ABC has ordered a pilot, which has apparently finished filming, for “Football Wives.” The show is based on the BBC soap “Footballers’ Wive$.” The BBC soap followed a group of women who were married to pro soccer players. The US version will follow a group of women who are married to pro football players. The football team is a fictional Florida team called “The Stingrays.” The pilot has been written by “Ugly Betty” writer Marco Pennette and is being directed by Brian Singer (Xmen and Superman Returns fame).
So far several well known stars are signed up to appear in the pilot. The following is a list of the known actors attached to the project.
Lucy Lawless (“Xena” fame) will play the lead Tanya Austin (Turner in the BBC version).
Eddie Cibrian (“Sunset Beach” fame) is playing Jason Austin (Turner in the BBC version).
Ving Rhames as Frank, the team owner.
Kiele Sanchez (currently Nikki on “Lost”) will be playing one of the wives. Arielle Kebbel is said to be playing Sanchez’s little sister. Should this follow the BBC version, they could be Donna and her sister Marie.
Holly Pete-Robinson (“Hanging With Mr. Cooper” and “21 Jump Street”) has been cast as one of the wives. She plays the mother-in-law to Gabrielle Union/Chardonay. This would make her Jackie Pascoe from the BBC version.
Gabriel Union as Chardonay Lane/Johnson (Pascoe in the BBC version)
Brian J White as Kyle Johnson (Pascoe in the BBC version)
James Van Der Beek (“Dawnson’s Creek” fame) will play a young rookie on the team named Brian. No other information known.
Spencer Garrett will play Bobby. No information known.
Christopher McDaniel as Sal Biagi (only known confirmation is IMDB at this time, so may not be accurate).

Okay so now do you want some possible spoilers? Continue to read on to learn what their BBC counterparts were up to! There is of course no knowing how closely the American version will follow the BBC version

So last night on “Workout” Jackie finally dumped her good for nothing girlfriend. Well she should have left her dumped after last season, I don’t know why she tried working things out with that little she-vamp.
The drama didn’t stop there though. Newly single, she’s started flirting with fellow “straight” trainer Rebbecca. Oh dear, this is going to lead to a disaster. She claimed through the episode she wasn’t ready to get into another relationship, she knew Rebbecca was straight and she didn’t date employees. So why is she smooching on her in the previews for next week? Rebbecca is just as guilty, she is loving flirting with Jackie.
Meanwhile, Doug and Jesse finally made up after their little girl-spat, but then the drama started with Brian. I have to say Jackie was so out of line at her party talking to him the way she did. He was right to be angry, don’t diss someone like that in front of people they don’t know! Jackie’s mouth gets her into trouble a lot it seems. The previews show Brian apparently quiting Sky Sports. Will he really walk? I am doubting it.
Dance and Sing, Get Up And Do Your Thing

I have never been much of a Reality TV junkie. I do enjoy some of the Bravo shows I have to admit, I can’t wait for “Project Runway” to come back. However with the almost total lack of prime time shows as of late, I have gotten sucked into “Dancing With The Stars” and “American Idol.”
“Dancing” I am enjoying, but right now I just can’t deal with watching 2 hours of dancing! When they get it down to one hour I’ll be able to handle it a lot better. I am amazed by how well Heather Mills is doing. You always want to root for the underdog, but in this case the obvious underdog is Billy Rae Cirus. Too bad he can’t “Achey Brachey” his way to the top. I have to say I’m stunned that he wasn’t booted off. Is he the new Sanjaya? I think Joey Fatone is going to be the one to beat, with Lila Ali (sp?) a close second.
Over to “Idol” it was Gwen Stefani’s night to coach the gang. However, almost no one sang any No Doubt or Gwen songs, so I had to wonder why she was even there. I think it’s going to end up coming down to Melinda Doolittle and Blake the beat boxer guy. I have to say I love Gina myself because she’s edgy and different.
The mystery of Sanjaya continues. I don’t know whether to be appalled that he continues to hang in there or root for him to win, which might actually force “American Idol” to fix their voting system somehow. He was terrible tonight, for the most part. I will admit at the very end he actually sounded good, at the very very end. Still, he needs to go as it’s becoming a joke.
It seems to me the right people haven’t been winning “Idol” a lot lately. Kelly Clarkson, followed closely by Carrie Underwood, seem to be the only Idols to actually go on to make it.

A two-hour episode, featuring cast member Kate Walsh (Addison Sheapard) and guest star Taye Diggs, is a test run for a possible new series, ABC said.
The premise is being developed, and the episode will air sometime this season, the network said.
I’m not sure how I feel about a spinoff. The show works because of the interaction between the characters. Furthermore, Addison seems to be a weird choice to spinoff if you ask me.

Normally I detest Reality TV. I think there is just too much of it, most of it I just don’t get. I do, however, enjoy a lot of Bravo’s Reality TV shows. Last season I got hooked on Bravos “Workout.” I only got hooked half way through the season. For those who don’t watch the show, it’s about a lesbian gym owner named Jackie who opened a gym called Sky Sports in LA. The reason I got hooked? Jackie’s insane relationship with her girlfriend! At the end of last season a public blow-up appeared to be the end of their relationship. Finally she had seen the light of than insane woman.
NOT! This season has Jackie back with her trying to work it out in couples counseling. This is just insane! That girlfriend is a nut-job and needs to go. I am going to be watching for when she gives that woman the boot. In sad news, one of the sweetest trainers, Doug, died during the filming of this season. When they tackle his death it will be a Kleenex episode.

Congrats to “Ugly Betty’s” Vanessa Williams (Willamina) who got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame!

Looks like they won’t skimp on revealing secrets in Season 2. Creator Tim Kring also says “I think we want to have some more romance, I think we’re missing that. I’d like to have some more romance on the show.”
Personally I loved the idea of Matt ditching his cheating wife and hooking up with the very hot Clea Duvall (the FBI agent). However I do have to wonder, what comes after saving New York? Taking down Linderman?

Looks like one or more of our “Heroes” will meet their maker in the season finale as all the heroes end up in New York, an event we’ve seen flashes of all season long. Who will be kicking the bucket?
I have always thought Ando, while not a hero hero, would not make it. As for a real hero to kick the bucket, Isaac the painter was foreshadowed as having been killed when Hiro traveled to the future. I think he might not be long for the world.
Sexy Rexy to Brothers and Sisters!

Eric Winter (ex Rex Brady on Days) is joining the cast of my new favorite show, “Brothers and Sisters!” He will play Rob Lowe’s (Senator McAllister) gay brother. The Senator, who is planning on running for President on the show, is also the love interest of Kitty Walker. Both are Republicans. Kitty’s brother Kevin is not and is really opposed to Lowe’s character for signing onto the Federal Marriage Amendment. Surprise surprise, the Senator has a gay brother! This only infuriated Kevin even more. Of course with the introduction of the brother you know he’s destined to wind up as another love interest for poor Kevin, who can’t seem to find anyone and hold onto them.
