Grey’s Anatomy: Tests and Babies

Grey’s Anatomy: Tests and Babies

Grey's Anatomy - McDreamy and Bar Slut
Photo Property of ABC.com

Where to begin? There was just so much going on! I know I’m going to leave stuff out.

The day the interns had to take their big exams was the same day of Meredith’s step-mom’s funeral Unfortunately her dad showed up and laid into Meredith, blaming her for his wife’s death and saying he didn’t want her at the funeral and he never wanted to see her again. Wow, something new from her dad! Basically he’s cut her out of his life TWICE now. This was SO heartbreaking. Does Meredith’s sister know who is is yet? I think I may have missed that episode.

As a result of her dad’s outburst, Meredith went and failed the intern test. George however wouldn’t give up on her, he got the Chief to let Meredith take her exam over

Meanwhile Alex was also preoccupied, but got through his exam. It seems Jane Doe has remembered! She was an unhappy pregnant wife with a boring husband, she ran away from him . . . or so she says. WHY am I feeling there could be a whole lot more to this story then she’s letting on?

Adelle returned to the hospital with a shocker . . . she’s pregnant! However we never got an answer as to whether or not it was the Chief’s baby. She refused to stay in the hospital as Addison suggested, and later collapsed to be found by the Chief. Nooooooo not Adelle! They can’t kill her off. With Adelle back in the picture, I have to wonder if the Chief will retire now?

Speaking of the Chief retiring, everyone was on edge as to who will be named. Meanwhile Bailey learned she had competition from Callie for the chief resident position. Bailey better get it!

Callie remained a bit suspicious of Izzie and George, but George decided he was going to transfer to another hospital. Dr. Bailey gave him hell for it too, because it was career suicide. Love her! Izzie basically pulled a McSteamy in order to try and get George to stay, by saying she didn’t really love him and it was just sex. However as Christina was trying to write her vows, Izzie unloaded the truth . . . as Callie listened in! Callie looked PISSED as she knew Izzie wasn’t talking about Denny. Cat fight next episode?

Poor Addison was being stalked by pregnant women in this episode, as she put it. The bartender and his partner brought a woman in for a checkup, they were going to adopt the baby. Turns out she’s having two babies, twins! She was trying to decide between two couples and then passed out in the bar.

At Burke’s bachelor party, McDreamy got hit on by the girl the internet is referring to as “bar slut.” Worse yet, he’s throwing it in Meredith’s face in the previews! Uhg, why is he doing this? Where is McVet when we need him!

Finally one of the most interesting stories of the night, four claimers trapped on Mt. Ranere were brought in . . . well three of them were. They claimed their fourth friend died, but later George and Izzie overheard them talking . . . it seemed like they left him up there to die, or sacrificed him to save themselves. When the fourth one was rescued and brought in . . . he had a pick axe in his head! As Bailey said “What in the hell happened up there?”

Ugly Betty: A Tree And A Blue House

Ugly Betty: A Tree And A Blue House

Ugly Betty - A Tree
Photo Property of ABC.com

This was probably one of my favorite episodes of “Ugly Betty.” I really liked the mystical aspects with the village shaman/healer lady giving Betty a prophecy of sorts.

Betty and family traveled to Mexico because Ignacio needed to try and get a visa to stay in the country. They met up with Ignacio’s family, only to learn from their aunt that there mother’s mother was still alive! Of course this was kept from the girls because their grandma turned her back on her daughter, who left to be with Ignacio. After a woman told Betty she’d never be happy, Betty was convinced she had to find her grandmother to break some curse.

After a bus ride with Hilda, leaving them both stranded, Betty saw the tree missing branches and the blue house that the old woman told Betty about. In the house was her grandmother, who sadly was suffering from Alzheimer’s. However she thought Betty was her daughter, telling her she was right to go and fight for her man. Obviously Betty took this to mean she had to go fight for Henry. Her grandma gave her some of her mother’s clothes, in which Hilda found her wedding dress. It seemed everything ended happily ever after . . .

Then we learned Ignacio had been denied a visa and had to stay in Mexico. Worse yet, that guy called someone to finally have their revenge on Ignacio. Obviously his wife’s first husband is still alive and wants revenge! Uh Oh!

Back in New York, Bradford went through some whole mid-life crisis nonsense. I really didn’t see the point of that whole storyline, it bored me and was the least interesting of the whole episode. Meanwhile, Alexis found herself facing off with the last woman she dated as a man. An upset Daniel decided to date Jordan, Alexis’ ex. Jordan in turn used Daniel to get the next best thing to Alex, as well as a little bit of revenge I suspect. In the end, Jordan was still attracted to Alex/Alexis . . . and Daniel got a little show! Poor Daniel just can’t beat his brother . . . er sister at anything.

Alexis also hired a man to knock off Bradford . . .  but it seems they messed up and hit Daniel. Obviously they don’t kill him. Was it an accident though, or did she pay a little extra to have her brother beat up over the Jordan thing?

