So last night on “Once Upon A Time” it seems they set up the big shocking death they’ve been teasing about, especially with the previews of what is to come.
In Fairytale land Snow, Granny, Red, the dwarves and the fairies launched an attack to save Charming. Charming/James was to be killed by the king, but Regina swooped in to make a deal for him. She paid the king all the gold Midas owed him and planned a much worse revenge for James than lopping off his head. She then spirited Charming away to trick snow into attacking the castle (which Snow knew was a trap already). She made a deal with Snow to take a bite of the apple and sleep forever, which would hurt Charming more than actually killing her. In exchange she’d let Charming go. Snow agreed, bit the apple, and now we know how she wound up asleep.
So it seems like there really was nothing more to her hatred of Snow. It was simply the whole thing over Snow telling her mother about the stable boy, and him getting killed. I am disappointed, as really she should be blaming her mother and not a little child.
In the real world, Regina had had it with Emma and wanted her dead, as the curse was unraveling. Her apple tree is dying, and it was only a matter of time before people started to remember who they were. Gold warned her that wouldn’t be a good thing for her. He also told her that she couldn’t kill Emma, that would break the curse. Regina realized Gold wanted the curse broken, but she didn’t know why. Regina knew another way to get rid of Emma without breaking the curse. She used the Hatter to try and go back to the other world to get something to help her. She had his real hat, which had magic. She had a few trinkets of magic left hidden away, and she promised to give the Hatter and his daughter new lives together and new memories. However what little magic remaining that she had brought into this world wasn’t enough. They used it all up, and all they could do was reach through the hat and get something, and Regina knew what she needed. She retrieved the apple that Snow dropped after biting into it.
Elsewhere, Henry convinced Emma to stay in town, and Mary Margaret was furious with Emma for trying to flee with Henry. She said it would have solved nothing. After talking to Archie, Emma felt certain that Regina would never harm Henry, but this curse thing of Henry’s was getting out of control. Emma realized she had to leave Henry behind because it’s what was best for him, it would help him move on.
Meanwhile Henry tried to get August to talk to Emma, but he said he tried. August is turning more and more into wood, which he showed Henry. He claimed it was because he had been a bad boy and not done as he was supposed to, this was his punishment. Henry thought if Emma saw this . . . but again August said he tried and she doesn’t see it because she doesn’t believe it.
So I’m still having trouble with this! It seems like the only magic in this world is the few things Regina had brought with her. I’m assuming the huntsman’s heart was one of them, which is how she killed him when she felt he betrayed her. So why is August turning back to wood? I think the writers don’t want us to think about this.
Regina baked an apple tart she planned to serve to Emma. Emma however surprised Regina by not only showing up to see her, but by claiming she was leaving town as it is what is best for Henry. However she wanted to be able to visit her. Regina agreed, only because she sent her on her way with the tart . . . a little something to eat on the road. Before she could leave, Henry came over. She was saying goodbye, but he was still trying to get her to believe in the curse. When he learned about the tart, and that it was an apple tart, he told her she couldn’t eat it. He did the only thing he knew to do in order to get Emma to believe him. Henry ate the tart, and then collapsed!
I had issues with this as well. Why would Emma take home made food from the woman who hates her? Yeah, no!
Grey’s Anatomy: Failure! Quitter! Does Jesus Still Love Me?

So the latest episode had the doctors fretting over their boards and how they did . . .
Alex arrived late, but made it. However he missed his first of three rounds. That meant he failed 1/3 of the exam and had to score perfectly on the other two. He got hostile with his two reviewers from the get go, and eventually blew up at them in the end. He said he was late because of his job, which is what they were here to determine if he could be doing, not second guessing his answers.
Christina was far too complacent in her exam, which is not like her. She would give an answer, then one of her examiners (Mr. Finney from “Boy Meets World”) would ask if she was sure she didn’t want to do it this way? She would respond if he thinks that is what she should do then she is fine with that. In the end she too blew up, saying she knew what she was doing, but if her examiner was more comfortable with her answering with medical techniques from 100 years ago then he should pick an era and she’ll give him those answers. He fumed and ended the exam twenty minutes early.
