As with last year, Fox is putting out the first half of the “Glee” season on DVD to tide fans over until the show returns post-Superbowl in February. Also as with last year, it appears it’s only on DVD format. Blu Ray versions probably won’t come until the entire season is released, which is what they did with Season 1. The three disc set includes the following episodes . . .
A bunch of ABC spoilers for early January 2010. A ton of guest stars on all the shows. Highlights include . . . .
– Laura Prepon guests as the actress playing Nikki Heat on “Castle” and tags along with Beckett and Castle on a case.
– Rick Shroeder guests on “No Ordinary Family” as a new friend of the Powells who has a secret of his own.
– Another shooting on “Grey’s Anatomy?” This time at a local school.
– Jo Beth Williams retuns as Addison’s mom on “Practice” and needs Addison to save her lesbian lover.
– Leslie Anne Warren is back as Susan’s crazy mom on “Desperate Housewives” and Valerie Harper is her aunt!
– Holly considers moving away on “Brothers and Sisters”
Spoiler blurbs for the first 3 episodes of “V” season 2!
“Red Rain” – “V” will make its highly-anticipated Season Two premiere, TUESDAY, JANUARY 4 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. The Season Two opener, “Red Rain,” continues the action from last season’s finale when Anna unleashed Red Sky on the planet. With the world on the brink of war and chaos all around, is there anyone who can stand up to Anna? Meanwhile, Ryan has been kept in isolation on the mothership, away from his hybrid baby so that Anna can experiment on her; Chad, seeking redemption for being used by Anna, now wants to fight with the Fifth Column; and Erica goes on a journey to find a scientist who can give her the answers to what Red Sky is, and where she learns the horrifying secret of what the V’s are doing on our planet.
“Serpent’s Tooth” – Anna and Diana square off in the dark bowels of the Mothership – Diana has been down there for 15 years and not had a single glimpse of Anna. Meanwhile, Erica has Tyler’s blood analyzed, and learns the V’s did something sinister to her when she was pregnant with him, on “V,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 11 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
“Laid Bare” – Erica learns her partner, Malik, is a Visitor and must fight for her life – literally – to stop Anna from finding out she’s Fifth Column. Meanwhile, Anna learns that Malik is missing and orders Ryan to find her, while Lisa realizes her body is beginning to change, causing her to become more and more like her mother, on “V,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 18 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
So these are my quick thoughts on the latest episode of “Housewives,” which is the last new one until next year.
I hated that Paul tricked Bob and Lee into selling their house to him. Lee was already in hot water with the neighbors for being Paul’s real estate agent as is. I don’t want Bob and Lee to move!
Juanita finally learned the truth about Grace and tried to run away, but caught in a riot that was going on. She hid in Bob and Lee’s car until her mom came to rescue her, and Lynette came to rescue Bob and Lee. It was good to see fences somewhat mended, but you know Juanita is going to be a problem when the show comes back. She’ll have a lot of rage in her I bet!
Susan suggested to Renee and Tom that Renee move away, given her feelings for Tom. She’s of course not going to. I hate this storyline. HATE it. I don’t like that Tom has all these past secrets. He clearly is not the perfect husband that Lynette has felt she didn’t deserve all these years. Maybe that is exactly why they are doing this?
Bree and Keith split up when she wasn’t ready to marry him. That’s when creepy dad moved in on Bree. His plan backfired though and only served to bring Keith to her defense in the end.
Paul was set to be awarded by the Mayor for his halfway house, but Lynette staged a protest and had friends from the block over volunteer to help them out. The friends however planned a riot and trashed the neighborhood and the halfway house. I couldn’t help but think the guy who was the leader was a plant and friend of Paul’s. It all worked out in his favor way too easily.
The show ended with what I’ve been expecting to happen for weeks. Someone shot Paul Young! Now we have a new mystery. I’m sure he won’t die, but I don’t think he knows who shot him either. This would be a great way to bring back Zach and have him be the shooter though.
