Desperate Housewives: Chills

Desperate Housewives: Chills

For Sweeps, this wasn’t one of the better “Desperate Housewives” I’m afraid. Anyways let’s dish!

First up, Lynette and Rick got robbed during a “romantic” dinner at the pizzeria and locked in the cooler. Tom found them the next morning, and upon reviewing the security tapes of the robbery, the pizza hit the fan. Tom got a good look at Lynette and Rick’s “dinner.” Lynette, out of guilt, fired Rick. Meanwhile Tom’s little talk with Rick, ouch. I guess Lynette deserved what he said, but to say he would stay with her until she realized what she did and felt miserable about it, that was down right mean of him. Lynette eventually broke down over what happened. She technically didn’t cheat, except in her heart, and you know she wanted to cheat. At least we didn’t have to see Kayla the devil child in this episode.

We met Edie’s ex husband in this episode, played by Greg Evigan. When Edie realized with Travers leaving that Carlos wouldn’t be hanging around as much, she went into action. I knew Carlos liked the idea of the pre-made family more than anything. Edie finally saw it too. However she schemed to keep her kid around in order to keep Carlos! It was low that she used her kid. Then again, that is Edie. Carlos talked her out of the custody suit. Edie then broke down over actually missing her son. I do hope they bring the little guy back, he was cute . . . . and FAR better than her nephew Austin. That character can stay gone!

Susan headed to the woods to find Mike and got lost, because she decided she didn’t need a guide. In the end it was Mike who came to her rescue. Not much really to comment, this storyline was a bit of a snooze.

Finally the one interesting story of the night was Gabrielle and Victor. Victor won the race for Mayor, and Gabby let the power of being his wife go to her head and tried to get out of parking tickets. The meter man basically was an ass and did manhandle her, but she got arrested for kicking him in the jimmy. The real interesting part of this all was Victor’s reaction. We finally saw a dark side to him. Not only was he livid with Gabby, which he had reason to be given her behavior, he had the meter man beat up for hurting her! This is a very scary Victor. I wonder where they are going to take this one. Gabby thinks she found her prince charming, but he’s a troll in disguise it seems.

  1. I don’t think that Tom was being about Lynette – he didn’t say he would leave her. He was saying he would always stay with her, their marriage was forever but that the guilt of the affair would kill her and if Rick really cared for her he wouldn’t make her cheat – cause it would hurt her in the end. And I think she broke down because she was so sad that she fired Rick and her life was going back to the way it was before. She was having fun for once and all that had to change.

  2. I agree with k-lee, Tom wasn’t being mean at all. He was saying she would never leave her family and he would stay with her and her guilt would kill her. I thought you could really see how much he loved her.

  3. Thank YOU, Dustin! You solved something I missed cause of not getting opening credits, and the new tine-tiny credits at the end that you need a magnifiying glass to read.

I thought that was Greg Evigan for Edie’s ex. I wonder if they are going to bring him in full time it would be so good to me. I love Greg have had a massive crush on him since the days of BJ and The Bear!

  4. Love the Victor character; think it will be good for the show. Finally Susan and Mike together – I hope so as am getting tired of that entire storyline because was basically the same for a couple of years. Loved seeing Greg Evigan and hope there’s more of him. For some strange reason would like to see Edie more stable, a good person for a while; leave the scheming up to Gabby. Don’t care for Kayla character. Am looking forward to Bree’s return.

  5. OK – first of all, I just found your site even though I have been on your DOOL site for millions of years….well, almost.

Anyway….I think Victor is going to end up breaking Gaby’s spirit, which I think is a bad thing. I see him being like a mobster, making her his token in public and a slave in private thru mental abuse. I’m not really liking it but I guess we’ll see what happens next season.

While Susan’s storyline was a little snoozy she did at least, hopefully, have a revelation about how she creates drama and maybe that will make her stories next year better….or at least different.

Not sure what I think about Carlos, Edie….seems like at first he was going to disappear with the departure of Travers but then it seemed when he saw what lengths Edie was going to keep him around he had a change of heart toward her.

Tom/Rick/Lynette…personally, I think Tom really acted like an A** toward her thru the opening of the restaurant and definitely thru his recovery time. I thought he seemed like a big baby when he talked to Rick. I’m not for cheating by any means, but I can certainly understand Lynette’s need to wind down at the end of the evening with her store manager and eat something….if her feelings are more than that, then that is something she has to deal with but the wind down time is not a big deal as far as I am concerned….nothing happened.

  6. Hmmm…while I haven’t watched this show from the beginning (I only caught on last season) I just have to say that I miss Bree. She is by far the best housewife on the show! I’ve loved Marcia Cross since her Melrose days. Can’t wait til she’s back.

As for the current storylines…Victor is bad news, period. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a Mob boss. They need to find a real man for Gabby, I knew this one was too good to be true.

Next week’s previews showed Gabby and Susan having the same wedding day…claws will be coming out on that one!

Hating the Lynette storyline. I haven’t like it since Rick came on. Although, I think it will only solidify the marriage between her and Tom. I don’t always like the way Tom acts, but thats really the way relationships are.
