Ausiello posted that Jessalyn Gilsig will return to “Heroes” for five episodes next season as Claire’s pyro-powered birth mother.
Kristin at E! got a few more scoops from the “Heroes” stars themselves at an NBC party during the Upfronts. Maya’s character has some sexy stuff going on this season, hinting at a possible love story with Surresh.
The cliffhanger endings to each episode that made the first season “must see TV” will be back for the third season.
Mama Petrelli is going to be a very confused person next season, teetering between good and evil.
At the end of “Ugly Betty’s” first season, Broadway, TV and film star Kristin Chenoweth appeared as Betty’s singing orthodontic tech. Soon the cast was talking that the show wanted to do an entire musical episode where everyone would sing. It never came to pass in the second season, possibly due to the writers strike, but it seems the show still wants to do a musical episode. Not only that, Michael Urie (Mark) told a British radio station that the show actually wants to do an actual Broadway musical based on the television show.
There have also been rumors floating around that Marc Cherry wants to take “Desperate Housewives” to Broadway at some point.
First up, my apologies if you’ve had trouble connecting to the site, or it’s been abysmally slow. My server has been progressively going downhill the past few months. Within the past week I’ve been unable to connect several times and that was the last straw for me.
I’m currently narrowing down the search for new servers to move this and some of my other pages to. I hope to open a new account on one by the end of the week and begin moving all my sites this weekend. This should improve the speed of the site as well as eliminate downtime. I’ll make another post before I’m moving, as when you switch hosts there is always a lag between the switchover. Plus other issues often show up, such as broken images and what not. I’m hoping to fix most of those behind the scenes before initiating the final server switch.
-Dustin
PS Thanks to server issues, the blog comments forms all got broken. This should be fixed now! (Just another reason why I need to switch servers!)
I know many people watched this last season. I tried but once again it conflicted with something else and I kept forgetting to watch. At least 2 of my chatroom buds watch and love this show and keep telling me I need to. Does anyone out there watch it? Any interest in me adding it to the blog?
The new season starts June 8th. Unfortunately the first season hits DVD on June 10th. I may start Tivo’ing the 2nd season and do a DVD marathon to catch up with the first season as quickly as possible. I can probably get the first season watched in one week since it’s only 13 episodes.

Post Update: It looks like next Saturday, June 7th, Lifetime is doing an all day Marathon of Season 1!
The show opened with Meredith talking to Dr. Wyatt about her mom’s suicide. She did in fact try and kill herself over The Chief. She slit her wrists in front of Meredith and told her not to call the hospital, she wanted to die. Meredith waited for her mom to pass out before calling for help. Wyatt thought she must still be angry with her mom, but she wasn’t. She was angry with someone else . . . The Chief!
Derek made the decision to sell the land he bought where he had planned to build his dream house. He decided to just get a place in town. Yeah, this isn’t the actions of a happy man at all. Danger Will Robinson, danger! Derek needs to open his eyes and realize he needs to be with Meredith.
Derek and Meredith got two new patients this week, a boy named Jeremy and girl named Liz, who met in a support group over their tumors and of course fell in love. Liz’s parents were against this because they were afraid of the heartbreak if one of them died.
Rose told Meredith that Derek was planning on selling the land he bought, and she told Meredith that she’s intimidated by her and the legend that is Mer-Der around the hospital. Meredith claimed there was no legend and she had nothing to be worried about. Frankly this should be the sign to Rose that she needs to get the hell out of this relationship with Derek as clearly he’s still in love with the ex and the ex with him!
The Chief warned Meredith that the IRB board overseeing clinical trials was going to shut hers down if one more patient died, she had one last shot! Of course she and Derek had two patients, and Jeremy was up first as he went into seizures. Before he went into surgery, Derek and Meredith snuck Liz into his room to see him so they could get it on. You know this wasn’t a good sign as it was the final tryst before death basically. Derek joked that he felt like a pimp, he never actually arranged for to get a patient laid before. Funny, but given they use closets and on-call rooms as hotel rooms for quickies, why should he really find it all that odd?