Meredith was puking sick and kept having to pause. Her examiners thought the questions were making her squeamish. She revealed she had the flew when she finally grabbed a bucket and puked. They said she could take the exam again in a year. She however said no, she’d do it now. She told them they were all doctors, they should be used to puke! Her examiners looked revolted when she blew her cookies the first few times.
Jackson and April were both a mess, and both banged each other in the bathroom at during a break. April was convinced she was being punished for breaking her word to Jesus. Jackson just couldn’t get his mom and The Chief out of his head. April’s blow up moment came when she was asked what she’d do for a terminal patient? She said the first thing she’d do would be to pray. They were stunned, but she stopped apologizing for her faith and said she would pray, though she didn’t think Jesus was listening to her anymore. Then she gave them the answer as to how to make the patient the most comfortable with the time he/she had.
Catherine told The Chief that one of his doctors failed. She didn’t know which, but one failed (so she heard). At the end of the episode everyone got their texts that they passed, everyone but April. The show cut out right as they looked at April, who had just checked her smart phone. The look on her face was . . . not good?
Back at the hospital, an old friend (maybe her cousin?) of Arizona’s came in with tumors. He had been to see some shamanic healer in South America. He told Arizona the tumors came up six months ago, but really it was six years ago. She was furious, as her brother died of cancer (in the war?) and there was nothing she could do for him. She felt she could have done something for him though. He however knew there was nothing to be done, and he didn’t want to have to watch this again.
Meanwhile Lexie and Mark still skirted around the whole feelings thing. Things were made more complicated when the doctor Mark is seeing blurted out that she’d love to have a baby with him. It just came out, she didn’t want him to freak. But clearly you could see the wheels spinning. Derek tried to use a patient as a “teaching moment” for Lexie about waiting to long to do something, but Mark thought Derek was talking to him! The show ended with Lexie professing her love for Mark. Then Mark’s other woman showed up to meet him for a planned date. Mark just stood there stunned . . .
I really really hope Mark chooses Lexie! They are clearly the new Meredith and Derek though, especially if the later don’t return next year. That of course means seasons of off and on relationships. How much longer can I deal with that? It was bad enough with the first couple.
Do you think Izzie took her boards? I wonder . . . Did she pass? I hope we at least hear something. We know Shonda and the show have shot down Katherine Heigl’s desire to return, even if only for a moment.
I’m very confused about April and if she failed. I hope she didn’t, I hope it was a tease. Maybe Catherine was wrong and no one failed? Maybe some no name failed. I just feel like we’ve been there done that with George, let’s not repeat it.
The promo for next week actually showed April celebrating. It is below, so you can see it. I watched it again closely to make sure they didn’t do something sneaking like throw in an old clip of her partying. She’s in the same shirt when she’s hollering with the beer earlier in the clip that she’s wearing when the text comes in that her offer has been withdrawn. I think it will be because of the Jesus answer. Was one of her examiners on the hospital board of where she was supposed to work perhaps?
So first up, the CW has officially given “90210″ an early renewal. Yay? No news yet on “Ringer” or “The Secret Circle,” both of which I love. (“Supernatural” and “Vampire Diaries” also got renewed).
I misunderstood the previews for last week, though previews do tend to make things deceptive. The blond I thought was Jen was just some friend of Naomi’s who asked her to plan the wedding. P.J. did get married, to some blond super model. The big shock came at the end though, when she learned her friend was marrying Max! Oh Max . . . how could you! Then again Naomi did kinda fall for Austin the Cowboy while she was supposed to be with Max, who also couldn’t support her when she thought she was pregnant.
Austin tried to pimp Adrianna out to his dad to impress him, but she got annoyed that he seemed to just be treating her as a meal ticket. She ended up walking out on him, and a sweet concert event with his dad. Meanwhile Annie and Caleb did the deed. He seems to have made the decision to give up the priesthood? However that may change! Austin came to Annie to try and convince her to tell Adrianna the truth about him, because she thinks he’s just total slime and him admitting to framing Dixon doesn’t help. However he only did that to save Annie’s but from jail. Annie however said now was a really bad time for it to come out she was a prostitute. Oops, it just did and Caleb seems to have heard!
