True Blood: All Things Must End
In case you haven’t been connected to the net, yesterday HBO announced that next season will be the final season for “True Blood.” As with this season, the final season is also a shortened 10 episode season.
I think the time has come, the show has run it’s course and deviated too far from the books. I just hope we get an amazing final season.
Eric’s True Blood Fate Revealed!
TV Line has an exclusive interview with the executive producer of “True Blood” who spills on whether Eric lives or dies, the upcoming Bill-Alcide-Sookie triangle and more. You can read it HERE
I am guessing the outcry from fans over that cliff-hanger was too much and they had to reveal what is ahead far earlier than planned?
True Blood Season 6 Finale Thoughts
So last night was the finale episode of Season 6 of “True Blood.” It was also a time jumping episode . . . I hate when they do that!
The first half saw the destruction of Warlow, who went totally crazy and demanded Sookie marry him and that he would turn her. This show really has a thing for just making characters go off the deep end and do 180s. I thought Warlow would stick around. Everyone gathered together to try and save Sookie from him. In the end Grandpa Niall managed to break out of the time-space-vortex that Warlow threw him into earlier in the season. He held Warlow while Jason plunged a stake into his chest. Warlow them melted into a pile of blood goop. As he died, so did the day-walking effects of his blood on the others. This would be tragic for one Eric Northman, who was sunbathing nude in Sweden when the powers went away. He stood up and burst into flames. Is he dead? Well we don’t know. This was one of the cliffhangers we were left with. My guess is it depends on whether the actor returns or not for next season. Pam had gone off looking for him, so she could still find him in time.
We then went six months into the future. Sam’s girlfriend is huge and about to pop, and Sookie is now dating Alcide who finally got a hair cut. What what what? He’s suddenly not so jerky anymore. I think they did this for the fans who have been clamoring for them to be together, before he became an ass that is. Jason is still involved with his vampire mate, who still won’t let him have sex with her. Hep-V has become a huge problem for humans and vampires alike. It’s apparently mutated and has made some vamps infected with it very strong. Sam and others proposed to the town that all humans be tested for the virus, and those that were clean should offer themselves to a vampire to feed them in return for protection. Some members of the community scoffed at this. Sam arranged a meet-n-greet at the newly named Belfluer Bar and Grill that night. Jessica offered her protection to Andy and his remaining daughter as a way to say she was sorry. Andy didn’t want it, but she said he had it nonetheless. Bill was no longer Billith and back to being himself, which meant he was back in love with Sookie. However she was with Alcide. Tara’s mom tried to make peace with Tara and offered herself up as human food to her. Tara was feeding as the show ended. I couldn’t help but worry that her mom knowingly has Hep-V and has condemned her. As the meet-n-greet went on, a gang of super Hep-V infected vamps approached . . .
That’s basically how it ended. No word on Sarah or where she is. No word on whether Eric is alive or dead. I believe we don’t even know where Grandpa Niall went after helping save Sookie. Sookie’s powers also seem to be almost gone, as she couldn’t muster enough light to kill Warlow herself.
After the show a lot of my friends on Facebook were not to happy with the finale. Were you? Leave your thoughts!
True Blood: Here Lies Teri and Blah Blah Blah
So I didn’t do a write-up of last week’s “True Blood,” and was planning to do one this week as the promo for it looked far more exciting than last week’s episode. Boy was I wrong! Don’t get me wrong, the parts at the prison were great. However most of the episode was remembering Teri at his funeral, or should I say remembering him before the whole Efreet nonsense which ruined his storyline and character. He’s dead, but will he stay that way? On this show, one can never know. We did see the return of Tara’s mom and the good reverend she married.
Eric stormed the jail, killed the humans and freed the vampires. However it was Bilith who saved all their friends in the room where they would meet the sun. Crazy Sarah Newlin, who hid under dead humans to save herself, was the one who ran to open the roof and fry them all. Sadly only one Newlin died, and it wasn’t Sarah. Eric refused to let Steve feast on Bilith to save himself. As he met the sun, looking up at his crazy ex Sarah, he screamed “I loved you . . . . Jason Stackhouse!” It was pretty funny. He burst into flames, and Jason then went after Sarah. Instead of blowing her brains out . . . he let her go! Stupid mistake. So we’ll see her again for sure.