Meredith continued her sessions with Dr. Wyatt. Meredith admitted it was The Chief she was angry at. Dr. Wyatt pointed out to Meredith that her mother didn’t want to die, no matter what she said. Meredith didn’t understand, and Wyatt wouldn’t help her figure it out. She told Meredith this was her puzzle to solve. I really have gotten to love Dr. Wyatt and hope they keep her for next season. It struck me that they really don’t have a psych doctor on this show!
Derek and Meredith Jeremy in the OR. In spite of that, Liz insisted she still have the surgery. Meredith then talked Derek, who didn’t want to kill one more patient, into doing this. As it turned out, Derek felt he had let Meredith down in all of this, that he had failed her. Uh huh, so not over the Mer-Mer! He made that slip to Rose, who basically could probably see the writing on the wall at that point.
Derek finally agreed to do the surgery on Liz, and she made it through but was unconscious afterwards. They had no idea if it worked. The Chief confronted Meredith for convincing Derek to do it when she knew she was to be shut down. Meredith finally let The Chief have it, telling him about her mom’s suicide attempt. He had no idea. She said her mom was an extraordinary and gifted surgeon; all she wanted was to be loved. Then something clicked. She went to see Wyatt and told her she got it, that if her mom wanted to kill herself she would have cut her carotid artery and bleed out immediately, her mom didn’t want to die really. She also realized when her mother told her to be extraordinary that she wasn’t talking about being a surgeon.
Liz meanwhile pulled through and woke up as Derek was with her. He realized they had done it, and he had to tell Meredith the good news. Meredith meanwhile was looking at the CT scans of Liz and saw her tumor had decreased, the treatment was working. Rose, who was with her, told Meredith she had to go tell Derek. I think this was the final realization for Rose it was basically over for her and McDreamy.
Rebecca seemed almost in a vegetative state this week, and in spite of Izzie protesting to Alex that something was wrong, he insisted she was fine and he could handle it.
Rebecca eventually broke down, not understanding how she could have thought she was pregnant when she wasn’t. She even said she’s sure she was pregnant and lost it. Alex had to rush her to the hospital when she fell and supposedly cut herself. Izzie however wasn’t convinced it was an accident at all. She decided since Rebecca was her patient, she was holding her for a psych consult. Alex told her to mind her own business and called her a stupid bitch! OH NO he did NOT! She then told Alex if he even tried to take her from the hospital that she’d have him arrested. Go Izzie! I love that she’s finally found her lost backbone and is standing up to everyone. Alex needs to be taken down a few levels too.
Alex broke down and told Izzie he could handle this, he did it with his mom and could get Rebecca through it too. Izzie realized Alex had done this before. Now it’s all starting to make sense. Clearly he’s projecting his mother’s issues onto Rebecca. I also wonder how much of his woman problems have to do with his mother issues. Oy! I’m sounding like Freud here!
Alex finally faced the music and told Rebecca that she had a bipolar personality disorder, most likely brought on about by both the accident and her new face. He said it was probably coming on for awhile really. It looks like this is the end of the road for Rebecca, who will probably be hospitalized and not seen anymore, or anytime soon. The actress has a new show on ABC next season anyway.
Callie and Mark continued their on-call room sex. Hilariously Mark kept going on and on about Erica as they were doing it, trying to get her to imagine Erica was there with them! This unfortunately got her turned on more than him, and he started to see it. I was actually stunned by how graphic their talk got.
The big trauma even during this episode was a young man named Andrew trapped in a block of cement. It seems he was dared to jump into some quick drying cement by his “friends.” Actually they weren’t his friends, and he only did it to impress a girl, Lola. Callie was furious with them and wondered how long they waited to call the cops for help? How long after he started screaming he was unable to move did they wait to get help? They said nothing, which gave them away. All I know is Callie should have called the cops herself! I don’t know how they could have been charged, but I’m sure there is some kind of neglect charge that could have been filed against these asshat kids. The way they sat in that waiting room laughing through the episode infuriated me to no end.
Mark, Hahn, Callie and others started arguing over what to do for the kid and how to treat him. The Chief had to tell them all they were basically running out of time here, they probably had at most four hours left to get him out and save him before he died. Bailey meanwhile spent this episode looking for the bigger picture in everything, and felt they were missing something with the way they were treating the boy. It finally clicked, they had been hydrating him the whole time, and it had not place to go . . . his bladder would explode!
