Devious Maids Season 3 July Spoilers

Last week’s episode seemed to pretty much reset much of what we know is going on with ABC’s “The Whisperers.” It had appeared that Drill was using kids of military intelligence families to cause a nuclear reactor to melt down. He did, but then he contained the explosion. So he doesn’t want to bring harm to anyone in terms of a mass causality, at least not yet. It seems the entire thing was a show to let the world, or at least the military, know of his existence.
With Drill’s presence known, what will his next move be? It seems like he will have to do something on a global scale next. Also what is Drill? I’m starting to think this is NBC’s “Revolution,” just in a different direction. Is he a nanotech gone wrong and turned into a self-sufficient AI?

So “Under The Dome” had a two hour premiere tonight. What did we learn about the dome? Did the people get free? Those are good questions, the first of which we still don’t have answers to! It seems nobody actually escaped the dome as we thought they did, but were held in these cocoons in the tunnels by Melanie, who created a false world for them. Barbie’s father returned the egg to Melanie, only to get killed for it. Julia and Big Jim, the only people who didn’t get sucked into Melanie’s fake world, finally freed everyone by the end of the episode. Melanie claimed they didn’t understand what they were doing, but Big Jim & Julia didn’t care. Big Jim shattered the egg, which opened all the cocoons. Unfortunately two new people came out of two of the cocoons. Christine (Marg Helgenberger) and Eva (Kylie Bunbury) were in the fake world Melanie created for the people of Chester’s Mill, and seemed to be part of the whole conspiracy to keep everyone trapped in that fake world. Now however they are trapped in the dome too. Who are they? Where did they come from? That’s a good question. Something tells me they may work for the company that Barbie’s father was a part of, and now Eric La Salle (“ER”) seems to be in charge of. That dude was a dick on “ER,” and he’s a dick on this show too!
Honestly, I feel like that was two hours of my life I’ll never get back. Hopefully the promos promising all will be revealed this season aren’t full of it, because I don’t know how much longer I can hang onto this show that seems to be going nowhere.

