Pretty Little Liars Summer Finale: World War A? E?
So tonight was the big “Pretty Little Liars” summer finale. It claimed to be the biggest reveal yet. It was, but it wasn’t. Rather than go over all that happened, I’m just skipping to the very end where it ALL went down!
The girls located “A’s” apparent headquarters in Ravenswood. There they found a timeline on a wall, involving them and Alison, before and after her death. Not only has “A” been watching them, but also Redcoat, who they too believe is Alison. The girls believe, it seems, that “A” may be the older man that Alison was dating, became afraid of, and who may have killed her?
They then ran into The Grimwald outside of the headquarters, who talked to them. There was a huge costume ball going on in Ravenswood, and “A” was hoping to lure Alison out during it. She told them long ago that Alison came to her for help because she can see the future. She knew it was bad, Alison was afraid of the man she was dating and she was right to be. After Alison was buried, Grimwald said she found her digging her way out of her grave in her backyard. She was alive! She took Alison to the hospital, but when she left her in the car to go get a doctor, Alison was later gone!
Grimwald told her girls that “he/A” was here, that he was hoping the four of them would lead him to Alison, who didn’t want to be found. She begged them to leave, that Alison has stayed hidden for a reason. The girls of course decided to crash the big party that night. As the girls planned to crash the party, we saw Ezra in “A’s” headquarters in an “Team A” outfit looking pissed!
This is the big lead-in into “Ravenswood.” Both “Pretty Little Liars” and “Ravenswood” will have a two hour joint special on October 22nd. It’s the PLL Halloween special which leads into the start of the “Ravenswood” series.
So the big reveals were that . . . . 1) Alison was alive (at least for a little while). 2) If Alison lived, then who was in the grave? 3) Ezra is the bad guy/”A”?
I think, based on the previews we saw for October 22nd, we can assume #3 is a red herring. I think he followed the girls, that was all. In the headquarters we saw a photo of someone in a World War I/II type of infantry outfit with a gas mask. It looks like that is what “A” wears to the party, and it looks like the girls run into him with Ezra by their side (still in the “Team A” outfit).
So who is the older man? Wren? He’s the only one left alive, unless it’s Alison’s half-brother. Ew I hope she wasn’t involved with him! Yuck! I’m so lost! I need to get the rest of these books read!
Pretty Little Liars and Twisted: Heading Into The Finales . . .
Next tuesday is the summer finales of “Pretty Little Liars” and “Twisted.” I didn’t blog about these shows last week, so this is just some random thoughts about both.
On “Pretty Little Liars,” Hannah’s mom lost Specener’s mom as her lawyer, thanks to A’s scheming and making it look like Spencer’s mom had done something bad. It’s not looking good at all for Ashley. However in the latest episode a witness Hannah met at a school barn dance had information that could clear her mom. It seems he was paid not to come forward, but she convinced him to by the end of the episode. He said that Hannah’s mom left the scene before he saw another girl show up, that’s when he heard shots fired. Hmmmmmm, it could be anyone as Wilden had a lot of enemies. However it’s likely A of course.
A shoe was planted in Emily’s damaged house by A, which of course the cops found. It seems to match prints at the shooting scene. So now A is trying to frame Emily or her mom? I’m so confused!
Emily moved into Ali’s old room (awkward!). She later discovered someone had been living in the crawl space under the house and had poked holes in the floor to peep on someone. The girls all suspected CiCi, who they think has a vendetta against them thanks to Ali getting her kicked out of college.
Alison’s mom told Emily that CiCi and Alison had an unhealthy relationship where they seemed to take on the personality of the other at times. Hmmmmmmm. Has CiCi snapped? Does she think she really is Ali?
The girls all seem to be convinced CiCi is redcoat, but it would seem it’s not that easy. By the end of the episode we saw a girl with long blond hair in an A-team hoodie listening at Ezra’s door as Ezra told Aria that he found out his son isn’t his son. Basically his baby mama lied so that Ezra’s mom would pay her to go away. We eventually saw that the girl was CiCi! However we then saw someone else, the real A perhaps, making a doll of CiCi and adding it to their collection of liar dolls. So I assume CiCi is not redcoat, nor working for them? Is she on A’s hit list too?
The previews for next week’s episode looked amazing. I just hope we get a fricken pay-off! Oh and I hope we find out who that mysterious woman in black from the opener/funeral is.
“Twisted” this week was simply a recap of the first 10 episodes before the finale. Danny ended up getting expelled when the poisoning scandal from the soccer team came to light. A hearing to save him from expulsion got heated, with Jo confessing her feelings for Danny publicly, and Danny’s mom telling Regina’s mom exactly what kind of girl her daughter was! That was pretty awesome.
