Grey’s Anatomy Returns . . . Train Wreck!

Grey’s Anatomy Returns . . . Train Wreck!

Posted by Dustin on 02.28.2014 at 11:01 pm

Wow, could they have just thrown a bigger mess at us with the return of “Grey’s Anatomy” or what !?!?! Here is the lowdown on the major piles of crap our doctors stepped in . . .

– April did leave hubby to be for Jackson, and by the end of the episode we found out they secretly eloped! Nobody knows but us the viewers! What what !?!?! I loved them initially, then hated them, now I just think this won’t last at all. I would like to believe it will, but I just think it won’t given Shonda.

– Shane’s meltdown in the ER while operating on Alex’s father ended up costing the later his life in the end, and possibly the former his job. Hunt was furious with Shane for altering the records to work overtime and apparently he is in fact just a crummy doctor who can’t remember his basics. He never seemed like a bad doctor before, I think the stress is just destroying him. Yang tried to give him a pep talk in the end, but that might not be enough.

– Alex had his own meltdown over his father’s death, and his dad’s new wife’s abandonment of him. Oh and he introduced Jo as his fiancee. Yeah it shocked her too! What what !?!?!

– Ben let Bailey know he is an awesome surgeon and quit his program to be with her, not just to quit. Bailey was stunned, like to the point she couldn’t speak. Damn, Bailey didn’t have something to say? He later got a job as an intern at Seattle Grace and quickly is becoming a new favorite around the hospital, except with Weber who thinks Hunt is being too hard on Shane. I have a feeling that Weber knows the truth about Shane and what he really did with Mousey.

– Arizona is a completely changed woman and doesn’t think Callie realizes that, and that maybe their marriage won’t work unless they basically start all over. Oh brother! I’m over Arizona and her drama. Toss her ass out!

– Stephanie was furious over Jackson’s betrayal, and with pushing from Arizona’s spurned intern Leah, she filed complaints with the hospital board. Yeah, she went there. Now Hunt has mandated that nobody in a supervisor position date someone under them. Well there goes the romance on this show!

– Oh . . Derek’s interview with the President’s people led to the revelation he’s been sending a few thousand a month to some guy named Michael. Seems it’s not his kid, but and old friend from a high school hockey team whose brain he accidentally turned to mush. Meredith still wasn’t too happy with him for never telling her.

What a big mess of crap they’ve all found themselves in huh?

Angry Vindictive Witches: Glee and Dallas

Angry Vindictive Witches: Glee and Dallas

Posted by Dustin on 02.26.2014 at 10:53 pm

Many I was actually bit upset with both “Glee” and “Dallas” this week, and mainly for the same reason. Nasty female characters.

On “Glee,” Rachel finally went full on bitch diva. After Santana auditioned, and won the role, of her understudy, well Rachel lost it. Now I admit, Santana auditioning for the role was kinda not cool, but Rachel just went insane over it. She turned on Santana and when Kurt wouldn’t take her side, she turned on him too. There has long been rumors of the actress’ diva antics on set, so I wondered if this episode was playing up to them? All I know is that I hated Rachel after this episode.

Elsewhere Kurt was jealous of “Starchild” for trying to takeover his band, which he claimed he wasn’t trying to do. Not sure I really believe it, but they made up and posted a cute photo on Instagram which got back to an upset Blaine. Oh BTW, does this episode mean Rachel is out of the band now? Meanwhile Tina and Artie battled it out for Valedictorian, and both ended up loosing to Blaine in the end. Zzzzzzz!

Over to “Dallas,” Cliff is in jail for JR’s murder, but is not down and out yet. He’s determined to prove he was framed, and now has Eliana on his side! He told her that JR duped her dad and switched his land deeds, leaving him with worthless land, which lead to his early death trying to drill dry land. Eliana checked it out and it seems legit. I can’t help but think this is a trick of Cliff’s that in the end will just leave Eliana looking like a huge ass now that she’s turned on the Ewings. She’s basically become a spy for Cliff, working for the Ewings again, but reporting to Cliff. I really hate that they’ve taken her character down this road.

John Ross is still fooling around with Emma behind Pamela’s back, and now his mother Sue Ellen is onto them. Meanwhile Emma’s dad Ryland was sprung from jail. Oh brother, I thought we were done with him!

A new girl has joined the ranch, it’s Naomi from 90210! She looks to be Christopher’s new love interest. It’s so odd seeing seeing her doing a Texan accent, and a bad one at that. Actually only John Ross really has an accent, aside from Cliff Barnes with JR now gone. Maybe next week she will tone down the accent? I hope so.

ABCFam Catchup and Spoilers!