Meanwhile Callie went to see Lola about Andrew. She wanted her to sit with him, hold his hand as he was scared. Lola was too afraid of what her friends would think. Callie realized she liked this boy back but was afraid of the stigma from her friends. It was pretty obvious that this story was a metaphor for what Callie was going through with her conflicted feelings for Erica, afraid to come out because of what others might think. In the end Lola went to sit with the Andrew, who survived the whole cement-trauma, and they kissed.
Before Andrew was saved however, there was an issue in the OR. Erica was no where to be found and something needed to be done with his heart. The Chief convinced Yang to do it and talked her through it. When Erica showed up she was angry she was not paged and told Yang that there was a better way to do what she was doing. She demanded to take over, but Christina yelled at her that she had it! The Chief then sided with Yang, telling Erica that she had started it and would finish it. Booyah! It’s about time Christina stood up for herself to Erica! I had been waiting for that scene since the minute Erica showed up.
Mark later talked with Callie. He had finally realized that Callie liked Erica, liked her a lot more than she liked him. He basically told her in so few words to go for it if that is what made her happy and turned her on.
The Chief meanwhile talked with Erica Hahn, saying she should be proud that Yang flew solo in there, it would mean she had did her job as a teacher. Hah, she didn’t do squat and she and The Chief both knew it! The Chief then told her she had to learn to teach without crushing student’s spirits, and if she wanted to stay in his hospital she better become a better teacher. Oh yeah, finally she gets told off for the way she’s been treating Christina. I’m not the biggest fan of Christina’s, but Erica has annoyed me since she showed up with the way she has blown Christina off.
George found with his position as The Chief’s intern, he had access to files in The Chief’s office, files on everyone. He told Lexie this, and Lexie snuck in to read the files. She has a photo graphic memory, so she remembered everything about everyone! She told George that she read all the letters of recommendation for him and his friends, and he had the most letters and his were far better than anyone else’s. She also told him that he failed the intern exam by one point! ONE FRICKEN POINT! Are you kidding me? I cannot believe this all came down to one point! George said he’d been busting his ass to prove himself around here only to find out that it was one point that separated him from the rest, not something like fifty. He was not happy and not happy that Lexie told him this. I have to say I’d be obsessing over that till the day I died!
George finally confronted The Chief, saying he knows he failed his exams, but deserved a second chance. He said everyone around here, in his class, had gotten second chances, but not him. The Chief agreed to let George take his exams again. Yes! I so hope he passes them, because I’ve hated this whole storyline with George.
The show ended with a series of kisses, none of which I found to be shocking or surprising as we were told in the spoilers.
Bailey came to the realization she couldn’t do it all, she had to give something up, so she gave Izzie the clinic. Izzie went home where Alex was breaking down, and they ended up smooching.
Callie went to talk to Hahn, on Mark’s insistence. He watched as Callie pulled Erica into a major lesbian lip lock! Wow I wonder what Mark was thinking at that moment?
Richard went to see Adele and told her he was a good man, he had made mistakes, but he was a good man. He realized he had been a good man for everyone but her, but as her husband he loved her and wanted to come home. He said it wasn’t a request, but an order. She said it was about time and pulled him into a kiss. Okay, did anyone find this totally caveman and offensive on all fronts?
George returned home and told Lexie he was going to retake his test and it was all thanks to her. He gave her a quick peck on the lips and ran off. Clearly this is the start of whatever is going to happen next season! However I do not want to end up seeing some imitation Mer-Der with them, with George passing his exams and Lexie being his intern.
Finally Meredith set up a candle-lit house pattern on the hilltop land Derek had bought and was planning to sell. She told him how this was to be there house, she pointed out where their kids’ rooms would be. Derek wondered where the bedroom was? She had realized that apart they were ordinary, together they were extraordinary, and this is what her mother was telling her. They kissed, but Derek said before they went any further he’d have to break it off with Rose so he had a clear conscience. Ohhhhhhhh no! Why do I see Rose ending up knocked up next season?
I don’t know, aside from the George stuff and Christina finally standing up to Hahn, there wasn’t all that many shocks and surprises for me. Usually Grey’s ends on some insane cliff hanger that makes you curse the networks for having to wait till the fall to see what happened. On one hand I’m glad they didn’t do that again, especially after the writers strike issues; but on the other that was what I was expecting to see.