The big twists were that some jealous nerd girl sent the video of Danny and Lacey to everyone in the school. Also the mayor hired a PI to help the Sheriff catch Regina’s killer, and the PI seems dead set on proving Danny did it. I’ve always been suspicious of the mayor and his wanting Danny to be arrested for the murder. I think he knows who really did it and is covering, unless he himself did it.
Spoilers for the last two episodes of the season below!

ABC Fams Tuesday Line-Up Thoughts + SPOILERS
So we are getting pretty close to the summer finales of both “Twisted” and “Pretty Little Liars”
“Pretty Little Liars” has been fairly slow as of late, but this episode got a bit exciting with the return of Jenna, who seems to be losing her eyesight? I guess the operation failed to work for her. Before we get there, Mona confessed to Wilden’s murder and of course Spencer’s mom took her case . . . she must be the only lawyer in town. This lead Hannah’s mom to get out on bail, paid by the church pastor, but she was confined to her house with an ankle bracelet. Probably not good, A is guaranteed to come after her now that she’s trapped in her house. Spencer’s mom meanwhile realized Mona’s account of what happened with Wilden’s shooting doesn’t match up with the facts, so it doesn’t look like Mona did it either . . .
Paige and Emily broke up, but not before Paige threw her an insane party which Shauna and Jenna showed up at together (what what what?). Jenna ended up being pushed into the water and almost died . . . almost. Emily saved her, and Spencer asked Shauna who they are afraid of, Alison? Shauna said Alison was dead, and it’s CeCe they are afraid of. So is CeCe the blonde who is in the Red Coat? I don’t think so, I think it’s the figure from the later books. I won’t spoil it, though my guess is most people have gotten impatient and turned to google and know exactly who it is. I think Shauna finally did put to rest any speculation about Alison still being alive . . . but HOW is she so sure Alison is dead?
By the end of the episode Red Coat was trespassing into a house and leaving something on a piano for Toby. I’m assuming it’s Toby and Jenna’s old house?
There was a bunch of Aria and her new guy, who seem to be dating now; and Ezra suing for custody of his kid . . . I’m really over that whole love story/triangle/whatever you wanna call it.
What ever happened with Alison’s mom moving back home? We never see her anymore. Nor have we seen anything about that mystery woman in black who was at Wilden’s funeral.
Over on “Twisted” everyone’s secrets finally came out. Karen had confessed to killing Regina, but everyone knew she didn’t do it and only did it to save Danny. We finally found out that Danny was given Regina’s necklace after her murder, someone planted it in his locker so he looked like the killer. When he confessed to Jo and Lacey, they were furious he lied to them and Lacey didn’t trust him at all. Jo pretty much figured it out about Lacey and Danny, and Lacey found out her dad likes dudes. Jo’s dad finally did some police work and learned the necklace looks a lot like some bizarre logo on the Desai house . . . once again everything seems to point to Danny’s supposedly dead dad, who probably isn’t dead at all. By the end of the episode Jo’s friend Rico got a video sent to him from someone who taped Danny and Lacey making out in her room . . . That kid is bad news!

Confession Tuesday: Little Liars and Twisted Twists!
So on both “Twisted” and “Pretty Little Liars,” the main twists at the end were two confessions to murders by people we are probably safe to assume didn’t actually commit them . . .
On “Liars” Hannah decided the only way to free her mom was for her to confess to the murder of Wilden. She asked Mona to train her to lie to the cops. Much of the episode was spent with Mona instructing Hannah how to do so . . or was it the other way around? At the very end Mona shocked all by confessing to the murder! Why? Is she nuts again? Does she have a plan? Or has she double-crossed the girls again and is still following A’s orders?
Spencer meanwhile learned Wilden made up a bogus report about Toby’s mom’s death/suicide . . . meaning someone could have wanted Wilden killed to keep his mouth shut. Spencer’s mom, when confronted about all this, seemed to really want Spencer to drop it and just help Toby move on. Yeah she knows something!
Over to “Twisted,” Lacey and Danny have a hidden secret relationship that Lacey wants to keep from Jo. Jo still has a crush on Danny and wants to come clean, but also seemingly liked this new guy Tyler. Poor Rico still likes Jo though! Danny meanwhile confronted his mother with the idea that his dad was a cheater, and may have been cheating with Regina. His mom was horrified at that idea . . .
Jo’s new friend Tyler got twisted himself in this episode. He’s filming a documentary and seemed to keep setting Danny and his mom up with gross jokes to film. Their yard was basically tee-peed with red jump ropes, and at a party all these guys wore Danny masks as one pretended to strangle someone with a red jump rope, while Tyler filmed of course.