Ivy was broken out of the hospital by her hippie tagging artist friend Diego, who knew what she needed. To break the law and graffiti of course! She made a tribute to Raj, then they both got busted. It seems they were more after Ivy to return her to the hospital. However Diego ended up in bigger trouble as he gave them a fake ID . . . because he’s an illegal. He booked it, leaving Ivy to fed for herself. I’m still not sure how Ivy can be committed without her family’s okay and by a priest in training who really doesn’t know her . . . but whatever! It’s “90210!”
Finally Silver thought she was preggers. Navid vowed to stand by her because she claimed it was a one night stand. He found out it was really Liam. This all went down on the red carpet. Punches were thrown. Words were said. All was recorded for posterity by the paparazzi . . . and Silver gets the call that she’s not pregnant! Have these kids figured out that at this point they’ve all slept with one another, even if they haven’t really, simply because of the amount of partner swapping they’ve done? Maybe it’s time to seek love outside the circle . . .
So what to say about this week’s “Private Practice?” I think the most important thing is that we learned Amelia is keeping the baby and delivering it so that it can be an organ donor for others. Now I feel even worse for her! Especially after she felt the baby kick in this episode, got excited, but then came down to earth. She knew what was going on, she shouldn’t get excited, she’s a neurosurgeon and knew what was happening. Jake was there for her, telling her it was okay, it was natural to react that way. The show ended with her signing all the necessary papers, because she knew she wouldn’t have the strength to do so after the baby was born.
Addison and Pete worked on a case with an illegal trying to have her baby in this country and give him up before she was deported so that the baby had a better life, while Violet and Cooper worked with a young girl who was sure she was really meant to be a boy. Oh and Mason finally began warming back up to Pete, after giving him the cold shoulder for so long.
Sam became Addison’s go-to baby sitter for Henry, and he seems to be warming up to the baby. Oh brother! Why does Shonda Rhimes have such a . . . pardon the expression, hard on for these two? I can’t stand them! Addison needs to move on and so does Sam.
Pete meanwhile ditches therapy sessions with Violet, then at the end of the episode springs huge news on her. Because of the case with the illegal mother, he has remembered his days working in Uganda and other 3rd world countries. Suddenly he’s decided he wants to go back, so he was leaving for awhile . . . Wait . . . What? Isn’t this exactly what he bitched Violet out for doing? Now he wants to do it? Violet begged him to stay, to work on their marriage, to figure things out. Based on next week’s previews it seems he does stay, only to sabotage himself and his career further. I can’t help but think it’s less about his principles and ethics and more about sabotaging himself. Pete is a whole lotta messed up!
The storyline I’m most interested in right now, what the hell is going on with Sheldon, was nowhere to be seen in this episode.
Desperate Housewives: Heading Into The Finale . . .
Posted by Dustin on 05.02.2012 at 8:23 pm
So after a few weeks of no shows, “Desperate Housewives” returned this Sunday (these breaks are getting ridiculous). There really are only a few shows left. It’s sad because I feel like the show is finally getting good again. Well except for the fact that Mike is still dead! I really despise that they did this. Why couldn’t they have given Susan and Mike a happy ending? How many weeks to we have to watch Susan and MJ being unhappy and depressed? Well, not too many more really. But how are we to get any kind of a happy ending here? Will Susan suddenly learn she’s pregnant?
Bree did what Bree did best this week, she fell for her lawyer. Bree always seems to be attracted to opposites, and he’s as opposite of Bree as one can get. I do hope this relationship will work out for Bree. All the girls deserve their happy ever after.
Lynette has been flirting with Tom’s Boss, and old work acquaintance of hers who always had a thing for her, and thinks Tom is a fool for dropping her. He is bending over backwards to make her happy by punishing Tom and Jane by making Tom work late, which makes Jane very very angry! However he went a little overboard and is planning to send Tom to India for a year! Yeah, not cool, at all. I was enjoying Lynette versus Jane, but this story is a bit too nutty right now. I’m sure Lynette also doesn’t want Tom gone for a year. Even if they don’t get back together, she needs help with the kids. We did learn that Tom still hasn’t signed the divorce papers, so I guess that means there is still hope for them.
