Parenthood: Election Results And Other Drama . . . Plus Two Returns!
Posted by Dustin on 11.28.2013 at 10:29 pm
So we don’t seem to get a new “Parenthood” until December 12th (spoilers below), and that one may be the final show until the new year. Recently they’ve announced that Jason Ritter will be returning as Sarah’s ex-fiance Mark, as will John Corbett as her ex-husband Seth.
So Kristina did not win the mayoral election. I figured as much, as it’s rare something good happens on this show. However part of me, a little tiny part, was hoping they’d throw us a shocking curveball and she’d win. I just hope Bob Little goes down in a flaming scandal soon.
Victor did not take well to being put back in 4th grade for the rest of the year, and Joel seemed to somehow take this as a shot to his masculine pride and has retreated to work and his partner/boss “Pretty Pete.” This lead to a huge fight between him and Julia, and him being a total ass to her. Things aren’t looking good for Joel and Julia at all, and the previews for the next show have her coming to a near smooch with that dude at school, who is also married mind you. I’m sure they won’t smooch, that she’ll stop it just in time . . . The previews this season have been really misleading!
Ryan finally lost it over Amber spending time with the band, both in and out of the studio. He beat the crap out of the singer and ended up in jail. Is he back on those pills? He claims he’s not, but it seems like he is. At this point he’s going to push Amber into the arms of the one guy in the band who seems to like Amber.
Sarah and Hank keep dancing around one another, and at this point it’s kinda getting old. They need to either get it on, or move on. It took me forever and a day to figure out who the guy in Sarah’s building that keeps hitting on her is. It’s Parker from “Drop Dead Diva!”

Witches of the East End Thoughts, Renewal and December/Finale Spoilers!
Posted by Dustin on 11.25.2013 at 3:11 pm
So first up the good news, Lifetime has renewed “Witches of the East End” for a 13 episode order for a 2014 return. No word yet on the return date, I imagine it will be next October again.
The last few episodes have been amazing, but troublesome at the same time. Wendy, after being killed by Zombie Ingrid, is now on her last life! I just can’t imagine the show without Wendy. They have to find a way to reverse this and give her some lives back. We are led to believe she’s on her last life as the necklace she wears has changed color from black to red. I guess though, this could possibly be a sign of something else? That could keep her around.
Ingrid has a new beau, a historian who is following his father’s footsteps and research. He believes witches live in East End, but that they also come from another world called Asgard. While the show didn’t say it, this is the mythological heavens of the Vikings/Thor. Come to think of it, Ingrid and Freya are names from Norse mythology . . . . Hmmm . . . . Ingrid is trying to discourage him, but upon seeing an old map of his and using magic, she believes the world exists. Her mother and Wendy dismissed it though. I have a feeling this guy and his father, who is dead, are somehow very important and maybe even connected to Joanna somehow?
However we learned this week that the world does exist! Wendy and Joanna were banished by their father to earth, presumably along with other witches? Joanna has a husband who also was banished, and apparently lives nearby and always has. However he has had nothing to do with her or the girls for years. We also learned they have a son Fredrick who was left behind in Asgard. Interesting! Was he really? Or has their father found a way to bring him over and been hiding him from Joanna?
Athena is after a serpent key that Joanna has, but seemingly destroyed in this episode. It will open the portal to Asgard. This is what her father was trying to do, to return them to their homeland. However they’ve been banished, why we don’t know, so presumably they can’t return even if they did open the door.
In the latest episode Athena stole Freya’s power for some reason, presumably to kill Joanna and open the portal to the other world?
I may have to look into reading these books, or adding them to the long list of books I need to read. Still gotta read the rest of the “Pretty Little Liars” books, still gotta read “Under the Dome.” I’m thinking my annual vacation in January will involve a lot of reading!

Glee: I’m In A Blah State Of Mind
Posted by Dustin on 11.22.2013 at 5:30 pm
While I’m still watching “Glee,” I don’t know. The fun, the sparkle, the magic just doesn’t seem to be there anymore. They’ve announced that next season will be the final season. Also it seems they are fast tracking the focus to New York this season. The latest episode was in part about setting Blaine and Sam’s move to New York.
