Brothers and Sisters: Most Aggravating Episode Ever?
Last night’s episode of “Brothers and Sisters” was tense, frustrating, aggravating and infuriating! I don’t think I’ve ever watched an episode that upset me as much as last night’s did.
First let’s get the boring story out of the way, Kitty and Robert’s plotline. Back to the doctor they went, who wanted to try harvesting more eggs from Kitty, but wanted to take a month off to let her body rest. Robert and Kitty decided to use that month, and her 48 hour fertile period, to have as much sex as possible and try things the old fashion way. Zzzzzzzzz.
Justin tried to avoid Rebecca like the plague and confided in Kevin about Rebecca and that for the moment there that she might not have been their sister, well he started having feelings for her. Kevin told him she was their sister and to stay away from her. Okay I find it somewhat odd that his first thoughts were basically “Wow your not my sister, so I can bang you now.” Ewwwwww! She was most likely your sister a minute ago and you weren’t thinking that! It’s like these feelings came out of no where. When Rebecca confronted him on being weird, he told her the truth. Upset, she ran off. Poor Justin thought he had repulsed her.
Rebecca and Holly had it out in this episode. Holly was moaning about David leaving and she never saw it coming. Rebecca unleashed holy hell on her mother, telling her she knew the truth, that David was her father. Holly then deduced Rebecca sent him away, but Rebecca said he left because he knew she loved the Walkers and it would make things more difficult. Holly got sick of the Walkers being thrown in her face and the way Rebecca treated her. Rebecca told her off, how they were more a family to her in a short year and Nora more a mother! Holly then ranted on and on about how she raised her on her own, she struggled and worked as a single mother. Rebecca shot back that she let William die thinking she was his daughter, she took all that money William left her in the will. Holly felt it was their money and they deserved it after what she has struggled through, unlike Nora who fell into money. Holly then told Rebecca she wouldn’t be treated like this anymore and kicked her out! Okay I have to say, Holly has some nerve! She struggled and worked to raise Rebecca? Seems to me William set her up in that house and gave her money! Poor Holly! Her playing the single mother and victim card didn’t work on me at all, it’s only made me see she’s still a beyotch!
Rebecca returned to Justin, who apologized and said he was over those weird feelings. She told him the truth, she’s not his sister. He then let her have it, saying she was a liar just like her mother! Uhg, why why why? I didn’t get Justin at all in this episode. At the end of the episode, Justin told Nora the truth about Rebecca.
Sarah, annoying me to no end, decided to cover for Saul and take the blame for his mistake. This meant she took crap from her mom, Kevin and Tommy, who you could see was probably secretly loving it because he always felt he should be running Ojai. I thought we’d have to put up with this forever, but fortunately Saul came forward to Nora, who of course told everyone. Nora apologized, but I wanted to see Tommy doing so! His smugness lately has irked me. Nora then had the idea to turn to Tommy and Holly’s orchard to save Ojai.
Tommy of course wanted to save the business, but Holly had reservations and told him to put the blame on her for saying no. She felt they were an upstart, they would go down with Ojai. Then however she came up with a plan that would work, a merger of the companies. Tommy would be co-president of Ojai with Sarah and in case they couldn’t agree, the new CEO Holly would break the tie. Sarah felt railroaded, but Nora pushed her to do it to save the company. I have to say Holly seems to be getting everything she wanted doesn’t she? Now she’s fricken CEO of Ojai and Tommy gets back in. Not liking this one bit at all. I have a feeling Sarah will be ousted or quit pretty soon! Sarah also seemingly gave Graham the boot at the end of the episode, using business speak saying it was time to go their separate ways and break off talks. Looks like we may have seen the last of him.
Saul went and got himself good and drunk and drove into a tree. He called Kevin to bail him out from the police station. He finally came out to Kevin saying he was a gay man, but he didn’t know how to be a gay man, and he wanted his entire life back . . . all those waisted years. Kevin then went home to Scotty and proposed for real, saying he realized how lucky he was to have Scotty while the rest of his family was falling apart, and he didn’t want to be like Saul looking back wanting lost years back. Scotty of course accepted. I’m shedding a tear for what could have been with Jason. *Sniff Sniff*

