True Blood Season 5 Teaser

It doesn’t show anything yet, it just tells us that “Nothing Stays Buried Forever!” Clearly it’s talking about Russell, but it could also be talking about other things like Marcus’ death. We already know wolves will be plentiful this season, and many come looking for what’s happened to their missing loved ones!

True Blood: Season 5 Casting Bits

True Blood: Season 5 Casting Bits

Posted by Dustin on 12.17.2011 at 11:39 am

I’ve had a folder full of casting bits for the show to post for awhile now. I’ve been retweeting them. However with everything so slow as nothing is on, I figured I’d compile them into a post.

The big news is that Christopher Meloni (who left “Law and Order” this year) is officially joining “True Blood” for season 5. He will play “an ancient and powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.”

Dale Dickey will play Marcus’ mother Annie. She will be performing an important ritual on the show, and will want to avenge Marcus’ death.

Kelly Overton and Louis Herthum have major recurring roles next season as well. Kelly plays a werewolf who has come looking for the old pack leader Marcus (possibly named Rikki). Louis plays a werewolf who takes issue with Alcide as their new leader (possibly named J.D., some think this may be Alcide’s father).

My quest to meet the “True Blood” cast continues. I just met Kristin Bauer (Pam) and Lauren Bowles (Holly). Not the best photo of Pam/Kristin . . . guess she was jet lagged :) No real spoilers to be had, as nobody knows what next season holds. Kristin hopes she let Russell free . . . I told Lauren (Holly) I think she may help Andy raise a fairy kid next season. She said she liked that idea as she already had kids and was a witch.

One day . . . Alcide will be mine! It helps that one of my BFFs worked with him when they went to undergrad :)

True Blood: Dead For Halloween! (Season Finale)

True Blood: Dead For Halloween! (Season Finale)

Posted by Dustin on 09.12.2011 at 11:36 am

Wow . . . just wow! I expected a lot of people to die last night, and had guessed most of them . . . but not that final one! I refuse to believe it is so.

Marnie, possessing Lafayette, stole Jesus’ demon magic and the killed him! I knew Jesus was not long for this world, I had begun to feel it the last few episodes. I am sad, especially for Lafayette who is left with a lot of guilt, but I wasn’t shocked.

Tara, Sookie and Holly raced to save Bill and Eric from being burned alive by Marnie/Lafayette. Holly conjured up dead loved ones, including Gran and Antonia, to talk Marnie out of Lafayette. Actually she didn’t want to go, so Gran ripped her soul out in a bad-ass Mortal Kombat like move. Marnie eventually departed with them.

Nan came to Bill and Eric, having quit the AVL and the Authority (actually being fired) and tried to convince them to join her in a rebellion. They rebelled all right and killed Nan! I wasn’t shocked, but will miss Nan. She had some great lines all season long.

An old war buddy of Terry’s showed up (Scott Foley) who will have a major part next season. We got a glimpse of what might be waiting for Arlene. Renee’s ghost came back for real and warned her of the ghosts of Terry’s past and how they were catching up, and she should run! Obviously Terry’s old war buddy has something to do with this.

Sookie had a bizarre threesome come true with Bill and Eric, but also decided to dump them both. There was a slight hint of something with Alcide . . . but we never saw it to fruition. So damn close! Alcide told her that sometimes their hearts lead them astray, their heads make more sense. Gran however told her, before she departed, to listen to her heart. Listen to Alcide Sookie!

Jason cleared his guilt and confessed to Hoyt, who beat the tar out of him. Jessica and Jason continued to hook up, and at the very end after a tryst . . . a knock at Jason’s door. He thought it was Jessica, I thought it would be Hoyt with a gun . . . it was Rev. Steve Newlander . . . with fangs! Someone turned the Rev! I was not expecting that at all.

Just when I thought last week that Sam may get a happy ending . . . well I did speak too soon. At the end of this episode Sam found himself alone in the woods with a great big wolf staring at him and growling. Who is it? I hope they made sure Marcus was really dead . . . .

Alcide was called to a construction site where someone dug a whole in a parking garage floor . . . yup . . . Russell has escaped! Though we did not see him at all, we know he’s out.

The final scene had Debbie come for Sookie with a shot gun. As she was about to shoot, Tara pushed Sookie out of the way . . . and it appears Tara’s brains got blown out. Sookie then finally killed Debbie and raced to Tara’s body where her head lay in blood.

Noooooooooooo! I was not expecting that at all! Many people around the net are glad, as they hate the character. I love Tara though! I have to believe she’ll be made a vampire or maybe the wound wasn’t as bad as it looked and V can save her or something!

Some stories still were left unresolved. What has happened with Crystal and the inbred panthers? What was the point of Andy’s fairy tryst? Will Jason ever turn into a panther on the show?