I think the best part about the latest episode was a large focus on Becky. I’m not a huge Billy Joel fan, and the few songs I do like of his, they didn’t perform. I think though they performed them in earlier episodes possibly: “Uptown Girl” and “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”
I really dislike that they’ve brought the feud back between Shue and Sylvester. I also miss Figgins!
I got the odd feeling the show was hinting at a possible Sam and Rachel pairing in this last episode? Please no! While I don’t want Rachel to be alone, perhaps they should bring in someone new for her. Pairing her up with an existing Glee kid just seems wrong.
AHS Coven: Burn The Witch!
Posted by Dustin on 11.21.2013 at 9:15 pm
So it’s been a few weeks since I blogged about AHS, but I’ve been loving every episode. The twists and turns this season have been amazing. With the swamp witch bringing both Myrtle and Madison back from the dead, one has to wonder who will really stay dead on this show?
The twist that Cordelia’s husband has been working for Marie Laveaux definitely blew my mind. We got the hint that something was up with him an episode or two earlier, but I would never have guessed that!
Was it Myrtle who really did blind Cordelia? All we know is Fiona claims it was, but she had to frame her to prove it to the others. We saw a flashback where Fiona saw Myrtle in the mysterious outfit in an elevator, but was it really her or was that a lie of Fiona’s? Also couldn’t Swamp Witch heal Cordelia’s face and eyes with her magical mud?
Even though she’s sadistically evil, I was actually sad to see Queenie hand Lalaurie over to Marie Laveaux. I also really don’t like the idea of her mixing in with that Voodoo cult. She needs to go back to the Witches!
Fiona and the Ax-Man is just creepy and weird! I can’t get into them at all. The whole fact that he’s gone from loving her like a father to loving her like a man, ew no! It’s just too nasty.
The whole threesome relationship between Zoe, Madison and Kyle is sooooooooo gross! She’s having sex with two zombies basically. Ewwwwwww.
The coming Cordelia vs Fiona war should be interesting! Fiona seems to be getting some new powers herself now that she’s been blinded. Zoe’s powers are also growing. Then there is Madison, who Fiona thought would be the next supreme. Who will be though? My money is on Zoe at this point.
Once Upon A Time: Peter Pan’s Identity Revealed!
Posted by Dustin on 11.17.2013 at 10:30 pm
I have to re-watch tonight’s episode as usual, but we finally learned who Pan is. Peter is indeed Rumple’s father!
I had always believed they were somehow related. Brother? Fractured Self? A few weeks ago I started wondering maybe his father? I mean it was there the whole time with Rumple constantly going on and on about not being like his dad. But then how did he get so young? Duh, magic! Sometimes the obvious is the answer, not some convoluted theory.
Next week looks to be the end of Pan, and sadly probably the mid-season break until January. I just hope the second half of the season is better. This was my favorite show until this horrid storyline came along. Let’s get back to Storybrooke and what we all fell in love with.
Oh and I all but lost total interest in the Wonderland spinoff. I think that’s a shame as it had so much potential, had they stayed true to Wonderland we saw in Once.
Grey’s Anatomy: What The BLEEP Was That Episode About?
Posted by Dustin on 11.15.2013 at 2:04 pm
Wow, I’m glad I DVRd last night’s “Grey’s,” because about the thirty minute mark I couldn’t take it anymore and started fast forwarding. In case you missed it, the entire episode was Callie and Arizona centered. Callie went on trial for a medical malpractice suit involving an olympic snowboarder who came to her for a hip replacement, and ended up with two amputated legs after an infection set in. While the court found Callie not negligent by the end of the episode, we know she was as she didn’t get a letter from the experimental hip replacement people saying the trial had been suspended due to complications that had been causing infections. Can we just discuss how utterly ridiculous that in this day and age a major medical company was sending such vital information out by snail mail alone? I get the actual letter is likely needed legally as a matter of record, but one would assume they would have also made a call and/or send electronic communication given how important it was to stop any further surgeries.
