While there is no foul language in this, it is adult oriented, so it may not be totally safe to watch at the work place or around young kids!

This video features select scenes from “Frost The Snowman” and “Frosty Returns” mixed in with comments from Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) of “How I Met Your Mother.”

I thought it was a fan made video till I got to the end . . . CBS did this! They did it as an online advert for both “HIMYM” and the “Frosty” specials. Hilarious, but I can see some people getting bent out of shape over this honestly. Then again, it was online and I would never have learned about it unless a friend forwarded it to me.

BTW, “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland” is always shown on ABC family channel, CBS for some reason doesn’t have the rights to show that one. That’s the one where he marries Crystal.

For Glee Fans

This post is somewhat of a mindless ramble, but I really wanna make this movie known to those who have no idea about it. If you are a “Glee” fan, this is a movie that you’ll probably love and will touch your heart. I know it didn’t invent the genre, “Fame” did that. But if you love “Glee,” do your self a favor and rent the movie “Camp.” It’s an amazing musical with a lot of talented kids and is sure to make you shed a tear before the finale.

Oh and if that doesn’t do it, Kristin Chenowith (April Rhodes on Glee) is signed to star in a Broadway reprise of “Promises Promises” with Jack from “Will and Grace!” The big number from this musical is featured in this movie!

Now enjoy a preview of a song from “Camp” (cause I couldn’t find the trailer on YouTube).

“MELROSE PLACE”
In an elegant Spanish-style apartment building in the trendy Melrose neighborhood of Los Angeles, a diverse group of 20-somethings have formed a close-knit surrogate family. Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton, the original “Melrose Place”) is the landlady, still beautiful at 40, and a central figure in the lives of all her tenants, especially handsome and rebellious David Breck (Shaun Sipos, “Shark”). Sydney started an affair with David despite her turbulent history with his estranged father, Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro, the original “Melrose Place”). Both father and son learned through experience that Sydney was not above using blackmail to control people. Another tenant, high-powered publicist Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy, “Supernatural”), once considered Sydney her mentor, but their friendship was destroyed by betrayal, and Sydney threatened to evict Ella and ruin her career. Sydney also played a pivotal role in the career of Auggie Kirkpatrick (Colin Egglesfield, “All My Children”). After they met at an AA meeting, she became Auggie’s sponsor and encouraged his dream to become a chef. Now a successful sous chef at the trendy restaurant Coal, Auggie has been avoiding Sydney since she began drinking again. The other tenants include Lauren Yung (Stephanie Jacobsen, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”), a medical student in desperate need of money to pay her student loans, and Jonah Miller (Michael Rady, “Swingtown”), an aspiring filmmaker who has just proposed to his live-in girlfriend Riley Richmond (Jessica Lucas, “Cloverfield”), a first-grade teacher. The newest tenant, 18-year-old Violet Foster (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, “7th Heaven”), has just arrived in LA with her own secret connection to Sydney. When a bloody body is found floating in the courtyard pool, David is the leading suspect. However, as the police are soon to discover, almost everyone living at Melrose Place had a reason to want the deceased out of the way. An updated version of the popular 1990s series, MELROSE PLACE is from CBS Television Studios with executive producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer (“Smallville”). Oscar-winner Davis Guggenheim (“An Inconvenient Truth”) is the director and executive producer of the pilot.

“THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE”
The life of a high-fashion model appears glamorous and sexy, but as every new model quickly learns, behind the beautiful façade is a world of insecurity and cutthroat competition. Two teenage models who are about to discover this world for themselves are Raina Collins (Sara Paxton, “Last House on the Left”), a stunning beauty with a secret past, and Chris Andrews (Benjamin Hollingsworth, “The Line”), a strikingly handsome Iowa farm boy. When Raina makes an unforgettable impression at a show introducing the new line from designer Zac Posen (appearing in a cameo role), she steals the spotlight from her friend Sonja (Mischa Barton, “The O.C.”). Sonja has been out of the country for mysterious reasons and is now desperate to reclaim her standing as the reigning supermodel. While Raina and Sonja live at the top of the fashion food chain, Chris is starting at the bottom, having just been discovered by agent Simon Lockridge (newcomer Dusan Dukic) of the Covet Modeling Agency, which is owned by former supermodel Claudia Foster (Elle Macpherson, “Friends”). At his first photo shoot, Chris’ inexperience almost derails his career until Raina comes to his rescue, showing him how to relax and work the camera. That afternoon, Raina brings Chris to the “models’ residence” where she lives along with other young hopefuls, including Marissa Delfina (Ashley Madekwe, “Secret Diary of a Call Girl”), Egan (Jordan Woolley, “As The World Turns”), Issac (Corbin Bleu, “High School Musical 2”) and the current alpha-male-model known as Kai (Nico Tortorella, “Twelve”). At an exclusive industry party that night, Chris is again impressed by Raina’s generosity when she steps aside to make sure Sonja lands a job that will resurrect her career. However, after an ugly scene with Simon, Chris is left to question whether he can survive in this world of dangerous excess and fleeting fame. THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE is from Katalyst Films in association with CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Ashton Kutcher & Jason Goldberg (“True Beauty,” “Punk’d”), Karey Burke (“True Beauty”), Mike Kelley (“Swingtown,” “Jericho”) and Carol Barbee (“Swingtown,” “Jericho”). Christian Duguay (“Coco Chanel”) directed the pilot.