Bilith ended up drained and three bloody women (three Liliths?) told him it was time for him to end his life on earth and come with them. He apparently did what he had to do, which was save Vampirekind. He did not want to go yet, and Jessica and her new boyfriend saved him by letting them drink some of his blood back from them. They are all daywalkers now . . . but we don’t know how long that will last yet. Is it permanent? The vamps destroyed all the tainted tru blood, and at the end Pam watched as a still heartbroken Eric zoomed off into the sky, apparently leaving her. So Eric has been written out? There have been rumors of his death this season . . . but it appears he’s just up and left.
Next week is the end of the season, and it looks like the Reverend takes up the fight against the sinful daywalking vampires and rallies humans to attack them.
True Blood: Death By Hep-V
So there are only three new episodes left this season before the finale. If you were able to tune in before the show, HBO was showing clips from the ComicCon pannel and revealed that Season 7 for “True Blood” is a go. Therefore I have a feeling they won’t kill off anyone major . . . or will they?
Eric and Nora managed to escape from the compound, but the others were left behind. Nora however was infected with Hep-V and she refused Bilith’s blood, which Eric hoped would heal her. She eventually relented to try it, but it didn’t work. Bilith felt his progeny Warlow could save her, but Bilith found that Sookie is hiding him from her/him in the Fairy World. Eric was furious when Nora died, and he wasn’t happy with Sookie. It seems Sookie is just pissing off all her former vampire lovers at this point! Poor Nora’s death was also fairly nasty, possibly the worst yet save for last season with Sam exploding out from within that council member.
Bilith warned Eric about the prophecy he saw, of him, Jessica, Pam, Tara and others burning to death in a circular room at the Vampire Compound . . . Speaking of the compound, Crazy Christian Sarah Newlin took control. She convinced the Lt. Governor not to announce the Governor’s death just yet. They’d say he was out of town and hidden for his safety, he would take care of politics and she’d run the Compound . . . just until Tru Blood with Hep-V hit the markets. Hopefully she won’t make it to the end of the season. I think it would be great if Steve turned her actually.
Pam warned others not to drink the Tru Blood they would be given, it would kill them. She then continued her bizarre relationship with the doctor who has the hots for her. Jason meanwhile was captured by Sarah and her guards and thrown into the female gen-pop as food. Uh oh! Elsewhere Jessica and the vampire guy she was supposed to have sex with last week got closer. I have a feeling both of them will be dead fairly soon. Since Andy’s kids do actually seem to be dead, save for the one, Jessica is probably a goner. I just don’t see her being able to live with herself in Bon Temps anymore. If she doesn’t die, maybe she and that guy will leave town.
Sookie and Warlow’s fairy light love fest came to an end when Sookie could hear Arlene nearby and crying. She left Warlow chained to a tree in fairy land while she went to the real world. She learned of Terry’s death, as did others. It brought many to Andy’s house to give their condolences, including Bilith. Everyone was stunned that he was day walking.
Sam learned of Terry’s death and he too wanted to go home, disobeying Alcide. He didn’t want Nicole to come though and sent her away. Well so he thought. Alcide returned home and told the pack that Sam and the girl were dead, and that he gave the pup to Martha. However the woman he’s sleeping with found Nicole and her mother sneaking around. Alcide has been exposed as a liar, and it seems the pack is not happy . . . . Looks like they are about to turn on poor Alcide. Am I supposed to feel bad for him? Because I really really don’t, at all. I guess his lie that they were dead is the show’s way of trying to redeem him, but he needs to do a lot more as far as I’m concerned.
So for once I wrote this WHILE watching the show, so it’s more detailed than my past few posts.
