Dancing With The Stars: 100 Episode Celebration!
Written by Dustin on May 5, 2008 – 9:30 pm -This week is the 100th episode celebration of “Dancing With The Stars” with the 5 final couples competing tonight to make it to the semi-finals. On Tuesday’s elimination night several past couples return to shake it for us.
Tonight each couple did two dances, again performing a ballroom and a Latin dance. Up first this week was the ballroom dances.
Kristy and Mark went first, dancing the quick step to some swing song I don’t know (WWII song for sure). Len thought it was great. Bruno said it was a good quick step with great detail and she will be in the final. Carrie Anne said she love that they dance to the judges, but felt they were a little out of sync at one point. They got a 29 with two 10s.
Mario and Karina danced the Viennese Waltz to that song “Nothing If I Ain’t Got You.” (might not be the real title, just one of those songs you know) Bruno said it was polished, distinguished, romantic and elegant. Carrie said it was nice and stiff as it should be, the lift they did was great. Len said tonight he was the most elegant he had seen him dance. They got a 27, all 9s.
Marissa and Tony danced the foxtrot to “Start Spreading The News.” Carrie loved how she entertained them all. Len said she had great posture and hold. Bruno said he loved it, but their moves weren’t quiet appropriate for a dance. They got a 25.
Jason and Edyta danced the tango to some Latin song I don’t know. Len said it was too much of an Argentine tango rather than a ballroom tango. Bruno said that’s where it was created, and he hates the two of them because they are so beautiful. He said they had never danced better. Carrie Anne said they brought a whole new dynamic to the dance, it was fantastic. They got a a 29, with two 10s.
Christian and Cheryl danced the tango to “Beat It.” Bruno said that was what a tango should be. Carrie Anne said nothing was wrong with it at all. Len said any problems from his arms was covered by the choreography. They got a 28, including one 10.
The second round was the Latin round.
Kristy and Mark danced the samba to some Latin song I don’t know. Carrie Anne said she didn’t know what to say, but she didn’t care for it, it was out of control and not as graceful. Len said it had speed, energy and spins, but lost a bit of the rhythm. Bruno said she was spinning beautifully eight times into a drop, they took the biggest challenges on. They got a 26.
Mario and Karina danced the jive to some 50s song I didn’t recognize. At the end there was unfortunately a failed lift. Len said it was too rough for him, no technique in the footwork. Bruno thought it was in the spirit of rock’n'roll, fast and fun. Carrie Anne said the wildness worked and it was great. They got a 26.
Marissa and Tony danced the mambo to some Latin song I don’t know. Bruno said she could do sexy, he wants more of it. He thought it was a beautiful mambo. Carrie Anne said she loves how she goes for it. She says she messed up a turn at the end though. Len said loved that she is now coming out and performed, but it was a little bit careful. They got a 25.
Jason and Edyta did the samba to a Latin song I don’t know (sorry!). Carrie said she appreciated his effort to be flamboyant, but it didn’t work. Len didn’t like it, he looked uncomfortable. Bruno called it a turkey, he was not focused or as good as he could be. They got a 23, the lowest score given this night!
Christian and Cheryl danced the mambo to some Latin song which of course I dont know. Len thought it was a fabulous job. Bruno was shocked at the things he could do with just one arm. Carrie thought he was definitely Latin and they were on fire. They got a 29, with two tens.
For the first time this season I voted, both online and with text messages. I’m afraid Marissa is going home this week, so I went in and voted for them as much as I could.

Jason and Edyta’s samba song was “It had better be tonight” (original by Lena Horne).
I think Christian and Cheryl did an amazing job tonight and both dances were entertaining to watch. I also really like Marissa and hope she doesn’t go home. I wouldn’t be terribly upset if Mario went home, he doesn’t do much for me.
