Medium Season Finale

Medium Season Finale

Posted by Dustin on 05.17.2007 at 8:03 pm

Okay I have typed this almost 24 hours after the show, so I’m forgetting a lot here! Anyways last night was the season finale of Medium. I enjoyed the twist regarding the re-capatator case. We found out Jason Priestley’s character did in fact kill his wife! Then his girlfriend partner killed the other woman and planted the wife’s head, while Jason was in prison, in order to have him declared innocent. Alison figured it all out through her dreams, but because her secret was outed by Debra (Neve Campbell), nobody wanted to hear from her.

Manuel, the DA, ended up being forced out as his old friend took over DA temporarily. This was the man Alison dreamed took his job! Manuel headed off on a “fishing trip” while Lee was nasty nasty to Alison! I love that these people would call her at 3am when they needed her help, now they want nothing to do with her as she’s the “nut” from the paper. Jerks! Lee at least turned around, listened too her, and in the end Alison saved the day. Too bad Debra didn’t listen to her, as Jason’s character killed her. Fortunately she taped everything, and that was the proof Alison found to prove not only was Jason and his partner the killers, but she was right all along. The show ended with her storming the new DA’s press conference to reveal this.

What we don’t know is A) Will Manuel be back next season or not and B) How will her secret coming out affect things? Will people assume it was the ramblings of a lunatic reporter, or will she admit who she is and what she does and continue to work with the DA?

The other story of the night was Joe trying to figure out what to do about work. Because Alison had been exposed in the papers, the lawyer who wanted to represent him dropped him. Feeling he had no choice but to accept the settlement, Joe tried to go back to work . . . only to find out wasn’t welcomed back anymore! Joe now has no choice but to sue his former company.

Medium - Howie and Allison

Once again it was a very different “Medium.” For starters, there were a lot less dreams in this one, the show was more focused on Allison trying to convince Debra she was the next on the “recapitators” list. It did feature the very humorous “Deal or No Deal” dream which served to warn Allison not to trust Debra, but she didn’t seem to get the meaning of the dream.

Allison tried to warn Debra, but Debra pushed for proof she was next on the list. Allison then spilled everything to Debra to warn her she was next, including all about her visions and dreams. Dumb dumb dumb! If Debra didn’t believe “they got a tip” then Allison should have left it at “you’ve been warned.” Debra turned out to be a reporter and threatened to turn in a story exposing Alison. She is obviously working for the guy Allison dreamed about that took over as DA. I was so furious when Debra stood there telling Allison she was a mental case and needed help. I was thinking “Let her die Allison!” Allison of course looks crazy as Debra wasn’t the next on the list, another woman was kileld as the episode came to an end.

Joe made steps to getting better and returning to work, only to find his work wanted to buy him out of suing them, and if he didn’t accept their offer or sign their papers then he would be fired. What what what! Time to find that lawyer and sue sue sue! Meanwhile they completely seemed to drop the whole text message relationship with the pregnant co-worker. What was up with that? I wanted some kind of resolution and we didn’t get any.

NBC released a statement yesterday (somehow I missed it) that “Medium” has been picked up for a forth season!

“‘Medium’ is a quality show with an outstanding star that has always delivered a very loyal audience,” said Reilly. “We are pleased to know that we can look forward to more of its unique storytelling next year under executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron’s superb creative vision.”

Medium: Off With Their Heads!

Medium: Off With Their Heads!

So this week’s “Medium” was so good! Where to start? First off, I’m doing this the day after the show, so I’ve totally forgot the character’s names that are guest starring :)

So from the start we knew Jason’s character was set up for cutting his wife’s head off, but why did Alison take all night to realize it? We saw from the get go, her first dream, that he didn’t do it! Later she said that the victim has sent her dreams thinking her husband had done it, when he didn’t do it.

Jason was convicted, but later they found his wife’s missing head on top of someone else’s decapitated body. GROSS! Probably one of the creepiest scenes ever on “Medium.” Alison later had a dream that her new friend would be the next victim. Obviously Jason will be released as he’s innocent . . . or is he? Why do I feel he still may be involved, like paid someone to do this?

Alison also made a new friend in Neve Campbell’s character this week. I knew from the beginning she was going to turn on Alison. Next week the previews show she’s a reporter who snitches about Alison’s powers and gets her into trouble. Real nice given Alison tries to warn her she’ll be killed.

Finally something is going on between Joe and the woman from work. She had her baby and has been text messaging Joe like crazy. Are they just bonded over the tragedy that happen? Could it be leading to more? Alison finally caught on near the end of the episode and was furious with Joe. Rightly so! Joe also has been skipping therapy and now some lawyer wants to help him sue his company. I really hope they won’t make Joe cheat on Alison. First Lynette on “DH” now Joe? What’s the world coming to!

So tonight’s episode of Medium was just okay. I don’t know, the past few episodes haven’t been as fun for me. I mean a lot of this episode seemed to be taken up by Ariel whining about wanting to go to rich girls camp with her friend. No, you aren’t going, it costs too much, SHUT UP!

I have a feeling a lot of Joe’s story may have been cut out. They prefaced the show with a comment about the VA Tech shootings and how there were scenes they did not show out of respect. I did think that was very considerate of them.

Alison’s mystery though fell flat with me this week. I just didn’t seem to connect with it this week like I have in the past. Her dreams were, well boring! Not one of the better episodes.

I am looking forward to the next three episodes, which deal with the coming of Jason Priestley’s character as well as Neve Campbell as Alison’s new friend. I get the feeling Neve is going to be some tabloid rat that will expose Alison. By the end of this season Alison is said to be under fire for her “work” at the DA’s office.

I’m not really sure how I felt about tonight’s episode. Last week was so good, tonight’s not so much. I guess I didn’t really like that Alison’s brother kinda took over as the focus. I also did not like the father/victim at all, he was an ass so I couldn’t really have much sympathy for him. The only likable person in that family was the poor mom.

I did however love the story with Bridgette and Joe. Her mean math teacher broke her daddy’s window and she wanted her to go to jail. She should have! I also liked that it was Joe who figured out her dream, not Alison. That was a good twist.