So this is just a catch-up post for “The Fosters” and “Pretty Little Liars.” On “The Fosters,” I really liked Callie working things out with Jude’s dad, and the speech Robert gave her about how he was her father as he raised her. I also loved that Robert finally realized he’s been treating his wife like his second choice since Callie came into their lives. I really didn’t like how he kept making it seem like he settled because he couldn’t have the woman he wanted. I also detest the pre-madonna that Brandon has been stuck working with at the summer music program and knew she would sabotage him the minute she was able to. Eff dat beyotch!
I still worry that AJ’s missing brother is the one who hit the Fosters’ car in the mid-season finale. He is clearly in hiding for something. I also think Anna is going to dump her kid and run. I really hope Marianna isn’t pregnant from her night of poor judgement!
Over to “Pretty Little Liars,” most of the current shows have focused on the girls and their inability to adjust back to normal life after Charles. By the end of the last episode Alison and Jason had enough info to confront their father and get answers. From the spoilers below, it definitely seems like they’ve spun the twin-twist from the books and made it Jason’s twin instead of Alison’s. I still think Jason may be in on this with Charles, but something also rubs me wrong with Sarah. I think Charle’s obsession with Alison may have caused him to start to become Alison’s twin . . . which would be an interesting twist on the twin twist!
Spoilers for the next few shows for both below . . .
So the two hour premiere of “Mistresses” just ended. I really thought the show would be drastically different without the Savi/Alyssa Milano character, but it was just as good. Savi, having seen Harry and Joss kissing on the beach, took off. She’s now jetting around the world, and pissed at her sister. It’s a nice way of making her disappear, but teasing she’s not gone forever, as she’s sending post cards home. It would be nice to have her return next season if things can be worked out between the show and Alyssa.
Joss and Harry still aren’t really together, as she felt they needed time because of all the wreckage they brought to Savi and Scott’s lives. In the meantime she’s made a friend in newcomer Jennifer Esposito, who plays high fashion designer Calista. Calista is trying to nail her husband and his mistress, so she can leave him and not have to pay him alimony. She and Joss became quick friends, though I don’t know how well she’ll fit in with this circle of women who have a history of being mistresses themselves. That is the one thing that struck me odd.
April’s now wrapped up in taking care of her husband’s other child, as she took a job on a cruise ship and left him in the care of her incompetent brother. He’s a grown man-child that April is also now looking after.
Finally Karen doesn’t have HIV, cancer and isn’t pregnant. She does however have a rare blood type and a doctor needs it to save his dying wife. Karen and the wife hit it off, a little too well. I could see immediately where this was going, and the “This season” previews at the end confirmed it . . . Karen’s gunna be having another affair! Only this time it’s with a woman?
All in all, a great start to the season!
Spoilers for the next two shows below!
So “Devious Maids” has been rocking this season so far. Nathan Owens, who played Lexie’s half-brother on “Days,” made his debut this week as a male maid. Marisol is suspicious of him, but he claims he’s a war vet that only wants a job where he can work and not think about the fallen friends he left behind. I would like to think he wouldn’t lie about that, but he strikes me as someone who is up to something. It looks like he may be Marisa’s new love interest for the season.
Cristián de la Fuente has also arrived as Rosie’s not-so-dead ex-husband Ernesto. It seems he really was a cop and he really was held by the Mexican drug cartel. I don’t know, I still think he may have been crooked. Right now Spence is in the dog house for keeping Erensto from Rosie for all of 2 whole seconds. He wanted to break it to her when she was healthy enough, though you could see he was afraid to tell her the truth. However Ernesto wasn’t having that and surprised Rosie at Zoila and Javier’s wedding.
Zoila’s wedding crashed when she told Javier the truth about Pablo’s baby, and he walked out. No! I really am thinking they contaminated the DNA test and in the end the baby will be Javier’s. Zoila needs some happiness.
Carmen is now the Powell’s maid and Adrienne is loving how mean she is to him. Oh brother! Meanwhile Blanca found a bunch of Katie’s drawings of her killing a man, who she claims is her father. Are these what she’s planning for Michael, or did she kill her biological father? I still think Michael might be her bio-father and that is the big secret about her.

My thoughts: There is a woman, Meg, from the town 5 miles from me, so I feel obligated to root for her. Each year I feel like the cast gets younger and young, maybe that’s because I get older and older, but there is not one person over the age of 33 this year!
So this week’s episode of “The Whisperers” was okay. It wasn’t as thrilling as the opener, but that was to be expected. We learned that Claire and Wes had an affair. We knew Wes cheated based on the tensions between him and his wife in the first episode, but did’t know it was with Claire. We also don’t really know when the affair happened, if it was before or after her husband’s death. She mentioned to him that his wife had given him a second chance, but hers was taken from her, so I suspect it was before his death. By the end of the episode though Claire realized her husband was alive. She even caught a quick glimpse of him.
“John” still has no memory, and has kidnapped his doctor to help him with something. It’s unsure if he’s working for Drill, or to try and stop him. He’s getting messages of what Drill is up to. Drill is clearly after military secrets, he’s targeting kids of military or government families, so that poses the question who or what Drill is. Aliens seems likely, but could it be a form of intelligence from an enemy of the US? So many questions still!
In the meantime, take the new poll on the site about Drill!

