So I’m not sure what to think about tonight’s episode of “Heroes.” After last week’s action packed episode, this one seemed a little slow. It’s on Tivo and I’ll probably be watching it again later in the week. Anyways, lets talk “Heroes.”

First up we met the mother of Sylar this week. Sylar learned he may be the exploding man after gaining Isaac’s power and showed he actually had somewhat of a conscience. He decided to go home and have a talk with mommy to somehow see if he could keep himself from killing innocents. “Suddenly Seymour, is standing beside me.” I sang that through the whole episode. Ellen Greene, who played Sylar’s mom, played Audrey in “Little Shop Of Horrors.” We learned his mom has always told Sylar he was special and pushed him to be more than normal, whereas Sylar wanted to be told he could just be normal. In the end, he killed his mom and when Hiro tried to kill him, he broke Hiro’s sword! It took poor Hiro all season to get the damn sword and he couldn’t control his powers without it. With two episodes left he better not regress and lose his powers again! Oh we also learned from the new comic that Sylar kills Ando! Hurry Hiro, stop him!

We met Molly, who has the power to locate anyone by just thinking about them. This is the power that will stop Sylar? Hmmmm. I guess they can find him with it. However she can’t use her power because of some genetic infection of sorts blocking it, which is where Surresh comes in. We finally learned his sister had a power but couldn’t use it because of the same illness. We always knew she was special, but this confirms it. So if powers are genetic, does Surresh have one he doesn’t know about? I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a shocker for the season finale.

Claire agreed to leave town so her dad could win the election, which is in two days. Peter however convinced her she had to be here, they were all destined to help stop the bomb and save New York. Well maybe not Nathan, who is contemplating letting the bomb go off in order to get elected. Claire saw Thompson with Nathan and finally realized something bad was going down, but Peter seems to refuse to believe it. Brother against brother in the finale perhaps?

The big shocker, which wasn’t really a shock, Nathan’s mom is in on this with Linderman as well! So wait wait wait, she’s willing to let Peter explode so Nathan can get to the White House? I’m confused here. By the end of the episode Claire was reunited with Mr. Bennett, but Peter started to acquire Ted’s power to go boom. Actually he already has it, but he can’t control it. Where’s Mr. Invisible when Peter needs him.

Finally Micah was being held by the shape-shifter in order to do something for Mr. Linderman. Nikki and DL went looking for him and found one of Isaac’s paintings showing Micah in the middle of burning New York. Hmmmm. From the previews it seems he’s trying to contain something next week . . . . but isn’t his power controlling technology? What is he doing for Linderman? I am not getting that one. I’d still also love some sort of an explanation as to what in the heck Nikki’s power exactly is. I get the super strength, I get the doppelganger/twin thing. I still don’t really get how her power is useful at all though.

Brothers and Sisters: Wine and Cake

Brothers and Sisters: Wine and Cake

Posted by Dustin on 05.06.2007 at 10:31 pm

So “Brothers and Sisters” rocked tonight! Let’s get to it.

The episode revolved around Tommy and Holly’s winery opening. To celebrate, and woo investors, they threw a party. The problem was none of Tommy’s family wanted to go, for various reasons. Sarah because of the Joe-Rebbecca thing, Kitty because of the senator, Justin because nobody else was goin. In the end though, they all attended.

Rebbecca continued to play the little victim in this episode. How long before she’s actually found out? Why isn’t Joe saying anything? Is he TRYING to protect her? Meanwhile her mother Holly moved in on Nora’s new man Marc. I think she not only wanted to get back at Nora for taking in Rebbecca, but hurt Saul. The woman is a viper!

Kitty dodged a trip with the senator this week, and basically took back her marriage proposal to him! Whoa. Later after popping way to many pain pills, thinking they were aspirin, she told Kevin about the proposal. Kevin, who hates the senator, was NOT pleased. He then blabbed to the whole family! I loved Sarah’s response to Nora’s happy reaction . . . “You are welcoming a man Kitty has known for 3 months into the family and are ready to throw my husband of years out.”

Justin and Joe came to a head at the party over the Rebbecca incident. What struck me was that Sarah was angry at Justin as it wasn’t his place to tell Joe to come clean. I think I would have been more angry at my brother for knowing and NOT telling me!

Holly went after Marc, leading to an amazing confrontation between Nora and Holly. Words were said, food was thrown. In the end Nora told Holly she had to let William go. Holly in turn told Nora she did not want Rebbecca living in her house. Oh dear, is this a warning of something more to come with Rebbecca? What else can she do? Thankfully over all of this, Nora found her brain and showed Marc the door. It’s about time she dumped the loser.