By the end of the show Danny’s mom, who was told about the necklace they recovered from the lake and her being seen throwing something into the lake, ended up confessing to killing Regina. Did she do it? Doubtful! I think she’s trying to protect Danny. I think this goes back to Tara’s murder somehow . . . she felt she didn’t protect him then perhaps?
“Twisted” has been picked up for more episodes, slated to return in January with “The Fosters” after both have their upcoming summer finales. “Pretty Little Liars” will have another Halloween episode (which will launch the “Ravenwood” spinoff) and also return in the winter after its summer finale.
Twisted Little Liars: Masks and Necklaces!
So on “Pretty Little Liars” the girls’ families continue to be targeted. Oh wait, all except Spencer’s family . . . I still find that odd, and I don’t know why the other girls don’t either? In this episode Mike got framed for destroying Curtis’ car, the jerk that told lies about Aria around school and what she’s willing to do with any guy.
Emily stole Wilden’s apartment key from evidence so they could search his house to find anything to help Hannah’s mom. They just found more evidence he was being paid by A and was on the A team, also that he started the fire that almost killed them all. This royally pissed off A, getting Emily’s mom put on unpaid suspension until the missing evidence/key surfaces. At the end of the show A rigged a car to drive through Emily’s living room window almost killing her mom. Hopefully the two new State Police Cops will realize the girls and their families are being targeted, maybe even helping Hannah’s mom who remains in jail as the main suspect in Wilden’s murder.
Caleb and Toby made headway tracking down a plane A has used to come and go to places, but all ended up in dead ends. I can’t help but remember the pilot Allison befriended to fly her to and from places as Vivian Heartwood. . . Oh and they learned that CiCi Drake was on the plane last, but the guy she paid off to file a fake flight plan didn’t know where it was really going to . . . CiCi, Shaunna, Jenna . . . looks like they are all apart of A team somehow.
The show continues to hint that Red Coat is Allison, or someone who looks a lot like her . . . I hope they hurry up and give us a big reveal before the summer is over! It’s been awhile since we had a good payoff on this show. The last one was Mona . . .
Oh and A keeps sneaking around in more of those creepy masks, the latest looked like Emily . . .
On “Twisted” I still feel like the show is moving at a snail’s pace. By the end of this week’s episode they found Aunt Tara’s necklace in the lake, where the guy Ricco that has the crush on Jo told them to look after seeing Danny’s mom throw something in the lake . . . which was so dumb!
Danny and the girls have figured out that there is some connection between Regina, Aunt Tara and Danny’s dead dad. They just don’t know what. Maybe his dad is not dead?
Jo ended up with a crush on Danny, but Danny and Lacey like one another. Lacey even dumped her boyfriend for Danny, but they have to keep things on the DL because she’s afraid of losing her popular status.
Someone poisoned Danny’s friend on the team, and of course the coaches immediately suspected Danny. He was kicked off the team, but they promised not to tell anyone as they thought he was a good kid and didn’t need anymore trouble. Someone is clearly going to a lot of trouble to frame Danny for all these crimes.
Jo and Lacey tried to get Danny to tell them why he killed Tara. He won’t say, only that he was protecting Jo? Something tells me Jo’s mom may be involved somehow. She seems to be the only adult that gives him the benefit of the doubt, possibly because of a guilty conscious? I doubt her dad killed Tara because he seems to be looking so hard for evidence against Danny.
Pretty Little Liars: A Meets The Parents!
On the latest episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” A has been targeting the girls parents. Emily’s parents have been reported for child endangerment, Aria’s mom got attacked by bees via a nest placed in her car, and now Hannah’s mom has been arrested for Wilden’s murder and Hannah’s in trouble for hiding evidence!
Did Hannah’s mom kill Wilden? She swore at the end she was innocent, that she didn’t know how the gun got into her closet where Hannah found it, nor how her fingerprints ended up on the bullets. The gun was Hannah’s father, and he noticed it was missing after they had a talk one night . . . . It sure looks like she’s guilty, but with A anything is possible.
A jerk at school spread lies about sleeping with Aria, and later someone in A garb smashed up his car. It looks like next week Aria’s little brother gets blamed for it. Again, did he do it, or is this more of A’s games? He did say he would take care of the jerk . . .
Emily and Aria both had a brilliant idea during this episode, they told Hannah it might be time to tell her parents about A. Ya think? At this point I think that would be a brilliant idea!