“THE VAMPIRE DIARIES”
Four months after the tragic car accident that killed their parents, 17-year-old Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev, “DeGrassi: The Next Generation”) and her 15-year-old brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen, “Everwood”) are still trying to cope with their grief and move on with their lives. Elena has always been the star student; beautiful, popular and involved with school and friends, but now she finds herself struggling to hide her sadness from the world. As the school year begins, Elena and her friends are fascinated by a handsome and mysterious new student, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley, “Army Wives”). Stefan and Elena are immediately drawn to one another, and Elena has no way of knowing that Stefan is a centuries-old vampire, struggling to live peacefully among humans, while his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder, “Lost”) is the embodiment of vampire violence and brutality. Now these two vampire brothers, one good, one evil, are at war for Elena’s soul and for the souls of her friends, family and all the residents of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is from Alloy Entertainment and Bonanza Productions Inc in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson (“Dawson’s Creek,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer”), Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Privileged”) and Bob Levy (“Gossip Girl,” “Privileged”). Marcos Siega (“Dexter”) directed the pilot.

Grey’s Anatomy Jane & Dead Denny

Grey’s Anatomy Jane & Dead Denny

Posted by Dustin on 11.07.2008 at 6:37 pm

Two weeks of show thoughts mostly in this post. As usual I’m so far behind that to try and recap everything would put me further behind.

Last week Owen had all the residents and their interns work to save the lives of pigs, which he mercilessly stabbed in front of them all. OMG! This just made me completely ill and was enough to turn me off him and Christina. Fortunately at the end of the program Izzie was the one who stood up to him and told him how horrible what he did was, and that they had come to the point in medicine where they didn’t need to test on animals or use them as guinea pigs. Even Christina, after working to save every one, was appalled when Owen turned around and told her to terminate them. She did though as Lexie pointed out they would live in such pain. Frankly I think Owen should have been the one to do that job. This whole story made me sick.

The other major story last week was The Chief asking Miranda to do his job, assemble a team to operate on a little girl who essentially had an inoperable tumor. The Chief was on the team by default, she picked Hahn and Meredith as well. Meredith had found an old toy of hers, Anatomy Jane, that she was play in with. Using it she came up with the idea to take all the girls organs out and put them back in one at a time to get rid of the tumor. It was the only shot they had. Hahn thought it was pointless, and nagged through the entire operation and procedure. Well it worked, and afterwards Baily told Erica Hahn off, saying while she was a brilliant surgeon; it was she and Meredith who saved that girl today as all Erica did was tell them they were going to fail. I just love Baily and I love seeing her tell off anyone, cause she’s usually pretty much right!

Speaking of Erica, she finally realized she was in fact a lesbian in this episode. She wasn’t bi, she wasn’t straight, she was “so very gay” as she put it. That freaked Callie out, as Callie wasn’t having any homo-revelations herself. She of course ran to mark to test out, was she straight, gay or bi? In the end she realized she liked both basically, but wanted to be with Erica.

This past week The Chief announced one of the 2nd year residents would get a solo surgery. He asked Owen to evaluate them as he was the one without a real relationship with them and could be objective. He however soon found himself disgusted with how the residents fought over patients as if they weren’t human beings with feelings and families and lives. I found this somewhat a giant turn-around from the Owen of last week who was sacrificing pigs in the OR. Owen seems to be all over the place emotionally, which I am guessing is supposed to be a reflection of his field work during the war? Christina however put him in his place and good with her speech back to him about how watching her father die in a car accident is why she became a doctor and why she is determined to be the best.

The other major story was the resurfacing of an old patient of Hahn’s. It turned out he was waiting for a heart, but to buy him time they had to perform a radical procedure on him. Izzie was selected by Hahn to be on the team as she needed her to be compassionate and caring, which is what she was known for. However Izzie freaked out when she realize this was the man she stole a heart from when she did what she did illegally to get Denny’s his heart. Denny haunted her throughout this episode, which weirded her out. When Hahn learned of Izzie’s stunt, she was furious. She wanted her fired, investigated, brought up on ethic charges. The Chief told Hahn that Izzie was punished and it had been dealt with, that she was a good doctor and they couldn’t lose her. Hahn was sicked by this.