The show ended with Julia going into labor far too early. Next week the twins are in danger, one or both could die. I think it might be a Kleenex episode!

Desperate Housewives: Chills

Desperate Housewives: Chills

For Sweeps, this wasn’t one of the better “Desperate Housewives” I’m afraid. Anyways let’s dish!

First up, Lynette and Rick got robbed during a “romantic” dinner at the pizzeria and locked in the cooler. Tom found them the next morning, and upon reviewing the security tapes of the robbery, the pizza hit the fan. Tom got a good look at Lynette and Rick’s “dinner.” Lynette, out of guilt, fired Rick. Meanwhile Tom’s little talk with Rick, ouch. I guess Lynette deserved what he said, but to say he would stay with her until she realized what she did and felt miserable about it, that was down right mean of him. Lynette eventually broke down over what happened. She technically didn’t cheat, except in her heart, and you know she wanted to cheat. At least we didn’t have to see Kayla the devil child in this episode.

We met Edie’s ex husband in this episode, played by Greg Evigan. When Edie realized with Travers leaving that Carlos wouldn’t be hanging around as much, she went into action. I knew Carlos liked the idea of the pre-made family more than anything. Edie finally saw it too. However she schemed to keep her kid around in order to keep Carlos! It was low that she used her kid. Then again, that is Edie. Carlos talked her out of the custody suit. Edie then broke down over actually missing her son. I do hope they bring the little guy back, he was cute . . . . and FAR better than her nephew Austin. That character can stay gone!

Susan headed to the woods to find Mike and got lost, because she decided she didn’t need a guide. In the end it was Mike who came to her rescue. Not much really to comment, this storyline was a bit of a snooze.

Finally the one interesting story of the night was Gabrielle and Victor. Victor won the race for Mayor, and Gabby let the power of being his wife go to her head and tried to get out of parking tickets. The meter man basically was an ass and did manhandle her, but she got arrested for kicking him in the jimmy. The real interesting part of this all was Victor’s reaction. We finally saw a dark side to him. Not only was he livid with Gabby, which he had reason to be given her behavior, he had the meter man beat up for hurting her! This is a very scary Victor. I wonder where they are going to take this one. Gabby thinks she found her prince charming, but he’s a troll in disguise it seems.

Grey’s Spinoff Review

Grey’s Spinoff Review

Posted by Dustin on 05.06.2007 at 10:20 am

So I finally re-watched the 2 Hour “Grey’s” show this weekend to see what I missed the first time around. Here are some quick thoughts on the episode.

First up, I have to say I really wish they would have just done an hour long show devoted to Addison’s trip to LA. It would have made it so much easier than bouncing back and forth. I get why they did it though, if it was only the “Addison Hour” then many viewers probably would have skipped over this episode.

I really did like the cast of the “spin off” portion of the show. For the most part I felt they clicked. I’m still not getting the surfer boy thing though. He seems pointless aside from being eye candy. The part where they were are ogling him was funny though. The internet-sex doc also didn’t seem to mesh well into the story, but I’d give him time since he is a good actor.

I still loved the interaction between Addison and Tim Daly’s character, they were smokin. Addison and Noami worked really well together as well. The whole “divorce” issue between Naomi and her hubby hit a little too close to home for me though. While the whole story with the sleeping around surrogate in LA was amusing and well thought out, it seems the sex-crazed wife storyline in LA was just an afterthought and thrown in there. I still loved the whole Tilly part of the LA storyline!

Over in Seattle, I have a bad feeling that poor Alex headed for a heartbreak with Jane Doe. She went through an operation to regain her memory, but it didn’t work. By the end of the season we should get a little closure on Jane Doe. Will Alex be devastated? I am thinking so. He’s attached to her, maybe not romantically, but he’s attached.

Meredith’s step-mom died in this episode, just when she was getting close to both her and her estranged father. Now why did they go and do this? Seriously . . . SERIOUSLY!I don’t get it. I liked the interaction between Meredith and her step-mom, now she’s dead. Poo poo to this idea! Now her father is angry at her for “letting his wife die.” I agree with the poster who said if you sneezed you would have missed her death. I have watched twice and both times missed what she actually died of!

Burke and Christina continued with their wedding plans along with their nosey mothers. Christina and Burke clashed over whether to have a small simple wedding (Christina’s choice) or a big traditional one (Burke’s preference). I have to say, I love love LOVE Christina’s mother. Though I can’t watch the actress without thinking of her yelling “Waverly!” For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, go rent “The Joy Luck Club.”