Mona returned and exposed Spencer for knowing that Toby took her camper. This caused some mistrust among them. I would gather the fact that Spencer’s family has yet to be targeted by A and their games will eventually have the girls once again wondering about Spencer, her family and how connected to A they are . . .
Spoilers for the next three episodes ahead!

Twisted Little Liars Thoughts and Spoilers . . .
So just some quick thoughts on this past week’s “Liars” and “Twisted,” along with some spoilers.
A continues to target the girls parents, while the two new State Troopers are closing in on the girls and wondering why murder seems to surround them. Hannah’s mom is looking more and more guilty of Wilden’s murder, though obviously it’s a red herring and we know A or someone on her team did it. By the end of the episode it looked like it could be Melissa after a confrontation with Spencer. Melissa said everything she had done had been to protect Spencer! This whole time she was trying to protect Spencer. Spencer wonders if Melissa saw “Red Hood” and if she for some reason thinks Alison is still alive? Is that who she is afraid of? Meanwhile Toby learned his mother may have died because of something she too found out while in the asylum. Everything seems to be leading up to a big twist in the books, which I’ll post a bit about below with the spoilers.
Over to “Twisted,” I’m still enjoying this show, but find it is moving EVER so slowly. Why did the dead girl Regina have Aunt Tara’s necklace? What is it about that necklace that’s so important. Are we even sure Danny killed her at this point, or is he covering for someone else? I hope things pick up!
Spoilers and spoiler discussion below!

Pretty Little Liars: Immortality Bitches!
So I felt the last two episodes of “PLL” were a little lackluster. A- is now targeting the liars moms rather than them, which obviously takes things up a level. Hannah’s mom seems to be the main suspect in Detective Wilden’s murder, while Emily’s mom is now being investigated for possible child endangerment (Emily’s bruises and taking her mom’s meds). Aria’s mom at least left on a trip to Europe with her new boyfriend, and Spencer’s mom has yet to be targeted in any way (I’m sure it’s coming). At this point I find myself screaming “just tell the truth!” but then we wouldn’t have a show would we?
Spencer’s sister Melissa returned from her “Army Wives” vacation. She did her best to convince Melissa, who didn’t get into U of Penn, they should both just leave town. Sounds pretty guilty! Melissa also seems to have a way with cops, she’s made herself very friendly with the State Trooper investigating Wilden’s death.
Toby and Spencer visited the sanitarium seeking more answers about his mom’s supposed suicide. All the evidence basically has been pointing to the fact that his mom did not kill herself. She had every reason to get better, her sessions were going good, and bars and grates on the windows of her room made it seem impossible for her to kill herself . . . . so now Toby’s own mother is a part of the mix.
The biggest revelation of the past two episodes where the girls finding a mask in Mona’s “A” stash that they recognized from the Halloween Train. When they pealed the plaster and paint away, the mask was actually a mold of Alison’s face. Why would she do this? Emily said “Immortality Bitches!” They tracked down the maker who said Allison made the masks for her friends to have, but then requested the mold be broken. They were stunned to find another family mask at his shop . . . one that looked like Melissa!
At this point I just feel a little lost with all the pokers in the fire and cooks in the kitchen. I hope they start to bring these storylines together at some point. Oh and I really just need to finish the dang books too because they are dragging this out forever . . . though I know they’ve already strayed from the books.
Spoilers for July’s episodes below . . . .

Pretty Little Liars Summer Premier: Five Little Liars?
So the summer premier of “Pretty Little Liars” picked up where the winter finale left off, with the girls all standing in front of Wilden’s cop car and opening the trunk. Inside was a dead pig, clearly a clue. On the car’s computer was the video of Hannah’s mom hitting Wilden. Mona risked all to steal the hard drive, almost getting herself caught. At the time they thought they got away with this, but by the end of the episode A- sent them all a text with a video of them and Mona at the car stealing the hard drive! The next morning, Wilden’s dead body was found by the car. It of course was not their the night before.
Mona attempts to make peace with the liars, mainly because she’s now in their shoes. She’s being blackmailed by A- now too, but the other girls aren’t yet sure if they can really trust her. Frankly, neither am I. It could all be another game of hers. Mona tries to make amends by answering all their questions. She tells them everything she knows. She also offers to give them all her evidence. She explains that she didn’t kill Ian in the bell tower, or try and kill Jason at the elevator, she doesn’t know who did. She says Lucas did a lot under her blackmail, like give Emily her massage. She also says Wilden and Melissa were the ones on the train who put Aria in the coffin and drugged her. She goes to show them a video of Melissa and Wilden, but then her computer crashes and someone deletes it all remotely! Hmmm, where the heck is Hannah’s boyfriend right about now?
