Once Upon A Time: Down The Rabbit Hole!
Posted by Dustin on 11.28.2011 at 4:08 pm
So last night on “Once Upon A Time” a giant sinkhole opened up, but in reality it just exposed some old mine shafts. The Mayor was eager to seal them, which made Henry think something important was inside. Perhaps a way to the other side? Henry ran into the mines, followed by his doctor Archie (Jimminy Cricket) and of course they got trapped.
Most of the show detailed the story of Jimminy on the other side, how he went from being a human to a cricket. He was the son of thieves who used him for his entire life to rob people. He wanted them gone, and turned to Rumple, who gave him a potion to use. Unfortunately his parents caught on and used it on some poor unsuspecting couple . . . they were turned into wooden dolls. Jimminy tried to wish on a star and get them turned back, but the fairy who came couldn’t do that. She could free him from his family and allow him to help the child of the couple out. He agreed and became the cricket! The boy of the couple was of course Japetto.
Back in the real world we saw the dolls in Mr. Gold’s shop. Hmmmm, what’s so special about them? Can they be saved? Why show us if they won’t become important to the story at some point.
Emma, who had become the new deputy in town, helped to save Archie and Henry from the mines. Earlier the Mayor had picked up a piece of Glass, which Henry noticed. Is it important? At the end she dropped it back into the mine shaft and we saw a whole bunch of it. My first thought was it was the magic mirror. Could it be something else though?
American Horror Story: Rubber Man Let Down!
Posted by Dustin on 11.27.2011 at 3:10 pm
So this week’s “American Horror Story” . . . groan! I was so upset by the rubber man reveal that I can’t really remember what else happened.
Tate? Tate! Tate has been rubber man all along? What a crock! This was not shocking, as we saw him in the suit on Halloween with Violet. I wanted to be stunned! I felt really let down. It does explain why Constance is so interested in Vivian’s kids though, one or both could be Tate’s.
We did learn Vivian is having twins, and Hayden is trying to convince the doctor’s wife to basically haunt the hell out of Vivian so they can get their hands on the babies, one for each.
By the end of the show Ben had Vivian committed because he felt she was becoming completely unstable.
Blah! I’m still so miffed. I felt they could have really done something shocking.
Parenthood: Screw-Ups Galore!
Posted by Dustin on 11.23.2011 at 2:26 pm
Oh brother, what an episode of “Parenthood” last night. Can these people possible screw up any more at this point? The inevitable happened pretty much on all fronts, so I’m not sure why I was so shocked or surprised.
Crosby and Jasmine grew closer, and Jabar started wondering when they were going to get married. Oh brother, how old is this child. Does he not comprehend his parents aren’t together anymore? Crosby realized he not only screwed things up with Jasmine, but he ruined Jabar’s dream of a family too. In the end though, Jasmine and Crosby got drunk and did the dirty boogie. Oopsie! We knew they’d eventually get back together, but I don’t think they are there yet. Something tells me Jasmine will give him a “we were drunk, it’s a mistake, I’m with Dr. Joe now” speech in the next episode.
Adam has set himself up for a giant law suit because of his stupidity at this point with the new receptionist Rachel they hired (who he shared a drunken kiss with). He told Kristina that she kissed him, and she wanted him to fire her. Of course he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He told her “I love my wife, that can’t happen again or I will fire you.” Way to go Adam! Continue digging the hole your in even further! Kristina learned she was still working there and of course flipped on Adam, wondering if he was attracted to this girl? Adam just continued to dig his own grave. Kristina finally announced she’s going back to work ASAP, she is going to start doing what’s best for her.
Finally Joel and Julia decided to meet Zoe’s boyfriend Troy, to make sure he won’t be a problem with the adoption basically. Oh he was! I have always known this wasn’t going to go smoothly . . . nothing in this show does. Troy wanted an extra thirty grand for Zoe and his troubles, since people pay a lot for babies. Julia told him that was illegal, she could not do that. He basically left their dinner suggesting they think about it, as Zoe realized Troy had screwed everything up for her. She tried to apologize, but based on next week’s previews it seems she tells Zoe the adoption is off. I guess I’m still expecting that at some point in all of this Julia will learn she’s pregnant . . . because since they gave up trying that’s when it often seems to happen.

American Horror Story: Burned Guy and More of Connie’s Kids!
Posted by Dustin on 11.21.2011 at 6:00 pm
So the latest “American Horror Story” focused heavily on Larry and Constance’s back story, while Vivian attempted to get her house sold and learned more of it’s back story.
