Linderman Bites The Big One
Photo Property of NBC.com
So tonight’s episode was far from the slow episode of last week. We got excitement and violence galore tonight. Let’s get to it. (Tired as I write this one up, so I may be missing a lot!)

The episode started out with Peter gaining the power to go “boom” from Ted. Try as they might to hide Ted from Sylar, Sylar got his hands on Ted. Ted was the first, but not the last, casualty in this episode.

Mr. Bennett and Parkman attempted to track down the source of the tracking device implant/tattoos. In the process of breaking in to get to it, Mr. Bennett killed Thompson (Eric Roberts). Another one bit the dust. Then Parkman was shocked to realize the tracker was actually a person. Not only a person, a little girl named Molly. Molly recognized Parkman as the nice cop who saved her. Mr. Bennett however was ready to kill Molly to save his own daughter! Surresh had a gun on Mr. B, who had a gun on Molly. Now from previews Molly and Surresh are fleeing next week. I am wondering if Mr. B will get it? I hope not as I really like his character. We’ve had enough death in this episode alone!

Hiro went to fix his broken sword, only to come face to face with his father . . . who had been watching him the whole time. Hiro’s dad has always known of his mission. Hiro learned of his family’s lineage and then got some training as a swordsman. Yup, Mr. Sulu trained his kid on how to kill Sylar!

Meanwhile we did indeed learn Micah was used to rig the election this week, and Peter won in a landslide. I’m still confused here though. He did it all from a voting booth, so again, what is he doing with his hands raised on a roof top as if he’s manipulating the whole city? Guess we’ll find out next week! Maybe it has something to do with the tracking devices?

Linderman was back in this episode and healed Nathan’s wife. She was wheelchair bound, now she can walk. This was a total bribe to get Nathan to go along. We also learned Nathan and Peter’s father was one of Linderman’s team members, but was weak according to Linderman and couldn’t do what he needed. Something is still going on here that we haven’t been told. I’m foreseeing a father-sons reunion next season maybe? The mom is obviously so in on it all as well, she’s lying about something. Also this week Hiro confronted Nathan for help stopping the bomb and the “bad future,” only to learn that Nathan isn’t just a villain in the future, he’s a villian right now! Power and greed has corrupted poor Nathan it seems. I’m having a bad feeling Nathan might bite it in the finally.

Finally we get to DL and Jessica/Nikki, who went in search of Micah and confronted Linderman. Linderman bribed Jessica to kill DL and Micah, but in the end she sided with her family . . . finally overcoming her inner demons. Linderman then shot DL, but not quick enough. In one of the nastiest scenes of the season, DL reached into Linderman’s head and crushed his brain! Yup, Linderman’s a goner. Dang! However DL’s fate after being shot is not known. Noooooo, not DL too!

The show ended with the creepy Sylar practicing his exploding technique.

Honestly, there is still SO much that has to be done, and only an hour left to do it next Monday. HOW are they going to wrap this one up?

  1. So two people died in this one, both
    quite gruesomely.
I never excpected DL to be the one to kill
Linderman though. Yeah, just about no one
on this show dies in a ‘nice’ fashion.

It is nice to see Peter Petrelli’s wife out
of a wheel chair though, somehow I knew that
would eventually happen. At least they got some
of his healing before he died!
They can’t possibly wrap everything up next week, maybe they’ll leave some stuff for next season. We’ll see…

  3. “what is he (Micah) doing with his hands raised on a roof top as if he’s manipulating the whole city?”

Was actually a scene from the episode where Micah is at the window, looking out over the city. At first, you can’t tell it’s a window.

And several of us at work have a theory that Linderman is Nathan’s daddy (Linderman can heal others and Claire can heal herself ….) My question is whether Peter is Linderman’s son too.

  4. I thought Linderman might be the daddy, but would he be crazy enough to let his own son Peter die (unless he’s another guys son)

  5. I heard that next week’s episode is going to be 2 hours, so that might help to fit everything in. What would be great is if they did a commercial-free episode!

    Sami…it’s Nathan Petrelli’s wife, not Peter’s.

Kelly…I have a feeling that Linderman is actually their father as well. But he would have to be both because the abilities are genetic. If he wasn’t Peter’s father too then it would have to mean that the mother had the abilities and so far they haven’t eluded to that. The only thing they’ve revealed about the mother is that she knows about the abilities.

  7. I, too, think Linderman might be Nathan’s father. He may or maybe also be Peter’s father. I think I recall Linderman telling Nathan in this episode that his father had a power, whether Linderman was refering to himself or the man thought to be Nathan and Peter’s father. That could explain Peter’s powers if Peter’s and Nathan’s (supposed) father had a power also, then Nathan could either have the same father as Peter or have Linderman as his father. I highly doubt that Peter is Linderman’s son. I also have some suspect that Nathan and Peter’s mother has a power and it just has not yet been revealed.

This is my DL/Linderman dying theory: I thought I saw DL alive, hurt or not I’m not sure, in the previews for next week. I think that since Linderman’s power is to heal, he will be able to heal himself like Claire can. I think he will also heal DL. But I can’t imagine why.

  9. The mom TOTALLY hinted without saying she had powers 🙂

  10. I wonder if Nathan will become the hero versus the villian. Maybe his love for his daughter will make him sacrifice himself by grabbing Sylar and exploding in the atmosphere high above NY?
    Just a thought…

  11. Linderman can’t be Nathan’s father, Nathan was 3 when Papa Petrelli met Linderman in Vietnam. Now Peter on the other hand….

Just because Claire has healing powers doesn’t mean she’s a descendent of Linderman. Their powers are different. And look at Micah – his is totally different from Niki’s or DL’s powers. It’s not the specific power itself that’s genetic, but the *ability* to have a special power; something in the DNA that enhances natural abilities. Without that DNA mutation, Micah might be an electronic whiz and Clair a gifted doctor or something of that order.

  12. I didn’t meant to imply that I thought Claire was a descentant of Linderman’s because I thought they had similiar power, Sue. I was speculating as to whether Nathan and/or Peter could be Linderman’s son and if the man who is supposed to be their father (Papa Petrelli) had a power. Separate from that, I was also speculating that since Linderman could return a dying plant to bloom and fix Nathan’s wife’s injuries so she could walk again that perhaps he could also heal himself from DL reaching in his head an grabbing his brain. No where did I say that I thought Peter might be Linderman’s son because I thought Claire had the same power as Linderman.

  13. it would make sense if Linderman healed himself, he is a healer. I hope linderman is not the Petrlli’s father, more storyline line with another father. I saw DL alive in the prewiews for next week. I was wondering is the future already different because of the actions of Jessica/DL. I thought Linderman was going to ensure Petrelli to the Presidency?
