This week’s “Once Upon A Time” had a few twists that set up next week’s mid-season finale.
The show began as Hook managed to free himself from the giant’s castle, only to find one pissed of Cora waiting for him. She knew Emma and the gals had the compass and that Hook had crossed her, choosing them over her. She wasn’t going to kill him, she was going to let him leave . . . However she’d leave him behind never to get his revenge on Rumple!
Later Cora used some hearts from a vault to conjure up a bunch of zombies of the dead villagers to go chase down the girls and get the compass. Hmmmm, well I guess we know who the Queen of Hearts is?
Emma and Snow realized that Aurora was able to talk to Henry and they could warn the others of Cora and her intentions, which they did. The look on Regina’s face when she learned of her mother was probably my favorite part of the whole episode.
However Aurora and Henry talking started to become dangerous. The fires in the room they meet in were real and burning them. Mulan got uppity, she swore to Phillip to protect Aurora and didn’t care about Henry or the others. She wanted Aurora to just leave, but Aurora wanted to help them. I haven’t been a fan of Mulan much this season, so maybe it’s time she finally goes away permanently. I wouldn’t miss her.
On the other side, David and Regina too were worried about Henry continuing. David offered to take a potion so he could go to the netherworld. However Gold said they couldn’t bring him back. David felt one kiss from Snow over there would, so he wasn’t worried. Gold told him of a way to stop Cora to tell the others. They can use the same poison ink they used to snag Rumple years ago, and told him where a stash of it was (in the cell below the castle they had held him in before the curse hit).
Meanwhile the zombies attacked (why didn’t they use this for the Halloween episode?) and while they didn’t lose the compass, Aurora did get captured. Cora tried to make a deal with her to get the compass, promising to revive Phillip for her. Aurora was too smart to make the deal. Later Hook found her in the cell and helped to free her. He wanted her to tell Emma that their original deal still stands . . . . Wait what? So it looks like Hook was a good guy after all? Not so fast . . .
Snow went to the netherworld thinking she’d see Henry, but was shocked to see Charming. Not as shocked as they both were when they couldn’t touch one another, meaning no kiss for Charming! Before Snow woke up, Charming gave her Rumple’s message as to the weapon to use against Cora . . . I guess Charming is now stuck in a coma until Emma, Snow and whoever else gets home to kiss him!
The end of the show had Aurora’s return to the group and telling them that Hook seems to be a good guy for real. Ouch for Emma, who didn’t think she could trust him. Well it seemed she can’t . . . Hook has a deal with Cora too! He managed to take Aurora’s heart (how does she not know she doesn’t have a heart?) and with it she can basically see and I guess control Aurora if she wants? The girls are on their way to the old castle to try and get the stuff to stop Cora, but she seems to already know their plan . . . Which means she also knows where to find them to get the compass.
I’m not sure how they will wrap this all up next week, and what cliff hangers we’ll be left with. My guess is Snow might cross over to save Charming, but Emma could still be stuck. Will Cora make it over? Will August/Pinocchio resurface? What about Henry’s dad?
So believe it or not, I’m still watching “90210” and I have to say I’ve started enjoying it again. At least in comparison to some of the other new shows I tried to picked up and lost interest in. Some I will try and get back into over the December hiatus, like “Revenge” and “Arrow.” I wish I could like “Revolution,” but I’m just struggling with it.
Noami’s story remains my favorite as usual. They should probably just give her her own show really. I did hate the whole story with Alec and his jealousy of her, and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him. I’m sure he’ll be back to cause problems since Max chose her over him. Speaking of problems, will Alec’s replacement Bryce be a problem? I wouldn’t be shocked if she was somehow working with Alec, or starts working with him on the side . . .
Annie’s boyfriend Colin ended up being a hacker and cyber thief, stealing Max and Alec’s program. It also seems this storyline is just over, and he’s won. Really? I hope he gets what is coming to him! Annie is now dating Riley, who has been helping Dixon with his recovery and stuff. I don’t know, I just don’t trust him either. Annie definitely doesn’t pick the right guys ever. I actually would like to see her get back with Liam at this point.
