Under The Dome Season 2: RIP Awesome Ladies!

Under The Dome Season 2: RIP Awesome Ladies!

Posted by Dustin on 06.30.2014 at 11:12 pm

So I just finished the season 2 premiere of “Under The Dome” and my mind is blown, my heart is broken. I just don’t understand! Linda and Angie, two of the major females in this town who weren’t idiots are dead? The dome must be a misogynist! I just cannot believe this!

The only hope I have is that they aren’t really dead. The mystery girl who came out of the lake after Julia threw the egg in, I think the dome brought her back from the dead. If it can save her, it can save Angie and Linda! Please save them!

So who is this mystery girl? At first I thought she was the mystery man’s sister he was talking about who committed suicide. I should have connected the dots, but I didn’t. I was slow on this one. It wasn’t until the end that we learned his sister is Jr’s mother and Big Jim’s wife. Yup, the mystery man Sam is Jr’s uncle. So there went that theory! However who is the mystery woman? For now it seems that she has been brought back from the dead, and so has Jr’s mom?

Yes, the final scenes showed us Sherry Stringfield (Jr’s mom), alive, somewhere outside of the dome (because on her TV were reports on the dome), and still painting her scenes about what is going on! This included a painting of her son.

I … am … so … lost!

Who was the girl from the lake? I still think somehow “Uncle Sam” knows who she is but wasn’t saying. He seemed shocked to see her. Is she his sister in a younger form? Is she a new puppet of the dome? Who was the woman outside the dome then that was now painting all the paintings?

I’m so lost! And how can Big Jim be alive and everyone is just okay with that? Big Jim has to die eventually! I get that he is the main villain, but I so wanted to see him die!

Kudos for the cameo of Stephen King! Maybe he can explain what the hell I just watched?

Falling Skies Season 4 Thoughts So Far

Falling Skies Season 4 Thoughts So Far

Posted by Dustin on 06.30.2014 at 7:47 pm

I don’t know what to say about this show other than it has become way too complicated and now seems to be borrowing ideas from “Earth Final Conflict.” I feel like many of my summer shows are fizzling out on me. To be honest, I started getting a little disinterested in “Falling Skies” last season. They jumped the shark with the Lexi storyline, and now I feel like they have jumped the Sharknado with her.

Now that they have split the family up there are way too many storyline arches, and sadly I don’t really care about some of them. I am starting to see how they will likely eventually link together, but still some of them are a real drag. For example, the entire storyline of Matt in the NeoNazi youth camp has to go. I don’t care about it, or Matt’s pre-teen love with that girl in the camp. Boring!

Ben found himself dropped in Crazy Town with Maggie, Lourdes and his now grown sister Lexi. Oh Dr. Underground Crazy is there too. Ben and Maggie and the Doc are the only sane ones in the town. Everyone else, including Lourdes, belongs to the Cult of Lexi. They believe she is a God or something and has the power to protect them, which is why the town isn’t getting attacked. The Doc is worried that Lexi may be dying because of her advanced aging, and Ben is worried Lourdes is using her. We later learned that the Eshvetti are secretly involved (shocking!) and are training Lexi to use her powers for some reason.

Elsewhere in the wilderness Anne is leading the rest of the resistance who haven’t been captured and is trying to find Lexi and the rest of her family.

Meanwhile in a city somewhere Pope, Mason, Hal and Weaver are stuck in a concentration camp like place the Eshvetti are putting humans in. The Volm seem to all but have abandoned humanity, though Tom is still in contact with Cochise who is giving him intel. However Cochise is doing so against the wishes of the other Volm.

In the most recent episode Tom is taken to the mothership where the Eshvetti offer him a deal, and basically lay out their entire plan. They realized the plan to use children was a failure, as they didn’t first strip them of free will. They are fixing that now, and they are working on creating some kind of super soldiers out of various adults. They offer Tom a deal to spare his family, otherwise they and any other humans who are useless to the Eshvetti are basically going to be wiped out. The Eshvetti claim a new enemy is coming, and they are preparing the soldiers for this new war. They think Tom is a good tactical thinker and want his help. Tom apparently takes the deal and is returned to the camp. He tells Weaver he’s scored a way to get them out.

Oh brother, another enemy and another war? They need to stop introducing new alien species at this point. This is where it is starting to feel like the final season of “Earth Final Conflict,” where that show went to hell and became boring. It seems like the NeoNazi camp is the way the Eshvetti are stripping the kids of their free will, and Lexi clearly has something to do with the new type of soldier they are trying to create.

