time for sectionals!
Mercedes decided to join Shelby’s club, making her the lone member. Previews seemed to show her getting Santana on board. Two members? What can they do with that? They can’t compete, show choir rules say you need at least 12 members. Unless we are supposed to just forget that tid bit from season one?
Will met Emma’s parents, who she was keeping from him. They are ginger supremacists as Emma put it, and dinner with them was a disaster as they criticized Emma most of the time. Will finally stood up to them for her, making him her hero yet again. Awwww. They seemed to be hinting at marriage in their future. I smell the return of Teri soon if that happens!
Glee Season 3 Premier Thoughts!
Posted by Dustin on 09.24.2011 at 6:51 pm
“Glee” returned, and I finally watched it (twice, the first time I was unfortunately not fully concentrating). So finally, here are my thoughts . . .
Yay for Will and Emma! It took long enough! However I can’t but help wonder what, or who, will come between them. It can’t be this easy now can it? A John Stamos return? Terry?
Sue running for politics and vowing to destroy the arts until every kid can read was . . . pretty dumb. I mean Will said it in the episode, those involved in the arts are likely to do better academically. I hope someone suggests she cut the Cheerios and the Football team instead at some point.
So many people left or got the boot from the Glee Club in this episode. Sam moved to another town, Lauren decided it was ruining her reputation and left, Quinn quit to become this bad ass punk (I did love her new look!) and eventually Will kicked Santana out because she sided with Sue and destroyed some pianos that Will got for the club. What the hell! Blaine transfered in, I guess we can also guess the kids who won the whole “Glee Reality Show” thing on Oxygen may show up too as members.
I was a little sad that they immediately in the first episode dived into the fact that some of the kids will be graduating this year and moving on, most notably Finn, Rachel and Kurt. I’m not sure where the others stand in terms of graduating, though Tina did state she and Artie were Juniors still. I don’t know why I always thought Kurt was a year under Quinn, Rachel and Finn. Actually they didn’t even tell us what year Quinn was, nor Puck or Britney or Santana. I assumed they were all in Finn and Rachel’s year too. I guess they are going to have to back track with some cast members, they can’t kick the whole Glee club out at the end of the year.
I loved the songs in this episode, especially the closing number from “Hairspray.” Mr. Shue was the original Link Larkin on Broadway, so it was a fun nod. It would have been great to see him singing too, perhaps he felt he sang that number enough though.
My final thought is . . . if Will is so concerned about the people in Glee Club being able to sing this year, Mike Chang better watch it!
Glee: End of the Road for Rachel, Kurt and Finn?
Posted by Dustin on 07.14.2011 at 10:05 am
Yesterday Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that Finn, Rachel and Kurt would not return for season 4 of “Glee,” their characters would be graduating. There was no mention of the likes of Puck or Quinn, but I’m assuming they are all in the same class.
However the characters might not be gone forever, as Murphy talks to TV Line about the idea that the graduates could try and make it in New York, which could mean a spin-off of the hit show.
Chord Overstreet Leaving Glee?
Posted by Dustin on 07.07.2011 at 4:23 pm
Last week reports began swirling that Chord Overstreet (Sam) was leaving “Glee,” while Darren Criss (Blaine) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang) were upgraded to full cast members.
Fox hasn’t issued a statement on the matter.
On The Red Carpet now seems to indicate that Chord’s option to be a regular wasn’t picked up, and the actor is still welcomed on the show in his recurring role.
Glee: It’s The Prom! It’s Friday!
Posted by Dustin on 05.12.2011 at 8:33 pm
So I really enjoyed the storylines in this episode, just not so much the music. Of course “Dancing Queen” was a perfect end for the episode . . . but everything up to there? Not so much. I mean some of the songs they were singing at the prom were kinda depressing, like “Jar of Hearts.”
Then there was “Friday.” Shoot me now! Just when everyone had begun to forget about that song, “Glee” has to bring it back! At least their performance was a tad more enjoyable than the original . . . .
Kurt being nominated Prom Queen was heartbreaking. I felt so bad for him! I had read the spoilers, I just assumed the joke was on Dave for being such a mean closeted bully, but it wasn’t.
Kurt taking his crown and challenging Dave to finally take a real stand and come out was very powerful, but I wasn’t expecting Dave to come out. I do hope Santana will by the end of the season though.
Only two more episodes left, and that slime Jesse is back. I can’t help but think he’s still out to help Vocal Adrenaline and not New Directions.

I have to say, while I liked the storylines in the latest “Glee” episode, I was not a fan of a lot of the music. Don’t get me wrong, I love Fleetwood Mac . . . however the “Rumors” album was a bit before my time, and I didn’t know a lot of the songs off it they sang. I feel like a “Fleetwood” episode would have been better, featuring the most popular songs by them, with some of their 80s and 90s stuff thrown in.
The storyline with Sam I thought was really well done, and timely given the economy. Everyone thinking he was seeing Kurt on the sly was hilarious.
The “Fondue For 2″ storyline of course was great. I’m really loving the Santana struggling with her lesbianism storyline. Next week is the prom episode which an extra totally spoiled. The drama will be brought!
I love the strides that Emma has been making with her OCD. We may finally get her and Will together by the end of this season . . . . though I still worry Teri is pregnant from that slip Will had awhile back.