So with you on this one. Holly needs to be taken down a peg or 10 and then in the right spot. She may not have had a husband with her while she was raising Rebecca, but she sure as hell didn’t struggle the way she wants everyone to believe she did. And when William died, she came out smelling like a hot house rose.
I will say that I hope Robert and Kitty get pregnant on their own - it would simplify a lot.
Tommy has been a total prig recently. Its like he thinks is stuff doesn’t stink since he cheated on his wife with someone in his office, didn’t get sued for harassment, a disease, or slammed by his boss… and oy, btw… my beautiful family came back to me. Is is so jealous of Sarah running Ojai that he couldn’t see Holly’s plan for the farce that we all know it is??? She just wants to run the whole damn ship. They’ll all be lucky if they have jobs by the end of next year.
I’ll bet whatever Sarah finds is in those boxes that Nora dragged out to find a way to help. She confuses me. She never seemed to be all that involved in the business, but she sure as heck gets involved when there is a big decision to make!
As for Jason and Rebecca…. I see why they went there with his reaction. Before they revealed she was a Walker I think he had some interest in her “as a girl”. Then the big reveal happened and it got dropped. Is she or isn’t she and now he wonders again. But the crux of it is their whole relationshp has been based on trust and with some really big things - his drug use in particular. That honestly in their relationship is the whole reason he was honest with her about what he was feeling and made us all go ewwww to begin with. For her to have lied to him about this one would have been pretty much the ultimate betrayal at this point I think.
Saul. All I can say for him is Mid Life Crisis.
Kevin finally got it right… funny how sometimes it just takes the smallest thing to make us see the most important.

I actually really enjoyed this episode, except for the Robert and Kitty storyline which is a complete snooze fest.

Holly only seemed to want to help Ohai after Rebecca’s paternity was revealed- Clearly she wants to insinuate herself so deeply into the family/business that they won’t be able to kick her out when the truth comes out.
Yay Kevin and Scotty! So sweet! I actually like this couple.
Yeah- agree Tommy’s holier than thou attitude is unfounded.

Also was booing Justin’s reaction to Rebecca- surely when he thinks about it he will understand why she did it.

The only good part of Kitty/Mr. Gonna Be President was his comment to her to stay where she was and marinate. That was a pretty good line.

Now for the rest of my post. (I started typing and realized I hadn’t watched the full ep yet!)
Justin and Rebecca will work this out. I still think she needs to take a Walker break first, though. And they need time to get over the “sister” thing. But I agree that Justin’s reaction was odd. I guess I can understand the addict/trust thing, but it still felt off.
Rebecca having it out with Holly was OK. But as for struggling single mother — puh-lease. She made choices. She knew there was a possibility that David could be the father yet she CHOSE to cling to William and let him think what he wanted. And it worked, huh? She got gobs of $$ in the end, and now she’s got a nice, firm grip on the empire William built.
I am shocked that Nora trusted Holly at all. Hello?! What’s she thinking?? Must’ve been desperate to not lose her income so she can keep lurking around and sticking her nose into her kids’ business. God knows a job would seriously limit her crisis management time.
Sarah was rather pathetic, IMHO. If you’ve got what it takes to be a president, then act like one and find a solution. Seriously — she copped out on this one. And I am QUITE sick of the pouty face.
Now, I’m not sure I’m sold on Kevin/Scotty. It was sort of sweet and all, but they didn’t have me at that point. Kevin has given no indications that he really knows what he wants in life other than to be a lawyer. This isn’t feeling right — and I think Scotty is going to get hurt. Again.
Is it Sunday yet? I’m ready to see a better episode.

I thought Justin’s reaction was totally appropriate. I was furious with Rebecca when she decided to lie to stay part of the family. The Walker’s have been so good to her and have taken her in and accepted her. And now, she decides to deceive them like this? Very much something like Holly would do. I think Justin felt very betrayed. He just opened up to her and was completely honest even though it was a hard thing to admit, and then he finds out she has been lying to him about something this huge.

I’m going out on a limb and saying the secret Sarah finds out and she and Kevin tell Nora is that William was making preperations to leave her for Holly!

Spoiler or id this your gut feeling? The ONLY way I can go there is if what Holly ended up w/ was suppsed to end up in a trust of some form for Rebecca and they can somehow make that happen at this point.

If that is the secret why would they tell Nora about it? Why is that something she would need to know? Wouldn’t it be better to just keep that to themselves?