One thing to hope for, Noah Wyle (Tom Mason) was on “The View” last week and said this season would answer many of the questions from past seasons and provides more answers than it does leaving the audience with more questions. I sure hope those answers come and soon!

At this point I think the show needs to lose some characters, as it’s getting a bit too populated. I don’t think Lourdes is going to last much longer. She’s too deep into Crazytown, and just became unlikable last season after we learn she was infected with those eye bugs and was the saboteur. Ben and Maggie seem to have a budding romance, which obviously won’t sit well with brother Hal. I don’t care about anyone in the NewNazi camp either, and that sadly includes Matt. Somewhere out there is Weaver’s girl Genie too . . .

True Blah: The Final Season

True Blah: The Final Season

Posted by Dustin on 06.30.2014 at 3:47 pm

I know a lot of people have given up on “True Blood,” and I am barely holding on. I feel I’ve watched this long, I want to see it through to the end. However right now, it’s getting really hard to do so with Sunday being jammed full of good stuff.

First up, we are two episodes in and have barely seen Bill or Eric. Most of the show has been dealing with the Scooby gang investigating the Hep-V vamps and the hillbilly brigade looking to take over the town. Zzzzzzzzz. Right now I wouldn’t mind if the Hep-V vamps just ate the entire hillbilly bunch. I really hope we get to see someone rip off Hoyt’s mama’s head too. She needs to die a horrific, bloody death.

Eric and Bill finally returned at the very end of the show. Suddenly Sookie is all about Bill again and their connection, thanks to reading some dead teen girl’s diary about her first love, a vampire. Now Sookie is wondering if she gets into trouble could he still feel it and come save her. He didn’t really answer, that’s where the show left off. I think that since the beginning it was very clear Alan Ball had made the decision that Sookie would end up with Bill, and I don’t think that will change. It was just odd that she’s suddenly interested in him again after all this. Meanwhile Pam finally found Eric, who is infected with Hep-V. Nooooooo! What a crock! I hope they find a cure for it in time to save Eric. My guess is it will be fairy blood. However given all his family is dead, I fear Eric will end up dying.

Lettie Mae is convinced Tara’s soul is stuck between worlds and is out to help her. Zzzzzz. Along with Hoyt’s mama, I wouldn’t mind seeing Lettie Mae bite it.

The Jessica/Adeline story is probably the most interesting story so far. I don’t know why Adeline didn’t use her fairy blasting powers before, unless she didn’t know about it? I can’t recall. I would like to see Hoyt return and be with Jessica in the end.

I hope they rescue Arlene and Holly soon, because I cannot watch another episode of them in that basement screaming their heads off. From the previews it seems Holly finally brings back her magic, which I do like. They seemed to have just forgotten about that storyline all together.

The Eric/Jason fantasy was probably the best part of the episode, but still not as good as the Bill/Sam one. That one was just hysterical.

Big Brother Premiere Night Two!

Big Brother Premiere Night Two!

Posted by Dustin on 06.26.2014 at 9:56 pm

So here we are again, part two of the two night premiere. Tonight we will meet the next eight houseguests, who will compete for the second HOH. We also learn the second part of the HOH twist and who the first member of “Team America” is.

Victoria is a photographer and an Orhtadox Jew who is out to seduce the men with her looks. Caleb is an ex-military, metrosexual cowboy, who apparently is the first house member with a scandal in the real world based on political tweets and Facebook posts. Brittany is a mom and just coming out of a ten year marriage. Derrick is a cop, who has worked as a NARC for years. Christine is a barista and very comfortable with being nude. Zack is a recent college grad who hangs out and plays golf all day. He has no problem telling anyone what is wrong with them. Jocasta is a motivational speaker and a minister. She has done a lot of things, men and women, Luv is Luv! Hayden is a surfer and a cab driver. He is a straight A student and thinks his looks will fool everyone.

Julie told the second batch of 8 that there were already 8 inside and a HOH has been crowned. She explained that one of them would also be HOH, they would have two HOH’s each week, and only one HOH will be left standing by the end of the week. Julie then sent in Jocasta, Caleb, Christine and Caleb in first. She then sent the final four in. They chose their beds and it was hugs and kisses all around. Of course many of the Crazy 8’s started feeling the vibe of the newbies and realizing they had to make connections outside their original alliance. Nicole worried the original alliance was about to crumble.