Vivian held another open house during which two people showed up. One was an Armenian who made a serious offer, the other was Larry the burned guy. When Ben found out about Larry, he was not happy and threatened him. Moira meanwhile took a liking to the other guy and gave it her all to convince him to buy the house, as well as put in a pool in the back yard. She wants her body dug up so she can go free. Unfortunately he would not be buying the house, Constance learned he planned to just knock it down and turn it into condos . . . which meant who knows what would happen to all the ghosts. So they had to take care of him for good.
We actually learned the truth about Larry, and met another of Constance’s kids. Larry lived next door to Constance, never in the house. They were having an affair, and she asked him to kill her deformed son Beau, who lived in the attic. Larry did, and to this day Constance visits him in the attic. She has one more deformed child, but we haven’t met them yet . . . or have we? Is that who is in the basement?
Larry was going to leave his wife for Constance, but she wouldn’t have that. She set their house on fire and killed herself and his two girls, he was burned trying to save them. He’s still in love with her, but she loathes him now. It seems she just uses him when she needs him.
Vivian grew closer to the security guard Luke and fantasized about him while, erm, pleasuring herself. However she also had visions of Ben and the creepy man in the black suit too. Vivian decided to find out the truth about her house and went on the Murder House Tour again. We got the second part of the story to the original inhabitants. The doctor somehow brought their chopped up child back to life, but it was a monster. The mother killed it, killed the doctor and then blew her own brains out . . . all in the house. So what’s in the basement could be the baby, but it looks a lot larger than a baby. By the end Violet had found some photos of the original residents and showed her mom. She of course freaked, because she had seen the doctor’s wife during their first open house! So it seems Vivian now will realize the house is in fact haunted.
This week we will finally find out who is in the black suit! I can’t wait! I’m thinking it might be Constance’s husband? She killed him in the house too.
Private Practice: The Rehab 2 Hour Event
Posted by Dustin on 11.19.2011 at 12:55 pm
So some quick thoughts on the 2-hour rehab event of “Private Practice . . . ” First off, I wish ABC would stop doing these 2-hour events. They are usually 2 shows back to back, not a true 2-hour event. One episode, usually the first, is always so much better than the other. Also sometimes 1 hour is all you can talk of some of these characters!
I loved the story with Cooper, Charlotte and Mason (and Mason’s mom). I’m glad they’ve all worked things out. I’m still not convinced though that something bad isn’t going to happen to them, like Mason’s mom dying suddenly. Did she finally reach out to Cooper because she knows she’s sick?
The Amelia story of course was great. Listening to her tear everyone a new a-hole was somehow cathartic! I was sad that they killed her druggie boyfriend Ryan, but we knew that wasn’t going to end well. They met on drugs, they got engaged in less than a week on drugs . . . yeah even if he lived it wouldn’t have lasted.
Pete and Sam formed the a-hole club in this episode. Violet was helping to support Addison as she was having a tough time with the baby thing. Pete told Sam that Violet was just making Addison her new pet project and she wouldn’t give up until Addison had a baby. Sam finally, after Addison passed out, told her to stop trying. Pete meanwhile confided into Sam that he didn’t want to be married to Violet, but wouldn’t be the guy who leaves . . . . Violet at the same time realized Pete wanted out, but wouldn’t leave just like he wouldn’t leave Anna. She told him that she didn’t want him to hate her like he hated Anna, she would leave if he wanted her to. He did (though he couldn’t even say it) so she packed up and left. Okay . . . .
1) ASSHOLE! COWARD! He couldn’t even tell her to go, or he wanted out. He shook his head and said “I’m sorry.”
2) This entire time we’ve thought Anna was some evil bitch wife, now I’m beginning to think it was Pete who was always the jerk.
3) Why the hell is Violet going to a hotel? That’s her damn house! Send Pete packing!
Seriously, I don’t know why they’ve had to totally destroy Pete’s character. He can have another heart attack and die at this point, I wouldn’t miss him. I got the feeling he didn’t want out, he was pushing her away and leaving because he’s still afraid of dying. He and Sam talked about what his odds of surviving past 10 years after the surgery were, and no matter what Sam told him, Pete seems to have resigned himself to an early death.
Addison’s attempts to get pregnant kept meeting with disaster, and she gave herself one last try before calling it quits. That’s basically how the show ended. With her in the bathroom on Thanksgiving looking at the pregnancy test.
9021 . . . .Oh Why Do I Still Watch You?
Posted by Dustin on 11.16.2011 at 10:35 pm
Believe it or not, I am still watching “90210.” I just usually catch up after it’s aired. Now that it’s on Hulu it’s much easier than waiting 1+ weeks for the CW to post it to their site. It’s been AGES since I wrote about the show, so here are some of my thoughts on the various stories . . . .
