Hollywood Reporter is reporting that actress Amy Madigan will join “Grey’s Anatomy” for five episodes when the show begins it’s run again in April.
Amy is probably best known to many for her role as Sister Iris in the HBO series “Carnival” as well as for playing Kevin Costner’s wife in the movie “Field of Dreams.”
Entertainment Weekly and TVGuide are both reporting that it looks like when Grey’s returns, that Derek and Meredith will finally find their way back to each other by the end of the season! A wedding? An engagement? All that was hinted was that they’d be together for good.
Also Ava/Jane Doe will return for another three episodes (five are left this season) and McDreamy’s new interest Nurse Rose will appear in all five episodes.
Kate Walsh will reprise the character of Addison Montgomery on an upcoming episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” this spring.
“Grey’s” finally returns on April 24th, but her new show “Private Practice” won’t be back till the fall.

UNDERSCORING THE STRENGTH OF ITS FALL SCHEDULE, ABC ENTERTAINMENT PICKS UP NINE SERIES FOR NEXT SEASON
Pickups Return Fall’s Most Successful Series: “Brothers & Sisters,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Dirty Sexy Money,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost,” “Private Practice,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Samantha Who?” and “Ugly Betty” Receive Pickups for ‘08-’09 Season
Today ABC Entertainment announced pickups for nine of its most popular shows, returning broadcast television’s most successful fall series. ABC Entertainment ordered episodes of “Brothers & Sisters,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Dirty Sexy Money,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost,” “Private Practice,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Samantha Who?” and “Ugly Betty.”
“The strength of our schedule this fall was unprecedented and speaks for itself,” said Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. “We’re looking forward to building on that success.”
On average during Fall 2007 (10 complete weeks: 9/24-12/2/07), ABC was the No. 1 network among Adults 18-49 (3.9/10), delivering the top position in the key young adult sales demo on 7 of the first 10 weeks of the season and ranking No. 1 during the November Sweep for the third consecutive year. In addition, ABC claimed eight of the Top 20 highest-rated TV shows among young adults during the fall, including five of the Top 10 freshman series.

Very little to report on spoiler wise, but here are some for “Betty” and “Grey’s” right after the new year.
Sorry this is so late, and now it’s been so long I’ve forgotten some of the details! I do remember though that the second part of the two part “Grey’s Anatomy” was just depressing!
Lexie did her best to keep Seth Green’s character from bleeding out, but Sloan was busy with the heart patient and there were no ORs to work on him in. In the end, poor Seth Green kicked the bucket.
Sloan, Callie and Hahn meanwhile worked on the heart patient, who I believe also kicked the bucket! They were depressed and Hahn asked them all out for a drink, finally seemingly bonding with her fellow surgeons.
The one guy in the ambulance survived thanks to Meredith, and she convinced the widow of the other guy to stick around for him, suggesting they might need each other.
Bailey saved the Nazi guy, and stitched him up totally crooked ruining his tattoo. Hilarious! Predictably though her husband got fed up and was ready to leave her. Baily and the husband had poor George running back and forth passing messages between them.
Finally Derrek got his thang on with Rose the nurse, hinting at a future for them. Of course as the show ended Meredith finally got the nerve to tell him she didn’t want him to see other people. He was going to say something, but she made him say nothing. She wanted him to think and talk to her tomorrow.
Now we are ALL left hanging it seems. There is actually ONE more episode, but I don’t know if ABC will air it soon or not. This was such a natural season finale they may not. Also it seems that episode was filmed AFTER the strike began, and Shonda Rhimes has stated to various media outlets she didn’t have any input in that episode (I assume they filmed from the script and nothing got changed or added).
I really got the feeling that had Meredith not shut Derreck up, he was going to tell her it was too late.
So the show opened with a car pile-up on the interstate followed by a huge ambulance crash, and it all went downhill from there.
The two guys trapped in the ambulance for the entire episode was just heartbreaking. We knew the one was a goner, then to only find out at the end the second may not make it either! Heartbreaking, oh and a tad gross. I have trouble watching a lot of this show because of the gore, it’s too realistic!
Baily and her husband are once again having issues. She didn’t have time to talk in the morning before work, suggesting they do lunch. She of course was in surgery when he showed up. I think we know where this is going, he’s going to ask for a divorce and custody of the kid.
Baily was forced to operate on a white supremacist with a swastika tattooed on his stomach. I loved the way she handled herself, saying she would rise above this. I also loved before surgery she said “I’m calling on Jesus, I don’t do this often, I don’t know if he’s even listening.” It was great. Of course then when she had to make the cut, she went right down the center of his tattoo!
Sloane continued his pursuit of Hahn, and she continued shooting him down. I still don’t like this storyline. He should be pursuing Callie!
I’m completely over the Christina verses Izzy war, which seems to show no signs of slowing down. Christina is coming out looking like, well a very very bad word I can’t say on here! Christina may be a brilliant surgeon, but she’ll be a crummy doctor because she doesn’t care about her patients, just the glory of doing the biggest and best operation. Also what is up with George and Izzy? Are they still not over? I’m over them too!
Derrek did some serious flirting with new/old nurse Rose. Turns out she ended an engagement the past year. Why? She knew what she wanted, he didn’t. Hmmm, sounds familiar. Derek thought so too. No no no no no! Why couldn’t Meredith have just told Derek she didn’t want him seeing other people like she claimed she was going to? Why can’t she open her mouth and say she wants him?
Ava returned in this episode to see Alex. He of course didn’t tell her about Lexi, or vice versa. Slime! He got caught though when he snuck Ava into the observation deck to watch him work. She ran into Lexi, who realized Alex was basically seeing someone else. Well technically I guess he hasn’t, she did leave to go back home. However she keeps coming back, and Alex keeps hooking up with her. Alex needs to figure out who and what he wants.
Finally Seth Green checked into the hospital this week as a patient Sloan removed a tumor from on his neck. He was left with and exposed corroded artery that could blow at any moment, leading him to bleed to death. Well we know where this one was headed from the start! Seth took a liking to Lexi, they bonded over jerky boyfriends and girlfriends. Of course as the episode ended, Seth laughed, and his artery exploded all over Lexi! GROSS! I knew it was coming, but that was just nasty!