Everyone finally sat down at the table and introduced themselves to each other. Derrick lied about his job as a cop, he said he was a park and recreation officer. Some were wary of Jocasta being a minister, and others of Caleb for being super-conservative.

Victoria and Frankie have become the best of friends immediately. Frankie knew he had to have someone among the new 8 to be on his side, and he felt it was Victoria. Meanwhile Paola talks with Caleb about who he is and what he’s about. She likes his shredded body. She realizes though that he is a big threat to her game and her having the biggest ego in the house. Donny meanwhile used humor to gain friends and make himself seem less of a threat. Derrick and Brittany bonded over the fact that they were missing their kids. Later Zack made a really bad impression on Frankie by criticizing pretty much everything about him.

The second HOH game was played. This game was a pig-roast theme and they had to hold onto a large BBQ spit they straddled as things were thrown at them and it rotated. They had BBQ sauce thrown at them. In the end, Zack threw it, and Derrick did as well. It came down to Hayden and Caleb, and Caleb became the second HOH.

Everyone went inside as Julie gathered them to explain the new twist. Caleb and Frankie sat in the Co-HOH chairs. Julie explained the new twist to them and us. Every week two HOHs will be crowned, each HOH will nominate two houseguests, so four will be in the hot seat. Julie then explained there would be a new comp called “Battle of the Block” where the four nominees would battle as teams of two, and the winning duo would save themselves and dethrone the HOH who nominated them. Julie says this means you can go from HOH to being evicted in the same week.

Julie told us that the first houseguest who is a member of “Team America” is Joey! Joey got her orders and info, and every mission they accomplish will result in $5000 for each of them. Joey accepted, and we the viewers can vote on CBS.com for the next two alliance members.

Take the new poll on the front page! Who left the best impression on you and are you currently rooting for?

The feeds start tonight, I will update as much as I can with who is up and what is going on! If you don’t have the feeds, you can tune in every night at midnight to “After Dark” on TVGN.

Big Brother 16 Premiere!

Big Brother 16 Premiere!

Posted by Dustin on 06.25.2014 at 8:59 pm

So “Big Brother 16” is finally here! After several years, it’s also finally in HD! After Dark doesn’t begin until midnight on Thursday on TVGN. The feeds probably won’t begin until the same time, or at least not until 10pm EST on Thursday.

So the show opened with the Chenbot welcoming us as usual. She informed us about a new twist that would send the houseguests scrambling, and a new interactive twist that would have us involved like never before.

We met the first 8 house guests. Paola, a DJ who plans to hit on all the hot guys, even the ugly ones. Donny is a groundskeeper for a school system. He says he will be smarter than they think he is, but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. Cody is a professional soccer player and up for meeting cute girls in the house. Frankie is a broadway performer and dance teacher, and also is Ariana Grande’s brother. He doesn’t plan to tell anyone about his sister because it will put a target on his head. He is also the self-proclaimed queen of YouTube. Amber is a model and athlete or something from Tennessee. Nicole is a small-town girl and super “Big Brother” fan. She’s afraid of ghosts, and pees her pants when she gets scared or too excited. Devin is a former professional baseball player, but is now a full time single dad. He thinks his athletic ability will help him win the physical challenges. He is told he looks like the Rock, but he thinks he looks better than him. Finally Joey is a very liberal make-up artist and is looking for some hot liberal men. Joey is female BTW, and seems to be Lydia 2.0.

Julie told the first 8 that they would experience the most twisted summer ever. She said they probably wondered why there were only 8 of them right now, and that would be revealed in time. Julie then sent the first four in: Cody, Amber, Donny and Joey. They claimed their beds and looked around while Devin, Nicole, Paola and Frankie were sent in. They soon began to wonder where the other 8 were as there were 16 plates at the table and too many beds.

As they introduced one another, Frankie realized Paola, the NYC DJ, would possibly figure out who he was. Everyone seemed enamored with Duck Dynasty Donny. All the girls, and Frankie, are in love with Cody already. Joey thought she and Frankie were soul mates because of their colored hair and that they are both peacocks. Devin is attracted to Joey, he says she is a 10. Donny meanwhile likes Nicole and thinks he can work with her, if he can remember her name.

After the first break, the first 8 tried to make an early alliance before the next came in. Some already thought it was too early to be making an alliance, but they made one and called themselves “The Crazy 8s.” Then all the men took their shirts off and modeled for the girls by doing ab crunches. Well Donny did not . . . he doesn’t do crunches or sit-ups . . . NO he does not!