Naomi is and continues to be the best part of the show. Annie and Dixon who? I am still saddened to see her and Max break up, but I loved the Halloween episode with Austin’s dad . . . aka Mr. Achey Breaky Heart himself. Well I didn’t so much like that Holly once again took Naomi down . . . she makes Naomi look like a saint. I have high hopes Naomi will eventually have the last laugh on her.
I don’t like what they are doing with Ivy and Raj, and her seemingly growing attraction to Nick. I can see where this entire story is headed, especially with her winning the photo journalism trip with Nick and Raj learning his cancer is healed (and him wanting to go to medical school). The writing is on the wall. They’ll say that the two of them got caught up in the romance of him dying, it was their own little fairytale . . . they never thought what if he lived. Well at least Ivy didn’t . . .
Dixon’s drug habit . . . . why? We went through this with Adrianna not long ago. The only reason I can see for it is to make Adrianna good again, and have her gain her lost friendships back by helping Dixon. Meanwhile Annie whoring herself out to pay for Dixon’s treatment? BARF! She’ll either end up in jail and needing her own financial help, or hooked on drugs to deal with her whoring and end up needing help like Dixon.
Watching Brandy play a politician has been hilarious, but I have liked seeing her play a lying cheating one that will do anything to win. Brandy a bad girl? Who would have thought! Well she claimed the greater good prevailed . . . but that’s how all politicians rationalize playing dirty.
Poor Teddy, this story they’ve given him as a send off I feel has been terrible and a slap in the face. He’s still deep in the closet, even if he has come out to his friends. He’s basically putting himself back in the closet to please his family, and he’s alienating the guy he likes with all his “your political fight isn’t my fight” talk. I hope he gets some kind of happily ever after before they write him off and we never see his character again . . .
Parenthood: Slaps All Around!
Posted by Dustin on 11.16.2011 at 10:18 pm
It’s been a few weeks since I wrote about “Parenthood,” and as usual with show, a lot of people need to be slapped!
The Seth/John Corbett storyline I thought had a touching ending, with him getting out of rehab, staying with Amber, her realizing how hard her mom had it all those years . . . and finally ending with him giving her and Drew a stack of cards for birthdays and holidays he had missed through out the years. Awwww!
I am really feeling for Crosby with this whole Dr. Dan storyline and Jasmine. I loved that he stood up to Dr. Dan about the baseball game, but still feel bad for him. He hasn’t known he was Jabar’s dad for that long, and now he has to contend with super step father wanna be coming in. I was hoping Jasmine would start to see growth in Crosby with this new job, the business and his helping Christina with the baby. But maybe not.
I absolutely loved the latest episode with Joel and Julia dealing with the spoiled monster they created named Sydney . Her tantrum was hysterical, as was Julia sitting outside the bedroom door drinking while listening to her scream her lungs out. I still however don’t hold out much hope for that happy ending with Coffee girls baby 🙁
Adam and Crosby hired a young and sexy new office worker to help them run the studio. She was hit on all fronts, with Crosby, with the clients . . . but it was Adam she liked. At the end of the most recent show, after a few drinks, they shared a brief kiss. He broke it off, and told her that he loved his wife. However the previews seem to show Adam being drawn dangerously too close to her, and admitting the kiss to a very upset Christina. Oh Adam . . . I’m so disappointed in you! This is on par with Tom from “Desperate Housewives!”
Ringer: No Baby, But Gemma Livessssss!
Posted by Dustin on 11.16.2011 at 9:55 pm
So this is just some quick thoughts on “Ringer,” which like everything else has one episode left and then is off air till next year at some point. Seriously TV?
Bridget isn’t pregnant after all, and had to come up with some quick thinking and claimed she had some spotting the week before, but she thought it was normal. This lead to some strain and her pretend husband Andrew. He made a comment that basically the baby was all that was making them work. OUCH!
Charlie continued doing Siobhan’s biddings. We learned he didn’t kill Gemma, he had her captive in his basement! Bridget continued trusting him, even having her old sponsor Malcolm stay with the guy. Fortunately Bridget began to catch onto Charlie’s game, and he warned Siobhan. However things might get sticky as Malcolm is searching Charlie’s house for a gun she gave him to dispose of . . . and is close to finding Gemma. Something tells me Gemma will have company in the basement very soon.
The guy Siobhan had bankrolling her in Paris cut her off. He flew to New York for a business meeting with Andrew and met Siobhan #2, aka Bridget. He thought she was playing games and cut her hotel bill in Paris. Uh oh!
Bridget meanwhile went to Siobhan’s old shrink, she began to realize she was falling in love with Andrew. Well duh, we all figured that one out. She also learned the shrink had prescribed pills to Siobhan (I think that normally treat anxiety?) but she prescribed them for something else (must drugs have multiple uses). Bridget is just starting to realize Siobhan may have been in as much trouble as she is . . . .