We also learned that before their marriage blew up due to Arizona’s cheating that Arizona was attempting to get pregnant so they could have a second child. However it didn’t pan out, she lost a baby very early on and gave up on the idea as she couldn’t take anymore losses in her life. Was this storyline somehow supposed to tug at our hearts? Make us start routing for Callie and Arizona again? For a moment it actually did make me have a glimmer of hope . . . but then I remembered that Arizona has just become such slime. By the end of the episode Callie, after a heart to heart with her dad, went to Arizona’s hotel room. She told her that she realizes she made a one time mistake, a lot of things were going on in their lives, but she’d like her to come home so they could start to work on things. After Callie left, Arizona told Intern Kate, who was hiding in the corner in nothing but a bed sheet, that she should get dressed and go home . . . . NICE! I can’t wait until Arizona finds out about this. Yeah, I think any hope I had for them is long gone sadly.
Spoilers for the next episode after the jump . . . Things aren’t looking good for our girl Bailey!

Nashville: Holy Bisexual Twist!
Posted by Dustin on 11.14.2013 at 2:27 pm
Wow, the latest “Nashville” had a twist at the end I never saw coming! As with other shows, it’s been awhile since I blogged on “Nashville.” I’ve been keeping up with it, I just felt it was getting a little bit slow. This week however, WOW!
There hasn’t been any movement with Lamar’s storyline. He’s still in jail, and presumably still thinks Teddy turned evidence to put him there. Tandy is still in the clear, for now. When all is said and done, I won’t be shocked if we have another repeat “who’s your daddy” storyline with Rayna, Tandy and Lamar.
Teddy married Peggy this week, who he still thinks is pregnant. However given he wants to run for congress now, I don’t think he can afford another divorce so soon. So when the truth comes out, well my guess is poor Teddy is stuck with Peggy. Good, he deserves it!
Rayna is desperate to keep Scarlet from recording a song, as it will belong to Edgehill, so she’s signed her up to go on tour with her new boyfriend/fun buddy. Unfortunately what she didn’t know is Edgehill is sending Gunnar out on tour with them too! Gunnar brokered a deal with the president to get a “break” into the industry in exchange for letting Will record that song of his. This is gunna lead to trouble for everyone. Scarlet is messing around with Avery again, Gunnar is secretly sleeping with Scarlet’s best friend from home. Oh boy!
Speaking of sleeping around, Will is still hiding his homosexuality and sleeping with the new girl on Juliette’s tour, the girl everyone is claiming is the new Juliette Barnes. Juliette meanwhile is sleeping with her married friend. Rayna warned her it was a bad idea, and by the end of the show his wife confronted her. The previews building to this for two weeks made it look like big trouble for Juliette. The wife was mad all right, she wanted to sleep with Juliette too, and pulled her into a kiss. WHAT !?!?!?! Holy moly! They sure are turning up the camp on this show, and I like it!

AHS Coven: The White Witch Herself!
Posted by Dustin on 11.12.2013 at 8:20 pm
I’ve gotta catch up with a post on my recent thoughts on AHS:Coven, but the news dropped today via Ryan Murphy’s Twitter that Stevie Nicks herself will be making a guest appearance later this season as herself.
I can’t wait! I also can’t wait to see what becomes of Myrtle Snow now that Misty Day resurrected her at the end of last week’s episode. Will she hide out in her swamp shack with Kyle aka Frankenstein boy?
Witches Of The East End: We Have A Real Suspect Now!
Posted by Dustin on 11.12.2013 at 8:04 pm
So last week on “Witches,” Ingrid selfishly cast a spell to keep Adam’s spirit earthbound and with her, but it had the unintended consequence of bringing Dash’s ex-fiancee who killed herself back as well. It took a lot of work, but they got both the fiancee and Adam to cross back over to where they needed to be.