True Blood: Giving Up The Ghost!

True Blood: Giving Up The Ghost!

Posted by Dustin on 09.07.2011 at 1:46 pm

So there is only one more episode of “True Blood” left in the season. Horrors! I can’t believe it’s over for another year . . . .

Most of the episode dealt with the vampires showdown with Antonia/Marnie and attempting to save “F’ing Sookie” as they all put it. Hilarious! Jason putting them all in their place was also good.

Pam defied Bill and Eric, who were going to sacrifice themselves to allow Sookie to be let go. She tried to blow up the whole building, which failed. Eric was furios with her and basically told her that he never wanted to see her again. Poor Pam! This of course means she’s probably going to blame Sookie and want revenge . . . .

Marnie/Antonia foresaw her own death, which came at Bill’s hands. Jesus brought out the demon inside of him to part Antonia and Marnie for good, which brought down the forcefield they had set up. Antonia departed when she could, basically leaving Marnie with now power. Eric ripping the one guy witch’s heart out and drinking from it via one of the vessels (using it as a straw) grossed me out to no end!

The previews of course show that Marnie is far from gone. At the very end she took control of Lafayette, and next week Lafayette is going all crazy in his MooMoo. Now I guess we know why they had to finish up the other ghost story as soon as they did. Something tells me Jesus is going to call out the demon again to save Lafeyette, but may not make it to season 5 . . . .

Elsewhere Andy met a Fairy in the woods and had sex with her. When he told Arlene, she convinced him it was just withdrawals. What was that about? Something tells me she’ll show up next season with a little Andy!

Marcus took Luna’s kid and went to have “special adult time” with Debbie. Alcide, Luna and Sam showed up and Sam beat the tar out of Marcus. He didn’t, however kill him. However when Marcus went to shoot Sam in the back, Alcide took care of Marcus . . . which I guess now makes him Alpha and pack leader? He then cast Debbie out . . . finally! Like Pam, she’ll blame Sookie and want revenge . . . . I am happy to see Sam happy for once at the end of a season. Well I guess we aren’t there yet, so anything could happen next week.

True Blood: Best Episode Yet of Season 4!

True Blood: Best Episode Yet of Season 4!

So the show picked up at the tolerance rally with Sookie blasting Eric with her fairy powers to keep him from killing Bill. Blasting him broke Antonia’s spell, as well as returned his memory.

Antonia saw the devastation she had caused, and the loss of innocent life. She began to realize this wasn’t what she wanted. In a huge twist it was Marnie who urged her to continue, to continue using her body as a vesel to destroy “Da Wam Pyres!” Nice twist, I did NOT see that one coming at all.

Nan was worried about “image,” but Bill had enough. He wanted to kill Marnie/Antonia and blow up the entire Moon-goddess Emporium. Nan did not want that to happen, so Bill finally stood up to her. When she realized Eric and Jessica and Pam were with Bill, she started shouting “True Death for you, and you and you!” Loved it! Of course Bill vowed to turn her into the Authority to be dealt with!

Sookie told Bill that Tara and others were captives, they couldn’t blow up the place. Bill said it was war, lives would be lost, some innocent. Sookie, Jason, Lafayette and Jesus then made their own plans to rescue everyone.

Jesus decided to try and use his connection to Marnie to convince Antonia to let him in, saying that he had been gone and was now back. He had to push his way through the forcefield, invoking some “demon” inside of him to do so. Antonia was impressed! Once inside he convinced her to let him talk to Marnie, and was shocked to learn Marnie was the one in charge now. He sent a message to Sookie about this.

Tara and Holly managed to escape, they ran to Lafayette and Sookie, but Marnia showed up and zapped everyone but Jason into the compound! Uh oh . . . .

Marnie/Antonia earlier seemed interested in getting Lafayette back because of his gift, and now she has him! I’m also worried about Jesus’ demon. I can see the show probably turning him evil from it at some point in a future season.

Alcide brought Tommy to Merlotts, where he died with Sam by his side. OMG, I thought I was dreaming . . . I thought maybe it was just a fantasy, but it wasn’t! Tommy is gone! I’m sorry, but I am thrilled. His character has been a waste of space on this show. Sam however now wants revenge and got Alcide to talk about what happened. Meanwhile it looks like Marcus is making the moves on Debbie, and she’s not saying no. I’m seeing a tag team smack down of Alcide and Sam vs Marcus coming!

Finally Terry took Andy out to their childhood “Fort Belfluer” tree house in order to get Andy to face he was an addict and needed help. He then left Andy there to walk home . . . . From spoilers something supposedly happens to Andy in the woods on the way home . . . .