With this past Thursday night, my TV season is pretty much over I’m afraid. “Grey’s” was the last season finale of my main serials. (BTW I’m working on the recap/thoughts on Grey’s now).
Once again we are about to enter a Summer of reality TV mostly. There is a bunch of stuff I plan on watching. Right now I’m actually watching “Workout” on Bravo, but haven’t had the time to comment on those dysfunctional trainers. I always wonder every time I go to my gym if they are like the people on that show? Also on Bravo I plan to watch “Shear Genius 2,” and “Kathy Griffen: My Life on the D List.”
On CBS there is of course “Big Brother 10” to watch. I might give “Swingtown” a shot mainly because it’s gotten a lot of controversial hype.
NBC will once again be showing “America’s Got Talent.” I’ll tune in, but often I get bored with this show. I also want to see “Celebrity Circus” because the premise is like the old “Circus of the Stars” TV show.
VH1 is supposed to show Margaret Cho’s “The Cho Show” at some point this summer. That’s going to be a must watch for me!
Finally “Weeds” returns on Showtime. Last season started off too dark and boring for me, but by the end of the season it had gotten good. This time Nancy and her family are said to be living near the border of Mexico, after having to flee Agrestic.
I’m sure I’m forgetting some stuff of course. Anything you all plan on tuning in for?
The season finale opened with a flashback of Betty playing dodge ball back in high school as an example of why she doesn’t do sports and didn’t want to play in the upcoming Mode charity softball tournament. In the flashback Lindsay Lohan played a mean girl in high school who picked on Betty. Before it even seemed to start the flashback was over. All I have to say was that was the big hyped appearance by Lohan? Yes she’s going to return next season, but next season seems so far away right now. I thought there would be more of her in this episode than that!
The first issue of Hot Flash came out, and Betty was upset to find out her article didn’t make it. Claire told her that she liked it, but it was just too safe. She wanted to know what Betty wanted to do in life. Betty said she wanted to own her own magazine like her. Claire told her to do that she needed to stop playing things so safe and take a risk. I have to say I love that Judith Light has been given a bigger role on this show and I hope it continues to stay that way. You can totally see her eventually trying to pair Daniel and Betty up at some point down the road.
A little French boy showed up at Mode while Daniel, Willy and Alexis met with some Dutch woman. She was a major advertiser or designer or something. Daniel had all these charts made to impress her, but she seemed bored and confused. It was Willy to the rescue again when she said Mode would donate their proceeds of their charity softball game to a children’s charity that the woman regularly donates too.
Meanwhile the French boy found Daniel, and Daniel found a translator as the kid didn’t speak English. It seems the French boy was on a class trip and snuck away. The boy’s mom was a model Daniel had a fling with back in Paris. Well off course she ended up pregnant and has recently died. He came searching for his father, who of course is Daniel!
Gio helped Betty practice softball so she could play in the tournament. He then sprung a huge surprise on her. He was planning to go to Rome for a month and wanted her to go with him. Because Claire told her she had to take risks, she agreed!
Betty was shocked when she learned about Daniel’s son, whose name is Daniel Jr of course, but Daniel was sure this was a trick. Either it was a con or it was Willy up to her old games. Willy however claimed she did not do this, and thought it was a gift from God that she could use to further shove Daniel out of Mode. They got a blood test to see if the boy was his, but wouldn’t know for weeks. Daniel gave him the cold shoulder still thinking this wasn’t true, so Willy scooped in and asked him to come to dinner with her.
Betty told her dad and Hilda about her trip to Rome. The dad didn’t like the idea, until Henry showed up out of the blue and asked Betty to marry him! He said he could get her a job at a magazine writing in Tuscon, he wanted her to come back with him as his fiance. Not exactly the most romantic proposal in the world if you ask me. Oh and what are the living arrangements going to be? That should have been brought up, because if this is some “Three’s Company” arrangement then Henry can shove his ring where the son don’t shine!