Warlow saved Sookie from Lafeyette/Sookie’s Daddy. He blasted the spirit out of Lafeyette’s body, something I don’t know why Sookie didn’t do. Sookie told her dad’s spirit to get the bleep out of her life, forever! Bilith was after Warlow, which he could feel, and Sookie decided to try and save him from Bilith as Warlow had now saved her life twice. Once night started to come, Warlow made Sookie bind him just in case he was driven to hurt her. After she tied him up, they talked about his history and why he’s waited so long for her. They also talked about his desire to turn her to be with him forever, which she wasn’t too fond of. Sookie said she seemed to be a danger whore, she realizes a pattern with the men she falls for, and perhaps she needs to just accept the truth about herself. Sookie loosened Warlow, and allowed him to feed on her! Then they got naked and did it, but this all seemed too unreal, the blurred lens made it seem like a dream. As they did it there was this magical fairy light that came from, well down there . . . . What the hell was that?
Jason went to sign up with the Vampire PD force to try and infiltrate them and save Jessica. Unfortunately his plan hit a snag when Sarah Newlin showed up! Or did it? Sarah excused everyone else to talk to him alone. He told her he was here to get Jessica, and if she didn’t let him then he’d expose her as the whore for Christ she really was!
The line of the show goes to Jason! Sarah then got twisted, forcing Jason to watch Jessica and some other guy do it while they watched for scientific information. However the male vampire didn’t want to play the game and do it, and after torturing him for awhile she let him and Jessica go. Dear Sarah Newlin, Jesus does NOT love you!
At the vampire prison Eric and Pam faced off with one another while the others watch. Neither killed the other though. The Governor was furious, so he brought Eric’s sister in to kill her in front of Eric to make him feel the pain he did when he lost his daughter Willow. Some scientist had a virus he thought could kill vampires and he injected it into his sister as their first official test. If it worked, they plan to infect a new batch of Tru Blood with it. Eric was then left to watch as the virus took its toll on Nora. She slowely started to die, but Eric wouldn’t let her go.
Willow demanded her father put her in with the general population, not seclude her from the other vampires. The governor was looking for a way to fix her, to use their research to cure her. Willow wanted the preferential treatment to stop, and she told him that he was just as responsible for how she was as Eric was. Willow wanted to be with Tara, who may be able to help her understand things about herself. She was eventually put in general population. Tara helped understand what was going on, including that Eric was summoning her and she had to go to him.
Willow glamoured the guards into getting her to Eric and Nora. They stole some doctor and guard disguises to get out of the compound. Willow wouldn’t leave without Tara and Jessica though. Eric also found the new Tru Blood plant, which was contaminated with the same virus given to Nora, to kill all the vampires. Uh Oh!
At some motel, Sam argued with his new girlfriend Nicole over where to take Emma and if he should even keep running. Alcide and his dad ended up at the same hotel Sam was at of course. Alcide broke into Sam’s room, but they had long checked out. Sam ended up contacting Emma’s grandma. He was willing to give her to her, but not that pack. She swore she had left them, and from now on it was only her and Emma. Later Alcide confronted Sam, he was furious that Sam gave Emma to Martha and that they left him and his pack. Sam tried to reason with Alcide, who told Sam and Nicole to leave and never come back basically. Alcide said if Sam ever came back, he was dead! I might have to start calling him Asscide from now on. What a jerk! Way to ruin one of my favorite characters.
Andy’s lone fairy daughter came to. She wanted a real name, so Andy named her Adeline. However she wanted to remember her sisters, so Andy named the other three B, C and D names. The sole fairy took all four as a long hyphenated name to remember her sisters. Adeline Braverman(?) Charlene Danica. I really can’t believe they all died!
There was another mess with Terry, he was trying to access some safety deposit box that Arlene knew nothing about. Arlene thought Terry was going to try and kill himself. Holly suggested they get a vampire to make Terry forget the war and what happened with their glamouring. Holly had a friend they used to try and glamour Terry into forgetting the marines, the war and Patrick. The trick seemed to work, but later while taking out the garbage Terry was shot in the neck! *update* Terry paid another army guy to kill him (I missed this when I had to run out of the room). Terry ended up dying in Arlene’s arms. WOW! I hated his story, but didn’t want to see him dead.