The show ended with a completely bad ass shot of Pam, Eric, Bill and Jessica getting out of a black van to go blow up the Moon-Goddess Emporium.

True Blood: Antonia’s Gone Crazy!

True Blood: Antonia’s Gone Crazy!

Posted by Dustin on 08.22.2011 at 5:00 pm

So here are my thoughts on the latest “True Blood.”

Sam and Luna escaped together with her daughter to go camping and get back to nature. Meanwhile back in Bon Temps, Marcus demanded a meeting with Sam, got Alcide to be his back up muscle, but it was Tommy who showed up . . . pretending to be Sam. When they nearly kicked the life out of him, they realized they’d been duped. Alcide stepped in to save Tommy and took him home. First, I wouldn’t have cried if they did kick the life out of Tommy. Actually I guess I would have lost respect for Alcide had he let that happen. As for Sam and Luna . . . will they get their happily ever after? Sam Trammell did give us a teaser that by the end of the season “they are in a good place.” It also sounds like Sam will eventually face off with Marcus.

I was actually unhappy that the story with Arlene’s baby resolved so soon, and the way it did. With Jason, Jesus and other’s help, the spirit in Lafayette (who showed up at Hoyt’s house with the baby and a gun) remembered what really happened to her. Her lover killed her and the baby and buried them both in Hoyt’s yard. Once they dug them up, and let Lafayette hold the dead baby, the mother and baby ghost were basically reunited and left in peace. I had hoped maybe the baby wasn’t dead, maybe he or she was someone in town . . . However maybe the guy who committed the killings still lives in town?

Andy finally got busted for being on V by Jason. Thank goodness, maybe this story can come to an end!

Jason and Jessica did the dirty deed, which of course left him feeling just dirty. I did love the scene of Jessica crying to Nann, and her saying the last few hours they’d spent together made her realize she was glad she never became a maker!

Sookie, as she recovered from being shot, had a threesome dream about Bill and Eric . . . . Well it was more entertaining than most of her story has been this season at least!

Debbie started using V again, and then came to Sookie to try and make peace. It seems she’s for real . . . or did the V mask her real feelings? At first I thought they might be deviating from what happens to Debbie in the books . . . but rereading some of the spoilers for these last few episodes . . . I don’t think so.

Antonia and Roy, the only witch still on her side, planned to have a brainwashed Eric kill Bill at some big tolerance rally that night in order to turn everyone against Vampires. That’s pretty much where the show ended. Sookie learned Antonia was keeping Tara and the rest locked up, and she headed (with Debbie) to warn Bill. Unfortunately she was too late, as Eric (and other bewitched vampires?) started killing people at the tolerance rally.

True Blood: Ma Petite BayBay!

True Blood: Ma Petite BayBay!

Posted by Dustin on 08.17.2011 at 5:42 pm

So it’s been a few days since Sunday’s “True Blood,” and I’m trying to remember what all went on, aside from that bizarre shower scene everyone had been waiting for . . . .

After Jason saved her from death by sunlight, Jessica couldn’t fight her feelings for him anymore, and left Hoyt. Hoyt went completely nuts on her, saying a whole lot of mean things. I actually felt really bad for poor Hoyt. What’s he going to do now? Go back to that Jesus girl his mom picked out that backed cookies and muffins? My guess is he’ll find a new vampire to suck on him some ;)

Tommy, as many guessed, pretended to be Hoyt’s mom to sell off some land and make some quick cash. Watching him transform back and be stuck in that dress was funny. At least if Tommy has to be on my screen I can get a laugh in at him.

Sam and Luna made up, but he later learned her ex was the new werewolf pack leader, and he doesn’t seem to like Sam being around his little girl at all. Looks like Sam’s got more trouble headed his way. Can’t poor Sam just be happy for one episode?

Lafayette found himself possessed by the woman ghost. So I was a bit confused, as the first time we saw her I thought she was dressed in slave attire. Now it seems like she’s from the 40s or 50s? It look like she was the mistress to a white man, had his baby, but when she went out to by the doll the man killed the kid? Now she’s convinced Arlene’s baby is really hers, and she possessed Lafayette and had him go take the baby. I have to say, I am loving this story more than a lot of the others right now.

Marnie/Antonio was pissed that only one vampire, Hoyt’s mama’s neighbor died. Bill called a meeting to make peace with her and the others. He apologized for what happened to her 400 years ago, and swore it would never happen again. Yada yada, it seemed nobody was going to trust either side . . . and in the end they began fighting one another. Of course it was Sookie who got shot, and Alcide came to her rescue. He defied orders from the new pack leader and got involved, and Debbie watched from the shadows.

Well we know they aren’t killing Sookie off. However now she has to worry about recovering from a gun shot and fending off crazy Debbie Pelt!