Devin immediately makes a side alliance with Donny. He thinks nobody would expect it, and he thinks there is wisdom behind that beard of his. They call themselves “Double Ds.”

Paolo meanwhile didn’t want any of the guys forming another “Brigade” and she wanted this season to be about girl power. She tried to start a girl alliance with the first four girls. They decide to call themselves “El Quatro” for the final four. Poor Nicole wonders what “El Quatro” means.

The first eight were gathered in the living room and Julie told them to enjoy their time, as the house was about to get very crowded. She said the good news is one of them would be the first HOH of the season. She told them what the HOH means, except for one thing . . . even the HOH isn’t safe! That is the first big twist of the summer. They were floored.

After another break, Paola flirted like crazy with Cody. Cody told her that he likes a girl with a good body, who takes care of her body, who likes to work out . . . oh and who has a good personality!

Julie gathered the first 8 in their swimsuits to head to the backyard for the first HOH competition. It was a beach inspired competition. They had to balance on a rotating beam while holding onto a rope, which was their kite string. The last one standing was the first HOH. Of course it’s “Big Brother,” and they threw various obstacles at them, such as raining suntan lotion. It came down to Frankie and Amber, and Amber threw it because she was too afraid to be the first HOH.

Frankie asked the first 8 to have his back, because they all knew another twist was coming. After the break, Julie dropped that bomb on them. Frankie took an orange chair in the living room, which another guest said those chairs aren’t good. They are the normal nom chairs. Julie told them all that he will be nominating two houseguests, however 8 more guests are coming in and another person will become HOH. Julie revealed there will be two HOHs, but by the end of the week only one HOH will be left. Everyone tried to figure out what that meant. Was there a second house? Would they be competing and living in here? Were there 8 all-stars coming in?

As they were left with questions, Julie revealed the second twist to us called Team America. Before the show began, the viewers got to vote on CBS.com for who they wanted in their own secret alliance. The winner has already been chosen, and he or she will be the first of a three-part secret alliance. Over the next two weeks we will vote for the next two members, and the three will be sent on secret quests we choose. We will find out who the first person is . . . TOMORROW!

Tomorrow after the second part of the premiere I’ll have a poll on the front page for you to vote for which houseguest made the best first impression on you and who you are rooting for after the two-night premier! Until then, you can vote in the first poll, who of the first 8 do you want to be the first to go?

Mistresses: Oh No Savi!

Mistresses: Oh No Savi!

Posted by Dustin on 06.25.2014 at 1:43 pm

So let’s dish a little on “Mistresses.” Man I hope Joss smacks some sense into her sister and soon! I was so proud of Savi the week before when she told Harry off, saying he only chose her when he thought she was dying. This past week though, oh brother. Savi seems happy with Dom and is now possibly going to ruin that for Zack, the other guy in the wreck with her. If she sleeps with that guy I will be so mad! I have a feeling though, based on the spoilers below, he may make her realize she chose the wrong guy after all.

Joss and Harry’s business is booming, and now they’ve introduced Justin Hartley as Scott, a potential love interest for Joss. I still think something is going to happen between Joss and Harry, and the minute it does Savi will walk in on them. I know the first season followed the British series almost identically. I don’t know if this season is, and I’ve tried not to watch or read about the British one.

Karen, my favorite dysfunctional psychiatrist, is now resorting to escorting to stop the heartache of spending lonely nights in her apartment. We don’t know if she’s really escorting yet, or just dressing up and going out and living a fantasy life as “Jennifer.” I just hope she doesn’t do something to screw up her career again!

Finally April and Daniel are blissfully in love, but he keeps having to go away for days at a time on business trips. April introduced him to her friends, because he wants to know her people and get closer. However by the end of the show we found out Mr. Perfect isn’t so perfect. A woman called him and he told her that now wasn’t a good time to talk. Is he married? It would seem so . . .

Witches Of East End Returns! Plus Spoilers!

Witches Of East End Returns! Plus Spoilers!

Posted by Dustin on 06.25.2014 at 12:23 pm

The second season of Lifetime’s thrilling series Witches of East End returns this summer with an ensemble cast headlined by Emmy Award-winner Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston, Mädchen Amick , Eric Winter and Daniel DiTomasso. Christian Cooke joins the cast as a new series regular this season.

