Army Wives and Client List Thoughts . . . April 2013
Posted by Dustin on 04.24.2013 at 7:56 pm
These are just some of my random thoughts on both “Army Wives” and “The Client List.”
As much as I like Maggie, the other new wives are still failing to click with me and I’m really missing the friendships of the original wives. At this point Denise just seems to be stuck in stories here and there, which I think is unfortunate.
I do like Gloria and Pamela, and the conflict it brought between her and Jackie was interesting, but short lived. They made up awfully fast. I’m hoping the conflict between Hector and Patrick will be more exciting.
Brooke Shield’s joined as the Air Force captain/colonel/general/whatever and is already on Michael and Joan’s bad side with her spoiled ass behavior, doing whatever it takes to get her way. I hope they don’t plan on rushing Michael into a relationship with her character as Claudia Joy’s barely cold. However my guess is that is where this will eventually lead.
Over on “The Client List,” Reilly finally went all the way with a client as she was floundering in bills and couldn’t resist a 50,000 dollar payday. What I want to know is how she thinks she’ll be able to fly under the radar with all this spending money? The feds were watching her like a hawk, suspecting Kyle gave her money from his illegal activities. He did, but she gave it back. Now she’s got a boatload of cash that she’s spending. Shouldn’t they be questioning where this is all coming from?

“Army Wives”
The latest episode of “Army Wives” definitely brought the drama back, and began to endear me a little more to some of the newer wives.
Gloria and Hector signed their divorce papers, and Gloria moved in with Holly. Holly needed a roommate to split expenses, plus she was lonely with her husband in the field. Gloria needed a place to live until she found something more permanent. Gloria also met a new guy at The Hump, Patrick. He asked her out, but she didn’t want to rush into dating again. However Jackie pushed her, so she accepted. Little does either of them know, the guy is Jackie’s “favored son” Patrick! Oh Boy! Not only that, but he dropped the bomb on his mom that he’s enlisted and is going to be shipping out ASAP. Of course he’ll be joining the same division where Hector is, and I’m sure it won’t be long before they both realize they have photos of the same girl. Oh boy!
Once again Joan, Latasha and Maggie’s sons got themselves into trouble! Joan went a little bit overboard and berated both mothers for not being around and watching the kids, when she sends David to their house she expects supervision. Latasha let her have it later on, telling her she never expected such a blasting from a fellow army wife, a fellow sister, and from “Ask Colonel Joan” who she respected. I think this was the first time I liked her, and Joan got the memo loud and clear and later apologized. I do however want to talk about Latasha’s son . . . Deuce. Could we not come up with a better name for this kid? I’m sorry but every time I hear it, I just think of what it’s slang for . . .
The drama between Maggie, Eddie and their kids continues. Eddie’s daughter is a spoiled brat who needs to be put in her place, and Eddie feels Maggie’s son and his troubles reflect badly on him. Both kids need to just be grounded!
“The Client List”
On “The Client List” I am loving the interaction between Selena and the new male masseuse Derek. Who thought I’d ever like Selena? Derek is pretty nice to look at too!
Lacey and Dale, who have been trying to get pregnant for awhile now, got devastating news. Lacey’s eggs are the issue and they have a 10% chance of getting pregnant. Why oh why do I see them asking Riley to be a surrogate at some point?
Riley meanwhile called it quits with Evan after her daughter saw them kiss and became upset. She felt she for some insane reason owed it to her kids and to Kyle not to fully give up on him, their family and marriage. Oh brother!

The Client List Season 2 Thoughts So Far
Posted by Dustin on 03.18.2013 at 2:16 pm
So I have been enjoying season 2 of “The Client List” so far, but wonder if some stories are moving a little too fast. Kyle has returned and is in all sorts of trouble with the law. We learned he had a drug problem, he got in deep, and left because of that and to make money to pay back money he owed as well as get clean. However the work he got into was not legit, he was trafficking stolen goods, money is missing, and now he’s in jail. Reilly is working on trying to save his ass, but he’s not making it easy. The cops want him to turn evidence on the people he was working for, but he won’t for some reason. The cops think he’s hid the stolen goods with Reilly, and that she may be in on his plan.