Elsewhere, Marc remained jealous over Amanda’s new “gay boy.”  Of course at a big fashion party where the guy was trying to impress, Marc caught Amanda kissing him and got the truth, he’s a straight designer in the closet. I loved Marc’s speech to her that she was worth so much more and this was Daniel all over again. Then one of the best parts of the night, when Marc “outed” him. It looked like he was still in with the fashion crowd . . . until Amanda broke out the shell dresses! Amanda and Marc are priceless. Finally at the end of the show . . . they found Fey Summer’s love dungeon! It does exist!

Next week’s promos looked hot! We had Betty fighting for Henry, but his girlfriend shows up! It looks like Bradford proposed? It also looks like Claire returns with a gun?Marc and Amanda find a birth certificate that is shocking? That one I can’t wait to find out about. Finally a gun shot is fired! Who fires the gun? Is it Claire or Henry’s crazy girlfriend, and who gets hit? The suspense is killing me!

Medium: Liar Liar

Medium - Howie and Allison
Photo Property of NBC.com

Once again it was a very different “Medium.” For starters, there were a lot less dreams in this one, the show was more focused on Allison trying to convince Debra she was the next on the “recapitators” list. It did feature the very humorous “Deal or No Deal” dream which served to warn Allison not to trust Debra, but she didn’t seem to get the meaning of the dream.

Allison tried to warn Debra, but Debra pushed for proof she was next on the list. Allison then spilled everything to Debra to warn her she was next, including all about her visions and dreams. Dumb dumb dumb! If Debra didn’t believe “they got a tip” then Allison should have left it at “you’ve been warned.” Debra turned out to be a reporter and threatened to turn in a story exposing Alison. She is obviously working for the guy Allison dreamed about that took over as DA. I was so furious when Debra stood there telling Allison she was a mental case and needed help. I was thinking “Let her die Allison!” Allison of course looks crazy as Debra wasn’t the next on the list, another woman was kileld as the episode came to an end.

Joe made steps to getting better and returning to work, only to find his work wanted to buy him out of suing them, and if he didn’t accept their offer or sign their papers then he would be fired. What what what! Time to find that lawyer and sue sue sue! Meanwhile they completely seemed to drop the whole text message relationship with the pregnant co-worker. What was up with that? I wanted some kind of resolution and we didn’t get any.

Lakisha Was ROBBED!

Lakisha Was ROBBED!

Posted by Dustin on 05.09.2007 at 8:59 pm

So I’m sorry, I know Blake has the girls probably voting for him, but Lakisha was robbed this week. Blake, as great as he is, was the weakest of the singers and just sucked this week. He should have been the one to go home. I don’t think Lakisha would have won, but she should still be in the game. The final 2 will come down to Jordin and Melinda.

Networks To Announce Fall Line-Ups Next Week

Networks To Announce Fall Line-Ups Next Week

Posted by Dustin on 05.09.2007 at 5:34 pm

Next week is the big week when the networks are set to reveal what shows are coming back in the fall, the nights they will air and what the new shows will be from the pool of pilots submitted.

Most of the new shows are expected to be action oriented serials (ie the next “Heroes”) or drama/comedies (ie the next “Ugly Betty”). It looks like the days of the half-hour sitcom on major networks could soon be history.

Of the shows coming out, I’m excited about a few. I think it’s a no brainer the “Grey’s” spin-off will be picked up, it pulled in good numbers, in spite of the mediocre reviews it got from the press.

I’m hoping ABC will give “Football Wives” a chance. I loved the BBC version, this one could be great . . . if done right. The other show I’m also looking forward to, which almost for sure will be picked up, is another remake! I’m speaking of NBC’s new “Bionic Woman.” Part of me thinks they really shouldn’t mess with a classic, but it could be good if done right.

FX Renewals

FX Renewals

Posted by Dustin on 05.09.2007 at 4:24 pm

The cable channel FX has renewed both the Eddie Izzard and Mini Driver dramedy “The Riches” as well as Courtney Cox’s “Dirt.”

I only watched the pilot for “The Riches” and never got into it. However people say good things about it, so I’ll be getting it on DVD when it comes out. I never watched “Dirt” but have a friend who wouldn’t stop talking about it all year. I’ll be renting that one too this summer.

“Nip/Tuck” and “The Shield” are supposed to be back next season as well, but it may be the final season for both shows.

Dancing And Singing To The Finals

Dancing And Singing To The Finals

Posted by Dustin on 05.08.2007 at 9:40 pm

So thanks to an “accident” with Tivo, I did not get to see the 2nd half of “Dancing With The Stars.” I do have to say while I expected Billy Ray to go home, I did NOT expect Joey to land in the bottom two! What the hell, did everyone feel bad for Ian and vote for him this week?

As for “American Idol,” it’s the bottom four and now it gets tough. Based on tonight’s show I’m going to have to say it’s so long to Blake next week. He just stunk up the house. Melinda was good, but Jordin rocked it.

I just caught a commercial for “America’s Got Talent” this week. Brandi isn’t coming back! Instead they have Sharron Ozbourne in her seat. I forgot who the other judge even was, aside from David. That show kind of annoyed me last year, especially since I found out almost HALF of the acts were actually talent acts promoted by a Las Vegas firm. That and I recognized the feet-firing-bow-n-arrow girl from a Las Vegas act as well.