Finally Carlos and Gabby were at odds over a client of Gabby’s who recently came into a lot of money. Carlos poached Gabby’s client and convinced her not to spend her money on clothes, but to donate it to the charity he worked with. Basically the war over their client made her run away, as she thought they were both nuts. In the end Gabby told Carlos he tried to steal her client because he’s a shark, that’s what he does and why she loves him. He wanted to change, but she said he was a shark, he can’t change that. I have a feeling this little talk is going to lead Carlos to confessing and saving Bree. His desire to be a better man will drive him to do the most heroic thing he can (though that is debatable, since letting Bree take the fall for everyone else is really cowardly).
A lot went down on “Army Wives” last night . . . where to begin?
Claudia Joy is still out of town recovering. However we learned she reached out to Jackie, and they have made peace and agreed to start over when CJ returns. After an incident in a restaurant where her purse tipped over, Denise began to worry about Jackie having a prescription medication addiction. Jackie of course denied any problem, but as the show progressed, she popped more and more pills. We learned everything we apparently knew from Audrey (Susan) was false. Kevin was the hard ass, the workaholic. He put his career first, over their marriage. Jackie had been popping pills to deal with his increasingly demanding career. I am not sure how I feel about this. I don’t think I can bring myself to like Jackie!
Nicole and Charlie were invited by Joan and Roland for dinner. Nicole had always had trouble living out and open, even now that “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” had been abandoned. However after dinner with a very supportive Roland and Joan, she was ready to do so, even proposing to Charlie. Meanwhile, Nicole had been nominated for the Bronze Star. Kevin’s right hand man told him that Nicole was gay, and apparently there is a belief that Kevin is against gays serving in the military. Joan had heard of comments Kevin supposedly made against lifting the ban, which she told to Roland. His assistant must have heard the same thing, and came to Kevin with a plan to basically de-nominate her on a technicality. Kevin however ripped him a new one, saying Nicole was an exemplarily soldier, that she saved many lives, and the U.S. government says he is not to discriminate and he will not. Hurray for Kevin! However we don’t know if he’s doing this because he’s a man who follows regulations, or because of what he believes. What does Kevin believe? I hope this is clarified.
Gloria and Hector got themselves into money troubles. They spent spent spent, and did not think of the consequences. They didn’t even know how to balance a checkbook and make a budget! Roxy and Trevor stepped in to help them out and get them back on track. At the end of the show Roxy also offered Gloria a job at the bar, because she needed help and Gloria had a great report with the cliental.
Tonya faced off with the doctor at the hospital that she kissed in the field. He broke things off, saying he was a major and she was enlisted, there was to be no fraternization between ranks. He had been treating her horribly since they got back, and she avoided him at all costs because of it. When she couldn’t take the treatment anymore, she let him have it verbally . . . he let her have it with a kiss. They soon ended up in bed, but agreed it could never happen again. Yeah, we know it will, and it will lead to trouble!
By the end of the show, the Shhhh hit the fan. Frank had been having nightmares through the whole episode about the orphans they left behind. A news story broke that exactly what the American aid worker told them would happen, happened. The orphan edge was raided, several children killed and others are missing. The worker fled with the smallest she could carry. Now Kevin, who commanded the mission, is under fire. I think we can say that this basically means Kevin’s third star won’t happen and Michael will get it. More pills for Jackie?
On the latest “Once Upon A Time” we finally learned who August the writer is, for real. The show started with Henry realizing that there was a new story added to the book, Pinocchio’s story . . . .
In Fairytale Land, we saw how the Blue Fairy brought Pinocchio to life from a wooden puppet and made him a real boy. We also learned it was her who asked Gepetto to build the cabinet to transport Emma to the new world. We also learned there was space for two people to go, the plan was for Snow and Emma to go through. Gepetto however would not build it unless one spot went to Pinocchio. The Blue Fairy didn’t like this, but this was the deal. Pinocchio would protect Emma, and they would tell everyone there was only a spot for one person to go through, Snow and Charming would never know the truth.
