Grey’s: No Wire Hangers In The OR!

Grey’s: No Wire Hangers In The OR!

So the latest episode of “Grey’s” I thought was really really good. So much went on!

First up, Yang had serious issues with one of the resident heart surgeons who she felt was at retirement age because of her mistakes. She was played by none other than Faye Dunaway, who totally channeled “Mommy Dearest” in the OR when she yelled at Yang to “Get out of my OR NOW!” Yang of course was right, and in the end she decided to retire. However Owen made her realize she was somewhat of a bully to the woman in the way she confronted her and went to The Chief, rather than having a nice talk with her. He told her in 40 years that could be here and he might have to be talking to her about retiring. She of course said he’d have to pry the scalpel from her cold dead hands! He said she missed the point, he wanted to be around in 40 years. Awww so cute! I absolutely loved this story this week, it was probably my favorite of the bunch.

Izzie realized a mistake had been made with her blood sample and another patient. The patient returned saying Izzie told her she might have some form of cancer, well $80K in tests later all she had was anemia. Izzie checked the records for that day, she was the blood sample marked anemic. Oops! Izzie found some thing growing on her back, which she had biopsied. Of COURSE we don’t know what the results were. A woman came to her at the end of the show with them, but we didn’t hear them.

Izzie was having issues with her students, who she thought were stupid and never going to be able to be doctors. She ranted to Baily, who told her she thought the same thing about her group and look at them now. The show ended with Izzie apologizing to her interns for how she’d been treating them and presented them with a case . . . which was in fact her. We’ll find out when “Grey’s” returns what’s going on with Izzie. I’ve made this the new poll, whether you think the show really will kill off Izzie. I’m kinda thinking at this point, they might kill her off for real.

Derek and Addison continued to face off over the woman who’s aneurysm Derek believes he nicked. In the end, the woman died and the premie was delivered and seems to be stable. Derek had to give the news to the husband, who lashed out at Derek and called him a murderer.

Meanwhile when Mark finally told Derek about him and Lexie, Derek took his anger out on poor Mark and they got into a huge fight! I hope their friendship can be repaired, but I think we might end up seeing Derek go to a dark place because of what happened. I can’t help but wonder how all this will affect him and Meredith and his decision to propose. Meredith has always been the dark one whereas Derek was always the optimist. I wonder if he will forgo proposing and she’ll find the ring and start questioning her friends.

Baily sought letters of recommendation for her new fellowship in pediatrics. She also had a new softer hairdo, I guess to prove she could be a children person or something? As predicted, The Chief wasn’t happy. He gave her a form letter which infuriated her. He lashed out saying he had put time into her, he groomed her to be the next him. However she lashed back saying she wasn’t his child, she had dreams and hopes of her own. In the end Addison gave her a letter of recommendation to use in place of The Chief’s crappy one. I knew this was going to happen, I knew he wouldn’t like this!

Finally Callie got the courage up to ask Arizona out on a date. However when Arizona found out that Erica was Callie’s first, she called her a newborn and said no! She said Callie was still in the experimenting stage, trying things out. That was too much for her. Callie stewed and confronted her later at the bar, saying she may not have much lesbian experience, but she had life experience. She rattled off a long list, only to find out Arizona was on a date. Oops!

I have to say, as much as I liked Callie and Hahn, I LOVE Callie and Arizona! There is something cute, bubbly and funny about the two of them together. I am looking forward to more of the two of them. This could be more of a real romance as opposed to Callie and Erica, which was kind of an experiment.

  3. You like Hahn?!?!? What! I was so happy to see her leave. She was a royal pain. And I HATE that new doctor from the Army. He has more issues than People magazine… get over it dude. Man up! Or at least make some sense, either you want to be with Yang or not. Stop dragging her into your messes.

    Ok, I feel better 😉
