Has Henry’s Dad Been Cast On Once Upon A Time?

Has Henry’s Dad Been Cast On Once Upon A Time?

TV Guide is reporting that Sebastian Stan will guest star on ABC’s “Once Upon A Time,” but little else is known. Sebastian is probably best known for his role on the CW’s “Gossip Girl” as well as for playing Captain America’s sidekick Bucky Barnes on the big screen flick “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

Who could he be playing? Based on his looks alone, I think he’s a dead ringer for Henry’s deadbeat dad that Emma mentioned an episode back. Recall that she lied to Henry, telling him his dad was a firefighter and died a hero battling a fire. In reality he’s someone bad, someone Emma feels Henry is better off not knowing about.

Catching Up With The Secret Circle Gang!

Catching Up With The Secret Circle Gang!

Posted by Dustin on 01.26.2012 at 10:05 pm

So I realized I hadn’t written about “The Secret Circle” since before I left for my cruise. This post discusses some of my thoughts on the last few episodes. The show is on hiatus this week and returns February 2nd (I’ll post some spoilers this weekend . . . . though I hate to because that means I have to read/edit them and I so enjoy this show without them!)

Faye made a deal with a Voodoo Priest named Lee to try and get her own powers back, but it came at the cost of the circle. Lee turned out to be a con-artist, his grandparents were the real voodoo priests, he was a joke basically. He could do the spells, but wasn’t as knowledgable as them. Faye got crucified by her circle for what she did, but part of me was for her when she lashed back at them. They’ve all forgiven Cassie for her mishaps, but roast her. Okay yeah, Cassie didn’t mean to do the things she did, Faye did. Sure Faye’s not perfect, but she did have a point, and she didn’t know she was stealing from all of them (she thought it was just Cassie, not that it makes what she did better). I guess I just like her cause she’s exciting, and she has been labeled the trouble maker . . . even if she is :)

Faye isn’t done with Lee just yet. She keeps seeing him, and him her . . . but we know he has bigger plans. Something tells me he is somehow after her powers and may plan a sacrifice in the future . . . I guess Faye’s karma will bite her in the ass sooner or later.

One thing I loved about Faye screwing the others was Melissa and Diana bonding. We learned they were good friends, until Melissa started hanging out with Faye. I love Melissa, I just wish she had a bigger part in the show. She seems to just be the side kick so far.

Jake was back, thanks to Cassie’s spell, but he lurked about until this latest episode. Jake finally came out of the shadows, and told Cassie that they had to find out what happened the night their parents died. He was a toddler and there, so they could use a spell to see his memories. I was honestly a little confused. I thought they were high school students when they died? Seemed more like they were in college from the flashbacks!

But anyways, a huge twist I never saw coming, though of course I never read the books! The fire on the boat was not the circles doing, but started by witch hunters who were trying to kill Cassie’s father. The twist happened when he vanished! He escaped before being executed! The news had broke before this episode that “Dr. Quinn” heartthrob Joe Lando had been cast as Cassies father. Wait, he’s a bit old isn’t he? Guess not if he’s still alive! I had wondered how that would have worked. I thought maybe his ghost?

I absolutely love this twist . . . though what will this mean for the circle members who had their powers stripped after the accident? Will they be vindicated? Will they be returned? Dawn with powers . . . scary thought!

I cannot WAIT for this show! The cast looks amazing. All they need now is guest spots from Jean Smart and Delta Burke for a “Designing Women” reunion and I’ll be in heaven!

Desperate Housewives: Don’t Call My Name, Alejandrooooooo . . . Just call me Ramonnnnnnnn

So the latest episode of “Housewives” had Susan and Gabby scrambling to clean up Susan’s mess with Alejandro’s latest wife, who came to town thinking Susan had stolen her man. This all happened as Gabby was having the room Alejandro was killed in redone before Carlos came home, so he wasn’t further reminded of what happened. The blood stain on the floor and carpet she claimed was a wine stain.

Alejandro/Ramon’s wife showed up and met with Gabby, when Gabby decided it was time to tell the truth after Susan let her know another step-daughter had been molested. Gabby never said she killed Alejandro, but did point out his name was not Ramon, that he had a family before his new one, and disappeared on them . . . She said Alejandro returned to find her when she revisited her old home town and said some not nice things about him that got him angry. She told the new wife he was a child molester, which at first she wouldn’t believe . . . until her own daughter claimed it was true. All this coupled with the “Red Wine Stain,” well the new wife seemed to fill in the pieces. It seems like she’s keeping the secret . . . but who knows. I’m sure something will come out eventually and get the girls in hot water again. Ben’s construction site is in big trouble, I’m sure that cement foundation Alejandro is hidden in will break open at any moment! Knowing this show, it will crack when a tornado hits, and crashes a plane into it! Have they done an earthquake yet? That could be an option too!

Lynette attempted to move on by dating Renee’s hairdresser. Of course it was a huge disaster of a first date, because she did what she does best . . . critique and micro-manage. Apparently that’s what this guys ex-wife did, and it ended their marriage. Oops! But there must be something there, as it seems they give a second date a try. Frankly, I’m not sure I want to watch another date!

Bree, however, was a very very very fun date! Bree continued her drinking binge, along with her string of men. Her Reverend became concerned with her, even suggesting . . . no telling her that she wouldn’t be running the bake sale this year as it was for her own good. Bree didn’t like that, showed up, and got into a huge fight with a woman who happened to be married to one of her one-night-stands. Bree decided she liked being bad, the town slut, and walked out of the bake sale with her head held high. Honestly, I loved it! It was shades of Kimberly from “Melrose Place!”