Daniel was shocked when he saw Daniel Jr on the news apparently picking through dumpsters to find food while Daniel was out partying with models. This made him and Mode look bad. Alexis was furious as the Dutch woman pulled out of their contract because she saw this. She said the only way to save this was for Daniel to keep a low profile and take a leave of absence. Daniel reminded her that he was the one who stood by her when almost all the advertisers bailed on them when she came out as a tranny. She apparently didn’t care, as she said she had learned from that experience and now she was in charge! She then walked off. I was so angry that Alexis did this! She knows what it felt like to be stabbed in the back by their father, and Daniel was the one who accepted her first. She’s really going to be sorry when the day comes that Willy turns on her and Daniel isn’t there!
Later Daniel read a letter that Daniel Jr’s mom gave him upon her death, naming him as her father and wanting Daniel Jr to seek him out. Daniel realized the boy was in fact his son, he didn’t need to wait for the blood test to come back. Oh dear, famous last words? Something about that bothered me. I wonder if this will turn out to be a con in the end after all?
Hilda meanwhile decided to take a chance with Coach Diaz in this episode, only to find out he was married! He gave her the story about how they were separated, on and off again, but he had to tell her and that he felt he was falling for her. Slime! She was furious and stormed off on him.
Willy successfully talked the Dutch woman into returning, then did some major sucking up to Alexis. She said it’s easier getting things done around here without Daniel. She reminded Alexis of their original plan to take over, and perhaps she should find a different position for Daniel. I expected this from Willy, but not Alexis! Alexis looked conflicted over doing this to Daniel, but she didn’t exactly stand up for him either. She knows Willy’s games and should have figured it out that this was one of them!
The softball game finally began. It was Elle versus Mode, and Noami Campbell was on Elle’s team. When she took a call on her cell, everyone ducked like she was going to throw it at them. Hilarious!
Daniel brought his son to the game, and Daniel Jr made a comment about Mark being funny. Daniel soon figured out Willy and Mark were the ones who made him look bad in the press. Willy admitted it, then told him she was the new editor in chief at Mode! Daniel couldn’t believe Alexis did this too him. He argued with Alexis, as Claire watched and was furious herself. He and his son then walked off, Daniel didn’t even play in the game.
Gio and Henry both showed up at the game to be with Betty, and they soon found out about the other’s proposals. Betty had a big choice to make. Go to Rome with Gio or marry Henry?
The show ended with Madonna’s “Jump” playing, which was also the name of this episode. Coincidentally the music through the entire episode was from Madonna’s new “Hard Candy” CD. Anyway, the song and episode title referred to all the decisions having to be made by the characters at the end of the show.
Hilda was trying to decide what to do given she’d already lost love once, and she ended up going to married Coach Diaz and they kissed.
Mode won the game and while everyone partied and praised Willy for helping them win, while Claire gave Alexis the evil eye. Daniel meanwhile packed his office and left with his son.
Betty packed a suitcase and left her house, and the show ended with her on her front porch. Which plane will Betty get on? The one to Tucson or the one to Rome? We now have to wait till next season to find out!
Personally I’m hoping Betty goes with Gio at this point. I suspect she will, because obviously if she married Henry she moves out of New York and the show ends! I bet the show will pick up with her just getting back from Rome with Gio.
I’m not sold on Daniel Jr really being Daniel’s son, they could really throw a curve-ball in next season and say he wasn’t, that the blood tests came back. I would like to see Daniel at this point join a rival magazine or start his own up within the company like Claire did and compete with Mode. A men’s fashion magazine maybe?
I’m surprised Christina wasn’t in this episode, as that would have been a good way to stir up more drama. At this point I think she has to have figured out what Willy did to get her hands on Bradford’s swimmers.

Last night was the two hour finale of “Dancing With The Stars.” If you were like many people and decided to just tune in for the last 5 minutes, you probably saw that Kristi Yamaguchi won. Yay! If you were one of those like me who sat through it all, you had to watch performances from Usher, as well as every single couple being brought back to dance their favorite dances. Zzzzzzzzzzzz just tell me who won already!
Unfortunately tonight “American Idol” is doing the same thing. They have two hours of performances from the final 2, as well as many of the top 12 who are all there. Also thrown in are Fox movie promotions for “The Love Guru.” There were a few noteworthy performers though, such as Donna Summer performing with the girls and Syesha. Anyway, after sitting through it all, the winner was announced!
For those who haven’t seen it yet, I’ll put the winners name below the fold . . . If you can’t wait then read on . . .