The only evidence Mona has left is in her camper. The girls thus decide hide it, but later A- blackmails Toby into stealing it. We find out something was wrong with his mother, she apparently had depression from flashbacks we see. A- promised to tell Toby what really happened to his mom if he brings her/him/them the camper. He of course does. So now we have yet another mystery from the past? Was Toby’s mom killed? Did she kill herself? So confused!
Jenna came to see Emily, she was afraid for her life as she saw Alison the day she died and one by one all of those people who did are dying. Emily then notices Jenna’s hand, which she’s hiding, is burned . . . Did Jenna start the fire?
Wilden’s funeral is held and the liars all attend. Alison’s mom is there, and she’s planning to move back to Rosewood. She seems a little bit cray-cray, but she fuels Hannah’s belief that Alison could still be alive and Redcoat. The other liars don’t think this is possible. So now do we add Alison’s mom as a possible candidate for A-? Not so fast, cause also at the funeral is a creepy lady in black veil . . .
Spencer and Mona get texts from A- about a surprise in Wilden’s coffin. They search it and find a phone inside, which ends up being Hannah’s mom’s phone. Hannah worries this means her mom is A-’s next target. Mona promises her that nobody will hurt Miss M! Hmmm, again do we believe Mona? Has she changed? Time will tell.
The girls are confronted at the end by a new cop, someone from the State Police investigating Wilden’s death. He says Wilden had files on all of them which bordered on obsession. They say he has that right. He swears to get to the truth . . . A- then texts them “The truth won’t set you free!” As the credits roll we see the mysterious black veiled woman playing with the dolls of the liars, and a new one of Mona is added to the bunch. This woman was at the funeral too, and the girls wondered who she was. She lifts her veil to reveal a china mask which is burned on the side. Is this a clue that this is who set the fire last season, or was she burned in a previous fire? Maybe the one that blinded Jenna?

Pretty Little Liars: Red’s Reveal And Still Alive . . .
I’m gunna have to rewatch last night’s winter finale of “Pretty Little Liars,” as I know I missed a lot, and I was really confused! Then again, this whole season has been confusing.
Toby who was dead, then wasn’t dead, then was dead, is now not dead again. We learned Spencer is the one who posed as Alison and took Marcus (Ezra’s kid) from school, only to lure Mona in and find out what she was up to. She was trying to convince Mona she had joined the -A team. That led her to Toby, who swore he was really on their side. He said he joined Mona and the -A team for the same reason she did, to find out what was going on.
Spencer meanwhile acting as -A sends Hannah and the other girls clues so they think she’s turned to the dark side, but really it’s to lure them to her so they can try and take down Mona together and find out who -A/Red Coat is.
Spencer’s family throws her a party, and she uses it to try and lure the mastermind out. Meanwhile Jenna finally returns, and it seems her surgery is failing and she’s losing her vision. She is plotting (?) with Paige’s ex Shana, the girl who Alison got kicked out of college I believe, and Melissa (?) Oh brother! They must have been involved with that ATM club of guys, or whatever they were called.
-A/Red Coat masterminds her/his own plan to basically cook everyone up in a housefire at Spencer’s party. Toby flip flops sides again, so we don’t really know whose side he’s on as the fire starts. The house is set a blaze, with Mona flipping out. She didn’t know who Red Coat was either, she was trying to find out too! Unfortunately the fire burns up the evidence she’d collected it seems. The girls all manage to escape, Mona is now on -A’s S-list with the others, but they get a glimpse of Allison in a window and running away! They know it wasn’t a ghost. They all saw Allison. They are all in agreement.
The end of the show has the girls finding that damn cop car of Wilden’s, with a laptop showing it was Jenna and Shana that saved Wilden after Hannah’s mom ran him down. They also open the car trunk, and screaming at what is inside . . .
First, I guess someone is dead in the trunk? Great, more explaining for them to do to the cops! I think it’s time to come clean!
Second, on Allison being spotted . . . All season long, and even last season, they’ve dropped so many hints that the “ghost” of Allison the girls keep running into is anything but a ghost. They have talked about how real she is, and she’s always pointing them in the direction of clues. I can’t figure this out. The ghost is helping them, but the Red Coat version is against them?
BOOK SPOILER! . . .
I’ve still not finished the books, and they’ve deviated a lot from them them already. Who knows what they will do. However it comes out that Allison had a twin sister (this is some “Days of Our Lives” shiz going on here). So I don’t know if Allison is the good ghost and the sister is -A, or if Allison is alive and the sister was killed in her place . . . .