“The Fosters” returned last night and shockingly nobody died! I thought that was the big cliff-hanger of the mid-season finale in the winter? I knew the actor who played Jesus was out, but I didn’t think they’d kill him. I did think it would be Anna who died, but she didn’t.
The show picked up a few weeks after the accident. Anna kept had and kept her baby, and Marianna is helping her take care of it as she was badly injured in the accident. However I get the feeling she’s not feeling the kid for some reason and it won’t be long before she takes off. Meanwhile Jesus went to that wrestling academy/school.
Brandon has quit the band and gone to his music camp for the summer, and it looks like he could have a new love interest with a girl he is butting heads with. Meanwhile Callie has lost her internship at the youth center, which she needs to graduate, because she let a runaway sleep there and he ripped them off. Dumb! The runaway, AJ, is going to become the new foster kid for the Fosters from the spoilers and promos. Frankly I don’t think Jesus needs to be replaced, there are enough kids on the show as is.
The Quinns were not seen in this episode, but will be in upcoming ones. Also I expect to see the Girls United crowds again too. Jude meanwhile has his romance with his friend Connor going on, but he refuses to be labeled as gay because he simply wants to just be “Jude” for awhile, as he’s tired of labels.
All in all, I thought it was a good episode. We still don’t know who hit the Foster kids. Something tells me it is AJ’s brother. He was supposed to runaway with his brother, but his brother never showed. The car that hit them was also stolen . . .
Over to last week’s “Liars,” what a great hour! I was worried they would leave them in that awful bunker for a good part of the season, but by the end they got out. Most in town think their kidnapper is Andrew, but we don’t know yet if Andrew is also Charles, the other DiLaurentis boy. Is he Jason’s twin? I wasn’t clear on that. I do think Jason is in on it, his actions with the cops were suspicious. Only the liars seem to know that Charles is Ali’s other brother, and we should find out tonight who they share that info with. I’ll be shocked if they tell the police something!
With Mona alive, Alison and the girls are all free. In the bunker they found another kidnapped girl that Charles was making to pretend to be Alison too. I don’t know why, but I thought maybe SHE was Charles, and acted like a kidnapped girl in order to escape the authorities. However Spencer thinks she’s a missing girl they learned about awhile back.
Spoilers for both shows below!
So I fell way behind with my blog this past year, mainly due to an increase in my hours working. I’m going to try and get back into the routine this summer and not lose it when the fall comes back around! This post is to give my quick thoughts on many of the finales for the shows I watch. It’s been awhile for some, so I’m doing my best to recall what happened.
Grey’s Anatomy
I’m still furious that they killed of McDreamy, but at least Meredith, her sister and Amelia all ended up in a good place with one another by the end of the season. Meredith moving back to her old house was a great idea too. As for Jackson and April, I hope they work things out.
Grimmm
I’m stunned they actually killed off Juliette, but was glad the did so as she became a real witch. It seems she really is dead, or the show really wants us to believe that for now. Her death also opens up the possibility of something between Adalind and Nick. I am confused as to if Adalind has lost her powers again though. Meanwhile that weird organization seems to be after Truble, but I can’t help but worry she’s already working with them and called them in.
Nashville
It looks like Deacon’s sister Bev is a goner, as I refuse to believe they will kill Deacon off the show. The arrest of Teddy was shocking, though not as shocking as the fact that Tandy was the real mastermind behind many of her father’s dirty dealings. I wonder if this means she’ll return next year? I loved that Will finally came out of the closet. It’s about time! Juliette’s story was heartbreaking, and I can’t believe that witch betrayed Rayna by going to Jeff.
Sleepy Hollow
The death of Ichabod’s wife Katrina was just as fulfilling as Juliette on Grimm. What’s with these good girls gone bad? Jeremy also got his it would seem, after taking out Molloch. I’m not sure who there is to be the next big bad now? Old headless?
Gotham
I watched “Gotham” this season, but honestly near the end of the season started to lose interest. The final few shows with the discovery of the batcave and the bloodbath amongst the mobsters was really good though.
The Flash
“The Flash” was probably my favorite new show all year, and one of my favorites period. I loved the characters, and the villains, and cannot wait for it to return. Given they killed erased Wells from history, well his imposter, I can’t help but wonder what repercussions throughout time that will create. There basically should be no Flash right now, as Well’s created him! This is a possible way to bring back the real Wells if they want to though.
The Returned & Bates Motel
I completely lost interest in these two A&E shows. I do want to try and finish “The Returned” at some point this summer, as well as watch the original French version. I did see the final few episodes of “Bates,” especially after hearing about the pivotal final scene.
