Private Practice Season Finale: And The Unlucky One Is …..
Posted by Dustin on 05.13.2010 at 11:01 pm
Spoilers in here if you are not on the East Coast!
No big shock, Dell died from brain injuries received in the accident. Betsy will be going to live with an Aunt.
Not only is Dell a goner, but William left to basically go die at his daughter’s home, telling Fife who had to tell Naomi.
Naomi forgave Addison for the Sam thing, even giving them her blessing. It seems this was all she needed to tell Pete that she knew he wanted Violet, and because Violet held it together through the whole show she felt Violet was ready to be a mom and be with him.
Okay so which I am glad Pete is back with Violet, I can’t stand that it basically seemed the minute Naomi gave Addison permission to see Sam, she dumped Pete for Sam. Bleck and boo! Then she complained to Sheldon that just like him, she also felt she was always second choice. What what what!
Cooper proposed to Charlotte, who said yes. But after the day and Dell he took the ring back and said they would do this again tomorrow, this isn’t how they should remember this day.
So am I shocked? No, Dell was a logical choice. I do think they killed him for drama, they could have just written him out for med school. Personally I think they should have done that, then they could bring him back later on if they needed to. Various reports thought said the actor wanted to go.
Thursday Night Dramas: Christina Grows A Heart and A Terrible Accident

Grey’s Anatomy
So the main medical story dealt with a 700 pound man, who Bailey was in charge of. Throughout the show she threw basically everyone off the case for being insensitive in one way shape or form. The best part of the show was when his wife, who was thin and hot (of course to the shock of Alex, he’s off the case!) revealed she was pregnant. Lexie immediately blurts out “How? . . . I mean WOW that’s great!” Bailey looks at her and mouths behind her clipboard “You’re off the case!”
Alex received divorce papers, and just like that he and Izzie are over and she’s done and gone. Meanwhile he and Lexie’s torrid affair, or whatever it is, continues. I do NOT like them together and don’t think I ever will. I loved her with McSteamy, but he was such an ass to her. I’m afraid Alex will end up doing the same.
Callie and Arizona broke up by the episodes end as well, as Arizona wouldn’t stick around and be the reason Callie never had the baby she wanted. HATE this storyline too. Why does Grey’s feel the need to make their couples so unhappy?
Derek had to contend with a lawsuit brought on by the husband of the wife he ordered removed from life support a few weeks back. Derek of course felt guilty, but the hospital lawyer said to him there was no case, the woman had an advanced directive, he did what was he had to by law. She said the husband just needed to vent and yell at him, it would be over. Uh-huh . . . . why do I feel this is FAR from over and will lead to the reinstatement of Chief as Chief?
Derek and Meredith found themselves at odds yet again, this time over Christina and Owen. Meredith knew Owen still had feelings for Teddy and wanted to warn Christina, but Derek wanted her to stay out of it. Again, not liking this story! I don’t like that they are really screwing Derek and Meredith. Apparently Shonda herself (I believe via Ausiello) has come out saying next season she will return MerDer to their happy state, even having Derek finally building Meredith her house on the hill (promised a few seasons back). So it looks like something will happen to keep them happy. I have a feeling the post-it marriage could become real because of the husband’s lawsuit threats.
Finally Christina had probably the best story of the show. She, after being the first kicked off Bailey’s case, sat for a little girl whose mother was in heart surgery. We finally saw that Christina actually has a heart as she helped this little girl deal with the possibility her mom might die. In the end she ran to Owen, breaking down, as the whole ordeal reminded her of losing her own father at a young age.
Private Practice
This show I felt was very much about forgiveness.
First up, the best scene of the show was Violet asking Pete to forgive her. She said she should have leaned on him, but she didn’t, she is the one that helps people but didn’t know how to help herself. Loved the whole scene, and Pete forgiving her. He even said she could have Lucas for nights at first to see how things work out. I think the scene showed Pete still loved her, and I think Addison is in big trouble! Addison meanwhile it seemed tried to make inroads with Sam on a case they worked on, but he was now distancing himself from her. Could it be the star of the show will end up losing both her guys by the season finale? I can’t say I won’t feel bad if she does!
After a talk with Violet, and a one night stand with Charlotte, Cooper decided to fight for Charlotte and tell her he wanted her back. Unfortunately Sheldon came to the same decision about Charlotte after talking to Addison. Will there be a fight between them in the finale? Looks like it!
Naomi returned with a dying William this week, who had come to terms with that. Pete confronted Fife about keeping his treatment from William in an attempt to win Naomi. In the end he went to Naomi and admitted as much to her, saying he’d help William and was doing it for her, because he loved her that much. Aw! I really want them to be together. They are such an opposites attract kinda couple. I kinda feel though William might have to die for it to happen, as I feel he’d fire Naomi if she dumped him! Though then she’d have a lawsuit on her hands, and could go back to the other practice.
Finally Maya was getting close to her due date. She had Dell as her midwife, and was beginning to reconnect with Naomi. In the end though, when she went into early labor, she asked Dell to take her to the hospital. Panicking she wanted drugs and a hospital birth, not the home natural thing! Unfortunately on the way there, someone hit them. The show ended with Dell walking into the hospital with his arm in a sling, but Maya being taken in on a stretcher.
The previews seem to indicate Maya and her baby are in danger. Will they die? The teasers kept insisting it was a major original character, so I just can’t see Maya being a major character. Original yes, major though? Dell could have internal bleeding, and there are rumors the actor wants off the show (but many others are rumored to want out too). If I hadn’t seen Cooper in the previews, I’d worry he was killed in the way he raced off to see Charlotte.