Later when Callie defended Izzie, Hahn was sickened by her. She thought there was no grey here, it was black and white. She launched into Callie saying Izzie was wrong, she can’t believe Callie would take her side, that she never knew her. She also told Callie that you can’t kinda be a lesbian, you either are or you aren’t. Erica walked off, and that is the end of her story for now.

I thought it was a crummy end for her and Callie, as well as her character. But Erica always was a hard-ass bitch, she came into the show that way and she left that way.

Izzie meanwhile is in a world of trouble! Erica could follow through with her threat to report Izzie. This could be how they do away with her. Likewise Izzie seems to really be seeing Denny, so they could say she does have something wrong; a tumor or imbalance causing her to hallucinate.

Dirty Sexy Money: VP Nick

Dirty Sexy Money: VP Nick

Posted by Dustin on 10.09.2008 at 7:16 pm

In this episode, Letitia was to stand trial for Dutch’s murder. Nick recommended some big-wig lawyer to defend her, but Tripp plotted to get rid of the guy. He eventually fired him over various incidents, which Tripp himself I’m sure orchestrated in order to pressure Nick to take the case. Nick continued to say he wouldn’t, it would look too suspicious to the court.

Because Letitia was the VP of Darling Enterprises and the successor should anything happen to Tripp, the stocks tumbled and the board of directors needed Tripp to name a new VP. Tripp felt he couldn’t decide and asked Nick to do it.

At Letitia’s trial we found out, as did Jeremy, that Lucy Lui’s character is the assistant DA prosecuting Letitia! Oops! Jeremy felt used, but she swore she really likes him and this is real. However she couldn’t risk her job, so she decided to end things. Jeremy wouldn’t accept that, pushing her to still see him if this was something real.

Back to Nick’s decision, Karen decided she was qualified for the job and wanted it. She asked Simon to talk to Nick on her behalf, and boy did he ever. He told Nick they both knew Karen wasn’t ready to run this company. He simply wanted Nick, if asked by Karen, to say he did talk her up to him about the job. Simon then went back to Karen and told her that he talked to Nick for over an hour, but he doesn’t think Nick is considering her. He said Nick doesn’t take her as seriously as he does.

Nick made his recommendation to Tripp. Later at Ellen’s funeral, Lucy Lui showed up with tons of cops to arrest Letitia for violating her house arrest. Nick expected this, having a slew of reporters show up and cover it. Lucy Lui (her character is named Lola Lyons BTW) decided to drop the charges for now.

Unfortunately Brian’s temper got him in trouble with a cop, and when Nick stepped in to smooth things over, they were both arrested. In jail Brian lashed out at Nick, accusing him of most likely suggesting himself for VP of Darling Enterprises. Nick told Brian he gave his recommendation to Tripp and that he named Brian. He said Brian is the black sheep and owes the least allegiance to this family, yet he’s been the most dedicated and loyal. Brian then tried to convince Nick to take Letitia’s case, saying they know she’s innocent and they both know who really killed Dutch . . . Tripp!

Nick eventually took the case, telling Tripp it was because they were family. Lisa, who had been wanting another baby, wasn’t too thrilled. Nick felt given their current situation, another baby wasn’t a good idea anyways.

At the press conference to announce the new VP, predictably Tripp did what Tripp wanted and named Nick! Nick was stunned, but later told Lisa the more the thought about it, the more he liked the idea. He thought they were actually in a good place to have that second baby. Lisa then told him no, they weren’t!

My Thoughts . . . .
So we had a lot of interesting developments in this episode.

First up, I think Nick only took Letitia on as a client as he realized he could most likely free her by catching his father’s real killer. I think Tripp realized this too, which is why he appointed him VP of Darling Enterprises. Will we see Tripp do a turnabout and suggest it would now be a conflict of interest to have Nick defending Letitia?

I still can’t figure out what is going on with Simon and Karen. Are they using each other? Simon is definitely scheming, but I don’t know why. Is he trying to turn Karen against Nick and her family, or simply Nick out of jealousy? Perhaps he fears she’ll never get over Nick and this is what his game plan is to help her get over him?

I don’t know if Lola is serious about Jeremy or not. Regardless, I’m not really warming up to them yet. They have been the yawner story for me so far.

Juliet was finally mentioned in this episode as being on some island, so she’s still a family member. They didn’t simply just “forget” about her like they did that one kid on “Family Matters.” Also Nick and Lisa mentioned “another” baby, so they clearly still have their little girl . . . wherever she is.
