The season 3 premier of Showtime’s “Weeds” was this week. I watched it the day of and have been dwelling on it. I have to say I was disappointed.
When we last saw the people of Agresta, Nancy and Conrad were being held at gunpoint by Uturn and a group of Armenians, who killed Peter. The Armenians were promised money for killing Peter, Heylia hired them. Uturn wants the pot, but wasn’t going to give Nancy any money. He was going to steal it, leaving the Armenians with no money for their services. To make matters worse, Silas stole the pot from his mom’s safe as he wanted in on the deal. Meanwhile Andy, the brother in law, is looking for Shawn, who took off in a truck with Andy’s psycho girlfriend.
Basically in the season premier nothing was resolved really, which is why I was so let down! Shane and the crazy lady ended up in Mexico, where she met up with a guy and took off. Shane was left with the car and told to practice driving and head home! He DID! Meanwhile Andy and a bounty hunter tracked them to Mexico, but the bounty hunter ditched Andy to go find the crazy girl. Andy was stuck in Mexico, having learned Shane took off back home in a car on his own.
Silas was arrested when Celia found out he was the one stealing her “No Drug Zone Signs.” Celia drove his car home, having no way to get home after she had a cop hunt him down and arrest him. She discovered Nancy’s pot stash in the trunk.
Nancy meanwhile convinced Uturn and the Armenians not to kill her, to let her track down the pot. They held Conrad prisoner while she went off looking for the pot. Uturn basically got rid of the Armenians buy offering them half of what they were owed, they wanted to take the pot in lieu of the cash. They left, leaving Uturn holding Conrad hostage. Nancy meanwhile discovered Celia dumped all her pot in her pool! It looks like Nancy and Conrad are both dead.
Basically it just wasn’t as funny and witty as Weeds usually is. There were a few laughs, but I expected more. Here’s hoping the rest of the season improves.
Jameka and Amber were put up by Danielle, shocker I know. Danielle also, it seems, won POV. Will she save one of the people she originally put up to send another home? Who knows!
I think we can safely say if the noms stay the same then Amber is toast. It’s stupid to send Jameka home when she can’t win HOH for what, 3 more weeks?
Janel Parish has been cast as May, the head cheerleader at Claire’s new school. In Season 2 Claire and the Bennetts have moved to California to try and start over.
“Ugly Betty” is one of the first ABC shows to have its new promo to begin airing tonight. ABC has tapped several recording artists to use in “music video” like promos for the upcoming season. Mika was tapped for “Ugly Betty.” He’s not well known here, but his song “Big Girls You Are Beautiful” is pretty popular over in Britain. The song was re-written a bit to say “Betty You Are Beautiful.” The promo features the cast, filmed against a blue screen, then super imposed on a wonderfully colorful park like animated backdrop (Central Park?).
For the original video, check out the following YouTube Clip. The new promo will probably be added to YouTube later tonight, as well as ABC.com where you should be able to get the whole video.
Comments Off on New Ugly Betty Promos To Begin Tonight!
I can’t believe I didn’t catch this one in my email box a few days ago! Nichelle Nichols, best known as Lt. Uhura on “Star Trek,” will join “Heroes” this fall for 5-6 episodes as Monica’s grandmother.
The rumor/news going around now is that Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice’s, appearance in “Ugly Betty” next season will be as a larger than life bridesmaid. Early spoilers claimed she had something to do with a wedding, now it’s been “leaked” she’ll be wearing a fat suit to appear as a bridesmaid to someone.
My guess is that Willy and Bradford will actually be getting married this season?
Upcoming Eviction On Big Brother! Will It Be Dick Or Dustin?
Posted by Dustin on 08.14.2007 at 10:30 pm
So Dick won the POV tonight and used it to save Danielle. Thinking Dustin had a deal with Dick, thanks to Jen, Jessica was conflicted as to whether he was trustworthy. She went to talk to Eric, but his assignment was to give her the silent treatment. He claimed he had a headache and she thinks he might have a deal with Dick to and doesn’t know who to trust. Dick saved Danielle, and Jessica put Dustin up. From the feeds she later realized Jen was probably lying to her. So Dustin is up, who will go home? It’s sticky this week.
Amber and Jameka will most likely vote to keep Dustin.
Jen and Danielle to keep Dick.
Eric will probably be told to evict Dustin. If he does, he will most likely be exposed as a fraud to the LNC. Everything Dick and Danielle said about him will look true.
Zack however claims he will vote as Jessica tells him to, trying to get on her good side.
This would leave it a tie with Jessica as the deciding vote.
On another note, Dick has apparently apologized to everyone, saying what he did was to try and save Danielle and have them vote him out.
Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm will be Susan’s new gay neighbors Bob and Lee on “Desperate Housewives.”
Tuc has played David Vickers on both “All My Children” and “One Life To Live.” Kevin Rahm may be familiar to some as Kyle McCarty on the final seasons of “Judging Amy.”