The money did finally turn up, Kyle had someone send it to Reilly. Now she’s really involved, but wants to turn it in. He said if she did that then she’d be sending their kids dad to jail for sure. I don’t know why she doesn’t turn it in and just be done with this dip wad, who is not good for her. She’s got her own illegal activities going on, she doesn’t need to add to them!
On top of all that trouble, Reilly has gone and decided to by the struggling “Rub” from Georgia. Georgia met a man she wants to settle down with, without the lies of “The Rub” which destroyed her first marriage. I think this is the last thing Reilly needs to be doing right now when her finances are going to be watched like a hawk.
Half the girls from Season 1 quit the business after Kyle was arrested there in the season opener. They feared the truth being found out. It’s basically just Selena and Reilly now, and this week she began hiring new girls. The first was a young girl named Nikki who was struggling to pay her tuition. But can she trust all these new hires, or will they bring her down?
Somehow I don’t see Reilly managing to buy “The Rub.” I think Georgia will end up back there sooner or later.

Drop Dead Diva and Client List: Pakes and Kisses!
Posted by Dustin on 06.12.2012 at 2:56 pm
Quick thoughts on both shows . . .
Drop Dead Diva
I’m still not warming up to Jane’s new guardian angel Luke. I hate that even though Grayson suspects Jane is Deb, that she still can’t tell him, and Luke is doing everything to make sure Grayson doesn’t find out. Boo! As much as I like Owen, it’s time for Jane and Grayson to hook up! I felt so bad for them both last night, and Luke was just grinning like a little devil because he kept them apart.
I have a feeling that Kim Kardashian’s character may turn out to be a con-artist. I don’t believe she’s a new addition to the show, just a temporary guest star. So she’s eventually going to leave, probably trying to take Stacy’s “Pake” business with her.
I am enjoying Parker and Kim working together again. We learned that Parker’s ex ran off with the son he just learned about, and they are no where to be found. Poor Parker! I’m guessing we’ll eventually see the return of Brandy and the boy at some point.
The Client List
Riley’s doctor date sure turned out to be a dud, and it only sent her straight into Evan’s arms. As I called it, the moment they kissed is when Kyle showed back up. That was just way too predictable. I’m shocked they brought him back so soon. Perhaps they weren’t sure of a second season initially? Things will sure get complicated now for Riley with two brothers fighting over her.
Daniel from “Ugly Betty” showed up as a city councilman with big ambitions. He was dating Deanne on the side. She’s already married, tried to break it off with him, but he wouldn’t take no and started to get rough. Georgia fired Deanne for breaking the rules and putting them all in hot water, as the councilman was threatening Georgia. When she turned to her friend on the force, there was nothing he could do. He was already in the councilman’s pocket! The councilman got him a promotion . . . and plans to teach “that woman” a lesson. I assumed he meant Georgia, but could he really mean Deanne?
Uh oh! Next week is the season finale, and it looks like things are going to get ugly all around. I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw the business being shut down by Georgia herself in order to protect everyone involved. That would like Riley in a huge pickle.
Double Diva Sundays on Lifetime!
Posted by Dustin on 06.04.2012 at 1:43 pm
So for the next few weeks, Lifetime Sundays feature “Drop Dead Diva” followed by “The Client List.” The later is wrapping up it’s freshman season, and June 24th marks the return of “Army Wives.”
First up was the return of “Diva,” not only to our TV, but from her whirlwind European tour with her new boyfriend Owen. She was brought back to help the firm, as they were in a financial bind and an old and very rich friend wanted to hire Jane/the firm to defend her in a murder trial. Long story short, her friend and her husband (Played by Roark Critchlow – Mike on “Days”) pulled one over on Jane and the firm, and basically got away with murder.
Grayson was on the trail of the truth, after Stacy told him at the end of last season that Jane was Deb. However she’s tried to take it back and explain that Deb was her best friend, Jane is now, and it’s like they are the same. Grayson eventually learned that Deb and Jane died the same day, at the same hospital . . . only Jane came back.