Based on Melissa de la Cruz’s New York Times best-selling novel, the series centers on the Beauchamp family, where in season one sisters Freya (Dewan Tatum) and Ingrid (Boston) discovered they are witches with ancient magical powers. With the help of their mother Joanna (Ormond) and Aunt Wendy (Amick), they learned how to cultivate their craft and work together to defeat unearthly enemies seeking revenge on their family, while keeping their abilities a secret from the town.

This season, with the portal to Asgard open, what comes through will forever change the lives of the Beauchamps. Darkness surrounds East End as a new stranger (Cooke) arrives. Joanna is still weak with poison in her blood as the Beauchamps search desperately for a cure. With the death of Penelope (Virginia Madsen), Killian (DiTomasso) and Dash’s (Winter) warlock powers return.

Devious Maids: Countdown To The Finale

Devious Maids: Countdown To The Finale

Posted by Dustin on 06.25.2014 at 12:17 pm

It feels like “Devious Maids” just started, and now we are counting down to the finale. Here are my thoughts on the various story lines on the show.

I feel like poor Carmen kinda got the shaft this season. She lost Alejandro and Odessa and ended up stuck babysitting Spence and his crazy nephew. Her and Spence getting drunk was funny at first, but Spence is going to end up wrecking his life and ruining any chance of getting his kid back. However I do think that Peri will eventually realize her kid is a drag on her life and will ship him back to Spence. She never wanted to be a mother and only seemed to take the kid to hurt Spence and look like the hero in all of this.

Poor Rosie, she always ends up in the craziest of households. I hope she is able to take down Mr. Reggie and help Mr. Kenneth and soon! This storyline started out fun with the daughter and new-wife at each other, but it has turned way too sad and sadistic.

Zoila’s romance has been on back-burner thanks to Genevieve’s illness and her cranky mother coming to town. Based on the spoilers below, we will get back to her hot chef soon enough. I really hope things work out for them and she doesn’t go back to her louse of a husband!

Valentina and Remy finally figured out that Ethan is involved in with the house robbers that shot and killed Alejandro. Even though he told her it was an accident, Valentina finally saw the light and dumped his ass. She told him to tell the cops, she wouldn’t, but Remy likely would if he didn’t. Unfortunately she’s been driving around with blood in her backseat, which the cops have discovered. Hello she’s been working as a maid, why didn’t she clean that up by now?

It seems like Tony has a gal on the side and he’s working on a con-job involving Adrian and Evelyn. Hopefully they will get through this and work things out, as they are too much fun. The episode with the camera’s all over the house was hilarious.

It’s really looking like Nick did in fact kill Adrian and Evelyn’s son, as he blurted out what he did to Marisol while under pain meds. He all but named who he killed, saying it was an accident and that he didn’t see him, he just darted out in front of his car. Marisol is heartbroken and has taken off her wedding ring. By the end of this season Nick, Ethan and crazy Opal will all be in prison.

Spoilers for the final three episodes below!

Drop Dead Diva’s Final Episode

Drop Dead Diva’s Final Episode

Posted by Dustin on 06.23.2014 at 8:15 pm

Last night was the final episode of “Drop Dead Diva,” at least on Lifetime. The man behind the show, Josh Berman, told TV Line that he would love to continue the show on another network. My thoughts on that idea in a few. First I want to tackle the end of the show on Lifetime.

So I feel like this final episode was blasé. There was nothing extraordinary about it at all, even the cases weren’t that thrilling. It seemed like by time we got to the last 5 minutes of the show, someone realized “Oh yeah, this is the last episode, let’s find a way to wrap everything up and fast!” I think when it came to wrapping things up, even that was a let down. We didn’t get to see a Stacey and Owen wedding as she went into labor . . . hell we didn’t even get to see their kids really! Owen just patches things up with Jane, while Kim is caught up with her new boyfriend. The only person who seemed to get a real solid ending was Teri, who is going off to pursue her singing career. Paul is just stuck with Jane and NuGrayson I guess, and nobody else found out the truth about Jane and NuGrayson. I guess I just wanted, no expected more out of this finale episode.

As I said earlier, the Berman told TV Line he would love to continue to explore these characters on another network if possible. However killing Grayson off makes that unappealing to this fan. If the show continued, I’d want it to continue with the real Grayson. That clearly can’t happen unless they pull a “Ghost Whisperer” on us, and that one with Jim/NuJim still makes me cringe to this day. I do understand the twist ending, it’s about true love winning out over all odds. Fine, leave it with this crappy ending as far as I’m concerned. Don’t bring it back and continue the adventures of Jane and NuGrayson. As Sweet Brown would say . . . Ain’t nobody got time for dat!