Your thoughts on who might die?

Thursday Night Medical Dramas: Babies, Heart Surgeons and a Court Case
Posted by Dustin on 05.01.2010 at 8:48 pm
So some thoughts on Thursday night’s medical dramas follow. In both cases, both shows were somewhat downers. “Private Practice” really was a heartbreaker though.
On “Grey’s,” Derek brought in a fancy schmancy heart surgeon to contend for Teddy’s job, thinking she wanted to leave and her placement here was only temporary. She however wanted to stay, but apparently neglected to tell Derek. Everyone was wetting themselves over the guy who was brought in, as he was a published academic. Teddy however was the one that had the skills and the street smarts basically. This hit home for me, being in the world of academics. People only want to hire those who have published or the fancy grants that bring in money, but sometimes these aren’t the people who have the practical knowledge and experience on the ground (or haven’t been there in a long long long time!). In the end Teddy got the job, but only because the first guy turned down Derek’s offer.
Mark, of course wanted Teddy to stay, but Owen tried to convince Derek not to worry about Teddy. Of course that was because he and Teddy had yet another close call. it’s only a matter of time before these two do it, and Christina walks in on them. They are just dragging it out till the finale at this point.
Arizona remained very anti-baby. Callie thought it was because she lost her little brother at a young age, but Arizona said she wasn’t broken, she just liked their life the way it was. In the end Callie claimed she’d be okay without a baby. Yeah right! I fear they will be left hanging in the finale as well. Callie might not have a baby, but I bet something happens where she ends up with one somehow (like someone dies and she inherits the parental responsibility).
Sloan had her baby, which she had second thoughts about giving up. Mark of course encouraged this, but in the end Arizona and even Callie made him realize it was best that Sloan give the baby up, still being a baby herself. I know it was the responsible thing to do, but I have to admit I wish Mark was able to keep the baby. Hey it’s TV, we need some non-real life once in awhile!
Meredith began to realize April was in love with her husband, which worried her. She went to have some private time with Derek as the show ended. I have a feeling there may be a McBaby in the picture very soon!
Over on “Private Practice,” the whole show centered around Violet suing Pete for shared custody of her son. Everyone and their mother was called to the stand to testify for or against Violet basically. During the show, Violet wondered if Pete was still in love with her? He claimed no, but we know better and so does Addison, who overheard. The major heartbreak came when Addison played dirty and exposed that Violet had had abortions previously. This infuriated me, especially since somehow it was magically forgotten at least one involved a rape. The second heartbreak came when Cooper ended up admitting he didn’t think Violet was ready to be a parent. In the end Pete got full custody, Violet was allowed to visit, and they could revisit this in a few months.
By the end of the episode the sides had been drawn, those who sided with Pete and those with Violet. It looks like the next episode will be major, with major internal fighting within the practice as a result of dirty little secrets that came out. Sam was unable to take the stand and rat out Addison’s faux relationship with Pete, because he loved her too much. Meanwhile Dell was also made to look like a jerk on the stand for what happened with his ex. There will be some major explosions next week, and I can’t wait!
Private Practice Season Finale Spoiler Bits . . . .
Posted by Dustin on 04.24.2010 at 11:31 pm
What follows is the spoiler release for the May 13th season finale of “Private Practice.” I’ll be out of town when it airs, grrr! I know one of you called the drama with Maya long long ago!
- This is the episode where one of the main original recurring characters bites it BTW. Given the way this reads, I’m guessing it’s not Maya or her baby – sounds like one of the staff members! (Notice Violet nor Pete are mentioned anywhere!)
“The End of a Beautiful Friendship”
Maya and her unborn baby are fighting for their lives on the operating table, and Addison, Amelia and Fife try everything humanly possible to save them. Meanwhile, Sam operates on an incoming crash victim and later makes a grim discovery; Cooper makes an ill-timed but valiant effort with Charlotte, and the staff’s world gets rocked by an unexpected death, on the Season Finale of “Private Practice,” THURSDAY, MAY 13 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Private Practice: April 22nd Spoiler
Posted by Dustin on 04.06.2010 at 3:28 pm
I guess ABC and networks are saving a lot of shows for May sweeps. There are a lot of reruns in April across the board it seems. Anyways, here is the next new “Private Practice,” not airing till April 22nd! I assume this is when there will also be a new “Grey’s,” but as of yet no release for it.
VIOLET IS BACK HOME AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO EXPECT, ESPECIALLY ADDISON, ON ABC’S “PRIVATE PRACTICE”
“Second Choices” – After her open-ended escape to Costa Rica, Violet has finally returned home and to the practice. Everyone treads a little lightly around her, especially Pete and Addison who have mixed feelings about Violet’s desire to reconnect with Lucas. Meanwhile Amelia butts into Sam’s personal life, pointing out that he can mend hearts in the OR but can’t seem to do that for himself; and Sheldon encourages Charlotte to reconcile with Cooper, while Cooper deals with a young patient who eats everything in sight, on “Private Practice,” THURSDAY, APRIL 22 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Guest cast includes Caterina Scorsone as Amelia, Brian Benben as Sheldon, Bobby Coleman as Oliver, Perrey Reeves as Kelly, Ken Wilder as Scott, Aaron Ashmore as Carl, Camille Chen as Lucia.