Back in the real world, August felt Emma was too focused on getting Henry back, she had lost site of what her true mission was. He knew Emma was going to Mr. Gold for legal advice to get Henry back, he advised Gold to turn her away. He knew she’d then come to him for help, and he’d put her back on the path. When that happened, he took her out to the woods and to a roadside cafe, to tell her their story. He told her that he was the little boy who found her. He told her that he came from the same world she did, they were both transported through a magic wardrobe and ended up in this hollowed out tree in the forest. He said he stayed with her in a foster home for awhile, but when it seemed clear the only kid the family cared about was Baby Emma, he and some others ran off. August says he left, he went far away, he began to forget everything until the pains started. The pains started at the exact moment Emma decided to stay in Storybook, the exact moment time began to pass again on the clock. August said he was reminded how far he had strayed from his promise to look after her. He then began making his way back as well. Emma basically thought he was insane, she can’t believe he thinks he’s a fairytale character. August knew how to prove it, he showed her his leg, which had turned back to wood. However Emma saw nothing but a regular leg. August believed it was because she was in such deep denial . . . .
So I’m having an issue with all of this. We have been told in the past few episodes that our world is a world without magic. If this is the case, how is he turning back into a wooden puppet? Emma didn’t see his leg . . . so is this just August’s own guilt eating at him? Is he the one seeing things?
Henry lashed out at Regina when she wanted to pull him out of Mary Margaret’s class. Mary Margaret also had her own speech to Regina, claiming she felt sorry for her because her anger and revenge schemes won’t make her truly happy. Regina then set her sights on David/Charming. She decided to try and seduce him and win him away from Mary Margaret to make her pay, and show Henry that Snow and Charming would not get their happy ever after. It didn’t work, David didn’t go there . . .
The end of the show had Emma picking up Henry and deciding to just flee Storybrook with him. They would start life over somewhere else . . .
There is only one episode left before the finale. Supposedly there is a shocking death in the finale, one that might not be so permanent. The previews show Emma holding a sword to Regina’s throat. Will Regina die? We also have the return of the Huntsman, Belle and Maleficent to look forward to! It’s gonna get insane . . . and we still don’t know who or where Rumple’s son is.
Last night had an amazing twist on “The Secret Circle.” Just like “Ringer,” I REALLY hope the CW renews this show!
I’m absolutely heart broken that the show killed off Jane, and in the way they did. It definitely makes you realize Blackwell isn’t a good guy. Sure he hated Jane, but he could have saved her if he really wanted. Then again, they were about to kill him. However Jane was going to spare him when she realized he didn’t kill Amelia, and it was Charles who torched him (but really Jane because Blackwell reversed the spell) in order to save his own ass . . . he clearly didn’t want it known he killed Amelia!
The circle has been gathering all the crystals . . . but for what purpose? Blackwell has them thinking it’s the only way to kill the witch hunters, but Charles and Dawn seem to think that Blackwell is only using the new circle like he used theirs. Dawn has still been trying to get her powers back, but Charles was finally out. After finding out that Blackwell was Diana’s biological father, he planned to take her far away. Dawn thought that still wouldn’t keep her safe, they were still a bound circle! She said John Blackwell would find him.
The circle cornered the “traitor” at some amusement park, where he had killed many of the witch hunters. Cassie and Diana chased him down, while the others found his hide out. Jake noted that the traitor had a photo of his parents . . . why? As Cassie and Diana cornered the traitor they realized it was Nick!
So the big question is, is Nick really alive? HE was not killed in the books, this was a “twist” for the show, and the writers made it sound like it was for real when it happened. Is Nick just a zombie, someone being controlled by Eban?
Also in this episode Adam began to have feelings for Cassie once again. This could eventually undo all Blackwell has done!
Detailed spoilers below for the next 4 episodes! Look for the return of Susan Lucci, and for her scheming to be revealed! Also a man who claims to be David’s biological father!
A bunch of spoilers below for ABC’s shows in May, including season finales and series finales in the case of “Desperate Housewives.”
Both “Once Upon A Time” and “Grey’s Anatomy” are said to having shocking deaths in their season finales. In the case of “Grey’s” it’s not only a major character, but a permanent death. I’m going to guess it will be Adele.
On “Castle” Beckett gets close to learning who shot her, while Castle realizes he may have to come clean with her about his own deception.
On “Private Practice” Amelia goes into labor on the season finale, while Addison must once again make a difficult choice.
On “Revenge” and explosive finale leaves many lives in the balance!