Finally Bilith put himself into a coma, with the doctor’s help, so he could commune with Lilith to figure out what to do next. He wanted to know where Jessica was, but all Lilith cared about was Warlow. Bilith came out of his coma and ended up drinking what little of Warlow’s blood they have in order to find him. The blood allowed him to daywalk. Bill ended up going to the Governor’s house, controlled all his guards to shoot each other, and the Governor was stunned. How was he doing this during the day? Bill wanted to know about the room with the sun rays, but the Governor wasn’t going to talk. He said he’d rather die a martyr. Bilith then ripped his head off! Probably the best thing he’s done!
True Blood: Bleep The Pain Away!
So some quick thoughts on the latest “True Blood . . . . ”
I was wondering how they’d turn Warlow around from a zero to a hero, and they managed to do it. We learned Warlow came to Sookie’s parents with the deal and to inform them how she was special, but her dad flipped out and was going to kill her after drugging her with Nyquil to “save” her from a fate worse than death. Warlow intended to turn her into a Vampire Fairy like him, so they could be immortal together. Her dad didn’t like that.
Sookie didn’t believe Warlow when he told her that her dad was going to kill her, but through a seance with Lafayette she learned it was true. Unfortunately daddy possessed Lafayette and means to still cary out his plan to drown Sookie! The show ended with him doing just that. I didn’t understand why she didn’t fairy power blast him. She probably will next week.
One by one more vamps got taken by the Vampire Police. Pam last week, Jessica this week, and Eric gave himself up to try and save Pam. At the containment center they were doing all these experiments on vampires, clearly to learn their weaknesses. Steve, being the kiss-ass he always has, tried to gain favor with the Governor by turning over info on Eric and Pam. The end of the show had them in a room together with two stakes and they were ordered to fight it out, maker and progeny. It was like Thunderdome . . . two men enter, one man leaves!
Bilith came to Sookie’s to take Warlow away, which he could as he/she was his maker and ordered Warlow to come with him/her. We learned about Lilith and Warlow’s past in 3445 BC (or around that number). Basically she was drawn to him while he was fishing, said “God told her about a creature like him, how he was destined to save the Vampire race” and then she turned him. Years later he returned home, he was the King’s son, so he is a Prince. They thought he was long gone, and Lilith warned him he could never go back. He didn’t understand this until he was filled with fairy blood lust and slaughtered everyone but young Nall (Nail?), Sookie’s Great XXXX Grandpa. I’m not sure, but I think that Warlow and Sookie would be related if he was the prince, and Nall became it after everyone died? Anyways, it’s clear why Bilith commanded Warlow to come with him, he needs his blood to save the Vampires. My guess is it will make a new type of Tru Blood that will make vampires into day walkers like Warlow. Though they’ll have to negate the “horny” effect of it somehow.
Alcide continued to be an ass, and his father finally put him in his place by wondering if he was doing what was best for the pack, or doing what that she-bitch he’s with wanted him too. Alcide then banished his dad, who said he never joined Alcide’s pack.
Andy got to his fairy kids, but it seemed that only one of the four was alive. He managed to save her with a stash of V from the police evidence room. Holly suggested that they say the others simply went back to live with their mom. I can’t believe they are dead and was hoping the one that they saved may somehow bring the other three back.
Finally after Jessica stirred up old feelings in Jason, and then got taken by the Vampire Police, Jason went to sign up to become a member. Obviously in order to infiltrate the group. Jason as a spy? Really?
True Blood: Twists and Turns . . .
This is pretty much just some thoughts on “True Blood.” I didn’t get last week’s episode written up, so I wanted to at least post something about last week and this week and decided to mainly just do some quick thoughts on how things are developing.
First up, the Teri and Patrick story sucked balls last year, so I really don’t know why they insist on keeping it going this year. Patrick was a horrible person, Teri shot him because he had no choice. Let the story die. I don’t need to see Teri all wracked with guilt and confessing to his pregnant wife. They should have let it die!
Alcide is still being a @#$!wad and I hate him more and more each week. Why did they have to ruin one of the nicest guys on the show? Though I didn’t mind seeing that bunch of humans get eaten I will admit. Sam at least got Emma back, for now, and of course now he’s hooking up with the human head of that group he managed to save. Well we know she’s gunna die!
