As I said, it was a fun episode, but it seemed that the point was you could play the “What If” game all you wanted, but perhaps some things were fated to be . . . As the episode wound down it seemed like everyone was slowly morphing into who they really were. Alex was caught cheating, Addison was consumed with a baby, Bailey found a backbone, and Meredith and Derek ended up together at the bar together . . . I did love seeing the one dead doctor (killed during the crazed gunman spree) back.

Too bad we couldn’t get a “What If” episode of “Private Practice” and erase some of this show huh? Like “What If” they didn’t save Pete! Pete caught Violet kissing Paramedic Scott and flipped. He didn’t want her seeing him anymore. Hello, you’ve been boning girls in elevators Mr. Man! Thankfully Violet unleashed holy hell on Pete, reminding him that he left her, he doesn’t get to tell her what she can or can’t do anymore. What an arse!

Erica got into an accident with Mason in the car, which infuriated Cooper. Long story short, Cooper and Charlotte convinced Erica to try and fight to survive. This of course is going to lead to the upcoming cross-over episode.

Sam got a call and had to bail someone out of the drunk tank in jail. She eerily looked very much like Sam and Naomi’s daughter, but we quickly learned in the final moments of the show that it’s his sister.

Addison and Jake went away on a conference, and basically the sexual tension between them built. He turned her offers for sex down. Based on the previews, it looks like she hooks back up with Sam . . . . WHY !?!?!?!? Again we need a “What If” episode that sticks! What if Sam and Naomi never broke up

Finally the deeply disturbing story of an army vet who returned from Iraq with a shameful secret, he had been raped by his sergeant. The story was apparently inspired by a Newsweek report last year on the rising number of reported sexual assaults of men in the military.

ABC’S highly anticipated new paranormal thriller, “The River,” will have a two-hour premiere TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

In the first hour, “Pilot,” Dr. Emmet Cole, beloved adventurer and television personality goes missing deep in the Amazon. After a fruitless search for him, his family and friends abandon hope and hold a memorial service to commemorate his amazing life. His grieving wife, Tess, reluctantly tries to face the reality that her husband is gone, while her son, Lincoln, is more than ready to bury his past. Six months later Emmet’s location beacon mysteriously begins to relay a signal. Tess persuades Lincoln to join her and Emmet’s film crew on a journey through the Amazon to find him, a journey on which horrifying and almost mythical events will push them to their limits.

In the second hour, “Marbeley,” when the spirit of Dr. Emmet Cole mysteriously enters Jahel, the message is clear… go home! Woah, who didn’t see that one coming? Her movie career hasn’t exactly taken off, so I’m not shocked. I actually wouldn’t mind her returning, I know others loathed her character and were glad to see her go. Who knows what bridges she burned behind the scenes though.

During “Grey’s” we have an episode where Meredith wonders what if . . . her mother never died? She had never meet Derek?

Teddy was still in surgery and requested Christina to come aid her, and Christina had to basically keep her cool and not let Teddy know that Henry was dead. Ugh! I felt so bad for them both. Eventually after they finished with Teddy’s patient, Christina had to tell Teddy the truth. Horrible, it should have been anyone else! Owen is going to be in the doghouse with Christina I bet for this. I worry that Teddy will punish Christina somehow and blame her for his death, even if there was nothing to be done to save him.

The tension between Little Grey and McSteamy and his new gal was clear, but it seemed only Derek picked up on it all. Or he picked up on the fact that Little Grey still had feelings for Mark, which Mark seems to be oblivious too. Then Lexie realized Mark’s new gal is actually pretty great, which made things worse for her. I wonder how long they’ll continue to drag their reconciliation out?

The mistake Avery made with a patient in the last episode, Callie covered his ass and took the blame for him. He didn’t want her to, but she did anyways as she said he was young and she was his attending and it was her place to do this. I have a feeling that this will NOT play out well, that a lawsuit will be coming to Callie soon for malpractice.

The final few minutes at least brought some happiness. Derek and Meredith learned they got Zola back. Yay! That was needed because this was one downer of an episode.

The show opened with Meredith and Derek learning their hearing for Zola had been canceled. Meredith assumed they were not getting Zola, it was over. I don’t know if that was the case, I missed the first few minutes. I felt it was more Meredith jumping to the worst possible scenario and shutting Derek and his ideas to try again out.