Adrianna has found herself torn between Dixon, who as usual was acting like a dick, and Taylor, the club promoter. It seemed she was about to dump Dixon for Taylor, but had a change of heart for some damn reason. I guess because she did love him, and he apologized to her and now wants to sign her to some label he’s starting up (with what money?). The previews indicate Dixon will find out the truth about her and Taylor soon. Good! I don’t like Dixon anymore, so Adrianna is better off with someone else.
At the support group Dixon has gone to off and on he made friend with a girl who was there because she lost her dad in a car wreck. Dixon learned her dad is the one who hit him and the car he was in. However he hasn’t told her this yet. Yeah this will come back to bite him in the butt at some point.
Navid became convinced that Liam was getting back with Silver, and ended up sabotaging his relationship with his teacher Lindsey. Like Dixon, I’m over Navid as well. Both of these characters have just become so unlikeable! Liam ended up cutting Navid out of his business, and even Silver seems done with him too. Poor Navid . . . not!
Silver meanwhile is going ahead with her baby idea, and after complications with the drugs it seems it’s a now or never shot. She found this out when with Liam . . . Oh dear! Why do I think Liam is gunna end up being the baby daddy?
Finally Liam has been getting bizarre “I know what you did last month to Vanessa” messages. Who is sending them? My bet is it’s Vanessa herself. However a new “cop” has been assigned to him as a security detail from Liam’s production company to protect him. Well that’s what she said, and Liam didn’t seem to bother to check it out. However by the end of the latest episode, we learned she was just an obsessed fan it seems. Maybe she’s behind the messages?
Well so far this has been a bad year for my TV choices! The ones I liked got canned, the ones I lost interest got saved. I will be adding “Nashville” to the blog in the new year, since I’m enjoying it and it does have a full season pick-up. I’m definitely looking forward to the return of “Smash” in January, as well as “Body of Proof.” There are a few new shows that look interesting (that show with Kevin Bacon looks really good). I just hope what I start watching in January doesn’t end up canned too!
Anyway, here are a few of the last spoilers for the last of the year for ABC . . . . These include “Last Resort” (Canceled), “Grey’s Anatomy” (the premier of Neve Campbell) and “Private Practice” (Shortly ending . . . .)
Late last night came the sad news that Larry Hagman lost his battle to cancer at 81. He will forever be remembered as The Major on “I Dream Of Jeanie” and of course J.R. on “Dallas.”
“Dallas 2.0” returns for a new season beginning in January. Much of it has presumably been taped at this point. How they will address J.R.’s passing on screen remains to be seen.
So the last few “Private Practice” episodes have all been fairly character centric. We had a Jake one, an Addison one, and a Sam one. Next week appears to be Charlotte/Cooper, and the one on Sheldon is supposed to be very powerful. My guess is that it will deal with the pedophile patient he has. I really don’t know if I wanna watch that one . . .
The Sam centric episode did little for me. I think it’s because I’ve come to loath him so much. Even though we learned about his troubled past, I didn’t feel anything for him. We found out that his mom (Alfre Woodard, who is apparently on every show now) had a long ongoing affair with her best friend’s husband, who was Sam’s bio dad.
For her episode, Addison, who had an open adoption with Henry’s birth mom, started feeling ambushed when after months of no contact she and her mother showed up to see Henry constantly. Addison freaked out, understandably so, but in the end they worked things out.
The last episode focused on Jake and his step-daughter and the fantasies (?) he’s been having of conversing with his dead wife all these years. It took me the entire episode to realize she was from “GCB!” I kept wondering how I knew the actress. Jake and Addison are getting married and both are now moving into the next phase of their lives with one another and Henry.
Frankly, the back stories which only got a few minutes of attention were far more interesting than any of these stories!
I am really hoping that we find out what happened to the child who went missing from the hospital before this show ends. Violet has been involved in helping the parents dealing with that.
Amelia is slowly becoming involved with the new doctor that Charlotte hired to replace Pete at the hospital, though she’s had her guard up.
Sheldon is battling the demons of prostate cancer, his weird relationship with his ex, and the pedophile patient.
Finally the whole adoption storyline brought up questions in Mason about Cooper’s parents given he was adopted.