ABC Family was pretty much the only network still showing shows throughout the Olympics, at least shows that I blog about. However I was in Olympic fever mode, so I watched many later on-demand. This post just gives some quick thoughts on the shows, as well as spoilers for upcoming episodes.

The Fosters
So I’m glad Callie is back home, and honestly I’m glad she did the right thing and ended it with Brandon. I’m sure that’s not over, but it needed to happen. I will miss the girls in the home and really hope we get to see some updates on them through the rest of the season.

I’m glad to see the legal issues with Steph and her Ex Mike are behind them. However Brandon is going off the deep-end in a big way, and he’s going to end up in some huge legal troubles of his own soon. It will not be pretty, and I see a lot of blame being unfairly directed at Callie soon.

Pretty Little Liars
The entire outcome of Ezra, under-cover detective/author, was absolutely ridiculous. That was as close to jumping the shark as this show has come. Actually I think it just did. I almost would have preferred he was A and written off at this point. His character has lasted longer than it did in the books. What makes it absurd for me is that he supposedly started this over a fascination with what happened to Alison and “getting the story,” but claims he really did fall for Aria. Really, so you let all this crap happened to her and her friends and still wouldn’t give up the story? You wouldn’t come forward with your evidence? Grrrrrr! No!

Twisted
We have finally learned the truth about Aunt Tara’s murder, Vickrim killed her for some unknown reason and convinced Danny to take the blame. Danny was convinced he’d only serve a few months, not five years. His father has played him, and now that Danny is out seemingly set him up for another murder to keep his secret. Upon confrontation, Vickrim claimed everything he’s done has been to protect him and his mother. It seems some of the “everything he’s done” has been to sleep with half the town: Jo’s mom, Regina’s mom, who knows who else, all were having affairs with the guy! While Jo’s dad cleared Danny of Regina’s murder, nobody knows he finally did kill someone . . . his dad! His dad fell to his death after a confrontation on some cliffs, and only Jo knows as she was there. They are keeping it hush hush, but the last episode had someone stumbling on his body. I can’t imagine he’s alive after that fall, but who knows.

On ABC, I have all but given up on “Once Wonderland.” I just don’t get it. Sadly I’m only watching “Marvel’s Agents” here and there too. I am looking forward to the return of cable shows like “Dallas” and “Bates Motel!”

On “Once,” The Wicked Witch of the West makes her debut as the new big bad of the second half of the season.
On “Castle,” Beckett faces an enemy from her past . . .
On “Nashville,” Scarlett and Liam’s romance takes off, as does Juliette’s career. No word on whether Lamar really is dead . . .
On “Grey’s,” No clue as to April’s choice, but a new policy at the hospital makes dating your co-workers impossible! Christina and Meredith seem to be patching things up . . .

NBC Post Olympic Show Returns and Spoilers!

So TV is FINALLY returning. On NBC I all but gave up on “Dracula,” which already has ended its season. I only somewhat watch “Revolution” anymore. It just got so bizarre! They do have a new show in March “Believe,” but it too is by JJ Abrahams and I find his shows usually to fantastic. I’ll give it a try though.

On “Parenthood,” Joel and Julia really look to be done and over. Crosby and Co. have to move in with Zeke and Camille.
On “Grimm,” Adalind still hasn’t popped that baby out, and it looks like Sgt. Wu may be the next to learn about Grimm and Wesen.

Heroes Reborn! NBC Reboots Heroes!

NEW EVENT MINISERIES ‘HEROES REBORN’ COMES TO NBC IN 2015

Tim Kring to Executive Produce 13 New Episodes of Groundbreaking Series ‘Heroes’

An iconic series that still commands a rabid fan base, “Heroes” will return to the network in 2015 as an event miniseries with original creator and executive producer Tim Kring at the helm, it was announced today by NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke.

NBC has ordered 13 episodes for a new stand-alone story arc entitled “Heroes Reborn,” with all details of storylines and characters being kept under wraps.

“The enormous impact ‘Heroes’ had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

The original series chronicled the life-changing stories of a series of unrelated ordinary people who discovered they had superhuman abilities. As the saga unfolded, they learned they were part of a grand plan that brought them together to change the world.

With the return of “Heroes Reborn,” NBC will launch a digital series prior to the 2015 premiere that will introduce the characters and new storylines. This leveraging of social media is a way for fans to re-engage with what was one for the true pioneers in multiplatform storytelling.

The iconic sci-fi series, which ran on NBC from 2006-10 and was an immediate hit, ranked as television’s #1 new drama with an average audience of 14.5 million viewers during its initial season. The show was Golden Globe-nominated in its first year of eligibility for best drama series; it won the BAFTA Award for best international series, the AFI Award, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films Saturn Award, two People’s Choice Awards and the Television Critics Association Award for Program of the Year.

