Ugly Betty: Another New Episode!
Spoilers for another new episode airing January 17th
Spoilers for another new episode airing January 17th
With the holidays upon us and the writers strike, there just isn’t much to talk about right now! I imagine I won’t have many posts until the new year when shows start back up.
I did want to point out that tomorrow at 8pm (I think) on Lifetime (or Lifetime Movie Network) is one of my favorite of the more recent Christmas movies. It was made by Lifetime and is called “If You Believe.” It stars Ally Walker (of Profiler fame) and a very very very young and cute Hayden Panettiere (Claire, Heroes). If you haven’t seen it you should tune in, it’s a cute movie.

ABC’s midseason primetime schedule is as follows (all times Eastern; new shows in bold):
So last night’s “PR” was a bit depressing. Because of an infection he had to have treated, Jack had to leave the show. This really sucks as he was doing so well, he may have been able to make it to the final three! I hope they’ll consider bringing him back next season at least. To keep things “fair” they brought Chris back, which made me happy! This challenge was to make a new outfit for ladies who lost a lot of weight, using the materials of their old favorite outfit. Poor Steve got the woman with the wedding dress! First, why would someone offer up their wedding dress to be completely cut up by a designer? Second, the show had to have known the person who got that would have the biggest disadvantage because it was so much lace and beading. Of course Steve ended up going home, but I can’t blame them for sending him home. He didn’t even do anything at all with the woman’s dress! He just made a black dress and put some white trim on it. It looked terrible. Christian won this challenge, though I felt Kevin’s outfit was so much better. Also I’m getting a bit tired of Christian’s 80’s inspired big shoulder pad outfits. Eventually the judges will too, and they’ll start telling him he needs to show them something more. Every season they have one of these designers stuck in their trend that can’t break out (Santino, Laura, Austin Scarlett).
Sorry this is so late, and now it’s been so long I’ve forgotten some of the details! I do remember though that the second part of the two part “Grey’s Anatomy” was just depressing!
Lexie did her best to keep Seth Green’s character from bleeding out, but Sloan was busy with the heart patient and there were no ORs to work on him in. In the end, poor Seth Green kicked the bucket.
Sloan, Callie and Hahn meanwhile worked on the heart patient, who I believe also kicked the bucket! They were depressed and Hahn asked them all out for a drink, finally seemingly bonding with her fellow surgeons.
The one guy in the ambulance survived thanks to Meredith, and she convinced the widow of the other guy to stick around for him, suggesting they might need each other.
Bailey saved the Nazi guy, and stitched him up totally crooked ruining his tattoo. Hilarious! Predictably though her husband got fed up and was ready to leave her. Baily and the husband had poor George running back and forth passing messages between them.
Finally Derrek got his thang on with Rose the nurse, hinting at a future for them. Of course as the show ended Meredith finally got the nerve to tell him she didn’t want him to see other people. He was going to say something, but she made him say nothing. She wanted him to think and talk to her tomorrow.
Now we are ALL left hanging it seems. There is actually ONE more episode, but I don’t know if ABC will air it soon or not. This was such a natural season finale they may not. Also it seems that episode was filmed AFTER the strike began, and Shonda Rhimes has stated to various media outlets she didn’t have any input in that episode (I assume they filmed from the script and nothing got changed or added).
I really got the feeling that had Meredith not shut Derreck up, he was going to tell her it was too late.
By now most have heard that “Journeyman” on NBC is pretty much dead. NBC’s deadline to pick up more episodes came this week and they did not order anymore, which seems to indicate it is toast. Sadly it appears “Bionic Woman” may suffer the same fate. NBC did order more episodes of “Chuck” and “Life.”
Over on ABC, “Big Shots” has three more episodes left to air, but ABC has pulled it. They will show “Private Practice” reruns in its place. Some reports are saying “Big Shots” is over, others are indicating ABC may air those final three episodes in January . . . but the show might then wrap up and may not be renewed.
So this week’s “Dirty Sexy Money” had a few twists and turns!
First, Jeremy finally had to tell his new girlfriend the truth, that he wasn’t an artist. She ended up leaving him, not caring he was rich. She was upset he lied to her. I was hoping they wouldn’t go for the predictable here, but oh well. Jeremy also hung out with Lisa at the gallery in this episode. They smoked some pot, and he kissed her! Uh oh, is this leading to some kind of affair? Lisa was later fired when the pot smell permeated a giant (artistic) sponge. I loved the reaction of the client who came to by it and then refused as it smelled like her pot smoking ex husband!
Juliet met some French guy and wants him to be her “first.” This story I wasn’t paying close attention to, as it was boring me. Why do I get the feeling he’s using her?
Patrick worked on his marriage this week, while Carmelita felt like she was being watched and in danger. Patrick had the limo driver looking after her, but it did no good. The show ended with someone kidnapping Carmelita! My guess is this is Simon’s work, but I’m not sure. I also somewhat suspect Patrick’s wife!
Karen dated Simon this week and even meet his princess of an ex-wife. Literally, she was a princess from some African country! Karen seemed a little turned off by Simon’s till close relationship with her, and it was an odd relationship. They had dinner together and it was just uncomfortable looking. Nick meanwhile seemed to get jealous that Karen was seeing Simon and thought Simon was doing this to hurt Tripp and made him break it off. In the end everyone was being played as Tripp put Karen up to seeing Simon, telling her she wasn’t to get emotionally attached. She said she wasn’t, but is she? Or is she simply doing this to get to Nick as usual?
Finally all of Brian’s ungodliness caught up to him and he was suspended from the church. He thought about his life and how things are going and decided to go work for Tripp at the company. Ironically he’s not Tripp’s biological kid, but of all of the Darlings he’s probably the one that has the nasty killer instinct for the business world.