This week, Ingrid was at it again with the spells. She really doesn’t listen to her mom or Wendy when they tell her to stop messing with magic! One of these days, she’s really gunna screw things up for everyone. Dash’s mom “found” an old photo in their house as she was cleaning up and was stunned how much the woman in it looked liked Ingrid. It was a photo of Ingrid with a small little girl. Ingrid showed it to her mom and Wendy, and they wanted to forget it, but Ingrid didn’t. She learned the girl was Athena, the daughter of Archibald Someone-or-another, who was one of the founders of the town and a reported black magic practitioner. Dash’s family now lives in his old mansion.
Ingrid, determined to remember the past, cast a spell that caused her to recall all. She and the guy were in love and were to marry, and he was definitely evil and apparently using Ingrid. He supposedly had found a doorway they could open and then all the witches could go back to the place their kind come from, there they could live in peace. They were assembling a cult of witches to go to this place. Wendy tried to stop Ingrid, cast a spell to kill Archibald, but it hit Ingrid instead and killed her. Joanna showed up and killed Archibald, as Athena watched.
So now we got the background on the one time Wendy killed her, and it’s also why Wendy and Joanna had the falling out that caused them not to speak for over one hundred years. Wendy has been made out to be the bad seed of the family, but something tells my Ingrid makes Wendy look like an innocent kid. Ingrid has some seedy secrets in her past I think!
Ingrid, now remembering, asked her mom what happened to Athena? Joanna said she spelled her and a few other members of Archibald’s cult, they all left town and Athena died in the 1960s. Ingrid was devastated, it all feels so real, and she loved that little girl . . .
Meanwhile, during a fun night in the old catacombs under Dash’s house, Freya found growing on this wall a very deadly vine. A small piece of the same vine is what was stuck in the woman’s throat who accused Joanna of killing her husband (she’s now gone crazy and the case against Joanna dropped). Freya told Wendy, who said this was bad, she couldn’t understand why it was growing there, but they had to get rid of it before someone finds it. Unfortunately Dash has found it!
At the very end of the show we finally learned who is after Joanna and her family, it’s none other than Dash and Killian’s mom . . . just as I thought! We the audience have learned she is none other than Athena, Archibald’s daughter who Joanna thinks died long ago! It seems she’s out for revenge after Joanna killed her father. Dun dun dun dunnnnnnnn!
Parenthood: Marriage Drama!
Posted by Dustin on 11.09.2013 at 8:17 pm
Man the Braverman’s relationships just seem to be crumbling as of late. Zeek is being stubborn and doesn’t want to even entertain any of Camille’s ideas, so she’s off to Europe for a month with her painting class. Apparently Zeek was NOT invited. Ouch! I always forget the first season had them having affairs on each other. Now that all the kids are grown and out of the house, it looks like nothing is holding them together sadly.
Joel and Julia’s relationship is one screw-up away from total chaos, especially with Julia seemingly infatuated with that male parent from school and Joel unable to stand up to the workload he’s getting from Miss Sexy Boss. I just want to NOT watch these two anymore, and they used to be my favorites on the show.
Amber and Ryan look to be heading for a disaster too. I don’t know if it’s what Sarah has been saying, or maybe all the good work she’s doing at her job as of late, but Amber doesn’t exactly look gung-ho about speeding into this marriage anymore. When he gave her a ring this week, I thought she was gunna puke. She claimed it was too much, but he wouldn’t accept that. I don’t think she was very happy. Perhaps the ring made it all seem real? Ryan also seems to be jealous of her job and the one guy in the band that keeps paying attention to her. Not sure I see a happy ending for them anymore.
Drew’s storyline is still boring the crap out of me. His girl crush just wants to be fun buddies basically, but he clearly wants more out of it. I really hope we don’t have to go through yet another pregnancy storyline with Drew after this is all said and done.
We’ve been fortunate enough to have gotten a break from Kristina’s campaign for mayor, but it looks like things are about to get ugly in the race based on the previews and the spoilers below. I really hope she’s not going to use Amber to get back at Bob Little, that would be horrible.
Spoilers for the next two episodes below . . . .