Stacy and Jane both got some pretty bad news. Fred is leaving! Actually . . . he left. He said goodbye to Jane and to Stacy, telling Stacy that when he left all his memories of her would go to. By the end of the episode Luke became Jane’s new guardian angel. He’s also an investor in the firm, saving it from going under. He told Jane he was here to make sure that she moved forward as Jane, and that Grayson fell for her as Jane. Jane told him she may be in Jane’s body, but she will forever be Deb!
I’m glad after all these seasons, Grayson is learning the truth. But as the angel said, he needs to fall for Jane as Jane, not Deb. Sigh! I’m really bummed that Fred is gone!
Over on “The Client List,” Riley’s mom attempted to buy the salon with her help, but they still didn’t have the money. It appears Riley’s horrid nemesis outside the salon Taylor will win out.
Selena, her nemesis in the Salon, flirted with danger and brought Evan by. What started out as a way to make Riley angry is having the opposite effect as Selena is beginning to realize she likes Evan. Oh no!
The teasers have us leading up to “the moment” we’ve been waiting for, Riley and Evan’s kiss. You know the minute they kiss that her husband will resurface.
This episode drove me nuts because the wife of Riley’s latest client was someone I knew, but couldn’t figure it out. I knew that her Texas accent put on for the show was what was throwing me off. Finally by the end of the show I figured out . . . it was Esme from “Passions!”
The Client List Renewed . . . As Well As Army Wives?
Posted by Dustin on 05.08.2012 at 9:04 am
Yesterday the news broke that Lifetime had renewed its freshman drama “The Client List” staring Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Nothing was stated about “Army Wives,” so a curious fan asked Brian McNamara (Gen Holden) on Twitter. Brian replied that season 7 looks to be a go! His official response to the fan was . . . “at least 10 more eps for season 7″ via @TwoGems57
So it’s a much shorter season so far (which this one has been as well), but it looks like Army Wives Season 7 is a go!
A Smorgasbord Of Show Thoughts!
Posted by Dustin on 04.21.2012 at 7:43 pm
I have fallen so behind because of other things, so this is a giant post of quick thoughts on many shows!
On the latest “Grimm” we learned a whole lot about what is going on. The Grimm had, supposedly, been working with a class of purist “royal” monsters that the police Chief apparently seems to be a part of. While this class had traditionally been only in Europe, they’ve clearly branched out. It seems they are dedicated to not only causing problems in the world, but keeping the humans and the monsters separate. An underground revolution movement is in place, but Nick was warned in this episode a war was coming that would forever tip the balance. What we still don’t know is which side the captain is on! He seems to be playing both sides at the moment? I am hoping he is on the side of good, maybe I’m hoping too much?
On “Smash,” Ivy weaseled her way back into the play, hoping to take over from Uma Thurman’s clearly flop of a character. However by the end of the latest episode, the “star” shone! Which of course makes Ivy’s job of getting the role back a little more difficult. Just an episode ago, I thought Ivy and Karen were getting along so well. Now she’s back to being a royal diva b….. Oh and Tom got dumped by his republican boyfriend because he had gaga eyes for Ivy’s gay “straight” bff. Other thoughts . . . What is Nick’s secret? (The guy Eileen likes). And will Dev cheat on Karen with that co-worker?
I am still watching “Awake” believe it or not. At this point I’m starting to wonder . . . is this all in his head? Is he laying in a coma somewhere, the real victim of the car accident? How will this all end?
“The Client List” is only 2 episodes in, but I am liking it. I see it’s moving to a one client only focused episode, where Melinda . . . I mean, what’s her name, helps some ghost . . . I mean lonely man solve the problem haunting him.
I absolutely LOVED the disco episode of “Glee.” OMG, Unique! Unique needs to join the Glee club at McKinley high for next season. So far Unique has been the best one yet from the “Project Glee” characters.
Finally I watched the first three episodes of “The Big C” online for the season. I was shocked that Paul lived, but happy. For the first several minutes of the premier I was sure Paul was a ghost, but he’s not. He’s real. Then there is Andrea, who has changed her name to Ababoo. I love her so much! However I am getting this feeling she’s now in love with Shawn . . . not good!