The minute Ben saved Jason with his Vampire Blood, I knew he was Warlow. Why they took till the end of the show to reveal it, I don’t know. It was so obvious. I did love Jason’s sexy-time dream about him! I’m sad that they got rid of Gramps so quickly. I am not sure where Warlow through him. Some space-time-flux? He claimed he survived 20 years there, so Gramps could too? I also really hope they don’t make Sookie still fall for Ben/Warlow, after all he did kill her parents.
Eric predictably turned the Governor’s daughter, which I thought was not only lame, but will only probably fuel his hatred for Eric and others. One by one vampires keep getting rounded up, and in the latest episode they got Pam as Tara watched. It seems Bilith’s prophecy of them all in a room roasting is coming true.
Bilith meanwhile kidnapped Andy’s daughters to use their blood, since Sookie has forsaken him. Unfortunately Jessica couldn’t control herself around them and apparently sucked them all dry. I hope she really didn’t kill all four of Andy’s daughters that would actually suck. I don’t know who to feel worse for though, Andy or Jessica who clearly is devastated over what she did.
True Blood: I See The Future . . . Alcide’s A @#$@%
So the latest episode of “True Blood” wasn’t as exciting as the premier. There were things I like, and things I hated. Let’s get into the details . . .
We found out that Warlow, who revealed himself to Jason, wasn’t Warlow at all. He was his fairy great grandfather Na. I thought that was a great twist. Warlow is however real and showed up on the bridge were he killed Jason and Sookie’s parents. We didn’t get a good look at him, but he looks like Blackbeard the Pirate in many ways. Na explained all to Sookie and Jason. He not only is their fairy grandpa (as Jason called him), but really is their kin. He explains he is the chief of their tribe, and they are the most powerful of all the Fey. He says Warlow killed his family and his whole village. He later mated with a human, and one of his sons was John Stackhouse who made the deal with Warlow that promised him Sookie. He tells them that when Claude did his magic on the bridge, it sent out a signal to Warlow who has come for Sookie. He told her how she could kill him, their clan possesses a very special power. They can focus all their light into a supernova which will kill any vampire in the area. However Sookie can only do this once, and when she does, all her light will be gone . . . .So I feel like this season is likely the last, as Sookie will do what she needs to do and could finally be human?
Sookie also met another fairy halfling named Ben. She found him in the woods walking to work. He’d been attacked by a vampire. When they touched, light sparks happened. I can see these two ending up together and having a halfling baby together, and maybe that baby could help Sookie keep her powers?
Eric, Tara and Pam learned the governor had a new arsenal of weapons. He has contact lenses that prevent glamouring and they’ve developed silver bullets that emit UV light to fry vampires from the inside. Hmmmm, that reminds me a lot of a series of films . . . Eric failed to get the governor, so he did the next best thing and ended up going after his daughter at the very end of the episode. Oh dear!
A group of humans who have formed some vampire human alliance are trying to get other supernaturals to come out. They went after Sam for being a shifter and wanted him to go public. He refused, and they ended up spying on him. Later Alcide, his nasty girlfriend and Emma’s grandma came for Emma. He refused to give her up, and she wanted to stay with Sam. They attacked Sam and Lafayette and took Emma by force. I really can’t believe they turned Alcide into such an ass. I no longer *heart* you Alcide! Meanwhile as all this went down the human group was in the bushes taping the whole thing. Fantastic! I won’t be sad if some vampires chow down on them.
Bill spent most of the episode in this weird zoned out coma and talking to Lilith. She told him that God made her, God made the humans, God is God and there is only one God. However she said things had been set in motion now, and they were at a crossroads. When Bill came out of his coma he realized he can see the future, he can feel when vampires are in trouble. He also had a premonition of Eric, Tara, Pam and the others all in a cell and having the sun shine down on them and burning them to death. Will Bill be able to thwart this? I would assume so, but I suspect by the end of this season Bill, Eric or both are gunna be dead. The tagline has been “Nobody lives forever” in the previews.