All of these stories were way more interesting than Addison and her men! Too bad we can’t have a spin-off of this spin-off to deal with non-Addison related stories.

So there is no new “Grey’s” this week, so this is my thoughts on last week’s episode . . .
Yang was back, but she was not the head of Cardio. Boo! Hiss! Owen hired this new guy Dr. Russell, who basically seems to be an idiot. Yang walked back in, and he let her have free rein over everything it seemed. Christina then went to work making the lives of her interns miserable. Yeah they miss Medusa now! After she took it upon herself to take a patient into surgery and save his life, Owen ended up reading Christina over operating on Russell’s patient without his knowledge. He said she could get fired, and yada yada . . . . Russell could have cared less! In fact he praised Christina for her judgement and then revealed it was Owen’s idea for his to hire her. He said Owen was right to push so hard for her to join the team. Oh dear! My guess is this is a small in road into Christina and Owen reconciling.
The doctors had many meetings with their lawyers to assess their personal damages in order to come up with a settlement figure. Callie ends up revealing, after being pushed it seems to come up with reasons for more moolah, that she doesn’t think Derek will ever operate again. This devastates Derek, they fought, but later Callie reveals there are many options they have to try and get him full functionality back. It seemed to me that she was trying to be positive, but also spin things in a good way i terms of money for themas this would be a long and expensive road . . . . However the lawyers dropped a huge bomb on them all. They’ve decided the easiest person/people to sue is their own employers for putting them on the plane in the first place . . . What what what !?!?!?!? Guess they wish they took that settlement now! I’m thinking they aren’t going to see a dime as they won’t want to go after their own hospital.
Jackson and April’s sexathon continued, but as it turned out it wasn’t just all about the sex for one of them. Jackson really likes April and finally let her know that he likes her. Aw! I love these two together! Now if April can only get an exam redo . . .
Bailey concocted a plan to get Arizona back to work by playing dumb and begging her to consult on a case. It worked, though do we really think Arizona didn’t know what was going on? If she did, she didn’t say a word as Bailey was smart enough to keep Callie out of her plan.
Alex meanwhile offered to buy Meredith’s old house. They argued, but eventually Meredith sells it to him, on the condition that he rents a room to Christina! Oh boy . . .
Unfortunately the news broke last night that ABC has canceled “Last Resort” and “666 Park Avenue.”
I’m honestly not sad about “Last Resort” as I had begun to get bored with it. However I am pissed about 666! I really enjoyed that show, but from what I understand it was doing worse in ratings then GCB was in the same time slot.
Both shows are to end after their 13th episodes. I just hope we get some kind of closure from interviews with the shows writers and producers.
“Parenthood” finally returned after a few weeks of being off air. It was a cute episode, but not one of the most dramatic or exciting.
Christina was preparing to go through chemotherapy, and Camile was being very supportive. However Christina was becoming annoyed with her, which Adam didn’t understand. Christina basically wanted her own mother there for her, but we learned that her mom seems to be a bit of a flake. She gave Christina all these excuses why it was simply a bad time for her . . . Poor Christina!
Ryan and Amber continued their relationship and finally took it to a sexual level. While Sarah was happy for Amber, Zeke was concerned. Does he know something about Ryan that we don’t? Throughout the episode Ryan was popping pills, which he told Amber were given to him to help him re-adjust to being back home or something. However it seems clear he’s fairly dependent on them, whatever they do.
Julia continued to worry about Victor. It seemed he was having a hard time making friends. She defied the social workers suggestion that she push Victor to make new friends, rather than reach out to some of his old ones. She brought a friend from his old neighborhood over to play, which opened him up a bit more. However they only spoke Spanish, so Julia got herself a Rosetta Stone kit to learn Spanish to try and connect with Victor. This made him smile. Yes, he smiled!
Finally Drew learned Amy was dating an older guy, and he wasn’t happy about it. When she showed up at his house and learned Drew’s aunt had cancer, she was VERY supportive. Drew then used this to basically get her into bed. Gross! That’s bad karma on Drew’s part, and somehow he will be punished.
