The Cancellations Begin Coming In

By now most have heard that “Journeyman” on NBC is pretty much dead. NBC’s deadline to pick up more episodes came this week and they did not order anymore, which seems to indicate it is toast. Sadly it appears “Bionic Woman” may suffer the same fate. NBC did order more episodes of “Chuck” and “Life.”

Over on ABC, “Big Shots” has three more episodes left to air, but ABC has pulled it. They will show “Private Practice” reruns in its place. Some reports are saying “Big Shots” is over, others are indicating ABC may air those final three episodes in January . . . but the show might then wrap up and may not be renewed.

Writers Strike: A Chance To Cacth Up?

One good thing, maybe the only good thing, I guess I can say for the writers strike coming up, I’ll get a chance to catch up on a lot of shows I’ve fallen behind with! I’ve all but stopped watching “Journeyman” on NBC because “Weeds” plays at the same time. I finally got back into “Weeds” after I felt the first half of the season sucked. It wasn’t that I didn’t like “Journeyman,” it just didn’t seem to be making much progress. Every episode focused on a new story, but the overall story was moving slowwwwwww.

I’m still watching “Bionic Woman” on Wednesdays, but my issue with it lately has been the same with “Journeyman.” They’ve taken it in the direction that every episode is a new case, but the overall story isn’t moving anywhere. We were told Jaime would die in about 5 years and possibly suffer the same fate as her nemesis Sarah, but that hasn’t been hardly mentioned since. Don’t get me started on the fact that the entire Sarah and Andros story has suddenly just vanished!

Finally I really want to watch “Samantha Who,” but haven’t been able to as too much is on at the same time! I’m hoping when the reruns start if they aren’t showing these over again, I’ll be able to catch-up online.

Dan travels back in time and begins tracking an ex-army ranger who hijacked a huge sum of money for a good cause. On the home front, Katie (Gretchen Egolf) answers questions from the police after a robbery happens the night of her gala. Meanwhile, Dan entices Hugh (Brian Howe) with the prospect of getting a big break on a war story. Reed Diamond also stars.

“JOURNEYMAN” -”KEEPERS”
October 29th, 10pm – BROTHER TROUBLES-SPECIAL HALLOWEEN EPISODE– Dan’s (Kevin McKidd) latest journey sends him to help two brothers scarred by their father’s abuse. Jack (Reed Diamond) begins to suspect that Dan has fallen back into his old gambling habits. During a trip to the past, Dan and Livia (Moon Bloodgood) overhear an intimate conversation between Jack (Reed Diamond) and Katie (Gretchen Egolf). October 24th, 9pm – BACHELORS OF LOVE – - JORDAN BRIDGES GUEST-STARS – - Jaime (Michelle Ryan) finally gets to experience college when she goes undercover as a British transfer student to investigate a professor who is possibly selling neural implants to terrorists. However, her assignment becomes complicated when she unexpectedly falls for Tom, the teacher’s assistant (guest star Jordan Bridges, “Conviction” ), who has been flagged as a suspect. November 7th, 9pm – ARE YOU ON THE LIST? – - JORDAN BRIDGES GUEST-STARS — The Berkut Group has to team up with the CIA to catch a dangerous man who is selling a list naming the Berkut Group and CIA operatives. When Jaime (Michelle Ryan) and Tom (guest star Jordan Bridges, “Conviction”) are partnered on the mission in Paris, they find themselves in the city of love, competing and flirting with each other, while still trying to maintain a professional relationship. I finally got around to watching this pilot. I’ll replace this with a write-up ASAP. The premise is a little different than the commercials though, but very good. The main character bascially suddenly for some unknown reason starts traveling back through time, but he doesn’t know why. It’s NOT to save his dead ex girlfriend, which the commercials lead you to believe. Something bigger is going on. In the first episode he sees his dead ex, but his journeys in the pilot episode actually revolve around a man whose life he saves in his first trip back. Everytime he finds himself going back, it revolves around this man’s life. You can see the set-up for the rest of the season here, journeys to save people or change things in the past. If you want a huge spoiler, make the jump.

Whatever is going on with the main character is part of a bigger plot. The dead ex girlfriend, who supposedly died in a plane crash . . . isn’t dead! She’s a journeyman too! He meets up with her, but she only offers him slight clues as to what is going on and then vanishes herself.