Best lines of the week? Well I have to give the best line to Dr. Baily when she ordered Burke and O’Malley to talk to one another and leave her marriage out of it. There is just something about her character, she is one of my favorites on the show. I think it stems from the classic “Stop looking at my vajayjay” line. Addison gets the runner up line for the whole “you’re using fart logic” line. That would have gotten the line of the week, but again, there is something about Bailey’s delivery of her lines that just makes it.

Time to get your crayons and your pencils? No not exactly! One of the things I hope to add to this blog is pictures! The write-ups could use some nice pictures from the episodes. My laptop has one of those TV tuner cards to watch TV on it, but I’ve never set it up or tried to figure it out. I’m going to attempt to do that this weekend though and hopefully soon I’ll have nice quality snaps to add to the posts.

Another thing I hope to do is spruce up the look of the blog. When I set it up I chose two templates that were clean and functioned for everything I needed/wanted the blog to do. In time I hope to either find some themes I can either customize more to my liking, or have someone who knows how to make blog themes create a set for me.

Ugly Betty: Wenches

Ugly Betty: Wenches

Posted by Dustin on 05.04.2007 at 10:04 pm

So the first time through, I didn’t think this was such a great episode of “Ugly Betty.” But when I watched it again I loved it, because I picked up on everything I missed the first time.  This write-up mentions a particular spoiler for the season finale!

Daniel finally, with Betty’s help, began to realize he was a sex addict this week. He seems to be trying to turn over a new leaf. How will the show go on without his bed hoping! Meanwhile Alexis learned her father had paid the Brazilian to seduce her and get her out of the country. Uh oh! She went into mega bitch mode and made a mysterious call, saying she needed a problem taken care of. Looks like poor Bradford could be kicking the bucket!

Wilhelmina visits Claire in prison, and Claire got her own bitch on and warned her to stay away from her husband! Wilhelmina hatched a plan to force Bradford to divorce Claire. This of course led to the funniest moment of the show, Marc and Wilhelmina’s bitch fight. “Who do you think canceled your subscription to dudecruise.com?” I know it shouldn’t have been funny, but when she tumbled down those steps it was. She then claimed Claire hired some goons to beat her up. Speaking of beating up, Claire is getting knocked around in the joint.  Could she be the shocking death?

Betty and family were faced this week with getting money to get their dad back to Mexico, as he was being deported. The dad didn’t want to leave until he knew Hilda would be able to take care of herself and the others. Facing her beauty school exam, she stepped it up to pass.

As it was “Administrative Assistants Day,” Betty planned a huge gathering of Mode staff at Medieval Times. There she attempted to win the money she needed riding that bull thing. A fight with another office jerk led to Henry defending her honor. Henry finally told Betty he loved her, only to have Charlie show up. Charlie then got her bitch on and told Betty to stay away from her man! Why is Charlie holding onto this guy when she knows Henry likes Betty? How long will it take for Betty to get together with Henry!

Finally at the end we got one of the most touching scenes of the season between Daniel and Betty. Daniel admitted her was a jerk and gave Betty and her family all first class tickets to Mexico. So sweet!

Ghost Whisperer: 55555

Ghost Whisperer: 55555

Posted by Dustin on 05.04.2007 at 8:11 pm

Okay this was one of the most bizarre episodes of the show. Through the whole thing I just sat there wondering where they were going with this? A bridge with falling cars? A boat in the sky? I wasn’t getting it, but at the end they really pulled it all together nicely with the 55555 thing. Why was the professor doing the math on his window though?

Through the whole episode I went back and forth between “They’re gunna kill Dehlia!” and “They’re gunna kill her husband!” Frankly they better not kill either off or I will be angry! I think early in the season there were hints Melinda’s husband would die. Don’t go there show! We already lost Andrea, we don’t need to go through this again.

The previews for next week have Melinda finding out who she really is. That should be interesting. Something from a past life maybe? I’m still not sure what the next big accident is, but I’m sure it has something to do with the dead taking over . . . which was totally ignored in this episode it seems. All I know is they better not leave us with another cliffhanger season finale, because CBS still hasn’t announced whether this show is coming back yet or not. I’m sure it will though, it is the ratings winner on Friday’s.

Desperate Housewives Finale Spoiler

Desperate Housewives Finale Spoiler

Eva Longoria appeared on Jimmy Kimmel last night. If you were hoping perhaps Gabriel might back out of the wedding and reunite with Carlos, it looks like you can stop hoping. From the way she talked about it, Gabriel does marry Victor.

Also, in the article I posted yesterday on Marcia Cross, I forgot to say when Bree and Orson return for the finale, it somehow involves a baby! Danielle’s perhaps?
