If you’ve been watching the Olympics on NBC, you’ve no doubt noticed the barrage of new promos for “Heroes.” Here they are all in one lone promo, leaked online before it was schedule to air during a special NBC presentation at the end of the month. Tons of spoilers in this clip, including the return of Niki (who is now a completely different personality, again)
Ausiello is reporting that Robert Forster will play Aurthor Petrelli, the long dead father of Nathan and Peter. What isn’t known is if the father is alive or dead; or if he’ll appear in the present, past or a flashback.

At Comic-Con, a giant comic book convention, the 3rd season premier for “Heroes” was shown. Of course this means spoilers galore, and probably a few leaked videos.

Masi Oka (Hiro) talked with Sci Fi Wire about what’s coming up on the new season of “Heroes.” He hints that even the heroes have villains in them, and we’ll see this in the future versions of themselves.
He sais that Hiro and Ando will be doing more adventuring together in this season, and we’ll see ‘Future Hiro’ again. However it won’t be the one from Season 1, as he no longer exists because they stopped the bomb.
Also of interest, Zachary Quinto (Sylar) also spoke with Sci Fi and made hints that we could see some redeeming sides of Sylar in the new season as he is “conflicted” about some things.
Other tidbits that have been floating around . . . Kristen Bell’s character Elle will be back, but only for a handful of episodes and not as a permanent character. David Anders will also be back as the immortal Adam Monroe. We are supposed to learn he once used the last name Sanders, which will make him related to . . . Nikki!
Showbiz Spy spoke with Hayden Panettiere (Claire) who confirms that she will be playing two characters next season in “Heroes.” Well, sort of.
. . . her character takes a nasty turn in future episodes.
. . . . “It (the new script) has some really, really great story lines and a couple of us get to play two different characters.
So the photos showing Claire shooting what appeared to be an evil Peter do take place in the future as many guessed. The question now is, are they playing future versions of themselves, or entirely new characters?
*Update* Sci-Fi Wire also interviewed her and it’s confirmed that it’s future versions of themselves they are playing.

Val Emmich will join “Ugly Betty” as a possible new love interest for . . . . Betty !?! Wait, a third one!
Ntare Mwine is joining “Heroes” as an African who is artistic and close to many of the heroes. His powers will be revealed over the 9 episodes he’s scheduled for. A side note, I suspect this is the casting scoop Ausiello talked about months ago when he said the show was looking for a possible Australian Aborigine to take over for a bit as the narrator of the show.
On July 14th NBC begins the “Heroes” webisodes. The title of them is “Going Postal” as it’s about a mailman who acquires special powers. It’s said to be a three-parter, with new episodes released on the following Monday’s. Comic book fans will quickly realize the hero’s powers are awfully like those of Black Canary.
No winter edition this year it seems.