Meredith and Alex ended up caring for a newborn, who had to be transported to another hospital for some procedure. Unfortunately on the way, their ambulance broke down in the middle of the road. They were a sitting bomb should anyone hit them with all the oxygen inside. They argued over who would stay with the baby, who was attached to all sorts of tanks. When they finally decided to chance it and move her outside, BAM they got hit! They survived, only to walk out and see bodies thrown from the cars that were in the accident all over the road!

Back at the hospital, Teddy brought Henry in. He needed an operation, the faulty implant the Chief put in had to come out. Teddy wanted Christina to do it, but she didn’t want Christina to know who she was operating on . . . she would work better that way. Yeah I knew based on last week when they had the fight where Teddy didn’t want him to go to med school that this story wasn’t going to end well. Henry died on the table, and Christina was her crass self not knowing who it was. Of course when she found out, she broke down in hysterics.

Teddy meanwhile was in surgery with a critical patient, and Owen realized he couldn’t tell her about Henry until after the surgery so she wouldn’t freak. Derek however learned about the ambulance accident.

This coming week’s show is going to be so sad! Why must Shonda never let her people be happy on these shows? Or happy for long?

(I only saw the first 30 minute of “Private Practice” last week, so I’ll catch up on it before this week . . . )

Christina used it as a “coolness” factor to decide what surgieres to put on her list. Meanwhile her new BFF mentor Teddy had her own problems. Henry decided he wanted to go to medical school, but Teddy didn’t like that. She didn’t want to be married to a med student for the next ten years . . . Ouch! It seems Teddy does like to have control over all, including her hubby? Or maybe she was just worried about the stress on his health really . . . Later though she came home to find Henry puking up blood. Oh no! I’ve always had this feeling that this wouldn’t last, that Henry would eventually kick the bucket. This is “Greys” after all, where happy ever after hardly ever happens.

Jackson used heart in a box to help him decide who and what he wanted. He had been avoiding Mark, mainly because of what he felt was going on with Lexie. In the end he realized he was sacrificing his career for a relationship that he wasn’t even confident in, so he dumped Lexie and chose Mark. I was thrilled, because I was not a fan of those two. Mark and Lexie belong together!

Lexie meanwhile began to realize this as well, as she and Derek helped an author through a brain tumor. The author was writing a series of romance novels that sounded suspiciously like “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” In this case though it was a female who travelled through time, and was caught between two men. Lexie was typing out the authors words for her, and was not happy that the traveler was going to end up with “the bad boy” and not “the nice guy.” It was basically a metaphor for her own relationship issues. She wanted the hero to end up with the good guy, but the author said “He’s not her soul mate, she doesn’t love him.” Lexie basically said “But she should . . . . ”

Finally Mama O’Malley returned as she needed an operation. Meredith and Bailey worked together on her case, and continued to work to solve their own issues with one another. Callie was petrified to tell her former mother-in-law that she now liked girls, had a wife and a kid. After all her own mother practically disowned her, and she knew the O’Malleys were practicing Catholics. In the end she did, and Mama O’Malley asked to see the photos of the baby, thrilled that her former daughter-in-law was happy and had a kid.

Oh did you think I had forgotten about that other show “Private Practice?” Well I haven’t. It’s just that “Project Runway” was on at the same time, and I found myself watching it over “Practice.” I kept up though, mostly watching the second half of “Practice” or just flicking between the two. What to say? The show has aggravated me, but I’ve enjoyed other parts. Here are some of my thoughts on the major storylines going on . . . .

Hate hate hate Pete! I hate that he’s taking all of his frustrations, moods, depression and what not out on Violet. It would serve him right if she did leave him after all of this. For all her faults, she was never so verbally abusive as he has been. I want to punch Pete in the face. Actually I want to see Sheldon do it!

Another person on my nerves? Sam! I’ve never been a fan of AddiSam, and he continues to show me why. The fact that he can’t decide if he wants to stick with her, if he can support her just annoys me. I loved that Jake called him out on it in this last episode where Addison was having her eggs harvested and inseminated.

I actually love Cooper being a dad, and watching him with his kid is so much fun. I just fear it will in the end tear him and Charlotte apart. I can see Cooper falling for the kids mom. Or I could equally see the kids mom suddenly dying, and Charlotte becoming an instant mom and it being a big problem for her.

The Amelia spiraling out of control storyline is probably the best thing the show has going for it right now. This is good drama!