TV Line has confirmed what many of us speculated about the Season 6 finale of “Army Wives.” The call Michael got at the end of the show is likely NOT about the plane going down, but Claudia Joy! The show’s executive producer has confirmed to TV Line that her character will be killed off in the Season 7 premier!
Also reported by TV Line is that Sally Pressman (Roxy) will return, but as a guest star and not a series regular. Many of the new comers that were added last season will be back as the shift to a new batch of wives begins, though Denise and Joan also are still around.
More changes and cast additions are expected. The question is, will the audience return, or will they stick it out? I was fairly candid on here that I wasn’t the biggest fan of last season and all the new faces and stories. Gloria and Jackie grew on me, their husbands did not. However the reality of the original group women staying together forever, well isn’t reality.
American Horror Story: Bloody Face Unmasked! Plus AHS Renewed!

First up, a third season of “American Horror Story” has been ordered, and once again Jessica Lange will be back in a new incarnation. Start paying attention for clues people, as last year we were given clues as to the setting of this season in the final episodes.
The last two episodes have dealt with a new patient played by Franke Potente who claimed to be Anne Frank. Not only did she claim to be Anne Frank, who survived the death camps, she claimed Arden was a Nazi general named Hans Grouper. In the end, it seemed like it was all a fantasy in her head. Anne’s husband showed up and claimed she fell victim to this delusion shortly after the birth of their child. Basically she was suffering from postpartum depression. Arden ended up doing a lobotomy on her, and she returned home a stepford wife. However as she was throwing all the research she had been gathering up away, we saw a picture of what definitely appeared to be Arden standing behind Hitler! So maybe she was right about him, even if she wasn’t in the camps.
Sister Jude went to see a Nazi hunter with the information on Arden she had gathered from Anne. Later though, when she realized Anne was all wrong, she called him back to tell him to forget it. Arden told Jude she would be out soon, her latest screw-ups would ensure he took over the assylum. Jude then went all Sister Slutty, got all dolled up, drunk, and picked up some strange man at a bar. Oh my!
Meanwhile Kit and Grace were scheduled to be sterilized after being caught “baking” in the bakery. Kit learned why Grace was in Briarcliff, she killed her father and step-mother who had been sexually molesting her. However the authorities didn’t believe her. Kit was forgiven for his transgression and would not have his boys chopped off, but Grace was to be sterilized. However she later ended up being abducted by the same aliens who took Kit, and on the mother ship saw Kit’s wife Alma. She was returned to the hospital in a state of shock.
Things went from bad to worse for Kit. He began thinking maybe he did kill those women, and talked to Dr. Thredson who taped this and turned it over to the cops. As Kit was being dragged away by the cops for his confessions to these crimes, Grace tried to tell him about Alma. She tried to scream that his wife was still alive!
Meanwhile, as all this is going down, Thredson worked to break Lana out of the asylum and then took her to his place. This is when things went very wrong for Lana. She began to notice weird things in his apartment, furniture made out of odd materials. Skin, bones, skull caps . . . As she tried to run for it, he trapped her in his basement of horrors where Wendy’s dead body was. Thredson then revealed himself to be Bloodyface!
Meanwhile Sister Mary Eunice sucked up to Arden to position herself as his right hand woman. He knew what she did for him, disposing of his latest creation in the woods. He felt he could trust her. However she didn’t put the woman in the woods. She dropped her off outside of a school where she was seen by a class of school kids and their teacher. Oh boy!
My Thoughts . . . .
Half way through the latest episode is when I realized Thredson was Bloodyface. I can’t believe I never considered him before, so bravo for that surprise twist! I really hope poor Lana is able to escape him, but I guess I shouldn’t get my hopes up. I mean, last season pretty much everyone died.
I’m still thinking Arden may be exactly who “Anne” claimed him to be. It looks like the Nazi hunter that Sister Jude hired will be showing up to investigate him. I bet he’ll end up being disposed of by his creations in the woods at some point.
Sister Mary Eunice is still possessed, so it will be interesting to see what happens with her and how it plays out.
As for Kit, Alma and the aliens. I’m not sure where they are going with this one. I still think this story could have been done without the aliens part. Maybe there will be a twist with them too, and they aren’t really aliens.