“Heroes” remains one of the best-selling TV series on DVD of all time with more than 10 million units sold.

Nashville: Another Shocking Death!

Nashville: Another Shocking Death!

Posted by Dustin on 02.09.2014 at 6:08 pm

So I thought of the few network shows hat had returned early from winter hiatus that we’d still get to see them through the Olympics. Sadly no! Nashville is repeats until the end of February, when other ABC shows slowly start to return.

The latest episode featured another death. This one was shocking, unlike Peggy’s, who I think most viewers weren’t sad to see go. With Lamar out of jail, the tension began building. Teddy was certain that Lamar was responsible for Peggy’s death in an attempt to kill him for misdirected retribution. Teddy told this to Rayna, and also said he didn’t turn evidence in on Lamar. He didn’t have that info, but her sister did. Rayna confronted Tandy, who claimed Lamar was responsible for their mother’s death. Rayna then had it out with her dad, who said he did not kill their mother. However he did arrive at the scene of the crash where she was dying . . . and basically did nothing to help her. Rayna was disgusted and demanded he stay out of her life and her kid’s lives. Later Teddy had it out with him over Peggy’s death, turning the screw even more and letting him know Tandy turned evidence on him. The stress became too much for Lamar, who had a heart attack. As he begged Teddy to help him, Teddy just watched! Karmic retribution?

I honestly didn’t think they would really let Lamar die, but the previews for when the show comes back indicate he really is dead. What the hell? How can they kill one of the biggest villains off? Who will expose Teddy for being the corrupt jerk he is? There has to be something else going on that we don’t know.

Deacon decided to record a live album at the Bluebird, and ended up in a fight when he found Megan with Teddy. Her secret case was exposed, and he feels like she has some savior complex and jumps from one disaster to another. We knew this wouldn’t last, they have to find a way to get Deacon and Rayna in bed together.

Rayna is working on her new video, while Juliette and Avery have made their new relationship official. Suddenly Avery is now her and Deacon’s producers or what not. I just don’t like Avery, so I hate seeing him being made into this hero good guy.

Will went and got the record label guy he had a fling with awhile back re-assigned to someone else. What a nice guy! I really won’t feel that bad if he ends up being outed by someone. Gunnar continued to try and get Will to accept who he was, and even wrote him a song that speaks to his issues. Will wasn’t thrilled as he felt it said way too much about him. It’s time to out Will, he needs some drama and this game with him has gotten old.

Zoey and Scarlett are still strained after she found out about her and Gunnar. However Zoey is beginning to realize something is wrong with Scarlett. She has in one whole episode become a total speed junkie. This particular story is reminding me of the “very special episodes” from the 80s. We’ve already dealt with drug addiction on this show in many better stories, why pull Scarlett into this bad after-school special version?

Zoey has decided she can sing, she’s in Nashville, it’s time to become a singer herself. I’m envisioning some “Coyote Ugly” like performance coming up soon involving the Bluebird’s bar as a stage.

Pretty Little Liars: What The Ezra !?!?!?

Pretty Little Liars: What The Ezra !?!?!?

Posted by Dustin on 02.05.2014 at 9:50 pm

So as usual, I need to rewatch this week and last weeks “Pretty Little Liars.” There is always so much going on that I need to viewings two catch everything. Fortunately next week’s “Pretty Little Liars Noir” episode looks like complete fluff to me. Therefore I don’t need to race to watch them again before it.

My thoughts on the last two episodes . . . I just don’t know. I’m so confused! Since the Halloween episode they have been seriously teasing that something fishy is up with Fitz. Now it seems Ezra is “Board Shorts,” the older man Alison had an affair with and is afraid of, and thus he is also “A.” Wait wait wait, this just SO doesn’t make sense! I’m gunna need a whole lot of loose ends tied together if that is where this is going. What does Ezra have to do with that NSA NWA NAT or whatever that club that Jason and Ian and Garrett were in? Yeah, I haven’t forgotten about that! If Ezra is A, and he’s been trying to find Alison all along to stop her from exposing him . . . why would he basically expose his relationship with Aria to her parents and others? That was a gamble that could have landed him in jail if things didn’t happen to go his way. If he was in jail, Alison could have come out of hiding and safely nailed him!

Yeah, this just isn’t making much sense to me. I’m hoping there is some other wildly unbelievable explanation here, but my guess is there isn’t. All my years of watching soaps has taught me not to want answers to insane plot holes from the past, there won’t be any.

Spoilers for the next three episodes below!