Info : Please, resolve the addition below before post any new comment...
Dustin : I agree, they are gonna have to kill CJ for it to be a shock, but I don't think they will
Guest_3468 : Found army wives ending really blah, been done too many times by them especially with that character
Dustin : About to sit down and watch the Army Wives! They return June 24th, long ways away
Dustin : Gunna write a post this weekend about which shows I'm looking forward to this fall! I'll try and add in all the promo videos for each as well.
Guest_3468 : This just might put me off the show for good, can't believe it was her, Shonda sucks, crappy addison sam obsession and now this
Dustin : I have some major issues with this one, as . . . . well I'll save it for after the show with my write up
Jay : So sad!
Dustin : Well this sucks!
Dustin : No it's been said its a real and permanent death, so I don't think it's one of the people whose contracts were up in the air. I heard they all would be in positions to stay or leave by the end of the season and that's how they'd be written out if they left
Guest_4669 : I heard that Shonda wrote the finale before contracts were resigned, so I'm not sure if there will be a clear answer tonight as to who dies. I think that there will be a lot of potential victims. I know this sounds morose, but I'd like to see someone come out of the accident with long lasting injuries. With the exception of PTSD (and other mental problems) it seems like people on this show bounce back from injuries too quick.
Guest_3699 : After watching the 6 min preview I'm wondering if they aren't going to do someone stupid like the captain of the plane.
Dustin : I hate that they failed April too. So lame!
Guest_4669 : I don't want Adele to die, but I think that will be too easy. I'm still angry over April failing, but will wait to comment on your thoughts to voice that opinion. (This is the only GA board I comment on so I have been holding onto these thoughts for a few weeks ha ha.)
Dustin : Though I also think there is a possibily the plane crash is a fake out, and it's still Adele who dies
Dustin : I think Arizona or Mark is gunna kick the bucket. I am thinking it will be Arizona, as then who will Lexie have?
Guest_4669 : Hey Dustin - any predictions for the Grey's Finale?
Dustin : I'll get my Once Thoughts up tonight. Have a draft. But now I'm off to see Dark Shadows My main questions really are about the haze, and also when the heck did Regina figure out who Emma was? This episode?
Dustin : I didn't think the queen looked that happy? I'm gonna have to watch it again. I am also not certain when Regina figured out who Emma was? Was it in this episode?
Guest_1607 : Like how they ended Housewives but hated the whole ghost thing.
Dustin : I'll get thoughts on both finales up a little later.
Guest_2158 : I think the purple haze is going to bring magic to storybrooke, hence the reason Gold wanted the love potion and the Queen looked happy/devious when she saw it.
Sean : I think DH went out on a very high note. The stories coming out about Terri and her bitchiness are really piling up.
Sean : Once was great tonight and really satisfying and tied up most story lines and set the tone for next season.
Sean : I only watched Once (LUV IT) and I would have dropped Grimm if it had been on any other night but enjoy it now, the second half was very strong. I gave up (mostly) on Network shows because they have such a high mortality rate. I'll commit to Cable and Premium shows because they usually go for 3 season minimum and although a shorter season they air all the eps in a row. Besides, with network shows only doing 20 -22 thats not much more than the 13 of cable et all.
Dustin : I wanna slap Tom, even in the finale.
Dustin : Wow what do we think the Purple Haze does? Make them high lol
Dustin : Last Housewives tonight! Gunna be sad Finale Once for the year too!
CGinCA : Dustin, I too had bad luck this year on new shows to get hooked on. And a few of the shows that I tried one or two episodes and gave up on as being short lived are returning..... Not fair.
Guest_1633 : Me too on circle and GCB. I really like both of those shows.
Dustin : I'm still upset about Circle and GCB! I am glad Body of Proof is coming back though
Guest_3468 : Ringer really made it too confusing for people to stay tuned in I was surprised at The Secret Circle, I thought it would make it after it's surges at the end
Guest_3750 : So sad about Ringer and GCB!
Julie : I can't believe they cancelled Ringer! I loved that show!
Dustin : I think every new show I picked up save for Grimm and Once has gotten canceled! This SUCKS!
Dustin : A lot of people suspect Arizona, because that paves the way for Karev to take over Pedes