Finally Ben proposed to Renee, who accepted. However his conscious got the best of him and he confessed while he loved her, he proposed because he was having money problems and she had money. Renee was devastated and ended things, unsure if Ben ever really loved her. Poor Renee! Why do I feel like Renee might end up with Tom in the end?

It looks like both “Grimm” and “Parenthood” don’t return until February. *Sigh* I guess shows are going on hiatus in order to put good stuff on during sweeps month. Frankly we just came off a long enough hiatus if you ask me!

On “Grimm,” an illegal organ donation business plays on the “Hansel and Gretel” story.
On “Parenthood” Mark and Sarah have the talk about possibly having a kid . . .

Once Upon A Time: Strange Love!

Once Upon A Time: Strange Love!

Posted by Dustin on 01.23.2012 at 9:46 pm

The latest episode of “Once Upon A Time” (7:15 is the real title) was not one my favorites. It seemed like another filer episode to stretch out the season. These types of episodes are common, I just wish they’d find a way to do them that aren’t always focused on Charming and Snow some times. The Jimminy Cricket one, for example, I liked.

In the real world Mary Margaret and David tried, and failed, to fight their love for one another. He wanted to try marriage counseling with his wife, Mary Margaret mistakingly thought his wife was pregnant. In the end, they couldn’t fight their attraction and were seen by Regina making out in the middle of the street right in front of Granny’s Diner. Yeah she was not happy. Something tells me the closer they get, the more they’ll remember, and the more Storybrooke will unravel. Regina better find a way to get his wife pregnant stat! I did chuckle when Mary Margaret told David that his wife might be pregnant and he was shocked. He stated he can’t believe it and that he didn’t even know they were trying . . . . Wouldn’t he know if he was doing something that might lead to a baby :)

In the fairytale world the same story played out, Snow and Charming’s love problems, prior to Charming’s wedding. Charming vowed not to marry Midas’ daughter Abigail if Snow wanted him to back out and be with her. However the king vowed to kill Charming if Snow did not break it off with him. She ended up doing so, and shacking up with the dwarves. She also took a potion from Rumple that made her forget her love for Charming . . . and of course she did this right as Charming ditched his wedding and came to find her (because of advice from Red Riding Hood). I did enjoy seeing how she ended up with the dwarves. Also the 8th dwarf Stealthy, who died early on . . . that was an interesting twist! In the original fairy tale the dwarves never had names mind you. I also liked seeing more of Red in the Fairytale world.

The story I wanted to see was the one barely touched. Emma questioned the stranger, who Regina said was far to interested in Henry. Or is he interested in her? He was stalking their house. The stranger turns out to be a writer, who came to town with his very ancient looking typewriter looking for inspiration . . . . I can’t help but wonder if he has some connection to the book of fairytales? Nobody ends up in Storybrooke by chance, there is a reason they are there.

Catching Up With The Docs of Grey’s and Private Practice!

Catching Up With The Docs of Grey’s and Private Practice!

Posted by Dustin on 01.21.2012 at 4:04 pm

Just some quick thoughts on the last few episodes of both shows . . . . I’m all caught up with vacation viewings finally! A lot went down, and I’m trying to remember things to comment on actually.

I love that Derek and Meredith are happy again and have Zola. Now isn’t it about time Derek finally finishes that dang house he’s been building for years?

I hate watching everyone in Mark’s life take such a liking to his new girlfriend, mainly because we know it won’t end well. He himself told Callie and Arizona to back off a bit, he wanted to take things slow so he didn’t ruin things like he always does. But I have a feeling he’s still hung up a bit on Lexie, who is still very hung up on him.

Watching Teddy grill yang over and over again about Henry’s death was heart breaking. I was so afraid that she was never going to forgive Christina. However it seems both Teddy and Christina have directed their anger at Owen . . . .

Christina and Owen’s huge fight at the end of the last episode was explosive to say the least. And in front of all their friends too at Zola’s party. I figured the abortion wouldn’t just be swept under the rug, and Owen exploded about it and how Christina always does what Christina wants, and that this was not the life he thought he was signing up for . . . Ouch!

Over to “Private Practice,” this week’s episode was just chocked full of horror as the couple Violet met at the beginning of the season returned, with the husband having beaten the wife until she lost her unborn child. Violet invited her to recuperate at her house, which lead to the husband breaking in, knocking Violet out . . . only for her to wake up and find the wife stabbing the husband over and over . . . I think it’s time for Violet to find a new house at this point as the blood stains are never going to come out of her floors!

As I felt would happen, Charlotte and Cooper are going to become full time parents to Mason sooner than later, as his mom has a brain tumor and limited time left.

Sam and Pete were moving on and playing the field, but neither seemed to happy with the idea of Violet and Addison moving on as well. Grrrrr! What is with the men on this show? Next week, from the previews, looks to be another infuriating episode involving Pete.

Addison, with Jake’s help, is searching for a surrogate for her baby. I liked that Amelia offered to carry it, but clearly with her just out of recovery that’s not a great idea. Addison knew as much as well. I guess Jake’s helping Addison is going to lead to their inevitable romance . . . . at least he’s not Sam! I am so glad they are over, and I really hope the show doesn’t put them back together again. Have they gotten the memo that those two just don’t make a good couple?