Finally Andy tried to find his fairy babies mama to take the kids back, who are now toddlers. Poor Andy! We still haven’t seen Holly yet, but Arlene did mention her in this episode. Also Patrick’s pregnant wife showed up at Merlottes. She thought Patrick had run off with another woman. Terry was conflicted, but Arlene told her that is exactly what happened. She knew the truth about his death would just make more trouble for them all.
True Blood Season Premier: Bilith Is Here!
So this post is a combination of a very quick summary, along with some thoughts about what was happening . . . I’m writing this right after the show aired on the east coast so I haven’t had time to process it all and give it a lot of thought
We picked up with the raid of the Authority headquarters and Bill becoming Bilith (Pam actually referred to him as this at one point, and it was awesome!). Everyone fled, the headquarters blew up, and Bilith floated off into the sky . . . As everyone plotted to “Kill Bill,” Eric’s sister Nora was more concerned with one Warlow and knew Jason knew something about him. When he wouldn’t tell her willingly, she as Jason put it “brain raped him” to find out what he knew about Warlow. That was the last straw, Jason disowned Sookie for sticking up for the vamps and took off, vowing to kill all vamps. Nora revealed later that Warlow is in the Book of Lilith, he was her first progeny . . . I have a theory about him, we’ll get to that soon.
Jessica then started feeling Bill was summoning her, and he almost tore her apart in doing so. They took her to Bill, who had superhuman powers. Sookie tried to stake him to save Eric, but it didn’t kill Bill! Bill swore he was still Bill, but also was now something more that he didn’t understand. Jessica chose to stand by him, while the rest abandoned him.
Eric repaid Sookie for saving him by giving her back the deed to her house. She realized she needed to get back to the woman she was before him, before Bill. She then rescinded her invitation to him, forcing him out of the house. Nora was waiting for Eric . . . she is convinced Warlow is important and wanted to use Sookie against Bilith. Eric forbade that, and she realized that Eric loves Sookie. Duh! You just figured that out?
Back at Bilith’s, Jessica realized Bill had powers that even he doesn’t even understand. He then saw flashbacks, what looked to be Lilith being chained and killed. He was summoned to a room where naked Lilith was all around him, and then she entered his body! So my thoughts . . . I think Warlow betrayed Lilith eventually and ended up killing her, much like Judas and Jesus. I think that’s what is going on, and I think Bill and Warlow will end up facing off at some point.
Speaking of Warlow . . . he’s back in town for Sookie and ended up picking up a hitchhiking Jason! Jason didn’t realize he was riding with his parents’ killer until he told Warlow EVERYTHING! Poor Jason, he still hasn’t found his brain.
Other things that happened in this episode . . . .
Sam, Emma and Luna escaped the news station/Authority as well, but Luna appeared too far gone. She begged Sam to take Emma and keep her safe. Luna then died . . . but did she? Part of me hopes not, but the actress was unfortunately listed as a guest star in the final credits. She was in previous seasons listed in the opening credits. I’m guessing she’s dead (I’ve been avoiding all spoilers in hopes that it will make this season more exciting). I feel bad for Sam, all his women die! Though I do know a spoiler about the final book and who he ends up with, but I won’t say that here . . . Sam ended up taking Emma back to Merlots to hide out.
The Governor of Louisiana has pretty much declared war on vampires, but at the same time struck a deal to bail out the Tru Blood manufacturers and relocate their headquarters to his state. Yeah from the previews, it seems he and Warlow are the two big-bads of the season.
Andy doesn’t know how to deal with his fairy kids, and Arlene and Terry refuse to raise these kids for him and told him to man up. However later the kids aged over night to about 4 or 5 years old, so I don’t think Andy has to worry about raising them! We didn’t see the whereabouts of his waitress Wiccan girlfriend . . . yet.
Finally Alcide has fully ascended to pack master and now has lots of hot naked babes throwing themselves at him. That’s pretty much all we got out of him this week.
I thought it was a good start for the season. I hope it stays as good as the premier. Last season was definitely the worst of all so far!
